Oh absolutely same here. Freddie spends his days watching me do the washing, being dragged on the school run, and moving between play mats and the jumperoo. He does love the telly too. Dd is brilliant at singing to him, reading him stories etc so I'm hoping she makes up for my rubbishness a bit!

Sorry to hear you're feeling down though @lydiangel83 Sleep deprivation is so awful and you really haven't had an easy ride so far have you? Be kind to yourself Flowers

Hazandduck · 10/04/2018 09:50

Yep another one whose baby loves telly!

izzibee29 · 10/04/2018 22:57

@lydiangel83 don't feel down. When yours sleeps like an angel ours will be changing to a late night raver.

Freddie isn't perfect- we removed his sleepyhead on Friday and Saturday night and he woke himself up every 3 hrs!

Also cut his first tooth tonight which might explain his increased restless night. And that just from his first tooth!

GingerHanna · 11/04/2018 12:21

And I’m back! DS is doing well... cut his first two teeth yesterday whichever explains sleeping difficulty and started rolling back to front as well as the other way around. Worried about when he can do full rolypoly!

Proper update later...

Nice to hear from you @gingerhanna!

Does anyone else have a really hungry baby at the moment? J is now eating a full bowl of porridge for breakfast, full Ella's kitchen pouch for lunch and dinner and he is still hungry for his bottles! He has just woken up at 4am starving!

butterybollocks · 12/04/2018 09:45

@durezidal Freddie wakes between 2am and 4am and downs a full bottle of milk. He gets really hungry mid morning and started drinking masses of milk so I'm giving him a bit of food then as well as his milk.

@gingerhanna good to hear from you - I was wondering where you'd got to (it always worries me a bit when posters disappear!)

I just tried to get Freddie to nap in his cot instead of the pram. Total fail Confused

Hazandduck · 12/04/2018 21:11

Ah welcome back @Gingerhanna good to hear from you, love the pic :) How is Mum life treating you? X
@durez I started off just giving Tildy a bowl of puréed veg after we’d had our dinner (she sits at the table while we eat and then we feed her) but she was crying after for more so I now give her a ‘pudding’ usually of banana or a rusk etc. Then it’s usually in the bath, pjs and I breastfeed her to sleep, so she has quite a lot to eat/drink just before bedtime. Her appetite is definitely increasing every day!
I feel such a bad mum. When I’m doing tea I usually pop her on her playmat or in her little bouncer chair and stick my head in and out (I can hear her talking to herself any way) well today I came back in and she had gone from her back to her front! I was so amazed and proud! I watched her do it another 4 times every time I rolled her back on her back she flipped over again to her front. So I put her in her bouncer chair like always and just completely forgot to strap her in...two seconds later I heard a godawful cry and she was on the floor next to it 😢 I feel so bad! She was fine and I brought her in the kitchen and put her in her high chair instead but my gosh my heart just broke seeing her cry because of my stupidity! I feel awful x

DuRezidal · 13/04/2018 19:25

Well, I am going to be up all night as one of my broodmares has tested positive on the ph strips and is imminent in birthing. I have every sympathy with her at this moment in time 😜

Hazandduck · 14/04/2018 10:41

How did the night go @durez? Hope you have a nice healthy foal now and mumma is recovering well.

lydiangel83 · 14/04/2018 11:29

@Hazandduck don't beat yourself up we have all done something like that! Well done on the rolling! How did you purée veg? I tried to use nutribullet and was not very finely mashed!

Zampa · 14/04/2018 15:44

Went for my first run with DDs in my new (to me) running buggy. Dd1 loved it, Dd2 fell asleep!

@hazanduck DD1 fell off the sofa at a similar age, onto a wooden floor. I think they're more shocked than injured but oh, the screams ... And then the guilt!

Ah thanks girls, I spent all day yesterday just watching her like a hawk! It’s scary when they start moving!
So happy about the sunshine ☀️ I’ve just been on the loveliest walk. Buggy running sounds challenging @zampa. I really want to go running with the pushchair but feel like I’ll look weird or like I am late for something. I miss my old morning jogs.
@Lydia I use one of those handheld soup blenders, I put quite a bit of milk in to make it smoother. I did cauliflower the other day and you know what I probably could’ve eaten it myself it looked so good. I’m going to try and sub potato with cauliflower for my next cottage pie and see if DH notices...
Enjoy the sunshine everyone, spring is finally here! Xx

lydiangel83 · 14/04/2018 21:12

@Zampa wow I am impressed with the double buggy running! Good effort! @Hazandduck I have one of those will give it a try thanks :) your meals sound yummy!

theotherendofthesockportal · 14/04/2018 21:46

@Hazandduck don't be upset, Bea face planted the floor at one of our baby groups and I was mortified that I looked like the worlds worse mum until another lady put her arm around me and said "don't worry, we have all been there".

