Lizz I think the chocci has gone to your brain

ellieandhattie · 27/04/2007 08:38

Morning all, glad codes were good for you Dragonhart I'll stick Ellie on a train to come and play on the clibing frame

We are off out in a mo as Hattie going to my mums for a couple of hours as Ellie has speech therapy assesment (having trouble with s's and f's and as I have a lisp they want to assess whether shes copying me or has a 'problem' and wat course of action to do, as we need to concentrate its easier to leave Hattie at mums. Except the drive men havent arrived yet and shes desperate to see them as they'll be finished today so said we'd wait till 8.40 and then we have to go (need to talk to them as I wont be home till this afternoon to pay them and I am sure they'll want their money!!!!)

Catch you all later x

RGee · 27/04/2007 08:57

Hi all. How was your night?

Lizz - I still feel massively guilty that I introduced formula, but I was in agony and an emotional wreck, so it was completely the best ting. Plus everyone else can feed her too which they enjoy. I think guilt about eveything comes with the territory. Chocolate definitely does help but steer clear of it too late at night with those dreams

EAH - hope you come home to a fabby sparkling new driveway!

Needless to say, we had another mouse experience last night. Thakfully I slept through it but came downstairs this morning to half a dead mouse on the front door mat . Laughalot, just for you, and any others who don't have a nervous disposition, I took a photo and put it up for a short period only. We haven't found the front half of the mouse yet....

Lizzzombie · 27/04/2007 09:31

RGEE - are you sure thats not a RAT?!

Also, can I ask about how bad your boobs were when you went from BF to formula? Did you just do it all at once or slowly introduce it? I am v scared of huge engorgement!

hattie2 · 27/04/2007 11:38

Lizzz - I'm in the process of introducing more ff, not sure at the moment if I'll stop completely bf or try and do morning and evenign bf still when I go back to work. Have also been feeling teary and pmt - like, hadn't thought about it being linked to reducing the bf but it probably is.

This week I have added another ff so routine is now bf 7am, ff 11am and 2pm and bf at 6pm and 10pm - although have had to persuade LO to have a quick feed at 5pm as well to reduce the engorgement on one side at least! But even after only a couple of days it was much more comfortable yesterday than earlier in the week.

BTW - no idea if I am doing this 'right' or not, just adding ff where it's easiest for me!

Lizzzombie · 27/04/2007 11:54

Hattie - glad I'm not the only one who is winging this then!
I BF 6am, 9am, then for 12 noon feed do 10 mins on each to reduce hugeness, and then BF 3pm anf FF 6pm and 11pm. I was crying more than I've cried at all since having him last night.
My period hasnt turned up this month yet, and I thought I was due last weekend, plus I've eaten a ton of chocolate so I am guessing its all adding up to that. Wish it would hurry up and get here though! x

Lizzzombie · 27/04/2007 11:56

Also - advice from FF's please. LO took nearly 7oz of formula last night in his dream feed. At 13.5 weeks, is this normal? He normally can take 5oz of expressed BF milk. 7oz just seems such a lot.

LadyTophamHatt · 27/04/2007 13:27

george has 7 oz every 4-5 hours

LadyTophamHatt · 27/04/2007 13:27

he's 14 weeks

laughalot · 27/04/2007 14:26

Rgee at the mouse picture

Lizz lauren has 6oz every 4 hours I think that he probably gets fuller on the breast maybe its thicker im not sure, I would be very happy with the amount of formula he has taken, dont be to harsh on yourself about the bf you are no less of a good mummy in fact you are a yummy mummy.

Eah how did ellie get on today ?

Wilkie you back yet

Lizzzombie · 27/04/2007 14:30

thanks! x

Lizzzombie · 27/04/2007 14:33

Another weird question now:
Is anyone else finding that their hair is starting to fall out? The whole way through my pregnancy my hair grew really fast and was nice and shiney, now, I think because I have really long hair and none really fulled my hairbrush for the past 12 months, I've started to notice it everywhere. A full hair brush, when I wash my hair etc. Its not like allopecia (yet!) but I wanted to confirm that this is normal...right?
I am normal right?!

LadyTophamHatt · 27/04/2007 14:36

yes, its normal.....and ime it gets worse before it gets better.

I blocked the plug hole twice in one shower once!!

Lizzzombie · 27/04/2007 14:57

Right, thats it. I'm going to have it cut.
I look a bit Jesusie like anyway at the moment!

2Happy · 27/04/2007 15:11

Lizzz - I got a massive PMT-like low every single time ds1 dropped a feed. I've seen threads on MN about this - it's pretty common, and it might explain your tears. Alternatively, it might actually be PMT...

