Morning all - new thread as the old one's about to hit the 1000 posts limit.

Not so great this morning - feel like an egg-bound chicken IYSWIM. Grrr - especially as I managed to avoid it all the way through pregnancy. And not sure if there's anything I can take for it while I'm feeding?

OP posts:

Mossy, never worry it's not that expensive. and I'll pass it around to my sisters/friends.
Your mil is probably really happy that you don't mind sharing Bertie a bit. It's a symbiotic relationship!

Rosylily · 02/05/2007 11:28

Ds2 and I were dancing to funny music and Hasan just laughed at us!

Mossie · 02/05/2007 11:47

Oh Rosy can't believe he's laughing already, that's lovely!

Foxy I have texted you. I saw a baby t-shirt can't remember where, some online company, that said, "I'm living proof my Daddy is a Motherf*er"

Hey guess what? I was a size 14-16 pre-pg but put on a tonne of weight... three weeks after the birth I am now in size 18 jeans! Doesn't sound much but to me it feels like a real milestone - I can get out of those jogging bottoms!!!

Off to mil's to pick up Bertie (or as dh and I call him when he is crying, Gollum )!!

divastrop · 02/05/2007 12:08

mossie-i only have the 'change your life in 7 days' cd.i'm still hoping(hahahaha)that the weight will fall off me like last time without me having to try much.actually,i think it had alot to do with smoking and getting together with a man 6 years my junior

still, said man and i have alot of catching up to do

rosy-bless!!Elsie laughed on monday when dp was talking to her.she hasnt done it since.of course, shes now a confirmed daddy's girl and he is her favourite,so he says

im not bothered, ive got my ds2 still.

fox-link me to those t-shirts!!!
i want to get one for ds2....

evenhope · 02/05/2007 13:37

Had 6 week check this morning (she's 7 weeks). Bit of a dead loss compared to how they used to be done. Had to undress her twice and she wasn't happy. The doctor said "you can dress him now" after he'd examined her.. doesn't inspire confidence when the dr can't tell difference between boys and girls.

She's 9lb 13 0z. They tell me she's doing really well but my others used to put on 1lb a week and she was 8lb 9oz at 4.5 weeks so it doesn't seem like it to me.

foxcub · 02/05/2007 14:18

Fuck off, I can't doooo links!!!!

Rosylily · 02/05/2007 14:25

well I was reading another thread earlier and apparently xenia (who seems to be a very famous and most intelligent mumsnetter) can't do links too.

kiwibella · 02/05/2007 14:32

oh dear, Evenhope . Hope you felt that things were ok after your check.

Have you seen this article ? The second time Kate woke during the night, I propped her up on my arm to reach my boob and left her to it!

Took her in to work this morning and got the ultimate question: when are you coming back? Grrrr. Everyone's first reaction was to remind me how much she looks like her dad. Joy!!

kiwibella · 02/05/2007 14:33

foxy... I just copy the example below! Bet that doesn't help though .

divastrop · 02/05/2007 14:51

foxy-is there an address bar at the top of your screen?right click on it,then select 'copy'.type \link{ then right click and select 'paste',and the info from the address bar will appear where you are typing.after the info,type \ and a descriptio of what you're linking to (eg 'fuck off thread') and then type }

please try it!please

Hello everyone

Haven't posted for yonks as was ready to send Samuel back to the manufacturers... won't bore you with the details of his every waking feed times etc but suffice to say i wasn't doing much else except feeding him and trying to stop him crying...

However, think we've turned slight corner so feel sane enough to post here without moaning too much.

Can't believe he's 8 weeks now... time has truly flown... am delaying his jabs as worried they'll make him more testy and really couldn't handle that at the mo. DH has been working away loads and i feel i'm neglecting my other 2 - guilt's great isn't it?

foxcub · 02/05/2007 15:24

Muppet - nice to see you as Monti and Samuel are the same age. Monti has suddenly changed too (he's got more testy and less laid back) and I am also delaying his jabs - just until I can give him some Calpol in a week or two

Please feel free to moan - we've all been moaning to our little hearts content!

