ps - no internet connection for 2 WHOLE WEEKS! flipping BT. what are they trying to do to me?! How will I cope?!

ellieandhattie · 31/05/2007 08:31

at BT Lizz (how we will cope without our flapjacks?) although that will give you time to unpack at the new house rather than MN all day

Packing - just start in one room have box for packing, black sack for rubbish (if you havent used it for last 6 months you DONT need it) and another for charity shop. Set yourself a time limit ie I must do three kitchen cupboards int he next 1.5 hours. If I lived closer I'd come and help as I love packing up, can anyone have DJ for a couple of hours/a day as you'd be amazed how much you could do!

ellieandhattie · 31/05/2007 08:32

and GET OFF HERE now and go and pack for an hour and then come back and tell us what you have done then we'll set you your next task

Wilkie · 31/05/2007 08:36

2Happy - I p*ssed myself too at the Apprentice - Simon with those bloody screw on legs . But also threw thing at the TV when 'The Nose' was on saying on the clip from next week that 'She earns £90k, has a BA gold card and didn't get where she was today by staying at home playing mummy' [shcok[ She is quite quite quite unbearable!

And yes, I noticed the 'leaving' outfit was completely different too.

Night was shite cos J has a cold (again) which I have now caught and he spent from 2.40am-3.30am screaming and I mean screaming. Couldn't leave him cos he was poorly but couldn't settle him either.

Where is that 'matchsticks propping eyes open' emoticon when you need it.

Lizz - GO PACK LADY!!!!!!!!!!! EAH will do your laminated labels if you ask her nicely

mandapanda27 · 31/05/2007 09:00

Hello all!

I hope all mums and babies are doing well. I have started Ben on some food! At the moment I am feeding him at lunch time. This is how it has gone so far.....

Day 1 - Baby rice. Pulled faces, what's this you are giving me? Where's my boob!?!

Day 2 - Baby rice again. Realise it was ok and loved it!

Day 3 - Baby rice still. Hated it, had a couple of spoonfulls and refused to play games.

Day 4 - I put a bit of banana with the rice, and he was back to liking it.

Day 5 - Loves the baby rice and banana!!

So, we're sticking with the banana for the moment

Horrible weather here means that DS1&2 are going crazy! I don't think they can wait to go back to school! The trouble is the things we had planned are outside things, and it's been rainy, windy and soooo cold that it's not nice to take Ben out in it. They are not 'sit down and do something' children either, they are 'run around and go loupy' children. I see a little gilpse of sun at the moment, there is hope yet.

Right must go....Ben is waking up and will require me (.)(.)

Sorry, didn't get a chance for personals...all about me me me!!

ellieandhattie · 31/05/2007 09:13

sounds like your ds's would get on well with dd1 as she is not a sitting still child either more like kamikaze kid who ill climb the tallest thing in the park and then want to jump off

Wilkie · 31/05/2007 09:25

Manda - PMSL. J didn't like baby rice so quickly progressed onto purees. I have yet to find anything he doesn't like (actually I tell a lie - he doesn't like courgette). He has had red pepper the past three days and loves it but I panicked big style this morning when I opened his nappy to find a huge poo with red in it thought it was blood until I remembered the red pepper [bliush].

J's food diary is:

7.30am - rusk mixed with milk and fruit
11.30am - 6oz bottle
3.00pm - veg puree followed by Danone baby yoghurt. Drink of diluted juice.
6.15pm - 7oz bottle
10.30pm - 6oz bottle
Sometime in the dead of the night - 3oz bottle which is being cut to 2oz tonight if he is better (nasty mummy)

Well, have mum and grandma coming today to look for curtains in our huge houseware only British Home Stores. Have superglued my purse shut ;)

DH - I second UDs comment about the jabs. J wasn't himself for about 5 days afterwards. Really really crabby.

Off to clinic once J has woken up to get him weighed - I'm guessing 17lb.

I'm rambling cos I'm bored. Anyone coming out to play???

laughalot · 31/05/2007 10:16

Morning well I have a busyish day today my bro is over from scotland it is his birthday today so my mum, dad and bro are coming over bless them and aidan is going to sing to my bro and give him his big chocalate cake nom nom. Lillte loz is fine she is still sleeping through sorry wilks. Will look out for the outfit change on the apprentice as I taped it .

Wilkie does j like red pepper never tried aidan or loz with that.

Lizz good luck with the house and the packing.

Wah hope your little girlies will be good for there mummy today.

