In honour of Sophie's impending birthday this week, I thought I would start a new thread....

Evening all

Sympathies to the sick ones HC and Bloss ? how are you both feeling now? Worrying about coping with the LOs makes it all so much worse IME. Hope you are both feeling better anyway.

KZ ? how is Chi? Poor thing. Hope Roshi doesn?t get sick too. Sorry you had to cancel your day out.

Us ? sad that you have to give up bfing before you?d like to. Hope it?s not too traumatic for either of you. Glad your DP is being helpful. Zack sounds like he?s doing brilliantly with feeding.

In fact any tips? Thomas has suddenly started rejecting some foods, notably broccoli! Maybe he?s just regulating his own appetite, but he?ll start spitting things out before he?s finished which he never used to do ? he was more likely to scream when there was none left! He?s a lot more active than he was, I would have thought his appetite would be bigger, not smaller. He?s got plenty of reserves though, he?s not likely to fade away

castille · 30/07/2007 21:56

Why can't I post a message longer than a couple of paras? Here's part 2:

Kbaby ? lovely pics! What a messy eater ? very familiar

Ceebee ? at Josh pulling himself up on your knickers, what a clever boy. As for folic acid, isn?t it supposed to be from 3-6 months before, something like that? Not that I did. Only started after conception with all 3

Impy ? can I join the Thinking Seriously About Exercising club? I wonder about getting my pilates DVD out regularly but inevitably find something else to do (like MNing Poor Ryan, sounds like he needs his month out of nursery, to evacuate all the bugs! Hope he?s better soon, poor boy. Have a good time with your parents!

castille · 30/07/2007 21:57

Part 3:

HC ? Facebook a social networking site. You sign up, then add all your contacts to your list of Friends, and waste even more hours than we already do on MN checking up on them all ? their status, their photos, their aquariums (yes really), it?s the Latest Global Phenomenen dontcha know. I?m on it, but only have 5 friends

And well done Sophie, if that was her first word! Thomas is now pointing at anything and everything and saying ?Là!?, which is ?there? in French. He very clearly says Da-ddeee too so at least his first word was in English, even if he still doesn?t say anything resembling Mummy. He is into yodelling too, says lurdlelurdlelurdle a lot? not that we are anywhere near the mountains

Beadmum ? Paris, lucky you! DH was there recently for a work thing and came back saying ?we really must go for a weekend?? I?m just waiting for him to sweep me off my feet. Could be a long wait. It?s only a 2-hour train journey too!

castille · 30/07/2007 21:58

And the conclusion:

I?m pretty sure I look older than I am , because I?m scrawny. And after each pregnancy I seem to lose more roundess in my face. I have to dress like a teenager to cancel out my ancient face

Adding Thomas for good measure, even though July is nearly over!

Sophie - 27th June
Bella (baby poosecat) - 1st July
Jake - 3rd (I think?)
Roisin - 4th
Ryan - 5th
Charlotte - 9th
Jacob 14th
Josh - 14th
Ella - 16th
Emma - 16th
Zack - 16th
Alexandra - 17th
Kayley - 18th
Amelia - 18th
Abbey - 18th
Thomas ? 18th
Junior - 19th
Kavya - 22nd
Aidan - 28th
Eilidh - 1st Aug
James ? 2nd aug
Logan - 2nd Aug
Toby - 8th (August)

KZ- Bless Ch, what a star!

Castille- Could it be teeth? zack can be funny with food occasionally, I offer little but often and let him do it himself. Can drive you mad though!

HC- I'm glad you're feeling a little better, I had it last week and it really wipes you out doesn't it?
Thank you I do try not to worry I'm much better than I used to be on that front.
Zack has quite a large head 25-50th centile and weight is nowhere even near the 0.4th, my FIL called him a dwarf on Sat
He didn't mean anything by it he doesn't even know about our referral but it did sting a bit.
Well done Sophie on her first word!

CB- Congrats to your DB, brilliant news
Yes, Zack feeds himself with a spoon or fork. If he's particulary hungry he gives them to me to load and then carries on himself. Pretty messy because half of each load ends up down his front. I pick it up and put it back in his bowl
And yes it is what Kate Garraway has got.

Impy- Was well impressed with myself Tho I did stop at 2 shots the others carried on to do 5+!

Annie- I'm grateful for the time to stop BF gradually it must have been very hard on you. I gave Zack my last feed Sun night so have to get to the docs now for my dose to be increased.
Which means.......................Dp can do nights now!! YAY!!!!!
He took over last night, getting Zack down and got up with him in the night. He only woke once- how typical.

Kbaby- I love the pics, I love the colour of his hair and eyes
Come and visit me and we'll all go out again!

Wallace- reconnected today!!! Have missed you.

How you doing Maewest?

Right best go and get showered, it's beautiful here, bright blue sky and sunshine. x

castille · 31/07/2007 12:19

Us - could be! He's gone from 2 to 6 teeth in 2 weeks, three of which he cut in the past 2 days, poor boy. Maybe his appetite will start settling again now.

