lol mels, not killed!

well after all my complaining, and him waking up 2 more times between when i posted and went to bed.... he slept til 7.40 this morning wtf?!

snow.... i'm surprised you didn't lock him out again, lol. glad your in good spirits though

mels, can you not just glue them back on? i'm a big fan of glue, i need to be between the toddler and the cat!

OP posts:
melsy · 20/05/2007 10:36

yerr dont know what glue though !

Im so fed up today , I just want bed boo hoo boo hoo , woe is me for a change. I must be getting on everyones nerves in here!!!

Nbg · 20/05/2007 14:18

Oh yeah, a bit of superglue mels. Should do the trick.

Have msn'd you but no reply.

Had a nice sleep. Got woke up at 12 to a roast pork dinner
But now dh has gone to work and he's not back till tomorrow afternoon.

Snowboo · 21/05/2007 21:08

Monday evening and not a single post all day so far!!!!
Whats wrong with you ladies?

Can we have a new thread yet? I can't keep up....

Well yesterday dragged dh out of bed without any whining! We met my bf and her dh and lo for lunch in pub, i had one glass of wine, got a bit tipsy then had to come home . Dh ordered a curry (yum), we sat in front of the telly and i fell asleep. Lovely day indeed! And dh getting home at 3:45 was early, other dh's got home between 7am and 9am!!! So i'm the smug one with a hubby that knows not to push his luck.
(Pinky obviously knows me too well ) Not that i'd EVER dream of locking him out to sleep in his cramped car/pour bucket of water over him/make him sleep on the sofa....Oh no, not i!

Mels, hope you're feeling better hun x

Nbg, i'm jealous of the sleeping and the roast dinner yum! Hmm maybe i'd better get pg so i can rest!

yummymummy06 · 21/05/2007 21:30

Hi ladies. Im back!

I brought a travel cot at the weekend which I have put up in the playroom. Georgina doesn't seen to mind it at the moment! She still isn't steady enough to climb up and hold onto the edge.

She is now starting to scream in her car seat and I think she is getting bored facing rearwards (well I think I would too!), has anyone moved to forward facing yet?

PinkTulips · 21/05/2007 22:07

i had to move caleb to one at 5 months as he was waaaay too big for his rear facing one he's a wee, heffalump!

OP posts:
BigHotMama · 21/05/2007 22:23

We're thinking of changing to a forward facing carseat as Jackson keeps leaning his head round to see where I am and looks a bit big in his seat now. We have a got a toy set up on the back seat which has a mirror and a water part with fish that he can make move if he kicks with his legs so that keeps his amused at the moment.

Jackson has caught chicken pox! Only chance of him catching it was at playgroup as we havnet been in contact with any other children really? So up to the doctors tomorrow and housebound for 10 days I think. I'll probably catch it too as never had it when I was younger. Grrreat! Cant stop scratching myself.

On the good side though Jackson has learnt how to clap and wave bless, he's not even bothered about the spots just hope he doesnt get too ill over the next week and is better for his christening a week on Sunday.

Any good ideas on what to do with being housebound with the pox? Melsy? NBG? Havnt you just got rid of it in your household?

Hope everyone is well

eenybeeny · 22/05/2007 13:48

Hi everyone how are you??

We moved Alex to a forward facing seat ages ago as like Caleb he was too big for the rear facing seat.

NBG how is the baby making process going for you? Been thinking about you. Dreamy how is your daughter?

My Mom was here from America for 2 weeks that was surprisingly nice. I am busy working loads. Alex has been exposed to hand, foot and mouth disease and I am really worried he is going to get it. But on the plus side, he is going to be in our local paper!!! How cool is that?!?!

Arabica · 22/05/2007 14:13

Hi eeny! I'm back. Hi everyone else too. Glad to hear scan was goodm, NBG!
Not been posting for last 3 days as Esja has had virus thing, symptoms of which include being very clingy and sleepy, plus a slight temperature--and now she's covered in spots all over her arms and legs (but not face or tummy). Taking her to GP this afternoon, always think it's worth getting spots checked out.

BigHotMama · 22/05/2007 15:50

Could it be chicken pox Arabica? Just been to docs myself and he's diagnosed Jackson with it but he honly has it very mild luckily at the moment.

olivo · 22/05/2007 19:32

another sick babe here . holly has bad croup and is a very unhappy little mite. i had to collect her from nursery and take her to the docs as she was struggling to breathe. we have had trouble getting her medication into her and i just hate seeing her so unhappy

hi eeny, good to see you again!

rattle - i would have loved to meet up with you this week but i work every schoolday - saying that, it looks like i wont be at work if dd is still poorly.

dd has been in her frontfacing car seat for about 3 weeks - she loves it. we were a bit naughty as she isnt 9 months or 20lbs but she had started to scream when we bundled her into the old one!
hope those babes get better soon.

