Happy Birthday for yesterday nat - hope you had a lovely evening with DH!

NatalieJane · 23/06/2007 18:10

Thanks everyone We had a lovely evening, chinese, candle light, ahem... I'll spare you the rest of the details - this time!!! T'was very nice though LOL

Has anyone else noticed that they are no longer looking like babies? George looks like a little boy now I really can't believe I am never going to have another baby

Stacey I hope things pick up for you soon xxx

Where is everyone? It has been uber quiet on here recently, Too busy with RL and babies I guess.

Right I am off to put some things on eBay, I need to start getting rid of his clothes, his wardrobe is about to burst with clothes that haven't fitted him for 6 months....

Charlee · 23/06/2007 18:17

Hi NJ! I am lurking here and there! lol

Glad you had a nice birthday.
Harry is getting to be a proper little boy now its quite sad to think that i to will never he another baby, but i am looking forward to all the other parts of the boys lives and sharing it with them.

Harry has taken a great disliking to his pushchair and screams the bloomin place down everytime he is in it which is amking it impossible for me to shop for a dress for my sisters wedding!

I am still dieting and excersisig i haven't actually lost any wieght but i have lost 2 1/2 inches from my hips waist and boobs! im well chuffed.
I jaoined a website calle weight loss resource and you have an online diary where you put in your food intake and excersise, i was messing about with it last night and i put sex into the excersise bit and it came up with either slow, moderate or fast and furious! DP was well chuffed!

AlfieJacksmummy · 23/06/2007 19:07

pmsl charlee - how funny! Well done you that is brilliant losing that amount. What is the website like? I might take a little looky? Been feeling a bit slimmer lately (i think its worry) but just had a KFC so wont last long!!!

NJ - glad you had a nice night Good luck with ebay, ive found silly things sell and really nice stuff doesn't

SleeplessInTheStaceym11House · 23/06/2007 20:08

right going to have a looky at active convos!!

Charlee · 24/06/2007 12:20

Glaf to ear your getting bac on trck Stacey.
Jack and Harry love out cat Boots he's so placid he doesn't care when Harry rolls over him or when Jack puts sunglasses on him!

AJ i'm really getting on well with the websit its here its good becuase you can still eat what you want as lobg as ou dont exceed your daily calorie limit so the odd KFC is fine! Plus at only £10 a month its so much cheaper than others i looked at online and they send you a starter pack and everything.

Were stuck in today its storming up a treat outside! Jack and i have been baking we made chocolate cupcakes, cheese straws and i am going to do some cherry chocolate brownies later. I love to cook so im happy, happy, happy!!!!!!!!!

AlfieJacksmummy · 24/06/2007 20:17

Oh thanks Charlle, I will have a look in a bit cos im just putting some stuff on ebay.
Glad your happy , im feeling today, its getting imminent that we will have to rehome the cats its really getting me down!

AlfieJacksmummy · 24/06/2007 22:06

Nj - was that you on the pets thread looking for a home for your cat? If so did you find one and how cos looks like we are going to have to do the same!

NatalieJane · 25/06/2007 10:57

Hiya

AJM, it was me and no we still haven't found a home for her, I hate to say it but time is really getting the better of us, DS1 is getting no better with her still in the house and we are getting to the point of having to place her in a home, which we really didn't want to do, but I just can't see anything else happening I am quite annoyed really, my MIL has two cats and feeds all of the neighbourhood strays that go in her house, it wouldn't make any difference to her at all to have another cat and she just won't, but enough about my MIL before I really get started!!! LOL

Looking for a bit of advise girlies, George isn't taking to solids very well at all, I have tried him with weetabix, mashed up fruits and veggies, rice, readybrek even some of the dreaded jars and apart from the odd crust of bread which sometimes he swallows a tiny bit of, he isn't having any of it. Is it possible he just isn't ready for it, or do I need to keep trying?

