Hello all

Katy - How are you feeling? Hope you're ok.

Emmymummy - Hope S ok after her jabs and you managed to get some packing done...hope you have a great time. Glad the formula is working well with the reflux.

Bumble - L has a lovely smile.
GMM - C also has a gorgeous smile.

Leaky - have the same problem with Izzy think she's camera shy

Maveta - hope your neck's ok...that'll teach you for doing stupid things like housework

Pesha - Dylan certainly picks his moments for poo explosions and at being overcharged.

Great weight gain Nutty...Erin not you obviously.

Jake is still wearing a nappy at night. He's 3.9. It's still pretty wet most mornings so have no thoughts of stopping nappies yet.

Izzy also cries when we are eating...or watches us intently while drooling and stuffing her fists in her mouth.

I'm also wearing a bra all day everyday...although don't seem to be leaking as much as I did...I have a strong let down though so wouldn't be any good to try without...it would be so lovely to sleep completely naked again haven't been able to go braless since 6months pg

oooggs · 28/06/2007 22:11

yes JoMa - James is 4 in December, can you believe they will be going to school Sept 08??????

Pesha · 28/06/2007 22:20

Oooggs - its only about 20/30mins away depending on whether I'm stuck behind some numpty who insists on doing at least 10mph slower than the speed limit like today or not! Definitely let me know if you're up again and i'll try and meet you, dp hates going with me as I actually like to look at things before I buy them so would be lovely to have someone else to go with and I'd love to meet you and your LOs.

Perhaps we should have a south west meet up at street? Cheap shopping for mums and play area for kids!! Does it get any better?! Or is it actually abit out of the way for everyone else, probably not very central is it?

Nathan was wearing nappies at night that were wet every morning but I changed him into pull ups with lightning mcqueen on and they seem to be dry most mornings now! I think its partly cos he can pull them down to go to the loo if he needs to whereas in nappies he would just pee in them, and also because I've made more of a point saying the pictures go if he pees so lets try to keep them on and being excited if they're still there in the morning. And cos he loves lightning and doesnt want to pee on him

JoMa · 28/06/2007 22:22

it's too far away for me, the boy is driving me mad

they're changing our school systems too so will make it difficult to know where to send him.

it's all a complete f**k up to be honest

Hi everyone
So far so good - feel a lot better so hopefully it was all just in my head
SOKL - psoriasis is fairly bad but not the worst it's been, thanks for asking. Good luck at the docs, let me know if you get anything new (although mine's on my scalp so probably get slightly different stuff).
Can't remember anything else, sorry, was very amused at all the poo stories! DH once wandered around for a few hours before realising he had a brown stain on his white T shirt!
T has been a vomit chops today - we've been through 3 sleep suits, he's now just in a vest as none left, they were absolutely soaking wet!

weeonion · 28/06/2007 22:24

elkiedee · 28/06/2007 22:35

So when someone start an April 08 thread? Presumably not long...

elkiedee · 28/06/2007 22:36

oops, sorry to be soooo unoriginal, you all post so fast

JoMa · 28/06/2007 22:36

we did have a 3-school system
primary - reception to yr4
middle - yr5 to yr8
upper - yr9 to yr13 (incldes a 6th form part)

they have just decided, against public opinion, to switch to the 2 school system
primary - reception to yr6
secondary - yr7 to yr13

it will be introduced gradually but Matthew will be in the first yeargroup not to leave Primary School til the end of yr6, everyone before him will go to middle school as now but move on to secondary for yr7.

our closest school (tho this isn't our catchment school) is a small village school. it's lovely, but just does not have the room for expansion which i think will mean them switching to a new school or combining a few small schools into an old middle school building.

they won't confirm what they are planning to do, and the uncertainty makes it very difficult to decide on which primary school, and therefore which pre-school, he should go to.

elkiedee · 28/06/2007 22:40

That's a shame, Leeds (my home town) scrapped middle schools a few years ago but I think they're better than going straight from primary to secondary schools.

Are your schools under a county council or a metropolitan borough, Ellie? I don't suppose the parish council gets any influence on this?

Pesha · 28/06/2007 22:41

Bugger about the schools though ellie, presumably you want him to be starting at the right pre school from sept dont you?

weeonion · 28/06/2007 22:43

anyone seen that thread with the baby crawling to its mums breast ??? amazing!

Pesha · 28/06/2007 22:44

They have middle schools where my sister lives just 20 mins away but here it is just primary and secondary. But the process of them changing it all is not really what you need is it

weeonion · 28/06/2007 22:47

oops - that last post seems a bit random in teh middle of school chat. sorry

JoMa · 28/06/2007 22:47

that would be the ideal Pesha, there are 3 schools i'm looking at, Thurston is 1.5 miles and opposite gran's house, Rougham is 1 mile but no direct footpaths so would be too far to walk and along the very busy main road, Woolpit is catchment but is 6 miles away . to add to the confusion, Rougham is the only one of the 3 to have a pre-school, the others lead straight in to reception, so if he's not going to Rougham he'll stay on at his very good Nursery for another year.

We are County Council Elkie, the Parish Councils went against the decision, as did all the schools and the majority of parents, but the County ignored that and did as they pleased . I'm a great fan of the 3 school system and am really disappointed they've switched.
