Well i think i was the frist to 'pop' from the due in june thread so i thought it was about time we started the post-natal thread.

DS2 is 2 weeks on monday I had him 4 weeks early due to induction for OC. Everything is going really well and i think things are finally starting to settle down (i hope i haven't just spoken too soon!!)

He is really suffering with colic though and were getting about 4 hours sleep a night on average and with a 2.5 year old there is no chance of catching up in the day, but i shouldn't complain as i'm lucky to have got two wonderful boys. Thats it now NO MORE!!!!!9smile0

I know a few other june mums have had their babies so it would be lovely to hear from you to see how you are all getting on (when you get the chance )

pingu....I don't think you're being too harsh, just maybe a little bit too paranoid worrying about what might happen in the future. Just relax, you're doing great . If she spits the dummy out, just keep popping it back in...she'll get the hang of it eventually

NattyThomasandEllen · 25/06/2007 19:14

lilkel, have joined u on the FF, and had to FF tom so i am a second time offender!
dont feel guilty, i know how u feel tho, i feel terrible when she nuzzles my boobs when hungry cos i know she wants boobie!
ah but she is much happier on formula, and i am coping much better without having her attached to me 24/7 whilst stopping tom from killing himself in new "un-child-safe" house. finally got a stair gate today so that makes life so much easier.

sorry to hear all u guys having BF problems, now how u feel with sore nipples/mastitus/engorgement, i had all three! hope it gets better, and dont be afraid to join FF corner if the going gets too tough!

love to all and BIG kisses!

daisy . Is it you that lives in Leeds? DH has to go to Roundhay tomorrow, are the roads ok? Will also have to ring hospital and see if they're doing routine appointments. The hospitals here have cancelled non-emergency appointments today.
Would be helpful if he doesn't have to go...

daisyboo · 25/06/2007 19:29

Hi Ria.....there are lots of roads affected by flooding and apparently the M62 was flooded earlier today. WE are near Roundhay and there are some roads affected, but not sure which ones. DH and I have just been trying to figure out what's what from the AA website, but its pretty crap information. We think it should be clear by tomorrow, but I would check the local news on telly tomorrow!

You know, I was looking back at an old thread trying to find a link to something and its just hit me who you were in your former incarnation. I knew you'd done a nam echange but it was when I was on holiday and I couldn't find the posts....I've got it now....

daisyboo · 25/06/2007 19:37

Glad you got the name sorted Holly!

riabutterflew · 25/06/2007 19:47

Thanks daisy. Will get him to check in the morning (I wouldn't have thought of it but luckily I have a very sensible dad.)

I have a confession. Have got my prePG jeans on. (It's actually not as good as it sounds as they are fairly vast anyway, but it's enough of an achievement for me!) Slimming World beckons, just need to eat more cheesecake first.

daisyboo · 25/06/2007 19:54

I can't even get my "fat" jeans on from before I lost weight before i got pg.....wearing my maternity jeans or joggy bums. when i was in town on thursday someone made a pregnant comment at me....it made me very . And my overhang is just fucking delightful....

Do you get an overhang if you haven't had a section, or is it purely the delight of those of us that have had one??

riabutterflew · 25/06/2007 19:58

Don't know, my stomach is like a badly set blancmange anyway (it even wobbled at the bottom of my bump when I was still PG)! (told you it wasn't impressive). I weigh slightly less now than I did after DS2 was born, but that's a good thing. If I went on one of those online BMI counters it would still flash red warning "you are fat and you will die" lights at me!

riabutterflew · 25/06/2007 20:00

People are very insensitve (me included ). At least you can tell them to feck off and blame your hormones!

foxybrown · 25/06/2007 20:11

Sorry to report that the overhang stays. I lost 2 stone, but not the overhang . That's a gym thing I'm afraid, but lets not dwell on it and move on...

daisyboo · 25/06/2007 20:23

LOL Ria...my bump had a wobbly bit at the bottom too!

DH bought some body fat scales last summer. I'm 5'2" and was 11 stone bang on. OK, not exactly skinny, but I wore a size 14. Jumped on the scales and they told me I was 50% fat and morbidly obese FFS.