KZ - I read an article in a classy mag once called something like "your bum or your face?". Saying that after a certain age we have to accept that a youthful face goes with a round bottom. I got the other option, so look permanently haggard.

AnnieOleHouseElf · 31/07/2007 13:19

Hi Girls.

What a gorgeous day!!!!!!!!! Summer's finally here!

Us, good for you looking on the bright side. Letting DH do the nights now! Lucky Zack to have had your yuumy milk for this long.

KZ, glad Chili is better. Your hair I'm sure is beautiful!!!

Castille, sounds like Thomas is teething too. They all go through patches of eating/non-eating. As you know...
Notice I wished Thomas a Happy Birthday on the 18th! I remembered cos he was the same as Kayley even though he wasn't on the list! [smug]

HC, glad you're on the mend. So the MIL is good for something then!
Congrats to Sophie on her first word!!!
I can assure you I won't be taking the mozzies to the gym with me!! It's one thing joining up, quite another actually getting round to going... I'm going to buy my swimsuit this evening (if I'm not all mozzied out) and then hopefully go tomorrow. But don't hold your breath!!

Ceebee, congrats to your DB! Funny how it worked like that, boys first, girls second.

Impy, poor Ry, hope he's better soon. Good idea keep him off nursery to make a full recovery. They pick up all sorts of bugs there.
LOL at me being a gym-er!!! I think I'm still in the Thinking Seriously About Exercising club so far, I haven't actually done anything yet. And I do look scarily like my older sister. Must stop eating so much... Even DH makes some comments sometimes, like if something doesn't fit so well anymore, 'Well, you will drink wine every night... like your sister'...
Motivation.

Thai curry. Yum!

Have a good day everyone

Annie

AnnieOleHouseElf · 31/07/2007 13:19

Ooh I forgot to mention, Kayley took some proper steady steps yesterday. The delight on her face was something else!!

Evening ladies

Took Sophie for her MMR jab and got her weighed............19 lb!!!!!! Hurrah-she has gained some weight. Don't know what will happen if she ever starts cruising, she might lose some. She is still in 3-6 month tops and 6-9 month bottoms.

kayzed-really good news on your house offer. Overlooking the sea eh??????

Annie-well done Kayley. Aren't they all doing things so quickly. Thought Emma was speedy walking at 14 months but that seems quite late nowadays. Saw my friend at the clinic whose DS2 was born 2 weeks before Sophie and she said he was running before his 1st birthday. Have you bought that tankini/cossie????????

us-how utterly horrid of your FIL to call Zack a dwarf. No wonder you were upset. Did you actually measure his head yourself? It's just that they got Sophie's wrong and worried me. It is v. small and off the scale for not nearly as off the scale as they got it. I'm going to measure Sophie's height I think.

DH went to work on his bike to get it MOT'd so FIL brought Em home just as Holby had started. DH came home and announced he was 'off back out again and I was to put Em to bed'. Grrrhhh!!! I wanted to go to bed and watch Holby as still feel a tad groggy so took her up straight away. Of course FIL took offence that I had taken her straight up and was told to bring her down to say goodbye to FIL. Em insisted she'd said goodbye already so FIL cleared off. I'll be in bad books but I wanted my bed and to watch Holby-in peace !

Will bid you goodnight and I'll 'see' you all tomorrow.

HC

I'm back! I hope I haven't missed too much. Apart from most of the birthdays

Happy Birthday Eilidh

I will upload some photos later. I was going to try to catch up with all the messages but there are an overwhelming number.

It's sooo nice to be back

kbaby · 01/08/2007 11:09

HC- LOL at your description of your Diariah, it?s a good job I had just finished my weetabix.

Happy 1st Bithday Eilidh

Kayzed- Congrats on the house. I hope it goes smoothly for you.
Hello Wallace.

Bloss- I am halfway though the cake, although it doesn?t seem to have rised as much as I?d expected so that now my cut outs are wider than the cake, buggar. Just havre to put it together tonight and then add the icing on etc.

Were taking DS to the farm tomorrow and having a nice lunch and then we have family coming over in the evening for his tea party. I hope the weather stays nice.

Have a good day

AnnieOleHouseElf · 01/08/2007 12:55

Hi Ladeez,

Happy Birthday Eilidh!

Bit of a sore head this morning, due to dinner at a friend's last night. They have a 6year old boy, so it was interesting to see what Joey will be like in four years!!

Has anyone been reading the thread about the Immaculate Conception!? Is it one of you girls??? Her baby is one... I can't think who, unless.............. no, I best not say.

Thank you HC! Am very proud of the little monkey. Later than Joey was though, but who's comparing?! Not me!
Going to buy my swimsuit today I promise. Didn't get round to it yesterday due to the promise of wine at aforementioned friend's house! I'm really looking forward to getting in that pool though, what with the current heatwave

KZ, I'm really enjoying HP, nearly finished now, should finish it on the way home tonight. There was one point where I was scared to continue reading in case anyone else popped their clogs... It ain't over yet though!! [nervous!]
COngrats on your offer being accepted! It sounds like a wonderful place to bring up children. I'm sure London will miss you too!!

Well, better get on. Another pile of work to do, since another person is going on holiday. I seem to be single handedly keeping this place alive...