AlfieJacksmummy · 25/06/2007 11:12

NJ- i totally know what you mean, the time is running out for us too, we have to be out no later than the 31st of July and we've found nowhere, someone on here told me that they rehomed her with cpl but kept the cat at home till they found a home so the cat wasnt stuck in a pen, so thats what im looking at doing now, I couldnt even speak on the phone for crying this morning talking about it .
As for food, Alfie had a phase of the same (I made him 5 dinners one night) I was told if he is hungry he would eaty and not to try lots of different things cos you make him fussy so I just tried one thing each meal time, he lost a bit of weight but the hv wasnt too worried and it turned out he probably had a stomach bug like me and it was best he didnt eat cos he would of made himself sick, he sure made up for it the week after and is fine now

NatalieJane · 25/06/2007 11:31

It is so sad isn't it? You don't realise how attached you get to them. I am not an 'animal' sort of person, she is DH's really, we got her because he wanted her, but now.... I keep looking at the photos of her when she born and when we first brought her home

About the food, George hasn't had any solids before (well not since he was about 3 months and then got really poorly and hasn't been interested in them since), he is just starting out on them so I don't know if it is a bit different to them just going through a phase? Problem is, he is now only a week or two off 7 months old and he is still just feeding off me. I don't know how long it is safe to let him carry on like that. He has already really slowed down putting the weight on.

NatalieJane · 25/06/2007 11:37

Actually have just found another thread that was almost exactly the same, infact I could have writen it myself, and it has answered a few worries... basically it is just keep trying and not to worry about how much is or isn't eaten.

podglet · 25/06/2007 12:46

Hi all, hope good weekends were had, despite the weather

NJ, I think it takes them time to learn how to push the food to the back of their tongue to then swallow it down IYSWIM? That may be why he doesn't seem too interested. Have you tried some really runny baby rice (although DS spat that out until I put some apple in it!) he'll get the hang of it!

AJM, how was the house you looked at on Saturday?

Stacey - glad things are getting better for you

Charlee - are you getting more help with Jack's stuff yet?

saralou · 25/06/2007 13:14

morning all, everone has given me the dreaded lurgy... i feel so crap and i ache from head to toe.. particularly my bum cheeks!! why they ache i do not know!!

nat, my experience with owen has shown that they will be fine... i don't think he ate any solids until he was 18 months! fussy little sh**e! the only thing he would eat was a heinz jar, just the one flavour though! whats your opinion on blw? ryan will not take anything from a spoon, but will quite happily shovel chunks of fruit and veg in for himself... i've given up on spooning anything and exist in a happy don't care world

sorry you have to get rid of your cats both of you... i'm a dog lover personally but all our dogs have been rescue dogs and my sister got her cats from rspca... i know they do vet people well and do home checks after they've been rehomed, don't feel too bad if you have to do this, they do still get love and attention!

i'm going to shut up now, my tempreture is making me ramble apparently

Charlee · 25/06/2007 18:42

Evening.

Yes i got through to the hospitalit seems the dr 'forgot' tobook Jack a clinic appointment which is why he hasn't been seen. I rang up and had a calmword with him and now i not only have a direct phone number to his office but Jack is being seen on Wednessday!

AJ and NJ - Sorry to hear about your cat's Jack isn't particuarly good with ours luckily it is so laid back it doesn't care! I do know how it feels to have to rehome a pet though it's like loosing a family member.

Saralou i hope your feeling better soon.

Anyway must dash and make dinne.

NatalieJane · 26/06/2007 09:33

Morning

Took DS1 for his eye test yesterday, no glasses needed, but they think he is colour blind. Came home and rang my mum - as you do - and she pipes up with 'oh my dad was colour blind'.... he is being re-tested in 6 months so we just have to wait and see.

My sister who lives in Cheltenham took over an hour and a half to do a 10 minute school run yesterday morning because of the flooding, luckily their house isn't effected but we have loads of other family in Cheltenham (Grans, uncles and aunts, my dad it would be a damn shame if his house is flooded......) but it sounds pretty bad down there. It is on Sky News at the moment that a damn is about to burst near Leeds, they have evacuated the villages that are in the valley below it, but could you imagine leaving your house and all the things in it, pictures of the kids, everything.... how awful I hope none of you are too badly effected by the flooding.

