Went to my other Nan's house today and had a lovely day. Went to a park which has ducks which Luke loved. He was very good all day which was a total shock! Also got yummy nan cake! mmmmm!

Laughalot- it was me asking about potty training but thanks for the info. THink I will go the whole hog next week as have nothing planned.

Lizz - good luck with the packing.xxx

Rgee, I am more into a rugby player like physique ie bulky but not defined (not the cauliflower ears!). Just dont like 'girly boys' which I think lewis is. He is so wet! Dont really like long hair either. And he is a real whinger.

UD/Wilkie- Ruth seems fine after her jabs. Did give her a dose before bed just in case but she too was a little angel today!

Hope weeveryone with colds are feeling better soon. Think Luke is getting a cold again too.

Dragonhart · 31/05/2007 21:35

FFS, DH has just set up our new house alarm, with a recording of Peter Kay shouting "get back you bastard, I'll break your legs" !!!!

He is now pissing himself laughing, and is phoning his best mate to let him hear!!

Am very at the doctor. I went back yesterday to say that the gaviscon and infacol wasn't making any difference to the feeding expecting him to want to try smething else. he just said that as dS was gaining weight then him screaming at every feed was just a minor inconvenience and just to continue with the meds he had given us.

Had my cranial osteopath appt today. She said that DS has congested sinuses which is giving him pain when feeding. Hopefully whatever she has done will sort him out.

trixymalixy · 31/05/2007 22:34

Lynnyloo - welcome to the thread!!

RGee - I have no idea what I'd have done. Would have had to beg random strangers to spare me a few pennies!!

Mrs C - I'm hoping if ou CO appt has an effect then I can give up the dairy free diet as it didn't seem to be having much of an effect.

UD - DS gets fed up with his playgym every so often. I have to rotate his toys otherwise he gets a bit bored.

Lizz - hope the packing is going OK. these things always seem so daunting until you get started.

Wilkie- two of my friends have the same Chicco high chair and say it's fab. Will try and ask them what one it is.

RGee · 01/06/2007 08:05

Morning.
Been quiet here - you all enjoying half term then? Due to be a lovely hot sunny day in Yorkshire today and tomorrow. Hurrah for June! Hope you can get out today Manda.
Hope you had a better night last night Wilkie, and those of you with colds are on the mend.
Watched Apprentice last night, and the attachment of the trampoline legs had me pmsl too! So funny! 2Happy - good observation about the different outfits. Do you reckon Alan says you're fired, then they all hang around afterwards for some champers and a chin wag before flouncing off for the camera?
My mum's coming over shortly for a school reunion - 40 years on - but is bobbing in here before and after.
Catch you later.

Wilkie · 01/06/2007 09:11

He slept through! 6.15pm-7.20am with two 5 minute screams in the middle of the night but me being a mean mummy just ignored him and he went back off no problem. Well, I say ignored him, DH PHSL cos when it all went quiet I crept out of bed to peer round the door of the nursery to make sure J was OK. I'm not THAT mean to just leave him

Feel refreshed if not snotty today. Colds are still hanging around. My nose is totally blocked and I can't taste anything (maybe now would be a good time to give a BJ?? ROFL)

JJ is currently in his door bouncer with a HUGE bubble of snot coming out of his nose.....best go.....

Will read up properly later, broadband was down all yesterday afternoon and evening

Wilkie · 01/06/2007 09:47

Any suggestions welcomed here

morning all - well i am a bit low today. yesterday i went to Bedford to visit Janipher Maseko, the mother who was forcibly separated from her babies (2 weeks and 14months old at the time!) and although she has been released from the detention centre, she is terrified that the Immigration Services may come for her in the night and deport her with minimum fuss. she is such a strong woman, she is only 18 and has suffered horrific things in her short life. anyway, hopefully we will be able to sort things out for her.

after going to see Janipher i went to another MNer's house for dinner and stuck Z under the playgym there and he loved it! fickle child. i think he's just fed up with his own one. it has raised sides so he can't roll around! oh, and bumbo is a no-go. you know how they're not supposed to be able to get out of them? yeah, well, he can. using his special Z-like powers to arch his back then go all stiff and wriggle his way out of it. his massive weeble bum helps too i think.

must dash - am meeting mates for walk in park (Lynny if you're still around...now you know why i'm always late to meet you guys! )

smallone · 01/06/2007 14:09

Hello all I'm new to posting, although I've been reading since I was 8 mo pg (mostly at 2am!) Just been laughing at the Peter Kay house alarm! - where on earth do you get that!