2happy I have only just managed to get aidan potty trained he is 3 in july he would do a wee on the potty no problem but would not do a poo at all he would ask me to put him a nappy on to poo. Finally he has done it after I decided to chuck the nappies away it took him about 3 hours to do it, it was hell as he was screaming but it worked. I have never used pull ups as they say you are making a rod for your own back I just went cold turkey and the day he pooed on the potty I made him wear pants for bed too and we have had little accidents but its been fine otherwise. Good luck just dont get uptight about it like I did apprently boys are alot harder to train than girls.

Lizzzombie · 31/05/2007 11:12

I have soooooo much stuff.
Have chucked out tons & tons.
Am only about half way through.
When I used to do this before DJ, I'd have a beer or two to get me through it.
But I cant do that today...OMG, I think I am having a breakdown.
DP has packed up lots of his bits and pieces, and not labeled any of the boxes.
The removal men are going to have a fit when they see how much stuff we have.
Its not normal.

Lizzzombie · 31/05/2007 11:12

In my head I am so minamilist.

theUrbanDryad · 31/05/2007 11:38

ok, has anyone else's LO's started having a screaming fit when they get put under their baby gyms? i put Z down under his gym while i went to do the washing up and he had a massive tantrum! so i put him in his swing, and he was fine. but then i put him under his baby gym so i could do a bit of MN and check my emails and he screamed again! most inconsiderate of him! all he wants to do is be on my lap or be stood up - what do you do? i don't want to use a baby walker as there really isn't the space in my house and i really didn't want him mobile yet!

2Happy · 31/05/2007 12:12

Lizzz - sympathies on the packing. No internet for 2 weeks?! Get thee to an internet cafe!!
Oh Wilkie, that "sit at home playing Mummy" comment - grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr but I bet she can't flirt with the interviewers like she does with SAS. Sorry you and J are poorly, hope you're both feeling better soon
manda - IKWYM about the kids going loupy in the bad weather, ds1 was like that yesterday (hence the bad mummy sitting him in front of cbeebies, guilt, guilt), but it's lovely and sunny here today so we're off to my mum's to play on the trampoline all afternoon!
lal - it wasn't me doing potty training, it was dh - but thanks for the tips since I'm thinking of attempting it this summer [fear emoticon]
UD - ds2 still loves the babygym, don't know what I'd do if he didn't! Have you tried a bumbo - upright but immobile

OP posts:
MrsCurrant · 31/05/2007 12:14

arse, just lost my whole post, gggrr, upshot is I have stinking cold and feel bery rough, had various things to say to people but will post again later now!

Shimmer · 31/05/2007 13:12

Hi all. ohhh i can't wait to watch the apprentice now! DP wasn't in last night so I was extra specially thoughful and didn't watch it so we can watch it together later. Ended up watching BB instead!! It's all girls! I haven't watched it at all the last few years cos it's just looked so rubbish, but this year does look kind of interesting i spose...

Hows the packing going Lizz?? I'm another one who doesn't mind packing actually. Unpacking though... that's the worst!

Freddie & I have now both got colds! and combined with F teething a bit we're not having great nights here either! He's been waking up about every couple of hours which i'm really not enjoying having got used to him sleeping 10/11 hours at night.

Wilkie the make-up business sounds fab! You must be so excited! F was weighed at his jabs last week and was 15lbs 10, which is exactly on the middle line of the chart thing (whatever that is in the centiles?)- so completly normal basically. Which is good cos I was getting a bit fed up of random people in shops and stuff asking how old he is and then looking shocked and saying "gosh isn't he big!". Well no actually he's not big at all. He is in fact the most average size you can be!!! So there.

UD Freddie only likes his gym in moderation and gets bored with it pretty quickly. I'd just try different things for a few days... he might like it again after a bit of a break from it?!?

Interesting weaning story manda! I'm going to try Freddie on some food quite soon i think. Once he's over his cold. Think i'll just miss out the baby rice altogther (it does look a bit yucky!) and start on purees. Although you can mix puree with baby rice to weaken the taste a bit can't you? Praps worth trying if just the fruit/veg onits own is too strong?

One last thing...(and its a poo thing!) don't know whether its the cold or what but the last 2 days Freddie has been doing lots of small poos instead of 1 big poo! Usually he was pretty consistant in doing 1 (pretty substantial!) poo a day. But he's started doing about 5 or 6 now. But they're only really small and sometimes not much more than a wet fart (!) But it is a big wierd. And I keep having to change him all the time!