RGee - nice pic!

E&H - hope Ellie's appt went well x

D'you think we proper scared Shopaholic and Feb off (or maybe not everyone feels the need to post on MN every single day )

OP posts:
2Happy · 27/04/2007 15:16

Incidently, I don't want to start an AIBU-parent-and-child-thread since they always seem to kick off on MN, but in the safety of this thread, AIBU to expect people parking in parnet and child spaces to have a child with them, rather than just having an empty child seat and pretending that just because they possess an offspring somewhere they can park in the parents' space?!

OP posts:
Galmum · 27/04/2007 15:19

I'm also mourning the loss of my shiny thick hair!

Katwithkittens - you are famous!! - your thread made it on to the mumsnet round up email! A birthday list at JLewis for a 6 year old - what the f**k? I have never heard anything so bloody ridiculous in my life. It makes me unreasonably angry Do hope they don't work you out though!!

Galmum · 27/04/2007 15:23

What is AIBU?

Parent & child parking was full of cars with no car seats or any evidence of any children this morning - why do I let it annoy me?? - they are the same lazy idiots that park in disabled bays and seem to think that they are busier/more important than the rest of us!

RANT OVER!

2Happy · 27/04/2007 15:28

It means Am I Being Unreasonable.

I don't mind old/disabled people parking there if there are no disabled spaces (because some lazy fat arse has parked in them) or, if they are old/crumbly if there are just no spaces near the door. But I do mind people just taking the piss, who blatantly have no mobility problem taking the spaces. But someone with a 9m-4yo child seat in the back must know how hard it is when you have a that-aged-child to manage in a normal space, so to blatantly park in the special space when the child isn't with you...oooooooooooooooooooooooh

OP posts:
2Happy · 27/04/2007 15:32

....and er how's the house buying going?

OP posts:
LadyTophamHatt · 27/04/2007 15:45

2happy....P&T spaces, just don't fret about it.

I don't, if theres one there I use it if not swear word enters my head aboutthe cheeky feckers who haven't get kids and then I find a non-P&T space.

I know i'm nice enough not to use them when i haven't got the boys with me so thats all that matter (to me anyway)

Lizzzombie · 27/04/2007 15:51

2 Happy - think of it as Karma. The more people that park in spaces which are not meant for them = more bad things which will happen to them. Whereas only good things will happen to you as you suffered through not having a parking space. Go and buy a scratch card!
Galmum - I'm going to make a wig with all my left over hair!

Galmum · 27/04/2007 15:56

No you are not being unreasonable!

The house buying is really stressing me out - maybe that's why there are lots of faces on my posts today. You'll be sorry you asked!

To summarise

  • we are on attempt no 3 to buy a house since Sept (NB second attempt cost us over £1k in fees)
  • we have just found out that the people we rent the house from are selling it and we have just received our 2 month notice letter
  • we have now persuaded lady selling house to proceed without complete chain and move out by the time we need to
  • but she or the agent is probably bullshitting and we will be shafted again and then left homeless with a 6 month old baby
  • to top it all, although I'm prepared to leave this house, I never wanted to be pushed. It is filled with happy memories of my gorgeous little man Digby and sad ones too - he died in this house.

I have been feeling sick with the stress of it all - it really is getting too much.

Sorry folks - do feel a bit better for having got it off my chest.

Galmum · 27/04/2007 16:13

Have I scared you all off!!

Decided to have an alcoholic drink tonight - would really love to be able to put my head in a bucket of champagne but bf and baby duties will not permitt me to be so reckless!!

Lizzzombie · 27/04/2007 16:34

Galmum - I'm in the middle of housebuying too & am terrified of getting shafted like you did. Unlike you though I HATE LIVING IN MY FLAT AND CANT WAIT TO MOVE OUT!

  • The students upstairs play 80's music v.loud above LO's room (he sleeps through but it still annoys me)
  • Next door neighbours grow pot (YES - GROW it!) so the whole corridor and most of our flat stinks of marijuana (sp?) it really really smells like a grow room and I am not sure what to do about it.
  • There is a fly investation and they just wont die, no matter how many of those window fly stickers I put up.
  • The whole block of flats has a linked up extremely loud firealarm which when person X burns their toast sets of the alarms in EVERYONES flat. Industrial strength fire alarm goes off at all hours (again, LO sleeps through, but I dont!)
So - I match you and raise you in your rant. Plus, I had 3 mohitos the other day and still managed to BF. So I reckon you are allowed a couple of large glasses of something! x
