and the poor bloke had to deal with me and my stretchmarks in a bikini he is very brave

olivo · 30/05/2007 20:36

hello everyone! hope you are all well and the bubbas are feeling a bit better now. we are nearly back to normal now after the croup and dd was teething as well so now has her first two at the bottom - she wont let me see them though ! she has gone back to nursery today and been moved into the 'mobile' section of the baby room!
I am enjoying half term though i've had quite a lot to do.
NBG - hope you had a good birthday and that your rest has done you some good.
Melsy - hope everything is ok.

Nbg · 31/05/2007 08:23

Just thought I would put a little update in about Melsy.

She wasnt as nervous, well she was nervous but just normal nerves I think she said and the op man commented on how calm she was and how usually most women were loosing it at that point.
Op went well, they did a bit more than planned I think but shes just a bit woozy, very tired and extremly sore.

(Think of going through childbirth with 4 degree tear x2!)

So shes tucked up in bed with lots of family helping her out.

All in all I'm dead proud of her. Shes done something that she was very scared about and come out the other side!
I dont think I could have done it.

So a big Well done melsy

sarahlou1uk · 31/05/2007 17:42

Thanks NBG.

Melsy - hope everything went brill and hope to see you again soon posting here!!!

rattleskuttle · 01/06/2007 10:01

melsy - hope you're feeling well.

well done to austin for walking. they seem to be changing from babies to little boys/girls now. my ds is an adventurer and gets a few bruises every day. it must be a man thing, but he does something that hurts once, then he tries it again! he is miserable now because he still has no teeth! but it looks like there are 4 breaking through this morning. he also fights with his big sister - he goes to take toys from her, she pushes him away and then he growls and bites and pulls her hair! it's amazing how he knows all this stuff. it's not like we bite, etc in this household

is everyone enjoying half term?

olivo · 01/06/2007 13:06

i'm enjoying half term rattleskuttle- because dd is at nursery and I'm free!!!!. much as i love her, i've really appreciated my time out this week - dh took the day off yesterday so we went out for lunch and an afternoon at the movies!i think it did us a lot of good as a couple to have some time for just us.
melsy - well done you for getting through your op - hope you are feeling a bit better.
Rattleskuttle- have to admit to having a bit of a chuckle at your growling, hairpulling ds - does your dd fight back? reminds me of me and my sisters when we were younger.
off to enjoy my last afternoon of peace and quiet! hope everyone is well!

PinkTulips · 01/06/2007 13:09

rattle, ds has learned to fight back with dd too. tis very funny. they roll around on the bed wrestling and giggling

melsy · 02/06/2007 20:21

evening gals

Thank you for all your thoughts, thank you NBG for your lovely words hun, was nice to read. I braved it and its now a date behind me PHEEWWWWWWWW. Im sore as hell, as they found more damage inside than thought. I had to have all the muscles sewn back together inside the nethers as they found them separate , BLUERGHHHHHH. Sort of explains why despite doing loads of Pilate's and physio every day for weeks and weeks I sort of hit a wall were I couldnt move my legs out (during vvv gentle Pilate's or getting out of bath etc), without discomfort and sharp pains and I thought Id be in better condition with all that. My sister now thinks I didnt have SPD at all , as it was odd it got worse after birth and not better but problems caused by this damage ????? Will be interesting to see what the physiotherapist thoughts are, when I go back in a few weeks.

Ive been that tired and out of it this week Ive not even had my pc on , (well may be once, had to join in the bb night conflab on msn !), which my sister says is not like me at all.

Im doing much better than I thought though and my family and the trainee nanny on placement from college have all been helping this week so Ive been able to stay in bed sleep read watch dvds eat chocolate and recover. Who needs a retreat hey lol , just go and have yer bits done!!!

Oh and on top of that Ive found a lump the size of a pea on my breast on one side a couple of weeks back and have to go back to the gp again (as she thought it should dissipate due to period but it hasnt). I started a thread on it in health. Ive managed to get some more possibilities as to what it is from another similar thread , but I have to get it checked further .

anywhooooo , awwww they all seem to be turning into little toddlers , I want my baby back !!! rattle thats so funny with the fighting, its soo funny to see a baby snatch !

booblicious u ok , didnt hear back from u , I was konked mind last night, although still managed to watch mr hunky going into bb house!!

purple hope your trips worked out great , u brave girl and camping , havent done that for years , it was enough just with a friend ,let alone kiddies !

Snowboo , hows walking boy doing ! they look to small to walk lol

pink how the sleeping going ??

Sarahlou hows your course going ? Im still to have reflexology myself. Just hard to find someone you trust is right iykwim.

Bhm how did you manage with the pox in the house? . We got through it with dvds , disney channel , jigsaw puzzles, baths, ice cream , more baths and general lethargy all around !!!

Nbg · 03/06/2007 07:28

Hiya Frodo! Nice to see you back.
Hows things in good ole Barnsley?

Melsy, When you seeing the gp hun? I'll be pottering about today if your on.
Btw I think you should change your name now to

Melsysgotadesignerfanjo

sarahlou1uk · 03/06/2007 09:44

Melsy - glad to hear everything went great for you!
Re the reflexologist - if you go on the association of reflexologists site, you can do a search and find someone in your area. These are all accredited and professionally trained people (and hopefully I will be joining the list in September provided I get some revision done!!!) Don't go through the Yellow Pages - you never know what will turn up!!!