Right off out... hasn't rained yet today! Horray!

lynnyloo · 31/05/2007 17:32

hi Em, i mean UD... Dude has started to scream when i put him under the baby gym, whereas before he used to live under it (BAD MOTHER)i think its partly down to his snotty nose, and he's learning to sit up... he'll only do it on his terms, well fed, watered changed etc....

thanks for the welcome everyone sorry to gatecrash but UD is always talking about you.

just abit of personal stuff Ethan clark Dude is my first and he has just gone 17 week

RGee · 31/05/2007 20:02

Hi all!
Had a lovely couple of days with best friend and her big bump! Had a good squeeze and poke of her tummy (I asked permission first of course!).
What's been going on here in my absence then?

Welcome Lynn! No doubt UD's filled you in on us all. what's she said about me??

2Happy - NEE NAW NEE NAW ...hope the neighbour's chimney was fine after the fire. Bit of drama in the sticks!

Dragon - describe your perfect man. I must add, Lewis isn't my perfect man, but he's easy on the eye. Mmmm.. Phillip Schofield's twinkly eyes..mmm..Daniel Craig's torso...mmmm.....my DH's hands...mmmm....>
Is Ruth ok today?

CarrotCurrant - Loved BB last night. Am hooked already. Those twins made me pmsl. Ohhh ... pink....!! So girly. I hate girly!! And loon footballers cousin Bah. How's your cold?

Trixy - what a nice security man. God, what would you have done otherwise??!

Wilkie / 2H - taped Apprentice last night in favour of BB - will watch it soon when DH goes out for a run. Did catch Your Fired though so know who's won. Can't cope with anticipation and not knowing. I always read the end of a book before getting too into it then return to where I was

Lizz - 2 WEEKS!!!!! No way! You HAVE to go to an internet cafe. Just think of the catching up you'll have to do. We'll be on to thread number 12! Hope the packing has gone well btw. Was pleased EAH was there to help you along

Manda/Shimmer - still gearing myself up to weaning. This weekend I reckon I'll crack open the weaning spoons so that DH can get involved. I want to go straight onto purees and skip the baby rice too. I presume that's fine. Baby rice just seems too dull (for me that is - lo would prob be interested in change of texture but not too sure)

Wilkie - I bought a highchair today. Wooden though which I remember you didn't want, rip off of a Trip Trap one, not quite as cool, but for a third of the price.
Hope J is feeling a bit better and you're feeling awake. Boo to all the colds!

Lal - chuck us some cake please now that Lizz has moved. Tesco shopping came yesterday and I FORGOT TO ORDER CHOCOLATE. How did that happen? How could I forget? No Green & Black's Maya Gold...sob...Hope you had a nice day with the family.

UD - lo still loves her gym but usually likes me to play with her. Yup, can't think of anything better to do other than bat and swipe at Mr Whoozit and look at myself in Pooh's mirror for hours at a time.

God It's taken me about an hour to write this so how many posts since I started this (mum did ring in the middle though so I'm not totally slow). Might go and watch Apprntice now.

RGee · 31/05/2007 20:04

No one here tonight then? Been a quiet afternoon.....

2Happy · 31/05/2007 20:08

I was talking to ds2 this evening and he was giving me his lovely smile...

....when suddenly he lowered his head and smiled up under his eyelashes!

Oh good god, ds2 is Katie!! Hngaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!

ellieandhattie · 31/05/2007 20:34

he he I LOVE my lists- when I was planning our wedding I had a huge box with files in and scheduled databse for when balances were due contact names etc. In fact when I took all the stuff to hotel day beofre wedding I think they pissed themselves as they said they had never seen such organisation.

I had colour coded plastic boxes one for each table then in each box was a table plan to ensure seating was right, favours etc, menus and example layouts (individually done for each table) etc etc I also made up activity packs all wrapped up for the kids and they were put on each childs chair for the dinner/speeches (I even layered the wrapping so they had a new thing every 20 minutes ie sticker book/then colour pencils/then reading book etc) I have kept my wedding box to show the girls when they are older.

I would love to be a wedding planner but couldnt be arsed working every saturday!!!!!!!!!

MrsCurrant · 31/05/2007 21:02

EAH- Seriously? That is superb organisation, no way could I ever be like that. I really would like to be though, I'm much happier when it's all just so, I just can't seem to quite do it

Rgee, Cold is the same, thanks for asking. I have another ginormous hot toddy with armagnac here.

Trixy- Dh bought me that marg but I haven't tried it yet, still on the Suma Olive! A friend brought some double chocolate and orange/carrot buns to Lunch yesterday and they were really delicious. Tesco's I think, I don't shop there but could make the effort for these! Also had a
pot of organic raspberry sorbet this evening. Yum!

Hello everyone else

laughalot · 31/05/2007 21:33
