eandh · 20/06/2007 16:55

Just a quick post as doing dinner/baths will catch up later, hair looks fab and enjoyed my 3 hours away from dd's. Went to firemds this afternoon and coiple of other firends there so ellie played nicely and Hattie had lots of boy babies to chuckle at

Wilkie · 20/06/2007 17:18

Sorry UD, went out for a walk We MUST catch up!!!!!! Haven't spoken properly for AGGGGEEEEESS.

LadyTophamHatt · 20/06/2007 17:57

Lizz, how will you be getting to the meet up?

I might be tempted if you're getting the train and we can meet up and go together....

I'm very nervous about travelling to London so might be ok if I go with some one else.

Lizzzombie · 20/06/2007 17:59

Hi LTH.
yes, I will be getting the train.
I thought about hitch hiking, but Dylans' nappies smell really bad at the moment so it may be off putting to the driver.

laughalot · 20/06/2007 20:19

JodieG1 · 20/06/2007 20:49

Evening all, quick message as I've not been in long. Just been shopping with dh to Debenhams and bought lots of lovely new clothes Very happy, nice bright colours for summer. Can't wait to wear them.

The meet up, have we a contingency plan should it rain? And are we meeting at the station?

Wilkie · 20/06/2007 20:51

Jodie - was the sale on?

JodieG1 · 20/06/2007 21:18

Yep it was, also got £40 off with a voucher through the post and re-joined for another 10% off yay hehe Most impressed with that, saved loads!

Shimmer · 20/06/2007 21:34

Evening all. Meet-up is at Russell Square, for those that were asking. (Near my house!! ) I suggest we meet in the square as people will probably be arriving at different times, what with different trains etc. The square is about a 3 minute walk from the tube station. Ask if you need directions or if you're unsure I can always come meet you! If it rains.... ummm... we can find a cafe nearby, though sounds like there'll be quite a few of us, so it'll have to be a big one! Or we can all go to my brothers flat (he'll be at work, I'm sure he won't mind!)which is also really near and loads bigger than my tiny hole

Lizz Welcome Back! You should know we're still expecting cake at the picnic.

Just been making a batch of sweet potato for F to try tomorrow. Thanks for the mouli advice Wilkie. Don't think I'll shell out for one at this stage though as F doesn't really need things completely smooth. I've just mashed the potato with milk, which he should manage fine i reckon. Gave him a piece of apple to suck on today, which he seemed to enjoy. Had to watch him quite closely as i do feel a bit worried about choking, even though the BLW peeps (i finally got round to having alook at that blog) say it doesn't really happen. Actually the finger foods are going down rather well here. Freddie had these Organix carrot stick things the other day which he LOVED. Have any of you come across these? They look and smell just like whotsits!! I freaked DP out by telling him it was a whotsit when he saw F sitting in his bumbo with one!! Hehe Jodie and UD have you decided what your LOs first food will be?

So tired this evening... gonna go to bed now i think. Got buggyfit in the morning I know it's good for me but it was REALLY hard last week and I ached for about 3 days afterwards....

Oh, 1 last thing... what highchair did you get Wilkie? Think it's about time we got one. UD you mentioned the ikea one before didn't you? Have you got it already? What do you think?

Dragonhart · 20/06/2007 21:42

Soooo tired. To much tidying. I hate tidying.

Luke has spent the day saying 'mummy, mummy, mummy, mummy, mummy, muuuuuuuummmmmmyyy!'and I am now eating DH's Toblerone that he got for Father's day .

Lovely photos Urban

Jodie well done at the bargins!

Wilkie · 20/06/2007 21:58

Shimmer - I don't think we know you well enough anyway to see your tiny hole

(and for the record mine is quite large after having J)

theUrbanDryad · 20/06/2007 21:59

Shimmer - the Ikea high chair looks really flimsy and i think Z would slip out of it, even with his Weeble bum. we're currently looking at this one

JodieG1 · 21/06/2007 08:04

Morning all

We've had www.mothercare.com/gp/product/B000M4VXZA/sr=1-5/qid=1 182409314/ref=sr15/026-2796792-2434068?ie=UTF8&m=A2LBK NDJ2KZUGQ&n=42862041&mcb=core that highchair for a while now and it does the job. The tray is removeable and safe to put in the dishwasher.

Ethan's cough has gotten worse so I'm waiting to call the drs in a few mins

JodieG1 · 21/06/2007 08:10

Shimmer - He's already nicked some brocolli so I'll think we'll be trying that first

eandh · 21/06/2007 08:20

Morning

Had a funny night last night dh went out for friends birtday at 7 and both e and h in bed, he left and hattie woke up and projectile vomited everywhere then ellie woke with raging temperature and crying she then got the runs, put her in our bed as its cooler in our room and we have the big fan then she projectile vomited everywhere. Both had calpol/calprufen and settled (by which time dh had come home as I had text to say I could deal with one ill child but was struggling with them both being sick) and then they slept till 6 and 6.30 and are fine this morning no temperature or anything v.wierd.

Had highlights put in my hair not quite as blonde as I planned to go but will have more put in next time.

I am getting ridclosly (sp) excited about the meet up, have had a look at tube map to work out best route.

We have preschool this morning, then later on we'll visit my dad he was in Londons Moorefields hospital yesterday having one of three operations he has to have done on his eye but he came home last night so will pop up and see him later (he cant believe the difference he only had 10% vision before (had an accident at work several years ago) and they have managed to increase it to 40% vision yesterday and he is now on the list for a cornea transplant.

