Hellloooo!!

Bumble and gmm your babies are gorgeous!

Have been shopping to clarks discount village and spent way too much money But it was all things we needed and all were real bargains. Got ds1 lots of t shirts from gap for £1.99 each and some gorgeously cute clothes for ds2. Main reason I went is ds1 has very wide feet, only clarks fit him so went there to get them cheap but his feet are a 10H and they didnt have any shoes in a 10H,tried a few Gs but no chance. Looks like we're gonna have to shell out for a full price pair. And dylan choose today to have another poo explosion! Seems he waits for me to be out and about to poo as this is the first poo he's done since last fridays explosion on the train!

Pesha · 28/06/2007 18:33

DD came out of school today and said to dp - 'I have too many boyfriends and dont know who to marry!'

oooggs · 28/06/2007 18:48

Pesha we went to the Clarks Village in Street about 5 weeks ago did manage to get ds1 shoes and spent a fortune in the Cadbury shop

Sexonknackeredlegs · 28/06/2007 19:09

Nutty, great news about Erin - you must be relieved.

Katy, did you vom or were you ok???
Btw, how is your psoriasis? Mine is dreadful and am seeing the GP next week.

Big wave to everyone else.

Bath and bed time in this household - wish me luck!

elkiedee · 28/06/2007 19:10

gmm, Charlie is another gorgeous baby.

On mumsnet, I've found a position for typing with all my fingers with Danny on my lap on his nursing cushion. He's actually gone to sleep again. But if I put him down so I can do other things, it's quite likely he'll wake up again. So Mike's been doing the housework and making tea.

Pesha · 28/06/2007 19:54

Oooggs isnt street abit far for you or were you up this way anyway? And oooh the cadbury shop!! I was quite restrained today although that was where ds2 did his poo so not so much through willpower! Bought some fudge though and its blardy gorgeous, cannot stop eating it Let me know if you're up again and perhaps we could meet up?

Pesha · 28/06/2007 20:13

Have just checked my gap receipt and she has charged me twice for 2 things and over charged me for something else - in total charged me £15 more than it should have been Normally I would have worked it out roughly myself so noticed but with ds1 running about and dancing in front of the mirrors, ds2 screaming/feeding in sling and heavil laden pushchair continually falling over i was abit distracted! Will be on the phone complaining tomorrow.

runnyhabbit · 28/06/2007 20:43

J and W in bed, sleeping

Really, really fancy a small glass of wine, but always feel a bit odd drinking on my own (dh is on his way home as I type)

My friend told me earlier that she got through half a bottle of wine last night - she's doing controlled crying with her ds (11mths) and it was the only way she could cope lol

So, is anyone going to join me for a small one?

Sexonknackeredlegs · 28/06/2007 20:50

Oh Pesha, you (well D) and his poo explosions! You poor thing!

Emmy, meant to say earlier, glad that the special formula milk seems to be going down - and staying down well.

WCL, pmsl at your poo saga today! Did the HV not offer to help clear up - lazy poohead!

GMM, C is gorgeous!

Runny, I am enjoying a chilled glass of Pinot Grigio. Much needed. Go on, treat yourself!

Right, dinner ready, so best get off mn.

Back later I expect.

xx

Bramshott · 28/06/2007 21:18

Ooh Pesha - how annoying about Gap!

I really fancy a drink too, but DH is out and I too feel like a saddo drinking on my own. Mind you, I did make it to the pub on Tuesday night so things are looking up.

Have made an attempt to catch up and just wanted to echo {{{hugs}}} to Bubblez for what you've been through - I'm sure any of us would have done exactly the same. Also to Runny about FIL - how awful.

And on a lighter note . . .

CD - My DH does exactly the same thing with dinner being "ready" - I think I'm supposed to sit there in excited anticipation of his culinary triumph!!!!!