Of course they had to go....

riabutterflew · 25/06/2007 20:26

Bizarre change of subject. Anyone know if you can buy special toilet paper for expeditions (digging a hole the moors, that type of thing)? Am after a joke gift...

riabutterflew · 25/06/2007 20:30

phew, glad you're back daisy. Thought I'd been overly insensitve.
I'm not giving anything away, but the cut off weight for waterbirths at the hospital was 100kg and I couldn't have one...
I do think that morbidly obese stuff is bollocks. My mum is apparently that too, she is 5ft5ish and a 14/16 and has never weighed more than about 10 1/2 stone.
My friend who is a nurse said that BMI was designed for men and it just doesn't work on women because it doesn't allow leeway for norkage! (that would be at least 2 stone down in my case!)

bumperlicious · 25/06/2007 20:36

hi all. how are you doing. pingu sorry things are still so tough for you. don't have anyadvice, just sympathises.

we have avery windy baby. it's stopping her from sleeping as it's so painful , you should see the looks she gets on her face. trying infacol, not much help. going to try & make it to a bf group 2moro, and on weds going to cranial osteopath. any advice on wind? anything i can drink/eat? i thought bf babes weren't supposed to be so windy

DD made her 1st wage 2day! DH & her were stood outside a shop and a granny came over & cooed then slipped £10 into dh's hand for her!

derlor · 25/06/2007 20:49

Bumper hang in there infacol takes a couple of days to kick in.
i've personally not tried this, but several of my mum's at work swear by New Era colic relief - seems to be better than infacol for babies really struggling to burp. You can get this in Boots.
Maybe your osteopath can help i've heard great things about this too and chiropracty (?sp) for babies is also very successful.

daisyboo · 25/06/2007 20:53

bumper...try some fennel tea. You can get it at Holland and Barret. You can drink it yourself and give it to bub.

DD needs a lot of winding....took me 20 mins to get a burp earlier! Using infacol means it gets up in 5 or 10

Ria....I've just got my own back and been insensitive to you over on the other thread!

Saw the doc today...she didn't seem concerned that i still have a gaping wound and bad stomach pains...if it hasn't improved in two weeks or if it gets worse I've to go back.

lilKelBel · 25/06/2007 21:26

rofl re fluffy duck, daisy....

welcome to ff corner natty

lilKelBel · 25/06/2007 21:33

oh and ria, dummies + formula = happy baby in chez lilkel.... not the end of the world if it works for you

Seansgirl · 25/06/2007 21:57

Right, I here and now swear that I, Sean Beans best shag ever girl, do solemly swear not to be AWOL from my virtual mates again for so long. There. That feels better

DH has actually ordered me back on here as I have been really like a sack of shite the past few days - completely over anxious and over wrought about bloody everything. And when DH said he had to go back to work this thu coming well, floodgates just opened didn't they?

Anyway back later as have to skim read tom try and get up to speed....

By the way another one sat in the FF corner here (BF DD last time tho)

daisyboo · 25/06/2007 22:18

Think I've missed everyone tonight.....spent the last half hour with finger in DDs gob...I know she's not hungry but she just wants to get my boobs in her gob, and she pulls off the boob and chews on the end of my nipple....not very nice really.

I think she's got dia..the squits...as well from the antibiotics. Her poo is more green slime than yellow grainy mustard and I don't even know whether I should be worried about it or not

Seansgirl · 25/06/2007 22:22

Am still lurking Daisy. Am not sure either. But as you say it could be the antibotics or have you eaten something that could produce that colour?

Seansgirl · 25/06/2007 22:25

Juust wanted to say congratulations on all the new arrivals, I seemed to have missed loads! LOL Holly having a todler!

Seansgirl · 25/06/2007 22:36

Just wanted to say HI to Nannyjo and at you MW and OC! I was induced early too with OC, amongst other things and would have been mortified if anyone had said that to me! The MW on call said to me at the weekend looked pointedly at my stomach and said "you can start holding your stomach in too now!" when talking about pelvic floor exercises > Am also too big for my pre-prg fat clothes too maternity stuff a bit baggy tho
