In honour of Sophie's impending birthday this week, I thought I would start a new thread....

Not been on for a few days as DD has been ill. She's had a raging temp for 3 days, so took her to em gp yesterday who checked her over, ears, glands, uti test on wet nappy () chest etc, and couldn't find any source of infection etc. He said to "keep an eye on her and if she doesn't get any better tonight, bring her back and I will arrange for her to be admitted". Thankfully her temp dropped last night and this morning she woke up with it at 36.8 !! Perfect !. She's having a nap now, but need to get her up for her lunch otherwise the whole day will be to pot. On nights again tonight, so might get on tomorrow afternoon to read through all the posts I've missed over last few days.

Really hoping this weather clears up at some point this "summer". DD has so many summer clothes she's not had chance to wear yet !!

Hope all you southerners are managing to keep dry, or have learnt how to swim ! Thinking of you xx

Hello girls!! Been a long weekend. Dunno why, just DH is wearying sometimes.
We went to a 4th birthday party yesterday, and now Joey thinks chocolate cake is for breakfast and every meal.

Got my Harry Potter book!!! And a free magic wand, which Kayley has chewed up.
Haven't started reading it yet though, so shhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

SoHappy, glad DD is better. Phew! Must have been worrying though.

Ceebee!! Congrats to Josh!!! The little walker!

Algach, know what you mean about a houseful of stuff. Kayley's favourite at the moment is Joey's potty, she pushes it round and round the house for hours. Perhaps something pushable?? Also like KZ's suggestion, my two love their's too(well, her's, it was HER birthday, though everyone seemed to think Joey needed more stuff too...)
Congrats on Eilidh's teeth!

Welcome back HC, missed ya!!

Happy Birthday for yesterday, to Kavya!

KZ, how's the puffball?

Hello to everyone else

Annie

AnnieOleHouseElf · 23/07/2007 15:38

Oh and belated Happy Birthday to Em, HC

TheGoddessBlossom · 23/07/2007 19:44

Today, I have earned my Goddess title.

I have -

cooked/baked:

Postman Pat fairy cakes for H and his chum to decorate with icing and midget gems
leek and tuna pasta bake for lunch for the boys x 4 and their mum and I
banana loaf (and just iced it) for BF's birthday cake tomorrow/and
[drum roll]
roast beef is in the oven as I type. Phew. All without a pigging dishwasher.

entertained aforementioned playdate of Harry's and Toby's and their mum

done three loads of washing

hoovered

registered on FaceBook and chatted online to ex-work colleagues

booked H's bouncy castle

bathed and put to bed both boys on my own.

oh and was up at 5 this morning.

I am now sitting in front of the biggest galss of red you can imagine.

KZ - might buy a tunnel etc for Toby's birthday, any recommendations?

We have a playtent and tunnel from ELC. Its a good one and lots of different designs. Takes a while to learn how to fold them back down though( 1 year to be precise)

yogimum · 23/07/2007 20:32

my ds celebrated his first birthday today, we had a lovely afternoon with friends over for a cream tea and a few goodies for the kids. Unfortunately daddy couldn't be here so hopefully we will celebrate again when he gets home. Now enjoying a glass of vino remembering all the lovely moments of the last year.

castille · 23/07/2007 21:26

Hello all! Just back from our hols and feeling all fuzzy and warm (though the excessive wine consumption might have some hand in this)

Belated HAPPY BIRTHDAYS to all those little ones who have already turned one. I can't believe my baby is almost a toddler, it doesn't seem possible that a whole year has passed since he was born. He has had a lovely time though, wolfed down the fruit tart we got from the patisserie on the day itself and the homemade chocolate cake he had yesterday at his party.
...to be continued...

castille · 23/07/2007 21:27

Ceebee - A big well done Josh the walker! Thomas learnt to crawl properly on holiday, but is way off walking! Odd to think that his sisters had been walking for 2.5 months and 2 weeks respectively at this age. Thomas is only at the pulling himself up on furniture stage, and hasn't got a clue how to use the toddle truck we bought him

But he's so chilled and smiley and all over gorgeous that I wouldn't have him any other way [soppy emoticon] Makes me almost broody. (I said almost... I dreamt the other night that I was pregnant with twins, and the panic I felt at the idea of having five children has stayed with me so there's no danger of us actually acting on it!)

