E&H - sounds like you had a good weekend
Trixy - I love that you came home because the music was too loud nd you couldn't find a seat! We're all geting old! Lol at dh not getting ds to sleep, I love it when they have difficulty doing the things we do EVERY DAY! PMSL at the Phoenix Nights alarm
DH - glad the potty training is going well. We had ANOTHER code brown in the bath last night, agh! It's like having never done it before he's now going to make up for lost time!
MrsC - hope your feet are a bit less raw today, congrats to dd
Wilkie - 4 nights sleeping through! Fantastic! ds2 has started waking up at 5am again grrr.
Kw3K - bargain shopping!
Smallone - hellow and welcome (though seems strange to welcome you if you've been lurking for ages you already know us!) Hope dd's cold is better
RGee - did you crack open the weaning spoons at the weekend then?
UD - have you been banned from netmums yet?

Did anyone watch that Apprentice programme last night? Absolutely fascinating, seeing what all their upbringing's have done to make them the way they are. Made me look at Kristina differently, really strong lady. But really interesting that no-one could figure Katie out, not even her family knew why she was so driven. And at her saying she just did the NY marathon when pg and thought "if I'm still pg at the end of it then it's meant to be"!!! Nick and Margaret really like Lohit, don't they? (what am I going to watch when it's finished?!)
ds2 is stirring, best go...

I'VE DONE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

My thread has made it to the home page here

That's me, UD and Katwith3kittens (I think).

Rise to the challenge people.

2Happy - gutted I missed that Apprentice programme. I relly like Kristina anyway. And at Katie saying that - sorry but some people really do not deserve children

vinorouge · 04/06/2007 09:15

You ponder a lot of stuff don't you Wilkie???

You're famous !! - no more listening to Bros now!!! (hope you remember that one....I still listen to it...)

RGee · 04/06/2007 09:18

Morning all!

Panicked slightly this morning reading your posts. Thought I'd got the date wrong and should be heading off to see Vino and Wilkie today. Phew! Very much looking forwaqrd to tomorrow. EAH / LaL we'll spare you a passing thought

Had a lovely weekend. Saturday had nice pampering hair cut (the birds have flown the nest) and some red highlights (yes, I pushed the boat out!). Then bf came over (3rd time in a week, 35 weeks pg and she lives miles away!) with another pg friend and DH cranked up the bbq. DH did however mention my 'addiction' to MN and now my RL friends are going to track me down. I told them I'm not too hard to find but wouldn't say any more. Hello Caz & Merms if you've found me . Yes, this is me! Yesterday, DH got up with lo so I had a lie in until 10am...bliss...then spent the afternoon having a thorough wardbrobe sort out. You know the one, throw away clothes from 10 years ago that used to fit you when yyou were 4 sizes smaller. Have a huge pile for charidee shop now.

So now half term's over, hope you'll all return to Mn. It's been quiet this week on here.

Well done Wilkie!! I've never started my own thread. Spend too much time talking to you lot without finding others to gass to . Maybe I should rise to the challenge....hmmm....

Talking about Katie concord, I read in the News of the World (yes I know, quality read and all that - this is my lightweight reading where I find out all celeb gossip and what is happening on Coronation St / Big Brother / Apprentice - I get the Observer too...) that she has two daughters but puts work above them . I know this can be a bit of a male stereotype, and perhaps if she was a man she wouldn't get as much stick, but fgs!!!!! What a cow!

2Happy - yup, attempted baby rice yesterday - just a couple of dipped fingers of the stuff. Was v funny. She looked a little confused by it all but prob not helped by DH rofl at her face! Am sooo looking forward to the Apprentice next week. Surely Katie and Tre have to go - good to watch but crap to work with. Lohit seems a nice guy, but we haven't really seen a great deal of him throughout the series. Maybe just a head down get on with it sort of guy, or maybe lucky to get this far. And yes, defo option b for grandparents!!

Carrot Currant - glad the cold is better. But the toes...eewwwww..... Any more birds?

