Evening Ladies

Wow it's quiet on here tonight, where is everyone?

Pinions the wrist straps sound like a good idea. Hope you manage to get some sleep.

Hi Mammyjo how are things with DH now?

Elkie - Danny is gorgeousHope the next few days are better for you.

SOKL - Syringe is great idea for calpol or any medicine you have to give them. Best to squirt it really slowly into the side of their cheek. Sorry if I'm teaching you how to suck eggs so to speak. Dentist was ok thanks, was having my crowns re-done, so a few injections...yuk.

Hi oooggs how are thing with you?

Nutty -glad the note reading went ok. Erin looks gorgeous...such a lovely smile.

Sorry if I've forgotten anyone

Ellie - You need to get on so you can start a new thread...can't have dippy keeping you all to herself Seriously though hope you're both having a good time.

mammyjo · 19/06/2007 21:25

Hi Ange. Back on speaking terms with dh, back to normal now thankfully! Bloody PITA! Glad the dentist was ok, I hate going. I only go because I have to and to set a good example to ds.

Sexonknackeredlegs · 19/06/2007 21:26

Hi ladies.

Elkie, sorry to hear you are feeling a bit weepy. Motherhood is a massive learning curve, and as long as Danny is fed, clean and loved, then you are doing ok.

Pinions, I think the reigns would be a good idea as well tbh. Or perhaps a training session in road sense. Becky's preschool ran something a while ago, and I have to say she is pretty good. Really hope you have a good nights' sleep and a better day tomorrow.

Hi Waspelly!! What an awful time you have had of late. Hope you got everything cleaned up! Looking forward to seeing you on Friday.

Eddas, good to see you too hun. Will be investigating syringes methinks! Gladly K seems ok, although so so tired tonight that she only took 2 ounces of milk, so we are in for a shocker of a night. I have instructed dh that if she wakes up and it isn't the middle of the night, he can feed her, as I am finding it so boring. What size teats are you using?
I keep saying to my dh that I want to go back to work full time and he can have the children, but I know it won't work financially.

Hi Katy!

Have had a shit evening really. Had to treat B's hair again as she has head lice - AGAIN! And, my God, the fuss she made, screaming, thrashing about etc. Even dh was livid with her. Bodes well for her jabs tomorrow. God I love being a mother - NOT!

Hope everyone is ok. No Birdiemum on for a while either.

AngeG · 19/06/2007 21:27

Wow took me so long to type that I've x posts with loads of you.

Good to 'see' you waspelly - glad you are still able to come on Friday. The poo smeared cars sound wonderful

Hi Eddas

Hi Katy

Hi Lazyemma

Sexonknackeredlegs · 19/06/2007 21:29

x post with MammyJo and Ange, as I took so long to type my novel!

Ange, glad the dentist went ok.

Mammyjo, glad things are better with you and dh now.

We need a new thread as Ange says. What about ... sex? - my nether regions are a baron wasteland (courtesy of Mammyjo herself I believe!!)

AngeG · 19/06/2007 21:32

Mammyjo - glad things are better with DH. I've had so much work done at the dentist...but I still get nervous, try not to show it to J though.

Sorry you've had a shit evening SOKL, sounds like all our older los are pushing it at the moment. Hopefully a switch will be turned soon and they'll all get better.

AngeG · 19/06/2007 21:32

Sounds like a great title

Sexonknackeredlegs · 19/06/2007 21:35

I don't know how to set up and link to a new thread

geordiemacminx · 19/06/2007 21:38

evening ladies - hope everyone is well - just popping in as in the middle of a feeding fest - he seems to have been attached to my nipple since 6pm... still hopfully he'll sleep.

Emma - are you coming to coffee morning next tues?

AngeG · 19/06/2007 21:38

I'll give it a go!

Pesha · 19/06/2007 21:41

Eddas - fab idea about the pop up message box - start a thread in site stuff and tell them they have to do it!!

Pinions - ds1 is nearly 4 and ok with roads, think having dd has helped teach him by example but I have a friend who used to have two of those wrist straps permanently hanging off the handle of her pushchair when her older children were approx 3 and 5, oldest was at school, and if they ran off the straps went on. Worked greeat as a deterrent! And I think it is difficult for them to really understand what could happen if they were hit. When dd was younger (4 I think) I had to really scare her as she had gone in the road a couple of times when I was dog walking and pushing pushchair so very little i coulod physically do to restrain her. I had told her she may get run over and could die but it meant nothing so i told her iuf she died she would not be able to see me or grandma or anyone any more. Sounds horrid and I felt ever so cruel, still do now just writing it, but I'd rather she be upset than be run over and it did the trick.

Just read that back and it really does sound awful I'm not sure i put it quite that bluntly but it's pretty much what I said and she's not scarred by it now so cant have been that bad!

Here is new threadwww.mumsnet.com/Talk?rn=53188&topicid=2330&th readid=342233&redir=53188

oooggs · 19/06/2007 21:42

no prob octo
Hi ange
hi sokl
pinions - have no probs here with road safety, but answering back, slamming doors, "I don't want to" and generally being horrible except with dt's (which is a slight blessing) he is 3 going on 13. He is really pushing it and testing my patience - which has run out trying really hard to like him love him to bits, oh and reverted to wetting himself - alot trying to deal with that carefully aswell. And to think in 3 years time I will have it doubled

On a positive note I am seeing the physio tomorrow am for my shot through tummy (lack of) muscles and dts are sticking to a good daytime and bedtime routine - hurray

oooggs · 19/06/2007 21:43

have just redirected this

elkiedee · 19/06/2007 21:50

Thanks all, from the pics' evidence, all our babies are gorgeous though of course I'm biased about the stripy one here (back in a zebra babygro again!)

When dp has finished his bath I'm separating myself from the computer - if I don't sleep after doing some expression I'll read upstairs and soothe myself that way.

"New Thread here "

maveta · 20/06/2007 08:23

Not quite managed to catch up but want to post before N wakes up. All in all a pretty good night. He didn´t sleep til 11.30pm despite our best efforts but then slept til 5am. Took about 2 hours to settle him during which I lay half asleep on the sofa with him on my chest (this was an attempt to save dh from the dinosaur snuffling and let him sleep) and has then slep soundly from7am to 9am..and i only woke at8.30am so all in all a good sleep was had by all..

feeding him now then aat10am we´re off to the pool. It´s a good 30min walk uphill so i´ve decided it should be my daily exercise routine combined with a bit of sun..an hour´s walk a day isn´t a bad start, right?? Really feel like i need to start making the effort to shift a bit of this excess flab now. Reckon i´m 3/4 to 1 stone over my pre preg weight and with this one approaching 2 months the excuses are going to start wearing thin.. my mum bought a silver cross pram (don´t ask..but one of the really old huuuge ones) and she wanted to take him to tthe pool in that yesterday...well guess who actually ended up pushing the bloody great hulking thing?! Now THAT was a workout!! And i felt a right twat taking a pram like that to the pool.. will be making a great show of my actual pram today..lol
