In honour of Sophie's impending birthday this week, I thought I would start a new thread....

kz- im really nervous about driving the car with the dc onboard!! since ive been taking lessons thats what used to make me nervous all the time!!

but that will all recide once im on the road hopefully and im sure i'll be getting a lot of dirty looks!

FirstAtForty · 05/08/2007 22:23

Hi Girls

Kayzed - have emailed you, I?m still on for meeting up. Lol at Roshi and the subwoofer, amazing that she can do the shape sorting though

Emma has just worked out how to stack her shapes into a tower (and applauds herself at every brick ) but really hasn?t got to grips with the shape sorting.

Twinkle - big congrats on the job and move to bonny Scotland, how very exciting

Impy - lol at your dream about me demanding cake!! Tho? it?s more likely I would have been demanding if any wine was left Gorgeous pics of Ryan, he?s such a sweetie. Hope he?s better soon.

Kbaby - well done on the cake, looks fab! Lovely pics too, he looks like he?s having a wonderful time!

Wallace - gorge pics of Leo, isn?t he clever standing up in the shower by himself! Emma would go flying if I left her to her own devices in the bath.

Beadmum - it was difficult at times being away, had a few teary moments. It was 4 nights and best part of 5 days. Luckily I suppose it was so busy all the time I didn?t have much time to think about it. Anyway that?s it now, don?t have to do it again anytime soon. Re milk/formula, I wouldn?t worry, I think there?s too much emphasis on milk in the diet sometimes. As long as they are eating healthily otherwise at this age they should be fine I reckon.

Bloss - back online, hurrah indeed it?s hell without broadband isn?t it!

Has anyone else had really bad PMT symptoms when they stopped bf? I?m cutting down quite a lot now - not really by choice, I think the supply dwindled while I was away, and Emma isn?t really prepared to try that hard, so feeds are short and only once a day now. I?ve been in the foulest bad mood for a couple of days now though (poor DP), and quite bloated (that could just be chocolate I suppose though )

Well better stop, this is getting quite long!

Love to all xxx

Twinkle ? Congratulations!! What fantastic news and what a lovely place you will be living in to bring Aidan up. Glad the christening went well ? looking forward to the piccies.

Bloss ? I can?t believe how much you get done ? sometimes I find it hard to make the effort to take Josh for a walk! Hope the cake goes well ? although with you being the Goddess, it should be no problem Really hope you can still make the meet-up

HC ? well done Em with the dancing. What a lovely day you had yesterday ? can?t beat the English seaside can you?

Impy ? hope Ry is on the mend ? it is awful when they are ill and off their food isn?t it?

Kbaby ? what lovely photos. DS looks so mature ? like a proper little toddler! And the cake looks fab.

Wallace ? yet more gorgeous photos ? I am with First on this one ? very impressive standing up in the shower! And about the running. I love exercise but running is the one thing I cannot do ? absolutely hate it! I really wish I could run for ages but there seems to be something in my mind that stops me ? it must be great to run for an hour. Well done!!

KZ ? have e-mailed you ? definitely coming next week. Booked into a hotel in Stratford for Sunday and Monday with DH and Josh so we are making a mini-break out of it (it looks like this is the only holiday we will be getting this summer )

Has anyone any ideas on how I can stop Josh eating stones? The edge of our conservatory is filled in with stones and everytime we take him into the garden, he heads straight for them and starts putting them in his mouth! I am so nervous about him swallowing one that I hate taking him outside to play now as it is just too fraught ? which is a real shame. He doesn?t respond to ?no?, thinks it is funny and me and Dh just spend the entire time picking him up ? no fun at all!

Anyway, have a good day x

CeeBee - it is SUCH A Shag when they constantly put things in their mouths we too have litle stones in our garden, and they are a total PITA. I have adopted the NOOOO tactic and pick him up and move him far away from the offending articles only for him to crawl straight back to them, although having said that we do seem to be moving past him doing that, so I do have to watch him but he doesn't do it nearly so often any more.....

Sitting here in the garden while grumpy Toby sleeps and H does feet painting. Jeez what a mess. He has been banned from setting foot in the house unless he has been attacked with the hose.......

AnnieOleHouseElf · 06/08/2007 17:00

Hi folks,

Thanks for all your support re the swimming! Am dead chuffed! I was intending to go again today, but I've been very busy at work, so I'll go tomorrow I promise. I would go right now, but DH wants me home so that he can go and buy a sink

Had a lovely HOT!! weekend, even stupidly managed to get sunburnt. How stupid am I, after 30 years, to not know how to protect myself?? I was slathering on Factor 50 on the babies, got them to sleep, so I thought I'd sit outside for a minute until they woke, they didn't wake for over an hour. Silly silly Annie. Anyway it's not too bad, just STUPID.