I purée Bea's food in a kenwood mixer which is no longer gathering dust in the cupboard, told you I would use it DH

The last few nights Bea has had a small portion of what we have had, just a bit mashed up. She has loved it!

Any tips for encouraging her to roll over?

I hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine

Zampa · 14/04/2018 23:11

I highly recommend the Kenwood Mini Chopper. It's small in size but perfect for whizzing up baby size portions.

The fixed wheel on the jogging buggy will take some getting used to and my arms definitely got a work out as well as my lungs but I felt so good after doing my first bit of exercise in about two years!

butterybollocks · 15/04/2018 16:44

@zampa that's fab, the buggy looks brilliant! I am doing weekly buggy boot camp classes and really enjoying it.

@sock I think they roll when they are ready. Both mine have started with lifting their legs and playing with their feet and have rolled from there.

Has anyone tried the huckleberry app? It's fairly accurate at predicting when Freddie needs to nap

Motherhippy16 · 16/04/2018 15:35

Hi all... have just been catching up with everything. Ds sleep is awful atm...only naps on me after having a feed and is waking about 6 times a night and the only way I can get him back to sleep is to feed him. He's exhausted during the day so if we are doing something he gets grizzly really quickly or has lots of naps at home... He's on his 4th today. Haven't been able to do anything! I feel so guilty when I don't stimulate him enough as well and that I'm constantly getting things wrong. Have contacted hv about sleep and she is getting back to me as I'm at a loss. Every time i try to put him down for a nap he wakes up and is wide awake so I have to start it all over again or he is overtired. I am so worried I'm not going to be able to get him to sleep back in his cot as he used to do. Any suggestions? He's 4 months old now. Lots of love x

lydiangel83 · 17/04/2018 07:13

@Motherhippy16 I feel your pain and it does break you. Would love to know what your HV says but mine is useless. Liliana is 5.5 months old and we have started weaning her, and last days she has slept better. I'm sure it's a coincidence but maybe her belly is fuller and it helps her sleep better!?? Good luck and know you're not alone, we were up every 45 mins during night for a stage so I know it's know fun xx

Zampa · 17/04/2018 08:31

My sleep thief was up every hour from 2am to 8am last night. I let her feed every time and I think that's the issue. I need to be meaner as I'm sure she doesn't need the milk. She can certainly last longer during the day!

Motherhippy16 · 17/04/2018 08:51

Oh gosh! Yes... I'm so sorry u are going though this @lydiangel83 @zampa but it's nice to know I'm not alone at 2am! Every hour last night and tried to comfort without the breast but he just cried. Will let you know what the hv said. She is really good so hopefully will have a plan.
3rd set of jabs this afternoon so I'm kinda hoping for Calpol sleep as that's what he did last time! Think he had an allergic reaction to something on sat so will speak to hv and nurse about that. We are going to start on baby rice in thr hope he has a fuller tummy to help him sleep..... hope you all have a lovely day x x x

lydiangel83 · 17/04/2018 19:20

@Motherhippy16 we started L on baby rice two days ago and have had two better nights (touch wood). I'm hoping it is a trend but who knows! Let us know what HV says and good luck to all for better sleep tonight xx

theotherendofthesockportal · 17/04/2018 20:35

Bea has really taken to weaning, however it does have some downfalls. She no longer wants bottles, she wants food. Plus now her napping routine has got worse. Today she only had 2 30 minute naps. I hope this isn't the way forward!

Motherhippy16 · 18/04/2018 21:11

Hi all. So I got a call from my hv today and I told her all of e's symptoms. She called the dietician straight away and got back to me within half an hour. I am on a 4 week elimination diet from soy to see if his symptoms improve. We are also going to get on a waiting list for a patch test to see if that comes up with anything. Fingers crossed we will get to the bottom of it. He has been so so grizzly today after his jabs and being sick after every feed poor little man. Hope you are all well. Oh and she said not to go onto baby rice until we have sorted this out... which kinda makes sense but I was looking forward to him maybe having longer sleeps!
@theotherendofthesockportal.... I empathise with the sleep (or lack of)
