HumphreysCorner · 04/07/2007 21:33

Happy 1st Birthday Michael ! -sorry to hear he is poorly.

Poor little Ryan too. Hoping it isn't the pox.

Clever, clever Bella-no wonder you are proud.

Ceebee-get you and your Spanish. My learn Spanish discs seem to have hidden themselves away-must did them out and make the effort. I speak Spanish into the microphone on my laptop and it tells me if I sound native or tourist and the pointer always goes to native

Picked Em up at 12-30pm and she was shattered but had an excellent time at school. Noticed that the shops are selling school uniforms and can't believe that I will have to buy Em one this year.

usandnosleep-have read all the Hills/Roxy threads. What on earth is going on?

kayzed-hope Roshi had a truly special day.

Annie-you never fail to make me and

Have got DH's Grandma's funeral at 3pm tomorrow.

Love to all

HumphreysCorner · 04/07/2007 21:36

x-posts. Clever, clever Roshi too. She sounds so like how Em was with all the things she is doing (apart from talking as Em didn't do that until 20 months).

evening lovely ladies - just a quick one to pass on this in case it's useful for anyone still, like me, looking for first birthday present ideas (haven't bought any yet )

Early Learning Centre do 20% off if you join the birthday club, and have lots of non-pink stuff! Ignore the thing about it taking up to 8 weeks to process your application, it took about 3 seconds for them to do mine.

Their ELC classics section has some nice ideas

ELC

Have good nights all xx

Ceebee74 · 05/07/2007 07:45

Ok - time to fess up. I can't speak a word of Spanish (other than 'dos vino blanco por favour') but I googled a translating site to find out what happy birthday was

HC - glad that Em enjoyed herself. It is such a big moment when they go to school and I can't say I am looking forward to it even though it is still 3 years away.

Us - judging by the spelling mistakes, it must have been a GOOD night

Happy belated birthday to Michael (don't think we have met Oldiemum but hi)

FirstAtForty · 05/07/2007 10:01

A big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Ryan - how's he doing Impy?

And a belated Happy Birthday to Michael too!!

AnnieAlcoholLeft · 05/07/2007 10:16

Morning Ladeeez,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RYAN!!!!

And Belated Happy Birthday to Michael! Welcome back Oldie!!

Hope both the birthday babies are not too poorly.

Hi First

Us, sounds like a good night!!

HC, glad I could make you smile, with my ramblings. Hope all goes well this afternoon,

Buy anything nice Pink? Anything pink??

KZ, congrats to Roshi!! How fantastic! Hope all the KZ's had a great day yesterday.

(Happy 30th SoHappy!! (think that's right?))

We're off to playgroup in a mo, so I best get everyone's shoes on. Peppa Pig is a godsend when I'm trying to get organised.
DH is at work again today, so I have them all to myself!! Today I will mostly be doing it MY WAY!!! Though he did leave instructions to take them to the clinic and get them weighed, but sod that...

Thinking about potty training Joey, so we've got him a potty, but he keeps throwing it in the air, and making 'tea' with it, so maybe he's not quite ready...

Best go girls, chat later on

Annie

FirstAtForty · 05/07/2007 12:20

Hi Annie hope playgroup's fun!

Hope this afternoon goes okay HC

Happy Birthday to Sohappy, hope you're having a lovely time

HumphreysCorner · 05/07/2007 12:26

Happy 1st Birthday Ryan ! Hope he is OK today.

Better push on as need to eat and down soluble aspirin before the funeral.

HumphreysCorner · 05/07/2007 12:29

Oh, keep up girl. Happy B'Day to Sohappy too. Don't overdo the vino or you will only regret it in the morning when you've got toddlers jumping on your head at dawn!

kbaby · 05/07/2007 14:16

Still nor sure what to get DS for his Birthday. It?s a toss up between a ELC car garage, a Tomy toddler keyboard or a armchair with a light etc or my fave is a bouncy zebra(dh isn?t keen though) He has so many things passed down from DD that either he has it or something very similar.

Hc ? I can sympathise with you. DD starts afternoons in September and I know I will be a wreak. We have to buy her uniform this afternoon and they seem so small. I hope the funeral goes ok.
Impy ? I hope its not chicken pox and he can enjoy his birthday.

Ds is making progress on the walking front. Hes done 4 steps on his own. Hes quite particular about doing it though and if I try and get him to show someone he flatly refuses to even stand. Hes taken to playing peekaboo, if you say ?wheres james? he hides his face with his hands.
No news from Bloss this week?

Right must go as I have to wake DS and try and get him to eat his dinner and changed before we go out at 3.(whats the betting im late)

ImpyChica · 05/07/2007 19:13

Hi ladies

Thanks for all the birthday and get well wishes for Ryan.... I can't quite believe it but he was on top form today - so it doesn't look like the pox - hurray!!!! He had a little party at his nursery and then hung out with me and a friend in the afternoon. All your talk of what to buy your LOs makes me feel bad - we only bought him a small thing. I wanted to see what everyone else got him and then will buy him something to fill in any gaps (though to be honest, doesn't look like there will be any - he's so spoiled!)

My main present to him was a letter I've been writing the past few months, documenting all his landmarks and generally being soppy. And there's his blog that I've updated nearly every week of his life, which I might try and make into a book or something.

