Hurray Hurray I@m back online at home, on a brand new spanking HP laptop!! God I've missed having t'interweb at home!! In fact, the delivery guy delivered two laptops , I didn't realise it at the time, thought one of the boxes had cables and gubbins in, but no, two identical HP Notebooks....will see if I get billed for two before I celebrate good fortune...on the flip side got a parking ticket today....

We have been soooooooooooooo busy here. Out and about with the boys loads in the glorious sunshine this week, went to the beach one day, the park, a friends house with 10 kids there (it was mayhem), the park again today to see a magician, had the paddling pool out all day today, boys ar knackered. Whisper it, but they are also starting to sleep later, we are only talking by about 30 minutes or so, and it will probably revert tomorrow morning now that I have mentioned it, but you never know....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ALL THE BABIES!!!

CONGRATS PRETTYMUM!!

Got my work techie friend round here this afternoon to configure the new PC and get me back online, he got a slab of Stella for his trouble though.

Toby is not very well I don't think, has a temperature until I give him Calpol, slept quite a bit today which is u nusual, and is very clingy and whingy and completely off his food...

Got my niece's birthday party tomorrow, 'lil Lily, looking forward to that as I am allowed to have a few bevvies - then another birthday party on Sunday, DH's turn for some beers.

I love this weather so much, is this it now or is the forecast ok for next week too? Thinking of FInkley Down Farm for Toby's birthday on Wednesday, got loads of their little mates going too, am going to buy them all a packet of Sunflower seeds in lieu of party bags etc.

RIght, off to get H in bed, then quaff Rose, will be back online later, IT'S GREAT TO BE BACK!!

Annie bloody well done on Swimming. I was s determined to start again this week too, but it fell by the wayside. I even did the ironing rather than go! You have inspired me, might go on Monday...

HumphreysCorner · 03/08/2007 20:38

Go Annie , Go Annie ! Rah Rah Rah !

prettymum-Very well done girl. Sooooo much better once you can drive even though it did take me 5 attempts Good on you posponing your wedding until you are ready.

Bloss, Bloss, Bloss-back again hurrah!!!!!!

Took Em dancing tonight and I was asked if she would like to join the Dance Troupe as a.........................................................................wiggly worm in the Bugs Ball. I said yes even though it means taking her to a Thursday class as well as Friday and they perform twice a year every year so have to practice every week. The reason they picked her and another girl to be worms is that they are small for their age. The other little girl is slightly younger than Em. Let's face it, I just have little children.

Hoping I don't have a repeat of last Friday's sickness. You too Bloss.

Nice to hear from you again Soph aka MildGreenFairy. Do explain where you got the fab name from

Love to all

Yeah PrettyMum!!! Well done!

Hi MildGreenFairy!

What sort of things is your mum telling you to do Bead? It does my head in when mum or MIL "suggest" things - I know they're trying to be helpful but I KNOW BEST!!! We had some mini-falling-outs when Ry was born and they were both horrified that I co-slept with him at times. I know they were worried about his safety - but I'd never knowingly put my own child at risk ffs! I'm sure Charlotte's getting enough nutrients - it's so hard not to stress about what they're not/are eating but she'll be fine! Hope you enjoyed your park trip!

Sorry about your in-laws Algach.... at least they are involved a bit... not completely cut off but it's still crap....

Well done on the swimming Annie! V impressed! I enjoyed it when I was heavily pregnant, used to go quite a bit but haven't plucked up courage since.... I always wish you could plug yourself into your ipod - it gets a bit boring after a while....

Welcome back Bloss! Sounds like you've been having a ball in RL! Hope Toby's ok, poor love.

Great about Em in the dance troupe HC!!! I'm sure it's nothing to do with her size but more about her enormous talent! Can't wait to get Ry dancing!

Had a magical time at the ballet last night..... sigh... beautiful setting in the courtyard of an old building. It was so tranquil, hard to believe we were in the middle of a capital city. The ballet was La Sylphide and is a Scottish tale - so the blokes were in kilts rather than pink tights with socks down their fronts... made a refreshing change! Even dp enjoyed it - it was fab.

Poor Ry is totally off his food since he's been on the antibiotics. Only one more day to go, thankfully - but he's only really eating his lunch. Trying not to worry but he feels so much lighter.... oh well, he' s got plenty of reserves, bless. And he seems fine in himself. He's being v cuddly with his gran, bless! She adores him.

Well have a great w/end. Hope the weather stays good for you all. It's too hot here. But I shouldn't grumble! Impy hugs all round xxx

kbaby · 04/08/2007 20:53

Annie, I hope you weren?t thinking of me. Id tell you lot first.
I did go back to the GP on Thursday to say I am still convinced that I can feel kicking and moving etc. He said there is absolutely no way that the test results could be incorrect. My results were under 2 and even if I was 6 weeks preg the results would be in the thousands so he is not willing to do any further tests.

Thank you everyone, James had a lovely birthday and walked around the farm holding my hand. He walked on his own for about 9 steps and then realised he wasn?t holding on so stopped. If he wants to go anywhere now he comes and holds my hand and points at where we have to go so ill walk him there.

The cake was ok if you didn?t look too closely. It was a bit lopsided and you could def tell it was home made, but everyone said it looked nice(I guess they had to)

His best present was a dumper truck with mega blocks in. He spends ages taking them out and putting them back in again. Its quite sad to think that hes one. I spent thursday going this time last year we were just leaving hosp, nanny was visiting etc.