PinkTulips · 22/05/2007 21:01

olivo, sorry about the croup. have you tried having her in a steamy room? it's supposed to help.

caleb has hideous sunburn on his face, blistered and raw and is on steroids. feel like shit for letting it happen, forgot to put the suncream in the swimming bag and he got burned on the way home

OP posts:
Snowboo · 22/05/2007 21:09

Aw pink! Don't worry, it gets us all at some point. A friend kept her lo in the shade all day and he still got burnt! He was facing the white sheets which reflected the sun and got him....

EENY!! Good to see you are back, wondered where you'd got to...

Sorry to all babes who are sick.. This time of year seems a real pain, neverending viruses etc.

Austin was another early mover to forward car seat. Also a big lad. Well i say that but had him weighed and he's lost sooo much weight! Weighs less now than 8 weeks ago. Poor baby is very tall but begining to look a bit on the skinny side.....

Got to go, something about Tesco and Sainsburys on, looks a bit iffy!

PinkTulips · 22/05/2007 21:12

my mom made a valid point that it seems an awfully intense reaction and it's possible he's had a reaction to the sun or something. have been googling light sensitivity and it could explain his weird rash... maybe

will have to ask paeds when we're there with sarah.

snow... poor austin losing so much weight. it could be partly his age though as well as his tummy bug, caleb has definitely lost weight recently too since he's started eating solids.

OP posts:
Snowboo · 22/05/2007 22:34

Pink, thinking about it ds1 has a really bad sun allergy which comes up even if he's in the shade. His whole body gets covered and his eyes go bright red and puffy (similar to conjunctivitis). No matter what sun cream we use he gets it. Can scan a pic in of his rash if you want....

Arabica · 23/05/2007 00:33

Esja's rash is a virus--possibly German measles. She's got a sore throat and a sore ear too so she is very miserable.
Agree that the sun reaction sounds a bit intense...

PinkTulips · 23/05/2007 09:31

oh no, poor esja! is she suffering badly with it? what horrible luck arabica, this is the last thing you need isn't it?!

Snow, if i could see that photo that would be brilliant. i've been at a loss to explain this rash but now that i think about it it was worse the last hot patch we had, and it only came up first when the weather started getting brighter in spring. would explain alot if it were as simple as sunlight affecting him (at least no more silly special diets for him then hopefully!)
he does get conjunctivitis alot recently and the eye on the side thats burned is weeping horrifically

OP posts:
Nbg · 23/05/2007 10:01

Oh all these poor babies

I hope they perk up soon.
Ellis is full of cold atm but not as bad as croup, german measles and sunburn!

Well I wont be around for a few days. I started to feel really cack on monday and I have been ordered to bed rest, so dh has taken leave from work, packed me off to my parents and he is at home looking after the kids!

Its lovely really as I'm getting some proper rest and lots of peace but I do miss them. Also we were supposed to be seeing booby tomorrow at centre parcs and she was stopping with us on friday and now I wont see them but hey ho.

rattleskuttle · 23/05/2007 13:38

good vibes to all the sick babies

have a good rest nbg.

my lo's are well at the moment. it seems they are sick more often than not. i am wondering if its because we moved to a house in a marshy area about 9 months ago. maybe germs etc hang around for longer in low altitude, marshy places? i may be talking a lot of rubbish 'though!

i went to a toddler group for the second time this morning. it is a very friendly group; the woman running it introduces people to eachother. but i still find it hard to go as i am naturally quite a hermit, lol.

ds had his 9 month check-up a few days ago and has dropped down the charts for weight but is long - 76cm. we moved him to a forward facing car seat ages ago because he is tall.
the hv said i was "tired" and asked to visit me, so she is coming out this afternoon. i have no idea what she can do but i'll let you all know if she has any good ideas

PinkTulips · 23/05/2007 13:49

rattle, you need this thread

pmsl at the HV coming to help you coz your tired, unless she's planning on taking ds while you sleep for a few hours i don't imagine that will help massively!

nbg {{{hugs}}} coz your not feeling well. take it easy and enjoy the bit of a rest at your parents babe.

OP posts:
Snowboo · 23/05/2007 20:05

pink, will scan it in soon. Just need to find where ds1 has put it! Hes been 'helping' me today . Dry washing back in the wet washing basket/taking metal tubes for gazebo as dangerous for me/hiding things!!!! Oh bless him.

Nbg, sorry ot hear you feel so rotten, big hugs your way x

Snowboo · 23/05/2007 21:10

WILL YOU LOT STOP HAVING LIVES!!!!
NOW! What do you all do?? Where do ya hide?
I'll find you..........

rattleskuttle · 23/05/2007 22:02

hello

my hv's plan to solve my tiredness was . . .

controlled crying!

i'm not tough enough so i don't think i'll give it a go.

PinkTulips · 24/05/2007 10:10

very helpful

don't do it unless you have no other choice rattle, and certainly not at this age. far too young imo.

well caleb still looks horrific although he seems slightly improved.

our car is on it's way in to have its NCT so fingers crossed it passes, although i doubt it from the odd noise it's been making!

OP posts:
Snowboo · 24/05/2007 13:23

Fingers x'd for you Pink. Have attached pics of ds1 sun allery. See if its similar...