Trixy - also loved the coming home early cos you couldn't get a seat and music too loud!! Pmsl

EAH - hope Hattie is back to her normal sleeping pattern. Don't know what I'd do if lo woke in the night prob think it was Dh and turn over and go back to sleep [bad mum emoticon]. Sounds like you had a good weekened too. Is Ellie behaving herself?

PCF - hope you are enjoying the newly painted loo! How are the wedding plans coming along?

Dragon - does your house smell of wee?

Shimmer - am tempted by a door bouncer especially as my arms tire very easily of bouncing her up and donw on my lap.

BTW, have I mentioned that Pippa ROLLED OVER on Saturday. From her front to her back. She hasn't done it since though but I was most impressed! Finally she's done it [competitive mum emoticon]

Have a good day!

RGee · 04/06/2007 09:19

Vino - please tell me I don't have to listen to Bros in the car tomorrow.... NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

vinorouge · 04/06/2007 09:22

I watched the apprentice prog too and it has made me think I don;t mind who wins so long as its not Katie. DH pointed out that Kristina managed to say she didn't like Katie but without being rude like Katie had been about her.

Oh I am so jealous about other LO's sleeping through. No such luck for us. She still wakes every couple of hours and seems to be waking more often. Not sure if its the light in our room cos we only have blinds. I should move her to own room cos thats darker. She is constantly rolling over and surprises me how strong her head is. WEll currently she is screaming into her plymatso when I pick her up will have snot all down her face. NIce !!!!!!

My train trip last week went pretty smoothly. Ellen couldn't have been better behaved on the way down and the only cries were when I cut her foot when I caught it under her car seat. I had to change from Kings Cross to KX Thameslink and it went perfectly with my new buggy even though I looked a bit of a packhorse. However, the journey home when we leftLondon at 8.30 on Fri night was not so good. There were a lot of tears. A tired baby who wouldn;t feed even though she was starving so I had my boob in and out. The man next to me was so nice cos she kept kicking him when she tried to feed. He showed me all his pics of when he had been in Jordan recently at all the holy sights. Then it was funny cos as we pulled into Leeds station a girl was on the phone to her dad saying 'yes we;re just pulling inot Hull now'.....I told her we weren't and her face was a picture!!!!!

vinorouge · 04/06/2007 09:29

No bros tomorrow I promise Rgee.

Yesterday I was choosing some music to put on ipod while we were working in the garden and DH shouted to me 'Anything but bananarama' !!!

He he he I like my 80's tunes back from when I discovered what the charts were. I still sing tiffany I think we're alone now to myself cos it was the first song I ever learnt the words too.

JodieG1 · 04/06/2007 09:39

Morning all. Glad so many of you are liking my tip for easy personals So much easier. Not much time at the moment so I'll catch up with you all later on.

I've only just got over my sore throat and Ethan's gunky eyes have just got better too. We had a lovely sunny weekend. Dd chose what we were doing so on Sat we went for a walk around the lake, fed the ducks, flew dh's mini plane and had a picnic lunch. Then we came back home for a while as dh cut the grass, he found a frog which he almost strimmed but luckily didn't and we rehomed it in a nearby pond. Then we went to the park and pizza hut for dinner. Sunday we took it easier and went bowling in the morning then mcdonalds for lunch (dd's choice hehe), got some new plants for our fishtank and a new bottom feeder. Then spend the rest of the day in the garden.

Dd has her eye operation on Saturday which is why we let her choose what to do this weekend. I'm really scared about it now but dd isn't worrying, I explained it all to her and she seems ok just said she doesn't want to be alone. I told her we'd be with her all the time.

I've been doing lots of baking lately, bread, biscuits, muffins etc and I'm doing some more biscuits after. Also making some roast beef for dinner as I didn't get around to doing it yesterday.

See you later.

MrsCarrot · 04/06/2007 09:51

ok, so when I said half the skin was off my toes I sort of exaggerated (sp?) really it was a bit of a scrape

Cold feels on the way out but I'm really stuffy. I'm seeing the C.O today, I'm still having a lot of discomfort around the epidural site, hope it doesn't persist and I feel guilty about having it for evermore!

