c'moooooon HC - join the gang - hey you and KZ and Pretty Mum, email me at [email protected] your real names, register and I'll find you on facebook....if you wanna of course....no pressure. More wine landlord.

AnnieOleHouseElf · 27/07/2007 21:16

I'll have a glass Bloss! Let me buy this one...
Waiting on me sister and her two kids to arrive for the weekend. Kids are 8 and 10 so will probably be bored. DH will be most childlike while they're here, I'll turn into a proper mother (GET OUT OF THAT CUPBOARD) and my sis will just guzzle wine. And force me to do the same. And I guess the playstation will be dusted down to save their boredom. Ah the joys...

My two, meanwhile are in bed. So it was either MN or Harry Potter.

S'no good, Harry wins. I'm halfway through. HAVE A GOOD NIGHT GIRLS!!!

KZ Hope Chili gets better soon. x

Jeanie, Hugs to you. You are doing the right thing. He's so in the wrong.

Night girls

Good morning to you all ladies !!

It looks sunnyish here this morning atm. Might actually be able to get out for a walk with cardigans instead of raincoats on lol.

KZ,not sure about my target weight being the lower end of my healthy range but suspect it is.I am 10st 5lbs atm and my target is 9st 7lbs.Will just continue to eat healthy as i am doing now and see what happens.Lost 1lb this week and 2lbs last week so it's working i suppose.

Impychica i had forgotton the biting and grating of razor sharp teeth when ure still bfing.Did bf ds1 till he was nearlt 3 and dd1 till she was 22 months so it does get better. It is sore tho Think Eilidh is worse than the other 2 mind you.

Ds1 is behaving himself and trying really hard to show me he can be responsible etc. He and his gf haven't done the deed again yet and have contraception sorted out so i am relieved that they have done that at least. He has also got himself a part time job in Macdonalds. He is staying on for 5th/6th year but does love money so thank goodness he seems to have some sort of work ethic so early on.

Jeanie, sounds like your ex is a pretty shit dad and using the fact thet you changed the kids names as an excuse to have a go/not see the kids. If he was a good dad to them i would be saying that you were int he wrong and that you should have told him first but as it is he is a plonker!! Doesn't sound to me like he'll be missed much anyway eh?

Dd2 stirring, better go get brekkie organised for everyone.Have a good day all.

Hello to everyone else i haven't mentioned.xx

ImpyChica · 28/07/2007 08:11

Happy Birthday Aidan!!! Have a wonderful day sweetie. Big Impy hugs xxx

So this Facebook is good is it Bloss? I don't like the way you have to register before you can see anything.... I'd like to check it out first before handing over all my details... might give it a go though. Did your BF come and do your house? Everything ok?

Algach - your ds1 sounds great. Glad he's being responsible about contraception - not quite ready to be a Grannie Algach, are ya?! Well done on the weight loss.

Have fun with your sis and Harry P, Annie!

Poor Chili - hope he's better already KZ. Sorry things are moving slowly on the back to Oz plans, I know you're itching to get back. You'll have to pop over to Madrid for some sunshine in the meantime.... (and that goes to all of you!)

Sorry about the grot-ness HC - shame you missed your night out.

Sorry Lysette - bull's testicles must have got held up at Customs.....! Will send pig's ears next time - easier to disguise....

Have a great weekend everyone. Hugs Impy xxx

Happy Birthday aidan

kz - shame you never got to enjoy your day out, hope chili and roshi are better soon

bloss - hope you better soon too

lysette - im joining gym next week, thought id never have time but going to make time, be nice to have an hour to myself and let dh have time with charlotte on his own

had a night out last night for my friends birthday, watched what i was drinking and i feel fine today.

well have finally decided about our holiday and dh and i are going to paris in sept while my mum and mil will share looking after charlotte. Still feel im being a little selfish but keep reminding myself dd wont remember and she'll have a great time with her grannies, we'll prob take her somewhere for a few days in nov when dh is next off.
Now we have made the decision and booked im starting to get excited, dh and i love paris, its where we had our first holiday together and also where he proposed, we've went every year since we got together

my muffins werent a great success, they stuck to the paper so no goddessness here am determined so will try again soon, i seem to be fine with savoury things but awful at baking.