Kayley has progressed to walking distances! She walked all the way across the room (and the garden) several times, and can even get up from sitting now, and off she goes, no need to climb up on anything. Of course Joey ruins it all by running at her and knocking her over, thinking it's hilarious...

Bloss, lol at H and his feet painting! My two spent the weekend in their wetsuits in the garden, and were only allowed in if they stripped off! (see photo on profile, thuogh that was taken the last sunny day we had, sometime in May...)

Ceebee, Kayley's the same with stones, and soil. Just have to keep watching her, and distracting her with bubbles or balls or something.

KZ LOL at Chi's 18 month vocab!! Sounds like he meant it too!!

Cheers First!! Didn't make the beer garden this weekend as DH was working, but I did have a few sneaky glasses of wine in the garden. Almost as good! Hope the 'PMT' is better soon x

Twinkle!!! Congratulations! Well done you! Here's to a New Life in the Country!! Hope Aiden's christening is going well!

Wallace, Leo is so gorgeous!! And I'm in awe of you running like that. I personally hate running. And it does my knees in. Give me a nice easy breaststroke or a yoga class any day. (Yeah, Annie, that's why you have a big load of flab where your hip bones used to be...)

kbaby, also gorgeous photos of James! I must admit I did think of you at first re the Immaculate Conception thing, but I ruled you out as that girl seemed to have no idea, whereas you seem very aware of something going on, even with all the -ve results. Hope all is well now [hug]

Right, Hello to everyone else, really must go,

Bye
Annie

Wallace · 06/08/2007 18:03

Just skimming - will read properly later

Hooray twinkle, my soon to be almost neighbour!

Re the stones in the mouth:

Um (far too relaxed third time mum alert) Leo does the same. In fact he actually throws them in the dog's water bowl first (makes a nice noise) then picks them up and sucks them I mostly ignore him

TheGoddessBlossom · 06/08/2007 18:20

Mislaid : One previously amiable, rather well fleshed nearly 1 year old, answers to Toby, or more recently Grumpy, blonde, 6 teeth. Jeepers Creepers where the hell did he go? I swear Toby has not stopped crying/whinging/screaming/complaining for three days now. Wakes up (extra early) in a strop which just carries on unless his nouth is full of food, and even then he moands between mouthfuls. Harry (who is poorly but even so) asked to go to bed early this eveing to get away from him. I have never known him to be like this, it is either 1) teeth, 2) a bit of what H has got minus the temperature, or 3) he is just being his Father's Son. If it's 3) I'm in the shit basically. He is currently whinging in his cot. Have only got him off to sleep the past three nights with a healthy dollop of Medised. We've all been up (I say all, not DH ) since 4.40am and I am bloody knackered.

Am doing a Pretty Mum again and have just retrieved a can of Guiness from the fridge in the garage ( I hate guiness) and have rendered it just about palatable with an inch of ribena......

Wallace · 06/08/2007 18:34

bloss, Leo is exactly the same at the moment. whing whinge etc. Blaming it on teeth too

Ceebee74 · 06/08/2007 18:55

Bloss/Wallace - exactly the same here too - I myself have been wondering where my 'dream' baby has gone - all I get now is whinge, tantrum, whinge, tantrum and so on! Must be something in the air.....

Wallace - I guess I am still in PFB mode as I am so paranoid about Josh swallowing the stones and choking

OP posts:
prettymum · 06/08/2007 20:10

junior not well here either! woke up around 6am and he was really hot all day and only wanted to be held and cuddled too! put some medised with his milk but i think he realised something was dfferent so didnt finish it! but hes fast asleep now. think he's teething too, probably the back ones.

i'll join bloss with a drink, my rum and nourishment mixture as usual, dp regrets introducing it to me now!

TheGoddessBlossom · 06/08/2007 20:57

ooh, sorry you are going through it too girls, but glad I'm not alone! It has completely done my brain in today. I did have to try and ignore it a bit today just to get anything done, but most of the time had to stop and pick him up just so my head didn't explode.

Took both boys out for a walk late afternoon but got completely caught in a rain storm and we all got drenched - I reckon I would have been a match for Wallace as I pegged it back about a mile pushing a double buggy with 4 stone plus of boys in it, in the pouring rain we got soaked, but Toby seemed to find it amusing. Plonked them both in a hot bath, and after that pretty much had to just sit on the floor with Toby while he crawled over me crying, couldn't even get up to make a cup of tea.

I did give him Calpol just in case he was in pain from something but it didn't seem to have much effect. Here's hopeing we don't start the day quite so early tomorrow morning and he's in a better mood.....

x

kbaby · 06/08/2007 21:28

We too have 1 very clingy baby at the moment. Hes ok when im not here but from the minute I arrive back from work I cant leave him or do anything. Hes quite happy if I just sit down in one place not doing anything but if I try and do anything ie housework or dinner then he screams his head off.

