P has been awake nearly THE WHOLE of today - painting was a nightmare. She was too tired / wired to even take her feed before bed.....Pleeeeeeeease tell me we are not going to have a terrible night ......

SOKL - I wonder how Katie is now? I was shown a different way of winding, and it has made a significant difference to G; probably everybody in the world but me already knows about it (even though G is not my first!), so you have probably always done it, but just in case:
you sit them on your lap, facing sideways, one hand under the chin (so far, so conventional), but you also have your fingers under their armpits and a finger supporting the head at the back (I've made it sound as though you need four dozen fingers...). Anyway, you gently straighten and release the spine several times; burps come I reckon about 80% of the time, and they seem to release a lot of the pain with them. The knack is in the straightening.

Anyway, sorry if that is grandmothers and eggs!

Been down to Penzance today on the train as went well apart from the last 30 minutes!!! Overtiredness then hit in. DH and I even managed a beer in Wetherspoons garden.

But when we got home all hell broke loose and I admitted to dh that I wanted to walk out on them all

Had a lovely day with sis, BIL & neice. Went shopping (bought a swimming cossie ) and had lunch out. Sis spent £80 in Primark...her entire holiday wear! Then went to Ikea for a look round. Erin was ok but cried a lot when we had lunch (think it was a bit loud for her).

My nappies/wraps arrived today and they are lovely!

Bugmum - I had heard straightening the spine helped get wind up...do you know you can also hold them like that and rotate them in a circle to help shift the wind????

I met dp in 1998, and we moved in together to here just before the end of that year, although we'd effectively been living together in reality (while paying rent for rooms in other people's houses on opposite sides of London) for some months already.

Back from Tesco - DH cracking on with 1st coat of pale blue paint - Looks great! White walls complete, just one more coat of blue to do on two walls tomorrow & we're done - Apart from the curtains ..... which Ellie's bringing on Tues!!