Charlee, hopefully things will get sorted a lot quicker now.
Sara hope you feel better soon, had to LOL at your excuse for rambling, what was your excuse for all the rest of the time? I am only kidding

Right I am off to give George his third lot of breakfast....!

saralou · 26/06/2007 09:51

that from a girl who can't do short posts!! cheeky!

shall not attempt to consruct any sentences today then !!!!!!

NatalieJane · 26/06/2007 10:28

LOL I can do short posts.

NatalieJane · 26/06/2007 10:29

See....

AlfieJacksmummy · 26/06/2007 10:43

NJ - I live in Gloucester!! (about 5 mins from Chelt)thats so weird I didnt think anyone was near me! My mum is in the Forest of Dean and her front garden was in her hall the other morning cos of the flooding and half the schools are closed.

NatalieJane · 26/06/2007 10:47

Ahhh, my Aunt lives in Gloucester!

I used to live in Cheltenham, do you know where the train station is in Cheltenham? There is a pub there called The Midland, we used to live there, my mum and dad ran it together

AlfieJacksmummy · 26/06/2007 11:08

Your aunt doesn't want 3 cats does she?? (only kidding)
I think I know which one you mean, I dont go to chelt that often, but funnily enough Im going shopping there in a minute (how spooky!) You will have to let me know next time your up visiting

SleeplessInTheStaceym11House · 26/06/2007 15:10

NJ colourblindness (sp???? [hmmm]) runs through the girls but generally affects boys......right that sounds complicated, if your mums dad had it it would be passed down through her, possibly affect any boys she had, it may then go down through you and possibly affect your boys. so it is a possibility!!

my dads colourblind so it's passed through me, possibly to keiran. and although its very rare i think chloe is affected as she gets the right colours wrong (iykwim) red/green are interchangable a lot of the time purple is blue......all seems a bit conincidental when my dad is exactly the same!

dd is a lot better now, shes nearly finished her course of anti-bs now and is much better in herself!!

im so tire4d today tho as was out deliverig this morning and had lots of hills and my legs are now killing me!! if this doesnt make me slim i dont know what will!!!!

me and dh have given up smoking (hopefully for good this time) we honestly dont have the money! have just had to fork out £800 to get the car fixed, which we dont have in the first place, our overdraft is up to its £2000 limit and we need to get back on track...........so no fags, no treats, no meals out, no takeaways, no days out (that cost money), no new clothes for us/kids that arent needed (we dont need anything!!!), no nothing, until the overdraft is paid off!! am also saving my wages from the delivering up to pay off too, dont see much point in leaving it in the account at £72 a week coz it wont get paid off so im putting it in a savings account until iv got a bulk so it can be a bit more noticable and should stay paid off iykwim!

right im writing a marathon post so il let you all go if you havnt fallen asleep already!!

AlfieJacksmummy · 26/06/2007 15:27

Sorry Podglet - how rude I didnt answer your question about the house. It was horrible really dingy and disgusting (im not a snob)but good news I found another one this morning that will let us take the cats im going to see it tom morning so fingers crossed again ladies (sorry)its a bit further out than we would like but if we can keep the cats it will be great.

NatalieJane · 26/06/2007 15:36

Yes Stace that is how I understand it, someone said it runs through the X chromisone(sp? I know that isn't right but can't think how to spell it!!) - Boys have two X's and girls have a Y and a X, so the boys are more likely to get it because they have two lots of the X.... phew.....!! My mum didn't have any boys, she had five girls, and three of us have gone on to have 5 boys and another boy on the way altogether, so I should imagine that mum and I are carriers of it and so I have passed it on to DS1. DS1 doesn't have any problems with his colours at all, he has known them all since he was 18 months/2yo, which is why I couldn't understand how he could be colour blind, but now I realise it isn't that he sees red where there is green, it is just he can't differinciate between the two when they are together, i.e. if there was a red piece of paper with green writing on it he wouldn't be able to see the green writing. It is quite interesting - well sort of!! LOL

AJM I love Cheltenham town centre, haven't been shopping properly there for about 5 years now, I must make a day of it next time we are down seeing my sister, take DS1 to see the clock in the Arcade, he'd love it. Do you get drippers? (the cake things.... the only thing I miss about Cheltenham is those, and the shopping of course!!!)
