Pink - go for it! A holiday is just what you need. Don't worry about what others will say. Look at the money as a bonus and it's yours to do with as you will. I have an insurance policy maturing next month but it is already earmarked to pay off my credit card bill!

Snowboo · 14/05/2007 22:17

Deffo take the hol Pink, you deserve a treat!!!!

Hoppy, big hugs for you dh. Lovely idea with the photo album.

Nbg, meant to say i had no life either, NOT i'm Nbg!!! {grin]

Bloody computers.

PinkTulips · 14/05/2007 22:44

lol, thanks girls. would be lovely to have a nice treat to look forward to. thought we might go in sept, loads of time to get ourselves in order (especially if we're moving house) and it should be nice and quiet without too many school age kids. still have such a guilty feeling though, feel like we should put it towards something more constructive!

Pinky, can i be honest? IME and IMO i would use the cash to pay off something. I know a holiday would be lovely, god knows i really want one but the fact is that when you come back, all that debt will still be there and it will come to a point where you'll say, you know i wished we used the money towards this loan etc.
When you pay something off thats it, its gone and you can breath a little lighter.

Voice of doom, moi? Never

lol snow. bad day?

hoppy, i'm glad to hear your all doing well. such a sad time but lovely that your dd started crawling. brings a bit of happiness doesnt it. all your mils stuff will be just what she needs to encourage her to get going!

I dont actually know what i'm doing here. i have an awful migrane and the screens hurting me more. Am waiting for MIL and FIL to come up as I cant see to the kids today. I think I'm gonna have to cancel my scan too, the thoughts of those hospital lights and sitting waiting. Bleurghhhhh.

PinkTulips · 15/05/2007 09:20

that's the thing though, there is no debt. we have a car loan but that's not behind we pay that easily every month. we've caught up on the rent this month and are actually in a position to move now to somewhere cheaper so will be even better off when we do.

we've been starving ourselves for months to get to this point and i'm thinking of booking for september which gives us plenty of time to put a few euros aside for spending money (can just about afford to book an all inclusive holiday so won't neeed much to spend there, just a bit for souveniers and tat really)

car tax is good for ages, bills are sorted, noone gives us credit so thankfully no debt so just the rent that needs paying and now that we're not having to put loads towards bills we should be good there.

hello everyone
nbg - are you drinking plenty of water?(sorry, i sound like a granny telling you what to do, lol)
hello tomatosauce. my ds was born on the 24/8, snap lunavix!
pink - if i had a windfall i think i'd use some of it to pay off some of my debts and some for a treat. but just do whatever you want! if a holiday suits you best, go for it
well, it's pouring with rain here. my two lo's are still a bit off colour, but nothing serious. i still have a little bit left to do on my ou assignment (thanks again everyone for your response to the questionnaire) and then i can email it away to my tutor, 2 weeks late. he likes me because all the others are keen and get things done on time, then hassle him for their results. he knows he can rely on me to be late

lunavix · 15/05/2007 11:21

PT - if you have no debt then go for it Where you going to go? We're doing Minehead Butlins in September, it's rather tacky for my tastes but ds will love it... dd may too, she'll definately be walking by then which seems so odd to say as ds didn't walk until 17m, but she's already pulling herslef up to stand, and cruising, as of yesterday

PinkTulips · 15/05/2007 13:20

wow, well done kiera! i forgot to say earlier on luna, the nursing sounds like a fabulous idea, go for it! sounds like something you'd really enjoy doing so you might as well get qualified sooner rather than later

Butlins sounds like fun, we don't have holiday camps like that over here really. think we might go somewhere hot. depends what cheap deals i could get of course. have just talked to my dad and he's all for it.

well after four and a half months of rolling lolling and pushing herself backwards in three days
cj has learnt to crawl forwards

learnt to pull herslef up on any thing stable

is now cruising the furniture

and is also walking on her hands and feet

going to centre parcs next week so will be awol from monday im really looking forward to it but may be embarrassing as i only have two tankinis and lots of bikinis so bring on the stretchmarks but hey ho

work today and have the pleasure of telling my boss i cant work the extrs day i thought i would so she's gonna screw at me but never mind

hopefully she wont use it as an excuse to be horrid all week

dressedupnowheretogo · 16/05/2007 12:24

i killed it

Snowboo · 16/05/2007 13:15

Not quite booby! I'm still lurking about....

Well my friend came over last night and i now realise just how much i've missed having him about. My other friend doesn't understand how i can have male friends, after all i'm married! Hmm yeah ok. So i'm not listening to her, dh is cool with it, i'm cool with it, i know i don't want to sleep with him and vise versa. Why do i spend so long listening to friends instead of myself??!

Sorry. Had to get that off my chest....

olivo · 16/05/2007 14:54

i want to go on holiday!!
snow - i'm just reading a mike gayle book about a guy whose best friend is female and the problems other people had with it! who cares, if you and dh and he are happy with it?
booby - congrats on all of those achievements of cj . holly crawled forwards out of the kitchen after me this morning - thats the most we've seen her go forwards, so i think this is it! stairgates going up this weekend!
luna - forgot to say befoer, cool decision about nursing, i hope you love it. oh, and thirty isnt so bad - i'm 33!

can any of you tell me, is it normal to be getting more tired as she gets older? i thought i'd get more energy as she started to sleep through etc but i'm more and more worn out. i know coming back to work hasnt helped but i'm finding it hard to cope. i already go to bed at nine

Arabica · 17/05/2007 00:41

Hello long lost ladies! Haven't posted on here for many many months. Just couldn't find time for computer. And couldn't handle empathy, either (in case you're reading this and don't know me, my DD was diagnosed with too much fluid on her brain during my pregnancy, and had feeding problems when she was born). Esja is doing very well now, developmentally she is quite a long way behind her peers (only just learned to roll, still pretty floppy) and we don't yet have a diagnosis, but she is healthy, eating well, and very smiley and cuddly.
So, how are you all, and what's this about a bump?