Have make some tzatiki but have no bread rolls to go with so away to look up recipes and make my own, oh dear, who knows how they'll turn out i can only try

TheGoddessBlossom · 28/07/2007 18:49

I got worse and worse as the day went on, sisters had to do the lunchtime shift, then my dad came round and did tea bath and bed, what a star he is. With a hanogver too, bless him! Thankgod my family are around, I could not have looked after the kids today, fact.

Happy birthday Aidan lovey.

xx

usandnosleep · 28/07/2007 20:53

Hi all

Sorry it has been a while, DP has been off work so we have been having a lovely time out and about.

Had a brilliant night out last night with my new 'mum friends'. Ended up in a student dive downing dodgy shots- fab
Paid for it this morning though, DP ended up taking his 94 year old nan and Zack shopping whilst I laid on the sofa watching the BB eviction! BLISS!

I've been diagnosed with an over-active thyroid so have started meds and been referred to consultant. Bugger, I thought I was losing weight because I was blessed with a naturally fast metabolism
The meds mean I should stop feeding Zack, I've managed to cut down to 1-2 night feeds but it has been tough.
Zack climbs up at me pulling my top, I would never have been strong enough if DP hadn't been around.

We also had Zack's hosp appointment, they still want to monitor his growth and weight so we have to go back in 6 months.
I was a bit gutted because I was sure they wouldn't want to see us again.
He weighs 17lbs 10ozs and is petite I know. Gorgeously so though

Zack is now feeding himself really well, it makes mealtimes much more enjoyable for him and us.

I'm sure I had much more to share but mind has gone blank
Serves me right for not getting to bed before 2.30 this morning then Zack woke me at 5 Yaaawwwwwnnnnnnnn.

kbaby · 29/07/2007 10:40

Jacob- We went through what your doing with your DS a while back and even now hes good as gold going to bed for naps and bedtime but still has weeks where he will wake at night and isn?t happy. I find that sometimes just taking him out of the cot for milk/water and a cuddle does the trick and then hes happy to go back down awake again. Keep at it a it sounds as if your seeing improvements already. Ive thought about going for a scan but I cant see the gp sending me for one as ive had ? pg test and a ? hcg test(twinkle after you scared me I did a check out on the internet for HCG levels and these it seems get higher the further into preg you go, thankfully) I guess ill just have to assume that im being paranoid. BTW ? the one played by Rob Lowe was always my favourite. Im finding studio 60 a bit hard to get into.

Jeanie- sorry to hear about your DS diagnosis.

DS is still a monster to feed, he will eat a bit of food from a spoon and then half way through refuses and starts shaking his head and waving his arms about so then I give him finger food which he throws on the floor. Ive tried giving him a spoon with the food on but all he does is take the food off the spoon and smears it everywhere.

www.picturetrail.com/gallery/view?p=999&gid=16996224&uid=9277295&members=1

Kayzed- I hope Chilli is better now.

Bloss- As its you By the way you are a star for letting DH still go out while you were ill. Im too much of a baby.
www.mumsnet.com/Talk?topicid=2280&threadid=360769&stamp=070723191543 Sounds easyish! I mean I can make 2 cakes so the hard bit will be getting the ready to roll icing over the cakes smoothly. Even the deco should be straight forward with the play doh cutters.

Us- your mummy friends sound fab mine all have to be home at 11 for a babysitter and they drive, so no drinking.

HumphreysCorner · 29/07/2007 17:13

Girls-am so sick. Started at 10pm on Friday night and I was sick for 12 hours. Feel lousy still. DH has had to look after the girls. Will catch up when human again.

xxx

TheGoddessBlossom · 29/07/2007 19:59

HC you got what i got. have felt humanish from about lunchtime today thank god, and just eaten my first meal since Friday night, so think I am back in the lad of the living........hope you get well soon.

KBaby, thanks for that! I let DH go because I got more time in bed and much more sympathy from my family than I would ever have got from him. He staggered back in from his day out at Ascot at 10am this morning announcing "right I'm here to take over with the boys" and went straight to bed.

Ceebee74 · 29/07/2007 20:38

HC, Bloss and KZ ? hope you (and your poorly kids) are all on the mend

Bloss ? I know what you mean about it sometimes being easier without DH ? and you are so lucky to have your family about.

