quick update - inlaws turned up at door just as dh was home from work, dd just finished tea and only half an hour til bathtime. fil had a go at me as i was not all smiles and greeting them when they came in (excuse me i was cleaning child and highchair & not seen/heard from you in almost a month) so i gave as good as back all went into the living room and you could cut the atmosphere with a knife, v.uncomfortable, they stayed for an hour then left. cant see how things can be normal again, guess i'll have to learn to grin & bear it for charlottes benefit

no older siblings but used to work in nursery and think she would have done some of this there so dont want her miss out by being at home with me plus i cant wait to do painting, play dough, baking
guess i'll need to get her a dolly at some point but was bit of a tomboy myself too and dollys arent the best looking rolemodels these days

Beadmum · 03/07/2007 21:37

inlaws are being pita right now, think they can pop in whenever they feel like, was the first time in a month mind you after dh told his mum yesterday he would rather they called first (we're not really popping in people, like to plan things )

Kittenkat- What a wonderful BF you have.
HC- you have the most beautiful girls. I love their curls.
Kayzed- Happy Birthday little Roshi for tomorrow.

Ive changed DS party plans about a million times so far. Now we are having a Bar BQ the weekend before for DH to get pissed at and then well have a small 1st Birthday tea party the day of his Birthday and we are taking him to a farm as he loves the animals.

Change of subject completely but,After waiting 5 yrs for a new kitchen we finally had an extension and new kitchen last year and now DH has decided theres a house for sale hes always wanted and can we move!! So weve got a valuation and a viewing booked for Saturday. I don?t think we can stretch to the mortgage as it would be £300 more each month but DH insists that if he sells his car and doesn?t have his loan anymore well be fine. Im hoping after viewing the house he may be put off the idea.

I hope you all realise the Pink and dolls will catch up with you eventually. DD is Disney princess mad and anything pink in Asda we must buy even a pink foot massager!

Twinklemegan · 03/07/2007 22:18

Hello everyone. I haven't posted in a while cos I haven't got around to catching up with all your chit chat.

Happy Birthday to Roshi for tomorrow and to Ryan for Thursday!! And Happy belated birthday to Bella!

I haven't much to say really, except we went to an evening wedding party on Friday. It was 2 hours away and we had to take Aidan. He was absolutely marvellous the whole evening - I think he even upstaged the bride. And we didn't suffer for it at all the next day - he can be so so good when he wants to be.

we have tooth no. 3 (made me ROFL as my retired dentist father was brave enough last week to explore his mouth and pronounced that there wouldn't be another one for at least a couple of months lol).

No other news really. I'm on leave from work this week and just enjoying spending time with my little boy. I think we interact a lot better once I've been home for a couple of days - I guess I'm more relaxed which makes him happier. I know I won't want to go back next week.

Oh, and we FINALLY have a date for the Christening as my lurvely family have finally agreed on a date when none of them have anything better to do (well that's how it feels). So now I can start planning at long last. It's the week after his first birthday so it's going to be rather busy here I think. Not to mention expensive.

Hope everyone is well. I too wonder about Koshka - hope she's OK.

xx

jom · 03/07/2007 22:51

saw this today kz when out on my mission to find amelia a pres. (Second one on page) She wanted to kiss it (so cute) so may need to go back and get it. The ones you posted look cute, may have a look at those too as I know some of my family from Oz are sending money.

She has so many toys from DS she doesn't really need anything but her toy collection definitely needs a pink injection to mix well with the cars/ trains etc - although I'm taking note of your warnings Beadmum.

Has anyone had any experience with that Tomy tent/ activity thingy? Could also be a possiblity. (Couldn't find it on their website but saw it in store)

Cute girls HC.

HumphreysCorner · 04/07/2007 09:25

Happy 1st Birthday Roisin ! Hope you all have a lovely day.