Diva/Rosy - just had some alcohol free beer for some Dutch courage before I attempt a link

Hi everyone

Heres some newer pictures of Deanna taken at the studio.

new.photos.yahoo.com/helenwhite3/album/576460762400193957

We are doing well,Deanna is still sleeping 11-6 at night and feeding well.Had her 8 week check and everythings good.Shes now weighing 9lb 8oz.
Got her first jab next week.
We had a little panic yesterday when I accidently locked her in a boiling hot car.Luckily my dad quickly picked up DH from work and got the spare key from the ILs.I was panicing but Deanna was okay, being she was in the car 10 minutes with no windows open.I couldnt stop making sure she was okay last night.
Hope you are all doing well, will read all messages later

sazzybee · 02/05/2007 15:46

mossie - elliot has a dummy. And believe me, without it, he cries! It's an absolute lifeline. He just sucks madly on it until he falls asleep and then it falls out. And this going-to-sleep-without-screaming is a very recent development - last week I was shush-patting him for an hour or more every time he had a nap. I resorted to taking him out in the car or just round and round in the pushchair as it was the only way he would go to sleep.

Now I would like him to stay asleep - surely he should be sleeping for more than 3 hours at a time at 7 weeks?

evenhope - my hv visit was so useless I really don't want to go back. She couldn't tell the difference between 3.08kg (his birthweight) and 3.8kg (his weight at 5 weeks). She told me he hadn't gained any weight at all!

Aww - rosylily - hasan laughing on his own! How fab! I hope we get that soon. I get a gummy smile which makes my day

Does anyone go to mother and baby groups? Should I? My sister told me 'they are a lifeline' yesterday and I felt she thought I was weird for not going to one. But I've got you lot

I still maintain I couldn't do this with more than one child so you lot are amazing - I just find it really wearing being so needed all the time. I don't know how you cope with it

foxcub · 02/05/2007 15:47

sazzybee · 02/05/2007 15:49

ooh mossie - do you think you can email me those MP3s please? I can now (just) get into my pre-pregnancy jeans but I'm going on a big walking holiday at the end of the month and can't get into my geeky gear

foxcub · 02/05/2007 15:51

foxcub · 02/05/2007 15:57

Sazzy - it gets easier with each baby!!! Monti sucks his dummy until he falls asleep too.

Mother/baby groups are good if you want to meet with other local women with babies the same age. Its probably worth popping along to one to see if you like it or not?

I joined an NCT group when DS1 was a baby, the women were nice but all so posh I felt inadquate (I was the only one who dind't do: skiing hols, banker hubby, private school, cleaners/ironers etc).

Leoladyofleisure · 02/05/2007 16:03

Fox, the dts are doing really well thanks, like Monti they have recently changed from being really laidback sleep and feed bundles to demanding adventure seeking little monsters. However they are easy, easy, easy babies compared to ds1 so I am really enjoying them!

Has anyone seen the fish mobile thing in Ikea. It is great we have it hanging over the changing mat (low enough for them to touch it) and they both get really excited about it everytime I put them there.

Sazzy - I've never been to mother and baby groups, was considering an English speaking one so ds1 gets to play more withe English speaking children but it turns out that most of the people are not English anyway so I'm nto sure I'll bother. I don't feel that I need that many 'friends' and people. I have one very good friend and a couple of others to meet up with less often and thats really enough mum and baby things for me.

spongecake · 02/05/2007 16:09

hi there- GUESS WHAT! ohmygod.. was whizzing round town this am and saw 3 young mums -16/17 standing around in centre of high street (its pedestrianised) and one of their little boys -aged about 5- dropped his trousers and pants and did a wee into the drain, talking loudly to his mum all the time. she ignored him and carried on chatting was really stunned- i live in quite a posh town, ie loads of ladies who lunch, who all looked away with wrinkled up noses..

sazzy, have not tried mums and babies, (see above) but we are moving soon, if we can find anywhere! good luck.. you could try a meet up thread though, on mn

not sure about the sleeping, my boy kind of does his own thing, he is 6 weeks. I just fit in round him, but keep him busy and well fed all day if i can. I don't wake him up if he is asleep though, to feed. I was advised to, tried once to d's horror -waking a baby???! never again!