Lysette ? I am sure clinginess goes in phases ? Josh?s certainly does anyway. Some days he is quite happy to be left and others he whinges and then comes and finds me wherever I am ? have had to start shutting the toilet door now though as, when I am on the loo, he decides to use the crotch of my knickers to pull himself up

Annie ? hope you are having a great weekend ? you always seem to have visitors ? you social butterfly you!

Beadmum ? Paris ? how lovely. Am very ? and well done on making the decision. I still can?t let Josh stay overnight at my parents ? just not brave enough yet!

Us ? lovely to hear from you and glad everything is ok. What lovely stuff you have been up to ? is Zack feeding himself with the spoon? Nursery tell me Josh can completely feed himself (ie have the spoon, scoop food onto it and then put it in his mouth) but I have tried twice this weekend and he can?t seem to scoop anything up with it ? he is fine if you give him the spoon with food on though. Over-active thyroid ? isn?t that what Kate Garraway (from GMTV) had? Apparently it is quite common in new mums. At least it has been diagnosed and can be treated.

Kbaby ? gorgeous photos. I love the one in the bath where your DS is covering his modesty ? very cute and a well-timed photograph. You have to post a photo of the cake when you have done it.

Not much to report here ? have discovered Josh can climb the stairs in about 10 seconds. Have no idea where he learnt this skill as we have never let him climb the stairs before and nursery don?t have any

Ooh - all you expert mums - how long before you TTC should you start taking folic acid?

Hope you all had a good weekend x

OP posts:
TheGoddessBlossom · 29/07/2007 21:34

CeeBee - I am very lucky to have my family about. They can be a royal pain in the arse (whose can't) but they really did rescue me this weekend. Toby can also shimmy up the stairs, and cracks himself up laughing as he does it....I remember H learning all this super cool stuff at nursery and then never doing any of it at home. All the other kids are doing it there though so they join in, it's different when they are home with Mum and Dad.

AnnieOleHouseElf · 30/07/2007 13:46

Happy Monday girls.

Happy birthday to Aiden for Saturday hope you had a good day Twinkle!!

Bloss, HC, and KZ, hope you are all better. And babies too.

Ceebee LOL at me being a social butterfly!! Sure, it's an excuse to drink excessively, but other than that it's mostly a PITA!! Wish they'd all leave me alone...
LOL at JOsh pulling himself up on your knickers!!!

kbaby, fingers crossed for you.

Us, sympathize about the meds. At least you know you've given Zack a fantastic start by BF so far. When I had to stop, I just stopped, and ooh me boobs! But it had to be done that way, for me, otherwise it would have dragged on and on. Good luck whatever way you do it.

Beadmum! Paris!!!

Harry P three quarters the way through now. Didn't get a chance over the weekend, so I was really looking forward to my train journey this morning. Sad, I know...

Joined the gym on Friday at work! Now i need to go and buy all the gear!! Will be mostly swimming though, and maybe some classes. I realised I've started looking very much like my sister, and she's 10 years older than me... not a good sign. Say bye bye to the frump!!

Right I better go. Have a good day, everyone

Annie

ImpyChica · 30/07/2007 18:40

Well done on the Paris decision Beadmum! (Even though I wimped out on going to Delhi ) You'll have a fab time and it's so romantic that you go every year. It's such a beautiful city.... sigh....

Glad you're better Bloss - sounded horrendous. You are lucky to have such family on hand. My parents arrive tonight to look after Ry as his nursery is shut for August... We're going on holiday for the middle two weeks then dp's parents take over. Good job they're so willing or don't know what we'd do!

Sorry about the thyroid overactiveness, Us. Such a shame you have to wind down feeding Zack, if you don't want to. I guess there's no natural treatment for the condition so you could carry on feeding him? Impressed with your student dive/shot-taking antics!!! Last time I went out until 3am, I suffered for days afterwards - and didn't even drink that much. Am such a lightweight.

Gorgeous pix Kbaby. Your little man has such an expressive face!

