Evening ladies

Just a quick one as me and DH are having a frantic tidy up before all the guests descend on the house this weekend for the party on Sunday.

Bloss - sorry about the holiday but it is good to have you back hun. How is Toby now he is home?

KZ - well done to C eh? Chocolate raisins work everytime I guess!

Sohappy - I have spent a fortune on Josh's cake so don't feel guilty. DH had a fit when I bought it home today with the price written on it. It is lovely though - got a picture of Thomas on it (good job the lady in the shop told me that wasn't edible cos I bet we would have had a go - I assumed it all was edible!)

They had a party today at nursery for Josh and another boy who was born 2 days before him. Apparently he blew the candle out but he has got a humungous card and a present for tomorrow aswell.

Am more excited about tomorrow than my own birthday - guess that is another sign you are a mum eh?

My friends and her baby who is 11 months old are coming to the party - he is lactose-intolerant and I have had a nightmare thinking of food he can eat - it must be so hard for my friends to have to think what to feed him all the time!

Sorry this has all been about me and Josh but I hope you all have a good weekend.

Happy Birthday to Jacob for tomorrow - Lysette, where are you? Did you have a good holiday.

Blimey KZ - just looked up salycilate intolerance, had never heard of it before. Your poor bf's ds!! Could it be something he'll grow out of? I hope so.... Hope Roshi's ulcer gets cleared up ok. Poor thing having to go through plastic surgery - but kids are so resilient, she probably won't really think anything of it.

Happy birthday for tomorrow to Josh and Jacob - hope you have a wonderful time.

Great pix Bloss, welcome back!

Would be straight round to yours, Annie but have to go camping in the mountains this weekend instead.... sorry.... Have a fab time!!!

Well done to all the walkers - youse won't be needing the gym anymore!

Sorry to anyone I've missed. Been sick all week with some flu thing and now packing like mad for our early get away tomorrow to the cool of the mountains to try out our new tent. Will probably be back online tomorrow night bitching about Ry not sleeping and us giving up or the tent poles snapping....

Anyway, have a great w/end all. Hugs Impy xxx

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Josh and Jacob! The big 1!!!

Toby bit Harry's cheek yesterday, really hard when harry went to kiss him. Two sets of proper teeth marks left, harry cried loads poor thing, can't blame him. What do I do about Toby's hitting and biting? He is only doing it to show affection, but saying NO and moving him away doesn't seem to be having much effect...so much for me thinking he was going to be a gentle giant. Bull in china shop more lie it.

Have a great trip Impy, sounds fab.

Treadmill KZ?

Dh lying in this morning, after I had to sleep in spare room with H - he got up at 3am and insisted the Bears were coming to get him. harry that is, not DH! I am apparently having a lie in tomorrow morning, I won't hold my breath...

Happy 1st Birthday to Josh and Jacob!!!

We're off to A&E soon because Aidan managed to pour a mug of scalding hot coffee all over himself. I spoke to NHS Direct and they said we'd done all the right things but to take him to the hospital to be on the safe side. I got up to answer the door and didn't realise DH had put my coffee on the table and then I panicked when I saw what had happened - God I feel like such a crap mother at the moment. On the plus side though, the redness has almost gone so I'll feel a bit silly taking him in I think, but best to be on the safe side.

HumphreysCorner · 14/07/2007 12:31

Twinkle-how worrying. Please try not to feel bad. Let us know how you get on {{xx}}

Hi Girls

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Josh and Jacob !! Hope you?re all having a fab day

Bloss ? what cute pics, they are proper boys aren?t they ! Is that the Poirot hotel behind you? Can?t remember what it?s called, the art deco place? We went there a couple of years back, had a drink in the pub just below the hotel.

HC and Impy ? happy hols, fingers crossed for the weather for you!