E£njoy the sun !

Annie

Ceebee74 · 01/08/2007 15:29

Happy birthday Eilidh - hope she is having a wonderful birthday

Annie - oh, go on, tell us who you think it is on the Immaculate Conception thread - I am dying of suspense as I thought it might be someone from here - and now we have to wait until tomorrow or maybe even longer as they are going on holiday. But I cannot think of anyone on here who has 1 child and is working in London....oh do spill!! (I did think it was you at first as you are the only one of us who I know works in London - but then realised that you have more than 1 baby already)!

KZ - congratulations on the house - fingers crossed that everything goes smoothly. I know moving from London will be hard but just keep focusing on what you are going to.

Hi Girls
I'm back from my stint away working, hurrah!! So glad to be back.

Tons to catch up on, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to all the birthday girls and boys over the last few days, and to Eilidh for today !!

Working away was a drag, saw Emma briefly only once which was , but she was fine with her daddy and gran, and happy to see me back so that was good. Bf was interrupted, she has fed since I got back, but I think it will be trailing off now as she wouldn't feed properly this morning, just kept messing about like she does during the day.

Ooops i hear screaming from the cot, better go.

Catch up laters xxxx

HumphreysCorner · 01/08/2007 18:29

I have been following the Immaculate Conception thread convinced it was one of you! No idea though.

Happy 1st B'Day Eilidh

Happy Birthday Eilidh!!!!!

Thanks for all the Ryan well wishes - he's on antibiotics and seems to be pulling though finally. Great to have my parents here to get a bit of a breather now and then. Taking advantage of the free babysitting and going to open air ballet on Friday - can't wait! (I'm not posh or anything - I just love ballet)

Sophie sounds a complete sweetie HC! Great about the first word.

Ryan's a bit hit and miss with foods as well, Castille. I wish I'd stuck with blw but chickened out from all the mess and fear he wasn't eating enough. Glad you're exercising your brain cells like me.... wondering where the pilates dvd is, wondering where abouts in the flat I'd do it, when would be best, what I'd wear... ummmm..... Love the bum/face thing! My bum hasn been likened to JLo's [proud emotion] - so I'm hoping it's true and my face doesn't age too quickly!

Loving the mullet idea KZ! Tee hee! Great news about the house in Oz - it'll be great to get back there.

US - is your DP still doing nights??? Since I cut down to two feeds a day, the idea was my dp would do any night wakening.... hmmm.... since he's been ill and waking a lot in the night, I've been the one dragging myself up to see to him grizzle! (can't complain too much as dp is a great support in every other way)

Well done to Kayley, Annie! You won't need to think about exercise now.....

Hugs all round. Impy x

Happy 1st birthday Eilidh!! And happy late Birthday to Aidan!!!

juniors walking!!! he looks soo cute! he also tries counting 1,2,3 and screams at the end!

kz- congrats on the house!! at least we'll all be able to stay in touch through the lovely net!!

things are bad with my sister again! mentioned dp and i are planning on getting married and she brought up religion again and said is he considering converting to islam! i cant keep telling them that it wont be happening as im not muslim aswell!! i really cant be bothered to hear her telling me how the rest of my family wont accept us if we dont change our views!it really hurts when you own family dont want anything to do with their grandchildren because of stupid traditions and culture!

im going to go and settle down with my book and get my mind off them. hope all you ladies have a lovely evening!

AnnieOleHouseElf · 01/08/2007 21:27

KZ, well done to Roshi!! There'll be no stopping her now, as they say!
Hope Chili is ok.

Impy, I'm still thinking!! I did go and buy my swimsuit today though, and goggles. Now all I need to do is remember to bring them with me!! Glad Ry is on the mend.
Get you and your ballet!!

HC, Ceebee, not me!!! I saw your post on there Ceebee, so I guessed it wasn't you anyway! Who I thought it was turns out has another child as well, so it's not her. And I don't think she lives in London. All wrong guesswork. Good thing I didn't say!! Still don't know who it could be!
And if it were me, it would definitely be immaculate!!

Hi First!!! Fancy a beer, I'm getting them in now?! DH is watching football agian.... Yawn!

Have a good night girls!!

Congrats Roshi and Junior

I put Sophie in one of Em's dresses today, buried her of course but had a look at a pic if Em in it and saw she had proper shoes on and was walking. And she was only 13 months which Sophie is now!

Well, after Em stayed at MIL's on Monday night with no nappy on and a dry bed I have put her to bed without a nappy. MIL doesn't drag her out, just puts her to bed and leaves her so that is what I have done and must suffer the consequences. One day it must happen that she will be dry.

kayzed-sorry Chi is being a pain. Reason I have shortened it to Chi is because an Italian Superbike Rider called Pier Francesco Chili is pronounced Keeley so when I saw you had written DS's name as Chili I kept saying Keeley then shortened it to Chi (Kee). Useless bit of info I know!

prettymum-so sorry about your sis.

Come on ladies, fess up. I know any conception I had would be immaculate so tis not me.

Looking at caravans and should be in bed. Got a headache now so off now.