Girls-have taken Emma to big school this morning-she will stay until 12-30am. Gosh, had such a big lump in my throat-was glad to get back in the car. This nice little school girl took Emma under her wing and I left them playing playdoh so I know she will be fine. Just need to stalk some prospective friendly mums at the school gate-one did say morning so might have to stalk her to be my new best friend Wonder if any are MNetters

Had Sophie weighed and she is still 18 lb 3 lb the same as she was when I last got her weighed a month ago. Suppose she is more active now with all her speedy crawling.

Have a good day ladies. Thank you for all your nice comments about my girls-you would never guess Em was such a terror. In the school she was shouting-get your hand off my shoulder to me. I know it hurts a tad after her jabs yesterday but really.

xxx

jom · 04/07/2007 10:13

Happy birthday to roshi Hope all in the KZ house have a great day

How old is Em, HC? Is she starting reception or nursery? I remember feeling sad when DS got accepted into his nursery thinking that I was losing him every afternoon but he loves it so much and I think its often much harder for us than it is them. Mind you I'm sure I'll still have a lump in my throat when he starts school And its amazing how well thay can behave when they have to. I think DS saves all his 'behaviour' for us.

HumphreysCorner · 04/07/2007 10:32

jom-Em is 3. She will be 4 on the 19th July but still starts big school full time on the 10th September. She is ready for it due to her hyper tendencies but it will still be a sad time as it is a permanent thing.

AnnieAlcoholLeft · 04/07/2007 11:08

Morning Girls!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROSHI!!!!!!!!!! Have a wonderful day in the KZ house!

Jom, a lovely suggestion for a pressie. Might even go for that myself. Same as you, K has all DS's toys, cars, trains etc, so a slight injection of girlieness wouldn't be any harm. I did warn everyone when I knew I was having a girl, that I didn't want ANYthing pink, but I've changed my tune now, though, still only small amounts!!

Don't know what we're doing yet for the Big One, but the in-laws will be down, so it'll be more for their benefit than little Kayley's...

Twinkle, good to hear from you!! Aiden sounds gorgeous (and we know he is!!)

Kbaby, good luck with the viewing, hope it goes your way...

Beadmum, ILs... why oh why must we have them...

Must go girls, boss is away today and I have lots of skiving to do!!

Annie

KittenKat · 04/07/2007 13:31

happy Birthday Roshi! Have a great day!

Pink - oh dear, we became a bit pink obsessed, to the point we are purposefully not buying pink right now to try to dull it. Not so much things, but clothes! She has a girly bedroom with pink blankets but not pink sheets, and has colour in paintings, mobiles etc.

DD has 9th teeth on way, possibly even 10! . She has many more than she should I am sure of it!

Second morning back at work today, did little as it should be!

AnnieAlcoholLeft · 04/07/2007 14:16

Exactly as it should be, Kitten!!

Beadmum · 04/07/2007 14:49

just popping into say HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROSHI

Just a quickie to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the lovely Roshi!!!

Bless her with her fave spag bol dinner (will she have a candle in it ), hope you all have a lovely birthday tea and great party tomorrow. xxx

btw congrats on the house move Wallace

Hi to everybody, will catch up soon xxx

KittenKat · 04/07/2007 18:10

DD took 5 steps on her own at nursery today , with no prompting, just upped and went!
Apparantly the two carers there were talking about how cute it would be if she started walking, as she is so little, and then 10 seconds later she did!!

[very proud mummy emoticon]

Ceebee74 · 04/07/2007 18:49

Wow Kitten - how fantastic of Bella - there will be no stopping her now!

HC - how did Em's morning go? (And how was yours?)

KZ - hope Roshi enjoyed her spag bol (lol at f@f suggestion with the candle) and all her pressies.

Feliz cumpleaños to Ryan for tomorrow. (I really hope that is correct Impy and I have not said anything rude ). No doubt you will be enjoying a party outside whilst we all cower from the rain yet again!