PinkTulips · 03/06/2007 11:01

I'm so glad it all went well for you mels, you got through it like a real trooper. hope everything heals up nice and quick for you babe.

calebs sleepings ok(ish). he sleeps through every second night or so which isn't too bad so can't complain. sarah was going the other direction at this age and stopped sleeping altogether so we're relieved we won't be dealing with that again.

we got the all clear from rent allowance to move house (allelujia!) so we're busy getting that sorted now

bummer about the pc going schitzo on you frodo, ours has done that a few times and it's such a pain. have you brought the hard drive to a pc place and asked them to retireve the photoes and things? nothings fgone from a pc til it's written over with new information so they might be able to get it all back for you.

as for the near divorce, all part and parcel of the first year with a baby i'm afraid hope you guys are ok now though

OP posts:
Snowboo · 05/06/2007 13:22

Mels, well done you! I hope you feel really proud of yourself.

Pink, so glad you can move house now. Hope it all goes smoothly. I hate moving. Still have a garage full of stuff from 18months ago!!!

PinkTulips · 05/06/2007 14:00

agh, don't talk to me about it.

i'm a pack rat ans i'm seriously feeling sick at the thought of the move itself.

OP posts:
rattleskuttle · 06/06/2007 08:04

hi everyone!

pink - when will you be moving? i love moving into a new house but take ages to sort it out - usually about 3 years before everything's in its place, lol.

olivo - it's good to get some free time, isn't it. i always enjoy the dcs so much more after having a bit of baby (noise) free time.

melsy, the nanny trainee sounds like a good idea. has it worked out well?

i will be having a sterilisation op. in a few weeks and i'm so pleased. i think i've had enough babies

ds is growling at dd right now, so i'd better see what's happening.

Nbg · 06/06/2007 09:34

Just wanted to let you know that Melsy called me yesterday afternoon.
Bryce had a fit about 2am tuesday morning.
She was rushed to hospital by ambulance and wired up and given oxygen etc.

They've done some tests, so far they have found out she has very bad tonsilitis and ear infection and urine infection I think.
They're still awaiting more tests.

As far as I know they kept her in last night too as her temp was still going up and down and wouldn't settle.

Soooo lots of positive vibes to little Brycey.
I'll update when I hear from her.

olivo · 06/06/2007 12:53

OMG, poor little bryce - hope she is feeling better and positive vibes your way melsy.
i'm off work AGAIN with dd - cant believe i've been back for less than 8 weeks and have already been off three times. i knew when she started nursery that she'd get ill but its been ridiculous. my work have been very patient so far though i have to say.
oh, while i'm here, i want to buy a first trampoline for dd - does anyone have any recommendations?

Nbg · 06/06/2007 15:18

Just to update.
I got a text of melsy this morning, they were going to be discharged but as they were doing so, her temp spiked again and she became rather floppy so they are still keeping her in.
There also growing some blood cultures so hopefully they will get back results soon.

PinkTulips · 06/06/2007 15:28

o shit mels i hope she's ok.... my thoughts are with you guys {{{hugs}}}}

OP posts:
melsy · 06/06/2007 20:01

hi girls

just a quickie for now , Im blasted !

Were finally home,it seemed to take hours for her temp to finally come down to normal, despite her being lethargic and sleepy they thought it best to bring her home and keep dosing her alternatively with
calpol and nurofen and start penicillin. I feel weve lived in a very strange bubble for 2 days.

My little brave one suffered fibril convulsion brought on by a rapid increase in temperature. Normally caused by infection they still are not sure what it is, but have said most probably tonsillitis and ear infection. Its been a strange and very frightening experience ; with the convulsion , emergency room antics with repeated unsuccessful canuler insertion and then being back in a ward only 1 floor up in the same block were I had dd1 (the place that caused my ptsd). She was very brave , but its made her seem really vulnerable and teeny.

We have to dose her regularly , during the night also and hope she doesnt spike. Ive been told she could fit again , but that it is less common.

Its been the weirdest most challenging 2 weeks ever !

Hope to speak soon , may surf mn to cheer me up ,but Im vibrating and might conk any minute lol.

melsy x

BigHotMama · 06/06/2007 20:50

Big hugs to you melsy hope your dd gets better poor baby and its amazing how brave little babas are isnt it? Glad to hear your op went ok too, seems to be one thing after another , no wonder your knackered.

Nice to see you back Frodo, lol at your ds having 9 teeth , my ds has his 6th coming through now.

Well Jackson was christened on Sunday just gone and we had a lovely day. He was golden and didnt even cry at the font, in fact he seemed to enjoy it and then tried to pull an old man's false teeth out in church. He wore a cute little brown pin stripe linen 3 piece suit with cream linen shirt, will post pic when get time.

He has started to growl today, very funny sounds like the exorcist.

Nearly had a scare at my moms house yesterday, the dog growled at ds as he'd crawled onto his bed, all of a sudden Jackson was screaming and had blood on his face, I first thought the dog had scratched or bitten him but turns out ds bit his own tongue probably shook him up hearing the dog growl as he's normally sound around him. What a lucky escape!

Looks like we're heading for a scorcher of a week...thank god the rain's gone!

Arabica · 06/06/2007 23:14

Poor Melsy, hope your LO is better soonwhat a horrible, scary experience. I don't know why they can never get canulas init just makes everything worse.
Loved the growling and the false teeth BHM. Well my news isn't earth-shattering but represents a huge development for us. Esja was sitting on the floor at the drop-in I took her to today, when a toy a few feet away took her interest--and she bum-shuffled towards it. It was only a tiny movement and she flopped down almost immediately, but I was so proud!

PinkTulips · 07/06/2007 12:43

that's fantastic arabica, you must be so proud of her

{{{{hugs}}}} mels, glad to hear ye're all home. i'll be thinking of poor bryce and i hope she gets better soon. hope you enjoyed a decent nights sleep

Hi, I'm new to MN and have a August 2006 baby so was wondering if I could join this post-natal club to make some MN friends?