DH bought me some flowers yesterday and they're horrible, really Granny high stemmed things. As soon as I saw them I thought, just pretend you love them it was so kind of him but I just couldn't. I can't lie and he knows me so well. I said ooh thanks, and he said you don't like them do you? I said they're lovely and he raised his eyebrows and I said well, they are a but fogey and then he looked deeply wounded. Can you pretend you like something if you don't? Give me tips!

Bird has been in three times now, I'm no longer spooked I think they might be nesting in one of our trees and looking for food. Nuisance though.

MrsCarrot · 04/06/2007 09:55

Jodie- I can't imagine you going to Macdonalds somehow

Well done on the train trip, Vino, very brave!

I forgot to say I am totally and utterly knackered after LO WOKE UP LOADS between three and six

theUrbanDryad · 04/06/2007 10:10

Awww Jodie your dd sounds so brave! bless her choosing what she wanted to do at the weekend...do you know, i never saw you as a Pizza Hut/McDonalds kind of family?

last night was crappola here - we made the executive decision to have a bbq, then just as we'd got it lit, the heavens opened. and i mean opened. it pured with rain. the rain was like a vertical wall of water with tiny weeny slits in it. it rained humdrum. i have an amuisng picture of dh on our back doorstep huddled over very smoky bbq with an umberella.

anyway, after eating so much protein i felt very sick indeed, Zac decided to wake every 2 hours from 1am, faff about on the breast for an hour then fal into fretful sleep. it was very hot in our bedroom last night, so i was wondering if that was why. but then when i got him up this morning i discovered he had a massive damp patch on his sleepsuit. oops. bad mumma.

laughalot · 04/06/2007 11:07

Morning all

Wilks well done j on sleeping through again.

Rgee sounds like your journey will be fab with bros on .

Jodie im sure your dd will be fine, glad you had a good weekend.

Urban sorry the bbq was a washout I hate when that happens. Is z sitting up yet ?

Mrsc glad you feel better.

Well iv ordered Aidans birthday cake today as the lady gets very busy he is having a square cream and strawberry filling with Lightning McQueen painted on top he loves McQueen at the minute. Lauren is trying to sit up it is really funny bless her.

theUrbanDryad · 04/06/2007 11:32

LaL - no, Z isn't sitting up yet. he tries (tis very cute, looks like he's trying to do baby chin-ups!) but can't do it yet. i'm getting a bit fretful actually...i'm sure i've seen babies younger than him sit up! and yes, i know all babies are different, but i'm a pushy parent!!

JodieG1 · 04/06/2007 11:39

Thanks Lol we don't usually frequent pizza hut (I do love pizza though!) or mcdonalds but it was something she wanted so we went I usually home cook our meals lol so quite a difference.

JodieG1 · 04/06/2007 11:40

Oh and while I'm here, just got Ethan weighed at the clinic and he's now 19 pounds and 20 weeks He's a big boy hehe. Still haven't caught up but will try to this afternoon when ds1 is at pre-school.

theUrbanDryad · 04/06/2007 11:48

19lbs!!! bloody hell woman!!

Lynnyloo's Ethan is 16lbs at 17 weeks...must be something n the name!

BerryPie · 04/06/2007 18:01

Long time lurker, first time poster - I have a little girl who was born on January 6 and I like reading what all you lot are up to, just to reassure myself that things are normal (or not, as the case may be!)here! I'm quite attachment-y, I suppose you could say, as we're still co-sleeping and breastfeeding exclusively. I have bought spoons and baby rice but so far I'm just playing around with them for my own amusement

Anyway, just popping into tell everyone that The APPRENTICE program that was on last night is repeated on BBC2 tonight at 11:20. So if you missed it, there's still a chance. Oh, and I hate Katie, too!

Wilkie · 04/06/2007 18:13

Jodie - nothing wrong with a McDonalds or Pizza Hut every now and again IMO (although is it just me but since being pg I have totally gone off Burger Kind, McDonalds and KFC...??)

Really looking forward to our meet up tomorrow Vino and RGee. Will be there around 10am dependent on Lincoln traffic which can be a nightmare first thing.