Shopping trip was good - but very damp. I got absolutely soaked and it reminded me why I prefer going to the big indoors shopping centre! Although I did discover a really cool childrens clothes shop - Pumpkin Patch. I have never seen it before and got some lovely clothes for Josh. Also got him a couple more Amazing Animals for his train as they were on sale. Had lunch in Nandos (again, never been there before) which I really enjoyed and it was great not having to pick up all Josh's mess at the end But me and DH did realise how useful a pushchair is for carrying bags/coats etc - missed it loads today (and Josh obviously).

Having a fridge/freezer and dishwasher delivered tomorrow - DH is going to plumb the dishwasher in himself which should be "interesting"

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROSHI!!!! (Though you'll probably be tucked up in bed by the time I get to post this....). Hugs from the Impy clan. Loved your birth announcement, KZ, can't believe how fast it was.

And HAPPY BIRTHDAY for tomorrow, SoHappy. Hope you're having fun up in Glasgow

Fab pix Kbaby, glad you had fun. Cripes on the house viewing! What if you both fall in love with it...!? I know we can't live in our flat forever but the thought of going through all the palaver of selling, buying, packing etc etc makes me want to stay here till we retire.... thinking of building mezzaine floor in Ry's room for his future siblings...

Hope the work's slacking off, Forty. That just won't do! Sympathies to you all on the weather - I did warn you you were having your summer back in April [ducks head to avoid flying objects thrown from jealous soggy peeps]

Zack sounds lovely, Us. I tried to get Ryan scribbling with a pen today but he was more interested in chewing it... you've obviously got a budding Picasso/Shakespeare on your hands!

Good old Kayley sounds like she's nearly there on the walking, Annie! I'm in denial about Ryan walking, even though he's cruising loads and gaining more confidence every day - I just can't imagine my little baby walking!

What a darling Aidan is, Twinkle. Wouldn't dare take Ry to an evening party - if he's not in bed by 8pm at the latest, there's all hell to pay!

Lovely pix Pav/Kat - Bella lives up to her name! Glad you had a great time. Your friend sounds brilliant. Great news about the walking!

So sorry about the inlaws, Bead. That's just horrible. I hope you can sort things out. Are they totally oblivious to the hurt they've caused?

Loved the pix CB. I could just eat Josh for tea! He's gorgeous. (I am a sucker for big brown eyes). Perfect Spanish mate! Thank you! Glad you finally got to spend a day with DH on your own.

Love the pix of your girls, HC - bless! Ahhh - can imagine how weird it must be to drop them off at big school {{hugs}}

Congrats on the move Wallace - hurray!

Well I don't think it's gonna be a very happy birthday for my little man tomorrow - he's poorly (fever, rash, appetite loss) and I've got a nasty suspicion that it could be the start of chicken pox as several babies at his nursery have had it.... PANTS. I joked at the time that I bet he'd get it for his birthday - why couldn't I keep my mouth shut?! Looks like we'll have to cancel his birthday party picnic on Saturday.... Oh well - least he's not aware of missing out on anything - it was all mainly for me and dp. Still stinks though....

Onwards and upwards, least I get a few days off work to look after him!

KittenKat · 04/07/2007 19:36

Impy - oh no! Poor thing . There has been lots of pox here too, DD missed it i think, but she had a 3 day fever last week. No other symptoms, apart from apetite loss but to be expected. I hope he recovers well soon, and can enjoy some of his birthday tomorrow.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RYAN for tomorrow - I hope you feel better little one .

OldieMum · 04/07/2007 19:41

Hello to you. I haven't posted for a long time. Great to hear how our soon-to-be toddlers are doing so well. We are all enjoying life. Michael is one today. We had planned a little party, but, unfortunately, he has gone down with a bug and vomited five times by lunchtime. He didn't seem particularly ill, otherwise, but there didn't seem much point in having a party where the guest of honour was throwing up. We'll try again on Friday.

They are at such a lovely stage now, aren't they? So interested in everything and feeling like real little people.

Best wishes to you all.
