Thought i would start the offical May 2007 thread as it is May and we have now had our first offical May baby - even though we have 6 naughty babies who queue jumped and arrived in April .

Probably be a while before there are many messages but a least we have a thread now

Mrsjaffabiffa · 17/06/2007 21:52

Have been meaning to ask and keep forgetting.

SOH, where are you? Is your cocyx still bad? I really thought mine would disappear after Jorja arrived but it's still agony.

Sorry to change the subject, as you were ladies.

Mrsjaffabiffa · 17/06/2007 21:53

I have been lurking all day but not had too much to say.

Go Lups, hope you get it

MJB hows it going is the feeding getting better?

scootermum · 17/06/2007 21:58

And a slice if you please.....Bon soir Mrs JB..
I assume it isnt Fathers day in France?Do you even have it over there?

scootermum · 17/06/2007 22:02

Good o Lups!

Yes, how is Jorja? What weight is she now did you say?(am trying to picture her)..Mae is quite big, but because she is so long she looks spindly..she is out of her newborn baby gros already as her feet were poking the ends of the toes, but width wise they were still drowing her so she is a sorry sight!Plus she is still very crusty skinned..have been putting olive oil on her, (like a big chip really), on mw's reccomendation, but to no avail..

Lupins71 · 17/06/2007 22:06

Scoot, bio oil is fab and not quite so greasy spoon lol!!, Arlen is only just fitting into his newborn stuff and he is 2.5 months old lol, he is pretty short was 48cm last week but he is a stocky lad bless him!!, doesnt hekp that we are in reusable nappies (well not me) he just looks like a football, all middle and no length, he has really really chubby cheeks as well

Mrsjaffabiffa · 17/06/2007 22:07

Well done Lups.

A slice would be lovely; hold on I'll get you one off the tree.

feeding is going OK. We are still experimenting, I have no routine yet, can't get my head round it but she is taking breast milk in a bottle or formula with no problems and I'm feeding her morning and night and yesterday and today have done a few comfort feeds for her as she has been a little unsettled. She seems to be latching better but is still never full after. Mix feeding is going well though. Actually it's quite convenient. Can hand her to someone else to feed if I want to, still have an instant way to shushhh her if we are out and about and still have OUR time to feed which is more for me than her if I'm honest.

Here scoot, the lemon

Lupins71 · 17/06/2007 22:07

Am going to have to say that lady who i got pushchair from forgot to send car seat and thats why i have 2 parcels lol

Mrsjaffabiffa · 17/06/2007 22:09

Soot, she had put on this week. 350g in a week, thats about 7oz I think. She is now about 7lb ish I think.

Lupins71 · 17/06/2007 22:10

lups sniffs the gin jealously

MJB how easy it it living abroad, we are off to portugal hopefully by the end of the year, how do i find out about schools, and visas, and medical insurance, seems like a mind bggling amount i feel i should need to know but dont have a clue where to look for it

Lupins71 · 17/06/2007 22:10

Scoot how much does Mae weigh?

scootermum · 17/06/2007 22:11

Lily was a bit chubbier than Mae, like Arlen sounds, though not as small..cant believe how tiny he must have been when he came out!Amazing really!I look at Mae and think nothing could be smaller and she was 8 pounds and 52 cm long, so really quite big..

Have taken my gin to bed..have new sheets on tonight, lovely..
Am making the most of having no one crying for the first time in about a week..sure it wont last much longer though!

Night ladies.x

Mrsjaffabiffa · 17/06/2007 22:12

Actually no, I think she's more than that. I have no idea, they do it in kg here and I don't know what the conversion is. We had to estimate her birthweight in to lb's and oz's a,d I think we may have been a little out. She is 3kg 450g now if anyone has any idea what that is?

Lupins71 · 17/06/2007 22:16

7lb 6 I just asked jeeves lol

Mrsjaffabiffa · 17/06/2007 22:18

Lups, to be honest I'm not sure about Portugal. You shouldn't need a visa, it's a european country so you can work, live etc with no visa's. In France the local Mayor will be very helpful. First port of call for you could be the British Embassy in Portugal they should be able to give you some good advice. You will need some forms from the Inland Revenue. An E112 for your health insurance whilst living abroard if you are employed in the UK, it is a different form if you are self employed. Inland Revenue will be able to tell you what you need to do about that. Hope that starts you off lups.

scootermum · 17/06/2007 22:18

She's 8.3 now Lups BTW..She put on 3 oz in her first 5 days, guzzler..god knows what they put in that formula but it seems to be doing the trick anyway..(Lily lost so much weight in her first few weeks that she nearly had to go back to hospital, due to my rubbishy milk, so its great not to have that to worry about this time )

Glad its going so well Mrs JB..sounds like J doing great and getting the best of both worlds!

...Here's your lemon back, just nice that!

Have just seen the weather for tomorrow, rain, rain, rain, gaah!

Lupins71 · 17/06/2007 22:19