Twinkle ? hope Aidan?s okay, sounds like he will be fine if the redness has gone. What a fright for you - don?t feel bad {{hugs}}

Did a raid on ELC today for some birthday toys ? got a bargain blow up paddling pool with some plastic balls. And a gorgeous little wooden trike thing with a trailer. Made her have a go on it in the shop just to make sure she liked it, she looked a bit fazed at first then smiled and jiggled about ? then screamed the place down when we took her off it so we took that as a yes she liked it.

We?re not having a party, I?ve been too lazy/busy to arrange anything, so just a quiet one which will be nice, maybe with BIL & SIL and a few drinks. Have bought some dairy free marge with the vague idea of making a birthday cake, but that?s as far as it?s got ? we don?t have any flour in the house apart from the dregs of a bag that?s about 2 years past its sell-by date!

Well better be off and shake the hoover about or something ? house is like a tip at the mo. (or may just have a G&T instead ) Have a good weekend all! xxx

Twinklemegan · 14/07/2007 20:53

Aidan's fine. By the time we got him to A&E you couldn't see anything at all. I got a lecture, of course, on "being careful". FGS, if we hadn't "been careful" all these months it would have happened at least a hundred times! Anyhow, thank god no harm was done - I had images of him being permanently scarred at first. Thankfully DH's quick thinking saved the day.

HumphreysCorner · 14/07/2007 20:59

Excellent news Twinkle-give him a hug from the HC household.

TheGoddessBlossom · 14/07/2007 21:23

1st@prehistoric42 - it's the hotel on Burgh Island where Agatha Christie wrote some of her novels, if that's any help. And if you have bought some balls to fill up her pool, go back and buy 5 more packs. Trust me.

Have had the kind of afternoon we should have had on holiday - went to a birthday party, in a village hall in Chawton, where Jane Austen used to live, and then went to the pub afterwards with three other couples and our 8 boys! Not a little girl in sight! must be something in the water down here. It was so pleasant, supping ale in the sunshine, the boys passed out in the car on the way home, and Dh and I have spent a very amusing evening listening to all our favourite music and buying retro CDs on Amazon on his credit card. Even persuaded him to buy me The Lost Boys on DVD!!

Let's see if I get my lie in tomorrow morning...

xxxxxxx

TheGoddessBlossom · 14/07/2007 21:24

Twinkle I'm really glad Aidan is ok. Scary stuff. xxxxxxxx

FirstAtForty · 14/07/2007 22:00

Bloss - Burgh Island, that's it. Was desperate to see the hotel as I'm a bit potty about 30's stuff, but they had big 'Residents Only' signs up everywhere so we had to make do with the pub.

Ah - wondered why the balls were '3 for 2' - will probably have to go back then. Your afternoon sounds fab, it's great indulging in a bit of retro isn't it.

usandnosleep- 30 (only just)

Quick post to say I'm back early. We were only away 2 1/2 days Poor Zack is very poorly, high temp, sore throat, upset tummy and very very sorry for himself. He had 6 hours sleep in 48 hours and ate one egg.
We gave up and thought he would be better at home, he actually smiled when we walked in the front door and then ate some pasta, bless him. He is now in bed, fingers crossed he will stay there!
A caravan holiday is no good with a non sleeping distraught little one.

Will catch up with all your posts over the next couple of days x

prettymum · 14/07/2007 22:11

HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY JACOB AND JOSH!!!

twinkle- really glad aidan is fine, must have been so horrific for you!!

had a early wake up call this morning and junior was adamant not to go back to sleep so im going to bed early to recuperate(sp?)

goodnight ladies xx

HumphreysCorner · 14/07/2007 22:33

Mum and dad bought Sophie the crab swimming pool from Woolies and a pack of balls-yup, you can hardly see them in the bottom.

us-sorry to hear all is not well with Zack. You can always go again later in the year.

Well, we are all ready for our hols in the Caravan-am secretly dreading it as there seems to have been a few disappointments on here in the Caravan department. Fingers crossed eh?

If I don't pick up a wireless internet connection I will see you all when I get back. Happy B'Days for the week ahead.
