Someone asled me about expressing - I think I just have a BIG milk supply, I'm v.lucky..... I express about 9pm when P has been in bed a couple of hrs and I know she's not going to wake up for a couple more ..... Your milk supply increases with demand, so by expressing regularly, I am increasing my milk supply, iyswim!!? Also the bottle of EBM I give as a feed means my boobs fill but I don't use the milk in them as she's having a bottle ..... does this make any sense at all!!? I express from both sides & I've never worried that I might run out of milk - "Supply & Demand" .... I know it is not the same for everyone though - I wish I could zap everyone with my Super Boob Vibes, esp you atm Elkie .......

EllieK · 17/06/2007 13:23

after last night i most definitely do not want any super boob vibes thanks. won't say more, but there'll be an email

CaptainDippySuperBoobs · 17/06/2007 13:56

Oh right - sorry - just the other day you said you didn't express regularly enough .... just wondered - you must store it up! Is your freezer full??

Who guilty that Joe's with you? Did you offer for Justin to have him? Did Justin offer?

EllieK · 17/06/2007 13:58

i was xpressing daily to start with so yes, freezer full!

I was just being nosey, tis all! Did your gran have him overnight?

elkiedee · 17/06/2007 14:00

shortage of milk wasn't a problem at the start though I wasn't able to express as much as mentioned. My milk came in within 2 or 3 days of the birth and was dripping. It started to dry up in hospital, and although I was prescribed something to increase milk supply that wasn't actually on the basis of identifying how my milk supply compared with that of other bf'ing women - that wasn't something which could have been assessed at that point.

Then though Danny was fed mostly formula apart from what I could express through tubes and then from bottles, and the supply and demand thing got gradually broken down.