Kayzed- after my attempt at trying to make DD some thank you cards for her birthday I gave up on DS and have just bought some.
Check these out pic50.picturetrail.com/VOL470/9277295/16996224/270094383.jpg

kbaby · 06/08/2007 21:29

btw his name was on them hence the scribbling.

FirstAtForty · 06/08/2007 22:02

Hi Girls

Kbaby - gosh fab thank you card, good idea. Bit late for mine this year, just bought some from the stationers, will work on a Christmas one (omg, not that far away )

To all those with demon children - yep, got one too? VERY occasionally she is in a good enough mood to be left playing in the playpen for more than five minutes without whinging / screeching / whining - otherwise she needs constant companionship, encouragement, approbation, etc etc

Ceebee - It?s bloody hard work, isn?t it - I?m not relaxed enough to just let her crawl anywhere on the (minging) floors eating bits that have fallen off the dog?s bum (though why I even bother worrying I don?t know, the dog is determined to firmly wipe her arse into the very bit of carpet all the toys are on) - so it?s a constant round of ?NO, you be careful?? ?NO, that will hurt if you fling yourself off it?? ?NO don?t eat that? god it?s wearing isn?t it. And yes she laughs when I tell her, grrr. Wallace, I think I?ll be coming round to your way of thinking sooner rather than later.

Lol Bloss and Prettymum with your cocktails - I have just one suggestion for you both - order bargain booze in bulk, have it delivered, put it in a rack for when you require it. When you have it delivered you don?t even have to endure the ?having a party??? questions at the checkout

Bummer on the sunburn Annie - I?ve got one of those burny complexions, so annoying isn?t it.

Am off for a few days again girls visiting the IL?s, so it?s (gulp) cold turkey on the internet till the weekend?. Till then xxx

I can't beleive Roshi sleeps that long in the avo KZ, what bliss, so you get three hours with Chi after school to do one on one stuff how amazing! I only get H's play doh, paints pens and pencils etc out when T in bed or it all ends up on the floor with H in a state.

LOL First at Emma eating bits from the dogs bum, ROFL. She should come round here and try one of my dinners, I reckon she'd be hard pushed to decide which one tastes better. HAHAHA.

KBaby - blimey I may have to relinquish my Goddess crown. First the cake, now those cards, I LOVE them, consider yourself copied again! Although will deign to make up my own poem, yours is so sweet! BLESS!

Hope the wether is good tomorrow, or we won't be going to Finkley Down Farm. T a leeeeetle better this morning but we will see how this afternoon goes. H seems better too, but got up at 5.10 the sinner.

zzzzzzzzzzzzz

AnnieOleHouseElf · 07/08/2007 11:23

Hey girls,

Gosh, sorry bout all the grumpy chops. I feel for you all, I do, as I've been there, but at the moment, Kayley is nothing but delightful. As she waddles across the room, she looks round and gives us a big cheeky grin, as if to say, Look at ME!! I'm WALKING!! And since the doctor gave us a much stronger steroid cream, her eczema has really cleared up (touch wood and hope this doesn't jinx it), so she's obviously less uncomfortable and scratchy.
She seems to know an awful lot of words too, she makes the right sound for whatever she's pointing at, car, hat, bubbles, Peppa (the favourite, also when she points at the remote!) ball, and more that I can't think of right now.
Yesterday when I got home, she cried Mama, and WALKED to me!!! I can't quite believe how quickly she has learnt stuff...

First, are you of Irish descent with your complexion too? That's what I blame it on. I hate people who can just turn brown at the first ray of sunlight. Grrrrrr.

Fantastic Thank You card, kbaby!! Must get round to doing some... two weeks later whoops...

Hope all those babies cheer up soon!!!

Have a good day everyone

Annie

Hi all

Hope all are well-just a quickie and I'll catch up later.

Went to WW last night and lost 9 1/2 lb Have only got 7 lb to go thanks to the awful sickness bug. Found out though that when I asked MIL to take the Members Registration cards to the class last week she forgot until 7pm by which time the leader and staff had to write all the weights on paper and someone had to take them home and copy them all onto the cards. Apparently MIL couldn't bring herself to confess to me but also turns out she called round at the house of one of the clerks and said she felt awful about forgetting to deliver the Slimming World cards on time. Needless to say the clerk wondered who this mad woman was so I was able to say-my MIL!

Me too got sunburnt yesterday-not painful but a tad redder than I would have liked. I only sat out for a short while but forgot the sun lotion

Time for my tea so be back later after Holby of course although DH and I were making cups of tea at 2-15am this morning. Then we just got to sleep and the house alarm went off at 3-15am so spent ages downstairs looking for the likely cause. So yawnnnnnnn all day for me. Am reading Stephen King's Insomnia and I seem to be mirroring the lead character.

Love to all

HC