Clever Roshi for walking - what a star!

Hope you get your laptop back soon Pretty! Limited use ain't good!

¡Que lista eres, HC, con tu acento nativo! I certainly don't have a native accent, that's for sure. Not looking forward to Ryan correcting my Spanish and being embarrassed by the way I talk...! Hope the funeral goes ok....

Hope the hangover's not too bad Us

LOL at Joey and his potty, Annie! How old is he? 16?

Bloss is on hol, Kbaby. I think for 2 weeks....

Hugs to all, Impy x

Ceebee74 · 05/07/2007 19:41

Impy - glad Ryan was ok today and had a fabulous day. I love the idea of a letter - that really will be something to treasure.

HC - hope today went ok

Kbaby - a big congratulations to your DS on walking. Josh is still cruising quite happily and doesn't appear to have any intention of letting go.

Don't know if any of you saw the story in the papers about 3 nurses who were killed in Mozambique at the weekend? Just realised that I went to school with one of them - a bit of a shock even though I haven't seen her for at least 15 years. Just seeing the photo of her makes me sad as she looks exactly the same.

Had to go out and buy a whole new set of crockery today - our old ones were not dishwasher proof which is a slight problem now that DH has plumbed the dishwasher in!

OP posts:
FirstAtForty · 05/07/2007 20:34

Aaaw Impy, so glad he was able to celebrate his birthday in the end! That?s a lovely idea re the letter.

One of these days I?m going to go back through all my MN posts and pick out the notes on Emma?s little milestones ? and also make an album from the thousands of digital photos? I think I?ll have to take a couple of months off work to do that, better get on with it before she?s 21!

Lol at the potty tossing Annie

Ceebee ? what a great pic of Josh, what a star. It?s so gorgeous when they clap isn?t it.

HC ? can?t remember if I said but lovely (and funny) pic of the girls ? Em?s smiling dutifully but has a definite ?get on with it? look about her

Big claps to Bella, James and Roshi on their walking!!! Can?t remember, is anybody else walking yet? Emma?s certainly not, though she?s going great guns on cruising and crawling. And a first last night ? went in while she was asleep and she was lying on her front, I think that was the first time she has managed to get from her front to her back unaided

Us ? hurrah, a pished night out Must have one of those myself soon.

re the IL?s Beadmum, they sound like a right pain. I suppose at least they aren?t omnipresent and interfering, if that?s of any comfort (which it probably isn?t, sorry).

Work won?t slacken off really till the end of the month, grrr, but hopefully better after that? apart from that things are fine, Emma?s gorgeous and very cute. She loves jigging around to music as well, and has taken to mimicking me when I shrug at her and grin, I wondered what the hell she was up to at first, then realised she was just copying me and my idiotic gestures ? better watch what I?m doing from now on

Hi to everybody - have good nights all xxx

FirstAtForty · 05/07/2007 20:37

Kbaby just remembered you said James was walking too, sorry - big clap for him too!!

How awful about your friend Ceebee, so unfair and senseless too

FirstAtForty · 05/07/2007 20:40

and doh - meant 'first time she had got from her back to her front unaided'... I'm going to make tea now and stop drinking on an empty stomach!

Evening ladies!

Am just going to start drinking on a empty stomach. Just got them both to sleep and now waiting for dh to come home with the curry he promised me for taking tomorrow off work so he can work again!

KZ hope you get a good sleep tonight! Love the boys loving the dolly! I wanted to get K a dolly too, like the one jom linked to, but DH doesn't approve. Cos it doesn't 'do' anything. Silly man. I don't do anything much, and he puts up with me...

HC hope it went ok today. [hug]

First, lol at 'potty tossing'!!! I think I'll let him get it all out of his system before using it for what it's meant for.
Otherwise can you imagine ... Emma sounds just adorable!! Kayley also copies us, but even more she copies Joey, and he copies her too, so it can go round in circles a bit.

CB so about your friend.

Impy, glad the birthday went well. What a lovely idea!! LOl at 16!!

Hi Skay!!!

BLOSS WE MISS YOU! Hope you're not being rained on too much x x x

Right, off to pop that cork

Nite all

Annie

jom · 05/07/2007 21:28

Happy birthday Ryan, glad to hear you had a 'healthy' birthday

Happy belated birthday for you Michael. Hope tomorrow (take two) goes well for you You must update us Oldiemum! Is he still a big boy- from memory he was 11 lb born (or have I got it totally wrong?)

Is it Seftons birthday today too? Or am I getting confused- must look up that list...Happy birthday if it is, and happy birthday in advance if I'm early

HC Hope all went OK for you this afternoon. Glad Emma had a great day at school. What a big girl! My DS will be 4 at the end of October but wont start school until next September which I think will work well for him. As they say boys develop slower and all that.

First@F Love some of those toys in that classics range - that doll is much cuter than the one I was looking at - just hope amelia thinks shes as kissable lol. May have to have a bit of a rethink on the pressies....too much to choose from.

WELL DONE to all the walkers. Amelia is cruising and has just started letting go and standing for a couple of seconds and will let go to cruise between different things, oh and she loves to climb. Really have to watch her now.