May not be on much over the next week as DH is off work and we're having a mini-holiday with lots of day trips etc. Have also decided now that O is sleeping so well, that it's finally time for N to lose the pull-up at night so that's on the agenda for next week too. Any tips?!? Here is my battle plan:
No drinks after 6.00pm
Lift her when I go to bed and see if she'll wee then
Put a potty in her room so if she wakes she doesn't have to go all the way to the bathroom
Promise her chocolate if she's dry all night!
Sound okay?!?

oooggs · 28/06/2007 21:31

Bramshott - how old is N?

Pesha - we came up to just go to the Clarkes Village we came up Saturday 12 May and dt's were 6 weeks. I needed to spend money , no I just really fancied it and dh didn't dare argue. Not up often but if I get the urge again will let you know. Are you close by?

JoMa · 28/06/2007 21:32

hi all
here but off to read so may be a little slow ...............

OP posts:
Bramshott · 28/06/2007 21:37

Oooogs - she is 4.5 so it's really time . . .

JoMa · 28/06/2007 21:41

bramshott - lifting isn't recommended by all, it doesn't help teach them to be dry in the night and wake up when their bladder is full, just teaches them to wee when you get them up iyswim so while it might help keep the bed dry, it won't actually speed up her going thru the night dry

OP posts:
Sexonknackeredlegs · 28/06/2007 21:43

Just a quickie.

Maveta, I would suggest using the lower tog grobag, and then if it is cooler in the evening, putting a blanket over N.

Bramshott, is N's pull up dry in the morning or most mornings?

We found that B's was which is when we started going without pull-ups. We have limited drinks, and as part of the routine we make her sit on the loo for a wee after she has brushed her teeth.

Touch wood, we have had only a few wet nights, and that was quite a few months ago. Also, make sure you get some Pampers Bed Mats - they are fab!

Finally, we offered good stars if she was dry, and loads of praise.

Good Luck!

OK, off to bed soon I think, as am knackered.

Hugs to everyone. xx

Sexonknackeredlegs · 28/06/2007 21:44

JoMa, I would agree with you re the lifting. Tbh, we also couldn't be arsed with it, as just saw it as something she would get used to, and then need to be weaned off iyswim!

oooggs · 28/06/2007 21:47

Bramshott I have just read this

www.mumsnet.com/Talk?topicid=1800&threadid=344912

JoMa · 28/06/2007 21:47

Maveta- lasinoh pads are exactly the same as Tommee Tippee ones if you can get hold of them cheaper

OP posts:
oooggs · 28/06/2007 21:48

ds1 is 3.6 and his nappy in the morning is full to bursting - no chance of it happening here soon. Anyway dry during the day again would be fantastic

oooggs · 28/06/2007 21:50

Maveta - dt's are in 1.0 tog grobag and a babygro, ds1 in shortie pjs and a 4.5 tog duvet, dh in nought & 4.5tog duvet and I am in bed with DH wearing winter pj's, bed socks, hot water bottle & extra blanket over my feet. I really feel the cold at night

JoMa · 28/06/2007 21:52

it won't be happening here anytime soon either Oooggs, Matthew will be 4 in September but pull-ups are still soaking in the morning so not even gonna try it!

OP posts:
Bramshott · 28/06/2007 21:56

Hmm, I'm feeling worried now. Pull-up is always sodden in the morning, but I sort of suspect she is fully aware of what she's doing as she has in the past told me that she's weed in it before she goes to sleep. Won't know until we try I suppose! Better plan to get some more single sheets (only have 2 atm) and some bedmats tomorrow.

JoMa · 28/06/2007 21:59

knowing she's done it before she goes to sleep comes a while before knowing shell need to go while she's asleep iyswim, it's quite normal for children to still need nappies at night much older than your dd, docs don't see it as a problem until they are 7

OP posts:
Bramshott · 28/06/2007 22:03

Thanks for all the advice guys. I'm quite relaxed about it not working (still have 2 packs of pull-ups!), but think I should at least try as she is pretty resistant to the idea of putting it on at night these days, and as she's off to school in Sept, and is starting to have sleepovers with friends, I feel we should at least give it a go.

Off to bed now. Will report on how the great night-time training experiment is going!

JoMa · 28/06/2007 22:06

good luck!