Cant remember who has posted what but hello to everyone and I'll update the meet up list later

RGee · 21/06/2007 08:45

Morning.
Hallehflippinlujya...she is asleep...and it is daytime. A miracle! Bit of a battle though - she was fighting it. Yesterday she had 20 mins sleep all day and was grumpy as you like. Still can't believe how she has gone from about 3 hours of daytime naps to 20 mins. Still is sleeping fine at night though (touches wood) so should be thankful for that.

Right then, what've I missed?

Wilkie - my body has changed too. Boobs were already saggy so no change there. But waist seems thinner (hurrah) at expense of even bigger jelly belly (not hurrah). Think my arm batwings are toning up though due to lifting of big lump baby, so it's not all bad! Although on your photos of the three of us, I notice I seem to take up the same amount of sofa as you and Vino....maybe my bum has expanded! Your wedding talk reminds me I really need to sort out my outfit(s) for the 6 approaching weddings.
Not sure I approve of J having yet another girlfriend . They'll be tears and tantrums from this house if he's not careful!

Jodie - had a quick look on line at the Debenhams sale. Was quite tempted to buy a half price food processor. But I already have one. I am a sucker for kitchen appliances. Some really sweet kids clothes in the sale. I have been very restrained (so far) and my credit card is still in my bag! Hope you are all well soon (I seem to have been saying this for a while now - poor you with one thing after another. Hope you're ok)

EaH - get a piccy of your hair up so we can admire!

LTH - get your bum up to London. I'm sure Lizz will look after you. No eating all those cakes on the way up though.

laL - hope school goes well today.

Shimmer - I know Russell Square well. Should we all turn up with a red carnation in our lapels and a financial times tucked under our arms?
I got a Tchibo highchair www.tchibo.co.uk/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/ uk/-/GBP/TdUkDisplayProductInformation-Start?ProductSKU=0007 519 and really like it. But I wanted one without a tray I could use at the table and we have plenty of space so didn't need a folding one.

Dragon - I haven't had toblerone for ages. It's such a blokes chocolate. Nom nom!

Had a good day yesterday. Bf and her mum came over. Brought a Bumbo for me to borrow too so was entertained watching a grumpy lo sit in that! No plans for today. Writing a list of what to take on hols and doing washing in preparation I guess. Gardeners been here for two days now and they have dug everything up and filled skips. They're cracking on really well and getting on with it. Barely had to make any cups of tea - they are so polite! Bizarrely though, they have not borrowed my toilet. I think they are going to the pub up the round (rather than peeing in my garden!).

theUrbanDryad · 21/06/2007 09:31

morning all - blardy typical! the one day of the year we wanted to be up to greet the dawn, Zac slept through till 6am!! still i was up at 3 with him, so i saw the first few streaks. that counts!

right, i'm off to make Solstice flapjack (tis usually a cake, but i'm out of eggs and can't be arsed to go to the shop! )

JodieG1 · 21/06/2007 09:33

Thanks Rgee, certainly does seem one thing after the other at the moment.

UD - how are you? Haven't caught you on msn in a while.

theUrbanDryad · 21/06/2007 10:08

i'm good ta Jodie. still not weaned! was getting a bit desperate the past couple of weeks, but he only woke once last night, so i think we may be past the worst (still haven't bought a high chair though!)

Lizzzombie · 21/06/2007 10:26

Rgee - get your arse down to debenhams for cheap wedding outfits. I got a dress from Wallis in Debs, reduced from £65 to £15 the other day! The old ladies in the changing room all gave me the seal of approval. (its for my sisters wedding in 2 weeks) mega bargains to be had though!

Lizzzombie · 21/06/2007 10:26

ps - isnt it funny how babies seem to have developed how to blow a decent raspberry just at the time that we start to wean them. Coincidence or what?!

Dragonhart · 21/06/2007 10:32

Rgee, that chair looks really nice. Very reasonable too. I want a new one!

Going for our first trip today with no pull ups. Mum is taking us to Tesco (oh the excitement!) so keep your fingers crossed for me, or should that be legs?

Glad E and H are ok EAH. Sounds weird. Are you feeling ok?

Does that mean it is officially summer now Urban? I was gutted when springwatch finished on cbeebies. I think Jackson and jelly are hilarious!

Mrscarrot · 21/06/2007 10:32

glad I'm not the only one. No food here for another month or so, and haven't even thought about a high chair. I think we might have a stocke one that changes height this time.

I also think we'll start jabs when we start food, makes sense to me to do it when his digestive system is getting used to other things. I've been strict with dairy and his allergies have settled down. Hv says thats fine, and gp.

All's well with F and no anti- b's in the end. Took him back and another gp said she was sure it was just a virus as the ear wasn't bulging, can just be that the tube won't drain in lo's, Gave him my CO appointment and he's back to normal now thank goodness.

I got a happy solstice text from a friend. Didn't even know it was.

Are we all bringing food then? Not sure a salad will last a 2 hour train journey! Can any cafe take ten or so women with prams and possiible extra dcs? Perhaps we should erect a gazebo in the park,

or would your brother REALLY not mind, Shimmer?

Dragonhart · 21/06/2007 10:35

Luke's first trip without pullups! I have a very strong pelvic floor so no need for any leg crossing
