sarahlou - hope you didn't have a problem with the wind.

pink - it'll be worth it in the end

bhm, my ds doesn't really make any faces, but he STILL has no teeth! i really don't know when they'll come through.

i didn't fancy spending the whole day indoors with a 3yr old and baby so we took them out for a walk in their waterproofs to queen's valley (lovely countryside here) and jumped in lots of puddles.

my ds, 14, accompanied his friend to a special church service today, but it lasted 2 hours and was all in portuguese. so it felt like a long time for him. poor thing!

sarahlou1uk · 24/06/2007 21:33

Well, the weather was lovely (not). Ended up cooking everything in the oven and am now absolutely knackered! Service went well though - Molly didn't cry.

BigHotMama · 25/06/2007 12:06

Rattle just read your post as if you were saying Sarahlou has a wind problem he he made me laugh Bet your ds will probably get his teeth all come at once maybe? Has he shown any signs yet?

Argh Sarahlou, shame about the weather but great that Molly didnt cry, bet she looked lovely too.

Just lowered ds' cotbed as he was almost hanging out yesterday he has left teeth marks all around the end on the wooden bits but now he cant reach which is quite amusing to watch

rattleskuttle · 25/06/2007 21:54

bhm, oops

ds has been teething for ages. maybe they will all burst through at once.

he has an ultrasound scan early tomorrow morning as a follow up to his kidney operation. it'll be interesting to see how we'll be able to get him to lie still

Snowboo · 25/06/2007 21:55

I'm on antibiotics for my ear throat thing, thats nearly cleared so the ABs have given me..........THRUSH!!!! I'm so miserable. Yet another trip to the doctor.

Sorry, just had to get it off my chest.

Snowboo · 25/06/2007 21:55

Rattle, hope you get ds to hold still long enough!

rattleskuttle · 25/06/2007 23:03

oh dear. can't you treat it with canestan or live youghurt?

olivo · 26/06/2007 13:16

snow- there is a really good one off tablet thing you can take - difflucan i think. its quite expensive but you can get it over the counter if you cant get a docs appt soon enough.

rattle - hope ds's scan went ok.
BHM - i thought the same as you about sarahlou and her wind - oh and holly is the same with her cotbed - it's going to be bad on my back! she's like a little monkey with anything she can climb, especially our heated towel ladder thing! yuo'd think we put it up as a toy for her !!

back to the docs myself as my throat and voice are still iffy

PinkTulips · 26/06/2007 21:08

OP posts:
olivo · 26/06/2007 21:28

yay! good luck with the move

sarahlou1uk · 26/06/2007 21:43

I haven't got a wind problem!
Well, not at the mo!

We have just had our power restored after 24 hours without it due to flooding. You've probably seen it all on the news about South Yorkshire and Sheffield. We weren't flooded as we live on a hill (I would never buy a house at the bottom of a hill), but the electricity station was and our power went off yesterday at 2pm. Has anyone recently spent an day/evening without tv? It's bloody hard! Especially when ds is asking every 5 minutes if the power is back on to watch tv! Just hope it stays on this time!

PinkTulips · 26/06/2007 21:48

oh don't tell me that sarahlou.... on't have sky hooked up for ages after we move so will be relying on movies downloaded onto dp's Zen!

good thinking with the house on a hill, pity the power plant wasn't as smart

OP posts:
MonkeyandBabyBoo · 27/06/2007 10:51

Hi everyone. Well its been a nightmare here with all the floods. Luckily I wasn't at work Monday when it all happened but took me over an hour to get from picking my kids up last night from my mums to home - usually it takes 15 mins, plus the journey from work to mums, left work at 4.45pm and got home at 7.10pm (usually get home for around 6)- most of the roads leading to my village from mums are still closed and flooded - some other routes are just grid locked with traffic as M1 closed!

Noticed you're in Sheffield too Sarahlou - where abouts?

Good luck with the move Pinktulips.

Emily has just started pulling herself up now and she's into everything now she's crawling really fast. She really enjoyed nursery last week too. Smiled all day apparently even when she woke up from naps - she never does that for me!