Not much to report really, welcome Berrypie. Please do keep popping in, it's nice to meet the lurkers

Not much to report here, little J is turning into a little food monster. He had 6 - yes 6 - cubes of butternut squash and pear at lunch followed by a Danone Baby Yoghurt! Greedy guts.

My HV said I could give him meat at this stage but I queried it with her cos he is only 20 weeks and she said 'Well, I suppose he will be OK....' Erm, right. Methinks I'll be waiting until 26 weeks somehow.

It amazes me how advice differs greatly from one health professional to another!

theUrbanDryad · 04/06/2007 18:39

blimey it's quiet on here today!

Wilkie - every time i MSN you, you sign out! are you cross with me?

JodieG1 · 04/06/2007 18:56

Welcome Berrypie, nice to see you posting

UD - lol he is big, he was 17lb 4 at 15 weeks! Wonder how he gets on with food.

Wilkie - J sounds like he's coming on a lot, how much does he weigh now do you know? I never listen to the hv or even ask them anything as theh advice varies so much.

Enjoy your meet up tomorrow.

Anyone near Cambridge and fancy a meet one day?

Wilkie · 04/06/2007 19:10

Jodie - he's 16lb 5oz so not in Ethan's league but spot on the 50th centile

UD - v boring but I had to do a system restore which has fecked up my MSN. I need to upgrade it but when I go to the MSN website it is just a blank screen. Any ideas?

2Happy · 04/06/2007 19:23

Wilkie - well done on thread of the day! 18 months I've been MNetting and still never managed it harrumph! 6 cubes?! Porker!
RGee - congrats Pippa on the rolling over. ds1 didn't bother until 7m, so there's no point me being competitive (unless it's reverse competitiveness - well my ds rolled last!). The hairdo sounds good! Yes, Katie has two dd's, and I suppose she's no worse than (say) Tre who has a 2yr old ds, putting her career first, but her primary motivation seems to be herself whereas his seems to be to achieve enough stability to then get back to his family.
vino - lol "we are pulling into Hull". How about a good bit of A-Ha for 80s cheese...hunting high and low, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa...Morten, swoon
Jodie - glad dd is cool about the op. How long will it take? Will she be in hosp long? Can't be doing with MaccyD's myself but loooooooooooove a good dripping in fat pizza, lol!
MrsC - I have never had any control over facial expressions when I don't like something - I think I'm being really nice but it's usually totally obvious! (sadly sometimes I look like that even when I like something ). Hope you get a better night tonight.
Lal - when's A's birthday?
Berry - hello and welcome
Enjoy the meet up tomorrow

RGee · 04/06/2007 20:32

Evening all.

Vino - am so impressed that you managed a trip to London with E on your own (even if journey home was a bit stressful). I ventured in to town today - buggy friendly bus both ways, and drivers who lowered the bus for me - but still get a little twitchy about the bus journey! Love Tiffany btw. Am happy for you to put on greatest hits of the 80's so long as you don't mind me singing along. Now 2Happy - I defo agree with you about Morten. Yummy!!!! Put A-ha on the stereo!

Jodie - glad you're all feeling a bit better. Your dd is very brave. Nom nom to all your cooking, and I have to agree with everyone else, I didn't have you down as a Mcdonalds gal . BTW was a bit disappointed in the ending to 24 last night. Won't say any more in case you recorded it.

Carrot - your poor dh! Well funny!! Trying to picture 'Granny high stemmed things' but can't quite grasp it. Bless him! They weren't from the garage were they?

UD - remind me never to have a bbq when you're having one....

Lal - excuse my poor knowledge, but who is Lighning McQueen?

Berry - welcome welcome Come out come out all you other lurkers! How many more of you out there. Have you just the one dd?

Wilkie - I hope you're bringing a full on picnic for J tomorrow. I presume squash & pear were not mixed together Lovely photos btw. Looking forward to meeting the handsome chap! I hope you have prepared J for the girls tomorrow!!

Must dash. Off to watch Corontaion St before DH turns his golfing XBox game back on...