Get better soon HC, {{{{{hugs}}}}}}

Love the mental image of Josh pulling himself up with your undercrackers, CB!!! Hilarious! Ry always tries to get in the loo when I'm there too - what is it with these boys?! So you're still thinking of TTC soonish, eh??!! Good luck! I only started taking folic acid once I was preggers - doesn't seem to have done Ry any harm. I have a pretty healthy diet any road...

V impressed with all you gym-ers (Annie, Lysette, Beadmum et al). I keep thinking about getting my pilates dvds out.... well it's the thought that counts, hey girls?! I'm sure you don't look ten years older than you are, Annie! Hanging around with teenage wizards all the time is gonna make you feel a little mature....

Well baby Ryan is ill again. How many coughs can one boy have in a year? It's ridiculous. Glad he's going to have a month off nursery so that he properly recovers this time..... it's been one thing after another..... Poor little man And I still get really upset when he's poorly - it's so pathetic! I think the nursery people must call me the "mad English bird who's always crying"!. Apart from that, all fine. Looking forward to my olds arriving tonight. Hope they cope with looking after the little monkey!

Hugs to you all. DP has just served up Thai fish curry, so I'm offski. (Yes, I'm v lucky!) Impy xxx

Ceebee74 · 30/07/2007 20:08

Impy - hope baby Ry feels better soon! And I am sure it takes a lot of persuasion on your part to get your parents to agree to come out to sunny Spain for a week to look after their grandchild

Where is everyone today? Have you all gone and started a new thread and not told us?

Anyway, just one piece of news to share today...my db and his gf found out they are expecting a boy in December - not really a surprise as my dad is 1 of 5 and my mum is 1 of 2 and out of these 7, 6 of them had a boy first - and then out of all my cousins, the 2 that have had children - again both boys first. My sister - boy first and then me - boy first and now my brother - boy first.....coincidence or just spooky?? (Plus out of all these that have gone on to have a second child - in all but 1 cases, they have had a girl next).

OP posts:
HumphreysCorner · 30/07/2007 20:36

Hi ladies

Well, have finally been able to face some food tonight-had a bit of macaroni cheese. Have lost at least 10 lbs in weight-not able to work at WW tonight as still feel weak. Rang my mum for sympathy and turns out she has had the same thing all weekend. MIL came and did my ironing-hurrah! She wouldn't use the steam bit though but musn't complain. She also took Em to nursery (her last ever day as well) has picked her up and is keeping her overnight too.

Bloss mate-soz you have had it too. It was awful wasn't it. It was the liguid diahorrea that was the worst-sprayed everywhere. Ewww!!! Hope you are better pronto.

kayzed-poor Chi. How is he today? Hope he is much improved.

Impy-sorry to hear Ryan is poorly again. Isn't it awful when they have one thing after another.

Beadmum-ooh la la. Paris-tres bien! How lovely.

Ceebee-I am taking Folic Acid now as I always like to take it at least 6 months prior to TTC (but this sickness bug has brought back vivid memories of constant morning sickness so plans may change!) Em took 1 year to conceive so seemed to be forever buying it until I was 12 weeks. It doesn't say on the packet about taking it prior to TTC only that you take it for the 1st 12 weeks so up to you really. Good news for your db and gf. Does tend to run in the family the sex of babies. My bro has 2 boys, my dad was 1 of 2 boys and so was his dad and his dad's dad.

Gym Annie????????????? How will you have the time with all those mozzies needing attention. You'll had to take them with you for a workout!

us-my FIL had an overactive thyroid and the tablets soon sorted it. Sad about stopping BF though. You have done so brill feeding for so long. I wish Sophie hadn't stopped soon. Try not to worry about Zack-Sophie doesn't weigh much more and is between the 2nd and 9th centile. She is having her MMR and Pneumo jabs tomorrow so will get her weighed. Get you at the student dives. I was never a student but did like to visit the bars with my student friends

Nobody has explained what Facebook is???????

Sophie has really interracted with me today by giving me things and I'm sure she said again everytime. So chuffed as I think that might be her first word. Thought she said Emma yesterday but couldn't get her to say it again. She is also pointing at things and gurgling. Still no sign of pulling up-one day!

Going to have a bath after Corro and crawl into bed. Keep going hot and cold all the time. Have got sore patches under my boobs from the heat.

Better go as this must be a mammoth essay. Love to all.

HC
