UD - sorry I missed your MSN. Just got some pics this am from Loosh actually, her ds is veeeeeeeeeeery cute (esp in the bath)
Wilkie - ok, ok, I shall change back to 2happy. Maybe I shall be notasthunketc on other threads to hide my identity!
eandh - good news about your dad's vision!
Jodie - hope Ethan feeling better. Crawling already? ds2 hasn't even mstered rolling further than his side properly yet!!
MrsC/UD/Jodie - no food here either (despite mil spending all last sunday going "oooh, you're really wanting some of this (sausage casserole - ideal first food )" and "you're really hungry aren't you?" (no, I've just fed him you eejit!). I think I should make ds2's first food broccoli too as it's the one vegetable that ds1 absolutely refuses to eat!
DH - woohoo potty trained boy!

oh dear. Half-hour delay while I read the thread....
MN does have a habit of this, sometimes I wonder about slinking off to Netmums and being done with it (only joking, UD!). Dbil is half chinese, so dneice and dnephew both look very chinese. I would be very angry and upset if someone used "chinky" as a term of abuse at them, but will they grow up to dislike "chinky" being used for a takeaway? I don't know, but I hope that should they decide it is offensive, and should they come across it being used by someone who means no offense, they maybe they just politely ask the user not to say it, rather than start a thread on MN vilifying and upsetting the user. It is a pattern on MN, I've seen it so many times and it generally ends in tears and someone feeling that they can't post on MN any more. I think the anonymity of MN makes people feel they can be less polite and, generally, meaner than they would in RL. This massive ganging up on someone is bullying, and it makes me really sad that it is so rife, and that the internet seems to make it so easy and almost "acceptable". There were better ways the poster could have addressed the issue that wouldn't have ended this way. She dislikes the use of a term that upsets her, fair enough, we all get that and sympathise and whatever; but she deals with it by inciting the whole of MN to be unpleasant towards another MNer...who's the winner? Who's "better"? It saddens me. I think a round of applause is due to Eddas, for being consistently reasonable and supportive on that thread; and Wilkie I hope you know that there were several people who found the tone of the thread unpleasant, but I guess it's who shouts loudest.