BigHotMama · 27/06/2007 13:59

God this weather pisses me off! Started to get into walking with the buggy weeks ago to get fit and now its just rain rain rain!

Jackson is scoffing so much these days. We cant eat in peace as he wants everything off our plate (I do feed him honest!) He has just taken scrambled egg, a mushroom and a bit of toast, now he's eating slices of apple and chunks of pineapple, at least its all healthy though.

Does anybody else have probs when foodtime finishes? Ds starts to sob after pudding so I have to run for the rice cakes, I swear theyare my saviour! He just seems to always wants more? I think he's become a human dustbin

Hope everyone is well and the floods are getting better

What does everyone use for nappy rash as I have found sudocrem too harsh?

olivo · 27/06/2007 19:23

BHM - try bepanthem cream, it's magic! I only use it when dd has a sore bum and it clears up really quick. i think sudocreme stings. lol at human dustbin - my dd is as well! she would eat all day if i let her but as you say, at least it's healthy at this stage!

Nbg · 28/06/2007 09:56

Oh good luck Pinky!
I'm sure everything will go ok for you.
If your about on msn give me a beep and I'll pass on my mobile no. then I text you to see how you are

BHM, Bepanthen cream like Olivo said is good however be aware that it is yellow, so no nappy changes on cream carpets
Also Metanium is good. Comes in white tub and the cream is pink. Its good because it has anti do dah stuff in to numb his bum a bit. So if he's in any pain with the rash, it will calm it.

Nothing much to report here. Ellis sleeping is still going well considering the illness we've had in this house. He's also doing a bit better with eating although we have discovered he's a bit of a junk food addict. Has a bit of a thing for chips and breaded chicken
So today I'm on a mission to make MN's famous chicken and apple balls
DD is poorly again. Her temp keeps spiking to 39 and is all fluey. I've been sleeping in the spare bed with her for the last 2 nights!

PinkTulips · 28/06/2007 10:02

mmmm, chicken and apple balls sounds delish. recipe please?!

caleb has a bit of a junk food fetish too unfortunately, we're normally very good but with all the commotion and not having pots and pans we've had rubbish a few night recently, he does like his sausages and chips and dd told everyone in the chipper 'i love chips, lots and lots of chips' i just hope they realise it was driven by chip deprivation and not that we feed her chips every day or anything!

OP posts:
Nbg · 28/06/2007 10:27

awww poor you.
Horrible isnt it.

sarahlou1uk · 28/06/2007 14:42

Well, finally got power back after 24 hours of utter and utter boredom! Had to go to inlaws for shower. Got off pretty lightly compared to other people in Sheffield who were flooded out. Good job we went ahead with the bar-b-q on sunday otherwise I would be putting in a hefty claim for all the meat that defrosted in my freezers!!!

Monkey - I'm in Sheffield 6, near the Wednesday ground (that was flooded!) Whereabouts are you?

MonkeyandBabyBoo · 28/06/2007 15:33

Sarahlou - I'm on the outskirts, on the boarder of Sheffield, Chesterfield, and Worksop. Our village didn't flood but most of the routes out of here did so has been pretty mad. Not lost power like you though. I work at the University in S10 and YE have been threatening power cuts for the last 2 days. My colleague lives at Outibridge and she had no electricity for 2 days. Appartently there will be some power cuts tonight, I know my colleague will be affected between 6-9pm.

this page lists the postcodes affected so check for your.

Hope your not affected again

MonkeyandBabyBoo · 28/06/2007 15:36

Grammar was bad on the last post - should be hope you're not affected again

BigHotMama · 28/06/2007 17:16

Olivo/NBG can I get the cream from Boots or Asda do you know? Not heardof that before?

All this talk of food is making me drool stop it!

Jackson has had his first romance with a lovely baby girl called Erin at playgroup lol. She is a month younger but they seem to have it off. They crawled towards each other today and banged heads then Jackson sat up leant over and held her head then kissed her, she seemed to enjoy it ha ha! Dh reckons he gets it from his dad

I'm worrying slightly here as havent had my period this month yet and am about 2wks late? Surely I would be able to tell if I was pg? May wait a few wks trhen dpo a test if af doesnt come. Argh!