Welcome Yogimum

Hope all of you and your little ones are thriving, and Happy Birthday to Leo for tomorrow!

Ceebee74 · 23/07/2007 21:28

Welcome Yogimum - and Happy Birthday to baby Yogi

Well have finally finished the bulk of the work I had to do at home (i.e shortlist 500 application forms) and just worked out how much I will get for it - after tax, about £150 - fgs so not worth it for the hours I have spent sat boggle-eyed at the PC (when I could have been boggle-eyed at MN instead!)

Josh seems to have developed overnight - this weekend we have had standing unaided, first steps, first proper word and now we have discovered he can throw a ball back to us!

Well, better go, DH wants me to play with him on his Wii - how exciting!

I want a wii, I am convinced that the tennis and boxing game will get rid of my bingo wings.

HumphreysCorner · 23/07/2007 22:29

Hi ladies

Have been to WW and have put on 3.5 lbs and very few people attended class so no wages and I did the shop and sold 6 items and was £1 short so put it in out of my own purse so have come home and downed 4 glasses of wine in disgust.

Oh, Standlake where we were caravanning is waterlogged

Had such a 'great' time in the caravan we are going to have another go at it!?!

Welcome yogimum-not normally blotto when I post.

sohappy-hope DD is better soon.

Bloss-am totally impressed mate

castille-welcome back girl!

Ceebee-well done Josh Wii-I want a Playstation 3!!!!!!!!!!

Lordy-am going to have to go to bed as the last few days have really caught up with me and am struggling to type.

Love to all

FirstAtForty · 23/07/2007 22:47

Hi Girls
Just a quickie in case I don't get on tomorrow - will be away for a few days working, so will catch up when I get back.

Happy birthday to Leo for tomorrow, and Kavya for yesterday !!

Welcome Yogimum, and happy birthday to your lo

Wow Bloss, you're going for it this week, and HC, you're going for it tonight - hurrah for you both

Yay to Josh and his splendid achievements this week!

Welcome back Castille - glad you had a lovely time and T enjoyed his birthday.

Kbaby - hope you get your results soon {{hugs}}

Sohappy - poor wee Alex, how's she doing now? must have been rough

Agalch - glad Bri lived up to expectations

Hi Annie

Kayzed - wow shopping for real clothes - haven't done that for a while

Blimey - just seen on the weather that it's apparently going to be sunny here tomorrow

Emma's very whingey at the mo, keeps waking up during the evening, she was inconsolable tonight. Lots of watered down Gripe Water seemed to help in the end, fingers crossed.

Anyway better get off to bed, love to all xxx

PS Kayzed, can't remember if I said, I'm still on for the meetup. May stay that night (or possibly Monday night) in Warwick with Emma (no DP) and go shopping if anyone else is up for an evening as well as daytime meet. Shall I email you, please can you remind me what your address is?

Wallace · 24/07/2007 10:20

TheGoddessBlossom · 24/07/2007 20:24

Hi Lysette and Jacob, hope he had a nice birthday, we were all wondering where you had got to.

Had a lovely day today, no cooking you will al be really releived to hear, spent it in the woods having a picnic for BF's birthday, with loads of old friends and all our kids, it was mayehm, but very interesting, especially watching one friend with her nearly 4 year old, 2 year old and 6 week old! Jeeeez that looks like hard work, has made me seriously reconsider the third child thing. H was off playing with a bigger boy and his magnifying glass, Toby sat in buggy and ate then crawled happily about in the mulch and I swilled fizz and ate cake. The thought of having a screamer as well, attached to me either in a sling or on the boob makes me feel a bit faint.....!!! She left after an hour bless her, I was impressed she even showed up, especially as she lives 2 hours away.....

H threw a wobbly when we had to leave, but cheered up at home, so much so that he announced, "Mummy, I am happy, are you happy cos I am happy?" I really could eat him sometimes he is so adorable.

Early to bed for me tonight, very tired.

HC glad you're back your posts always make me laugh.

well, dd2 had her 1st birthday today. ds and dd1 were the most excited. They all went to nursery in the afternoon and had some cake there. Brought a cake to work and confused everyone," who's birthday is it???"

Poor dd2 she had a fall, she is still quite wobble on her feet and cut herself just above her eye.
This weekend planning a daytrip, not sure where, depends on weather. Again ds and dd1 most excited...