PinkTulips · 17/05/2007 08:47

nbg's gone and gotten herself knocked up again

fantastic to see you back arabica, i'm so glad esja is doing well. i think i understand what you mean about not wanting empathy but i hope you do know you've been in all our thoughts while you've been gone.

Nbg · 17/05/2007 10:37

Awwwwwww how lovely to see you back Arabica!
Have often thought of you and Esja. Glad to hear your doing well.

As pinky so beautifully put it, I am pregnant About 12 weeks. Scan tomorrow.

Was bleeding yesterday, it stopped last night but am spotting a bit today. Dont feel quite right but hey ho.

But for the good news......

Ellis slept right through!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

From 7pm to 7:30am!!!!!
And this morning he is in the best mood ever.

PinkTulips · 17/05/2007 12:08

you ok nbg? worrying for you but at least you'll find out tomorrow. i'm sure everythings fine, loads of women have bleeding and have perfectly healthy pregnancies.

WELL DONE ELLIS!!! come teach caleb please? he sleeps well about once every week or 2 just to taunt us and is a nightmare the rest of the time!

OP posts:
BigHotMama · 17/05/2007 14:03

Hi Arabica, its lovely to hear from you again. Glad to hear you and Esja are both ok, we have missed your posts and hope your back as a regular?

Fantastic news on Ellis sleeping though and good luck for the scan tomorrow NBG.

Olivo, I have days where I have no energy whatsoever and lately my little man has got this reserved energy from somewhere, not sure where they get it from?

Well done to all the babas crawling and cruising.

PT go for the holiday chick you deserve it!

Have nice time in CParcs Booby.

Luna, great to hear your thinking of going into nursing, must be a rewarding career.

Snowboo, I think your right to have whoever as your friend so long as you know you have no feeling towards them and your dh is ok? Go girl!

Jackson is climbing up my leg as I'm typing this lol and he's such a cheeky chappy blowing rasberries at me.
He weighed in at 20lb12oz last week. And the little monkey woke us up at 5.30am this morning full of beans standing up in his cot, so dh brought him into our room and he just kept slapping us round the head wanting to play so I'm zonked today with major baggage under my eyes.

Hope everybody is well x

Snowboo · 17/05/2007 20:44

Hi Arabica! Its good to see you back. So pleased Esja is doing well.

Olivo, you sound like me. No matter how much i try and sleep i'm always knackered! And Austin just won't sit still even for a second so no hope of rest during the day. I think they need to research where this energy comes from and bottle it up for us mummies

Nbg good luck with the scan tomorrow and take it easy. As has been said (sorry, by the time i got here i forgot!) bleeding is common and don''t worry. I've had bleeding with all mine.

Wow BHM, Jacksons doing really well! Poor Austin has lost loads of weight and hasn't gained anything really in 7 weeks

Has anyone heard from Eeny and Sal recently? Are they all ok? She's not posted for a long while....

Austin ate mashed potato for the first time today! Normally spits it out but poor love is so hungry from the gastroenteritis he's been eating everythign. Still not allowed dairy til Sunday so hes on squash which i'm not too impressed with but hey ho. And he brushed his teeth tonight! (well, mummy did)

PinkTulips · 17/05/2007 21:35

Snow, don't worry about the weight. Caleb and Austin seem quite similar in build and Caleb also stoped gaining a couple of months back. He's been declared fit and healthy by docs and is lovely and chubby still!

He's really getting into his grub now too, this boy's gonna be expensive to feed . today he had;

cornflakes
2 bananas
2 gf crackers with hummous
2 1/2 rice cakes (adult size ones)
half a tub of olives
a whole head of brocolli
and about 8 cherries

and i think he was still hungry but he takes so long to eat we don't have time in the day to wait for him!

glad i'm not the only one who's shattered olivo and BHM, got told at toddler group the other day i looked tired by a mom with 2 the same ages as mine so i must be doing something wrong!

OP posts:
Snowboo · 17/05/2007 21:51

Well all i can say is OMG Pink! Piglet alert lol! So what sort of olives does he have?? Never even thought of those. Are they not too salty? I'm so nervous of giving him too much salt that i think i'm not giving the poor baby enough!

PinkTulips · 17/05/2007 21:58

i don't add any salt and give salt free where possible so the odd thing down't bother me too much, he eats mostly fruit and veg at the minute anyway so he should be fine [hopeful]

i got some green olives in aldi and he loves them, dd is fsacinated by them too but doesn't actually eat them (cheeky monkey!)

how's austim today, did he get the d&v very badly? poor lamb

OP posts:
Arabica · 18/05/2007 00:06

Hi everyone. Esja likes mashed up avocadosshe can eat a whole one! I mix it with rice porridge and milk. She can't do finger foods yet but she can pick up a big rice cake and some of it even finds its way to her mouth DS used to love olives at a very young age, and when he was about 15 months I took him on a picnic and when my back was turned, he ate a spicy onion bhajiand didn't mind a bit. He wouldn't eat it now though.

Arabica · 18/05/2007 00:08

Congratulations NBG! That was quick. I couldn't contemplate ever being pg again, although still look pregnant, unfortunately!

PinkTulips · 18/05/2007 00:10

arabica, caleb loves curry and rice

and chorizo

i do feed him healthily, honest!

OP posts:
Nbg · 18/05/2007 08:41

How do you give Caleb the olives? Do you cut them up or what? Its the same with grapes. Would like to give Ellis them but darent.

I remember dd eating them at this age. She wont have them now mind.
