hello ladies! put some more pictures up now, both on blog and my profile, so you can see how hairy she is lol!
ellen weighs 9lb3 now thats nearly 3 pound in 6 weeks! my big hungry girl is getting lovely and chubby now. she went into 0-3 baby grows yesterday as well

how is everyone? not had a chance to read posts so going to do that now and get back to you....

NattyThomasandEllen · 05/07/2007 13:25

wow babies that can dress themselves and talk of electric swings.. havent missed anything drastic then lol

must say the only thing Ellen will sleep in at mo is her electric swing... i love that thing it was a god send with thomas as well

she finally conked out beside me and have just heard tom stiring and singing in his cot... omg is it always going to be this way!

MY BOILER IS FINALLY BEING REPLACED!! wooooo yay for hot showers soon.. unfortunatly no water or gas all day, which means no food or drink

bumperlicious · 05/07/2007 13:58

Hi nt&e, glad you are doing ok. hope you manage today while your boiler is being replaced.

anyone still struggling with latching on? just when i thought we'd cracked it, my right boob is really sore. nipple isn't cracked but coming out wedge shaped and feeling really sore when feeding. starting to dread it again, fucking hurts. can't see what i am doing wrong though.

oh and fucking hv not coming today, a different one is coming tomorrow. dd will be 16 days old, thought she was supposed to come on day 11. could really do with some help too re latching and the wind. now trappedby the baby again as she is finally sleeping peacefully & don't want to move her

hugs to bumper. Poor you, I sympathise, I really do.

foxybrown · 05/07/2007 14:48

bumper - is it the toe-curling latching on pain which then stops once she starts drinking?

bumperlicious · 05/07/2007 15:19

I think so foxy, I really thought we were doing it right, she gets a good mouthful and feeds ok, just fucking hurts, but boobs are so tender anyway they just hurt all the time.

Oh god she keeps feeding then stopping feeding then stopping. Wish she would make up her mind so I do go out of mine!

How are you doing anyway foxy?

My HV is lovely - she came round and had a cup of coffee and bought me some new teats to try, she told me S has colic and just offered lots of support. She was so nice.
It's her day off tomorrow but she said she'd come by about 2pm to give me a break for a while.

I feel a lot better now...he's still screaming but I feel a bit emotionally rescued!

bumperlicious · 05/07/2007 15:47

i'm so glad ta, she sounds lovely. mine isn't coming till tomorrow now.

whoops stop press, a fill in hv just rang & offered to come round in 15 mins! plus dh has left work early to come and rescue me.

told you it would be me going off on one later ta1

Glad your HV is being so helpful TA. Mine came today, and C has gained 150g since Monday - hungry little madam! She's now back to birth weight HV saw her feeding while we were talking and was impressed at how well it went. Oh and her tip for encouraging feeding if they are sleepy at the boob and taking a long time over it is to flick the ear - she says you can do it quite hard without it hurting them but it stimulates them to keep feeding. She says it's important to teach them to feed not sleep when they are on the breast.

daisyandbabybootoo · 05/07/2007 15:57

TA...glad you feel a bit calmer. Colic is a bitch. Our friends DD had it and just screamed and screamed and screamed. I hope it gets better soon, but at least you know its nothing you're doing or not doing

Bumper...i thought things were improving on the feeding front. I found that as DD grows (and boy is she growing) i need to re-align her every so often or it goes a bit awry again! good luck with your stand in hv.

went to baby cafe today...it was great, most of the mums were older like me, and very friendly and chatty.....its only on for another 2 weeks then off for the summer unfortunately, but one woman has invited me to an NCT coffee morning, so that was nice.

Natty....she's gorgeous....i thought my LO had hair, and i see you have the same combo as me...blonde big bro and really dark lil sis.

lilkel...she's gorgeous too...and looks ever so content....wish i had one of those swings, LOL!

hi to everyone else....

...right, off for meeting with DSs teachers for his end of year report.

foxybrown · 05/07/2007 16:11

Had my parents meetings today too Daisy. Pleased to report my children are all lovely, clever bright sparks. Good to know they've inherited their mother's genes then

Bumper, I've always had the same problem. And I know the dread of feeding time so you have my full sympathy and support. It does stop though! Just when you are about to give up, it comes good. I don't suppose your nips are used to being chomped on 24/7? Unless you are a fan of nipple clamps, they've probably never had so much attention! I'm afraid all I can say is curl your toes and mouth "fuuucccckkk" to yourself. That's what I do. Sorry, not much help I know, but it does get better.

BadZelda · 05/07/2007 16:42

Ooh wondering if I can actually bring myself to go to a PARTY without babies tonight. It's a scary thought. How much do you think you'd need to express say between eight and midnight? 9 oz enough? (not used to bottle feeding)

derlor · 05/07/2007 16:52

just dropping in so i can find the thread later, need to catch up with everyone's news 1st x

trendaverter · 05/07/2007 17:04

BZ - I would say 9oz is plenty - S drinks about 4oz every 4 hours

catc · 05/07/2007 17:06

Hi everyone im new to this site i have a 20 mnth old dd and my ds was born on 2nd june so i just thought id invite myself onto your thread to say hiya! How is everyone on here?

derlor · 05/07/2007 17:08

ppsssstttt...Bumper/Lilkel really hard tummy, and wind in the gut an hour or so after feeding??? This CAN be an indication of a dairy allergy!!! Bumper NO MORE dairy for you for a couple of days to assess things and Lilkel - soya milk!

BadZelda · 05/07/2007 17:09

secondly, think I can get away with just washing the (brand new) breastpump in hot soapy water? Have just discovered a big crack in my steriliser ;(

BadZelda · 05/07/2007 17:10

Hi CatC - nice to meet you. Can't speak for everyone, but I am just about keeping my head above the water

derlor · 05/07/2007 17:12

TA are you happy to give me your email address?
Hi catc lovely of you to join this slightly mad thread!! x

catc · 05/07/2007 17:12

hiya badzelda, how old is your lo? my ds is 4 weeks and suffering with colic

catc · 05/07/2007 17:13

hi everyone

hollyandalicewillbedogtanian · 05/07/2007 17:13

Oh bollocks! Just got cold, so put on dp's fave jumper. Just realised it now has a big milky wet patch on it! Oops!

Oooo BZ, a real life! Well done! I remember my dd taking about 4 oz of ebm a feed when she was little.

derlor · 05/07/2007 17:14

BZ, no need to steralise, just wash in HOT water and allow to dry, this is fine. alternatively, place bits in boiling water for a few mins before using if you want.

hollyandalicewillbedogtanian · 05/07/2007 17:15

Hi catc, welcome!!

derlor · 05/07/2007 17:16

oh bollocks forgot to make tea for DS and DD! DH went back to work today, can you tell!!!???