HC- I cant believe how big Roshi is, size 4 wow
Wallace- DS does the dat, dare, da and ook, all meaning that, there, ta and look. Hes still behind on DD with the words he says as she could say far more and clearer and she loved looking at books and pointing to a certain animal if you asked her. DS by contrast just likes throwing the books and climbing over everything and generally causing mayhem. We lost him last Sunday and eventually found him in the back garden having climbed over the decking across the grass and up to the back decking and was pulling apart a bag of sand and eating it. Nothing is safe!

Heres some pics of his Birthday

Oh wow lovely photos, he looks so grown up. My ds1 got that megablocks truck for his first birthday and loved it so much, we only got rid of it when we moved house - he's 8 now! That cake is ace! Leo's fell apart when I was taking it out of the tin (that never happens to me usually!) but I stuck it together with butter icing

Jealous of your nice weather It was nice-ish today, but such a cold wind.

May I be allowed to feel smug about the exercise thing? Some of you may remember that at the beginning of May I decided (insanely perhaps) to enter a half marathon, and began training...

Ever since then I have been running 3 times a week. I did a 5k at the beginning of July, and am doing a 10k in Sept, the my half-marathon in OCtober. I can now run for an hour (about 5 miles) without too much difficulty I am so pleased that I have somehow managed to keep going, sometimes I don't get out for a run until 9pm and I have to really make myself go! When I started running I was doing no structured exercise at all.

End of smugness

On the down side I haven't lost any weight. Could be because muscle weighs more, or because I eat too much, using the excuse of exercise and breastfeeding My legs and bum are a lot firmer than they used to be, but my tummy is so flabby

Wallace · 04/08/2007 22:22

Hello everyone. Just popping in to say I got the job!!

Well done Prettymum!

And congratulations to the walkers.

We had a lovely day on Aidan's birthday thanks everyone.

Haven't got long now as we've only been back one day and I've got 11 people coming tomorrow for Aidan's christening do - yikes.

Oh and we might have found the perfect place to rent in Scotland (only a few miles from you Wallace ), but we've got to persuade the "Estate" that we're the ideal tenants to give it TLC. Fingers crossed - will keep you posted.

xx

TheGoddessBlossom · 05/08/2007 06:54

Twinkle thatis so fantastic, well done you, you should feel very proud of yourself.

KBaby, gorge pics, that cake looks bloody amazing, you have really inspired me to make one for Toby. Mrs Badger on your thread about it was so disparaging, no HE won't remember the actual cake but he will see the photos in the future and know what an effort his Mummy went to on his very special first birthday and that will mean load to him! My sister's birthday cake for Lily yesterday was a bought one from a shop in a foil tin, and yes she is pregnant and spent loads of energy and time making loads of delicious sandos etc for everyone and we had a really really lovely afternoon in the sunshine, but it made me even more determined to make one for Toby. If it turns out anywhere near as good as Jame's I'll be dead chuffed!!! SO WEIRD about your flutterings in your tum....

Wallace, wow, well done you on the running! Hmm, muscle does deffo weigh more than fat. I am lighter than I was before I had even H, but am flabier and less toned than ever in my life so I reckon as soon as I get exercising again when H starts pre-school I will gain a few pounds from the muscle tone. It will be worth it just not to feel my thighs shake when I run up the stairs...

KZ - I think I might TRY and regulate my nights on MN. Not having the internet for a week was actually quite good in some ways, I read more and watched telly properly IYSWIM, not round the laptop screen...it's a tough one.

RUBBISH night last night. Luckily I went to bed at half eight as was a bit squiffy, but it was just as well, as H woke up at 12 for a wee, then at 1 till 2 trying to get up and go downstairs! Then T woke at 4.30am screaming! I gave him Medised and I can hear him stirring now, but H and I have been down here since 6....pesky kids.

Looks like another hot day, got another b'day party at12, then the pub after for tea.

Have great days everyone.

Bloss

kbaby · 05/08/2007 10:17

Wallace- Wow, you are allowed to be smug and im sure even though you don?t weigh less I bet you look slimmer. You pics are gorgeous hes such a smiley baby.

Kayzed- No he didn?t want to do anything further his words were ?its probably your gut and intenstines gurgling? urgh! But you are right it does feel like twitches and also as if the inside of my skin on my tummy is tickling.

Twinkle- congratulations.
Blos- Good luck with the cake. I know what you mean about Mrs Badgers remark. Why bother doing anything with babies then if they aren?t going to remember.
It was more about wanting to do it for him so that I could tell him I had done it for him when hes a bit older. Besides apart from causing absolute chaos and mess in the kitchen it was actually quite fun.

Its finally sunny here, we might actually get to wear summer clothes

ImpyChica · 05/08/2007 11:33

CONGRATULATIONS Twinkle - so proud of you!!! How exciting - not just a new job but a new life in Scotland. Finger's crossed about getting the house.

Fab pix and cake Kbaby. Made my carrot cake look a bit poxy! James looks like he had a great b-day.

Gorg pix too Wallace. Leo's eyes are to die for! I'm still holding out for Ry's eyes to go darker, though they are a beautiful green/grey/brown mix. And well done on the running - you star! Wow. I've never got on with running. I'm from the "if-it-hurts-don't-do-it-school"! But I've always been envious of people who can run such long distances. You must feel a real sense of achievement.

Right, must go, been on too much of late! Maybe I should have MN days too....

Hugs Impy x