Good to hear others are suffering with snot from hell. dd was grunting and snuffling all night last night. so I got the total of 2 hours sleep. dh propped her in the corner of the sofa this morning and she fell asleep with her head lolling like her granddad! poor lamb. She seems to have caught up on her sleep now - but have I? - have I heck! [eyelids propped open with matchsticks]

smallone · 01/06/2007 14:11

2Happy - I think long term swallowing toothpaste can cause flourosis (sp?) of the teeth - which is a discolouration thing. I think you'll be alright tho coz I don't think colgate is habit forming!

ellieandhattie · 01/06/2007 17:46

been quiet on here today do you have real lives??? (lizz i assume you are moving today and forgot to wish you good luck)

Had quite a good day popped to IL'S as fil birthday at weekend but they are going on holiday tomorrow. Then BF and her lo's came round Ellie and her best mate only had few fights (mainly over something stupid0 but fairly well behaved, Hattie just going to bed and Ellie going up at 6.30 then chinese for me and dh nom nom

smallone · 01/06/2007 17:55

ellieandhattie · 01/06/2007 18:00

Wilkie · 01/06/2007 18:47

sweet and sour chicken hong knong style
egg fried rice
chilli beef
chips
prawn crackers

Heh heh - separated at birth???

ellieandhattie · 01/06/2007 18:58

We would be easy to 'wait on' in a restaurant wouldnt we

Dragonhart · 01/06/2007 19:59

Welcome smallone! Cant believe you havent posted til now!

Wilkie - we bought one of those sleepright mattresses from mothercare and Luke slept like...well a baby! Would def recomend them as he was less sweaty with it too.

2happy- Luke tries to get to the toothpaste whenever he can. Loves it! He would suck it off his toothbrush all day if I let him. He also loves extra strong mints! Strange boy. Hope ds1's tummy is ok.

Went to the new shopping center in Warrington today and thought it was great. Although not good for my purse! Saw some gorgeous outfits for Ruth for the wedding we are going to but just couldnt make up my mind! Hard enough deciding on clothes for me but for Ruth- even harder!

All those with girls- do I go for a really weddingy dress that she might puke on or get a couple of sets of those smart long tops and trouser sets? Will a big dress drive me mad? Have quite a long drive to the wedding before. Any advice would be helpful!

ellieandhattie · 01/06/2007 20:03

when ellie was 5 weeks we went to very close friends wedding (i was meant to be bridesmaid but couldnt as they couldnt o dess in time) and we took ellie in a pretty cream dress and lilac cardi (from m&s oxford st) for the wedding then changed her into a 'comfy outfit' at the sit down part of meal as she seemed happier in 'normal clothes' you could always change her back for evening reception

Wilkie · 01/06/2007 20:14

DH - have I been thick? Should you always buy a mattress for travel cots?

Have bought one off ebay (Mothercare one but £5 cheaper) from annieapple21 - I am convinced it is our very own annieapple....

Dragonhart · 01/06/2007 20:15

That sounds like a good idea EAH. Really struggling to find a dress that is smart enough though. Saw a gorgeous one in M&S but it looked awful against Ruth's skin as it was a goldy beige colour. Also saw one in Mothercare but again beigey colour. They have some really nice stuff in Monsoon but soooo expensive! It is quit hard to find a real party dress with underskirt. Wanted one with tshirt sleeves but think I will have to just put a vest on under.

Dragonhart · 01/06/2007 20:17

No Wilkie- We got our travel cot from my nephew and he never had one. I got it because we were going away for a week and I thought he would get uncomfortable. Also so I could wash it if he was sick on it or his nappy leaked.

laughalot · 01/06/2007 20:25

Hi ladies just a quick one please have a look at my latest pics xxx

ellieandhattie · 01/06/2007 20:32

LAL love the toe sucking I cant believe how blond her hair is cutey!!

Dragonhart · 01/06/2007 20:34

Awww! So cute Laughalot. Ruth has just begun to suck her thumb and I think it looks so cute. Perhaps wont feel like that when she is 20 and still doing it though!

ellieandhattie · 01/06/2007 20:34

I have some gorgeous dressy dresses that I would have lent you DH except they are newborn and 9-12 months and 12-18 months etc don;t think we were invited anywhere requiring 'dressing up' between 6 weeks old and 9 months
