hello tomatosauce -we are most defintiely mad (ok, the others are, i'm not ), and welcome . i have a dd, born on 28th august.
watching the eurovision, totally wierd so far, as usual!
spent loads of time outdoors with dd today and have found a nice park with baby swings, which she loves! had a bit of a picnic at the zoo too with my SIL and her ds; the sun came out and it was lovely. dh was left at home all day, he's still got manflu, its getting v tedious now . that might sound unsympathetic but he's just got whta me and dd are getting over, and i certainly had no sympathy thrown my way!!

lunavix · 13/05/2007 11:33

hi everyone

So I've made a big decision... to go to university. I want to do nursing, and it's hit me that if I leave it much longer I'll be over 30 before I'm even remotely qualified. (The thought of being 30 terrifies me... apologies to those of you already there )

Incidentally I'm already racked with guilt at the thought of leaving my precious dc's and having to give up my wonderful mindees.

Argh.
I hate being a grown up!

Hi tomatosauce, my dd was born aug 24th. She's a right madam too, she crawls at the speed of light and screeches like a banshee!
olivo - dd loves swings. Managed to buy her a baby one at a boot sale for 50p It's fab.... (looks outside at the rain and wonders why she bothered!)

Snowboo · 13/05/2007 11:37

Good on you luna! Wish i could find a career to go and do.....

And honestly, being 30 (so far) has been ok. Nothings fallen off yet. And you can still get into most positions Lol!

As for the weather.... i'm soo bored. Working for dh at the mo so he is looking after the boys hehehe! (am at home, in the same room but he can't really see what i'm doing. keep moaning that i can't read his employees writing, how am i supposed to work!)

melsy · 13/05/2007 12:00

Nbg · 13/05/2007 14:05

Thanks for all discussing me behind my back lol.

I didnt feel well yesterday afternoon. Came over all lightheaded and weirdy when I was doing lunch so I quickly ate and went to lie down for a couple of hours and by the time I got up it was time to cook kids teas and do bedtime. So noooooo cleaning.
Funny how dh didnt feel like he could manage it while I was laying down

Luna, great news about going to Uni. That must have been a tough decision to make. I'm sure you'll do really well though. What happened to tatty bumpkins?

Melsy, msn me when you've been partying lol. It has been a while since we chatted. Its all that shopping you've been doing!

hoppybird · 14/05/2007 18:04

Hello everyone!

Well, it's been a very busy week in Hoppyland for, as my dh, along with my SIL, have been clearing my MIL's flat. Her flat was absolutely full to bursting with stuff, and needless to say, my flat is now growing smaller and smaller with all the stuff being brought here. Apart from personal things like photos, of which there are several boxes, we have gained blankets, piles of shrink-wrapped bed-linen and curtains, countless electrical gadgets, heaven knows what else. Had we a cat, there would now be no room at all to swing it.

Ironically, dd just today, got into the crawling position for the first time EVER, obvriously thinking that yes, now there's no space to do it, I think it's high time I had a go at crawling.

My MIL's Funeral will be next week - there'll be a wake afterwards and we've been sorting through all the photos to get a nice 'MIL's Life' album together to pass around - my dh saw this done at another wake, and thought it was a great idea. dh has been coping very well with everything - I think he's just been too busy with all the practical things - he has said himself he's glad he has so much to do to keep his mind of it.

luna - well done on choosing nursing - hope it goes well for you, and hey, being 30 is great! I myself like it so much, I'll be celebrating my 30th birthday for the 11th time later this year!

Tomatosauce - welcome!

booby - I like the sound of the three-storey house, we would have loved one ourselves, but round here, the prices are astronomical, we're happy to be moving into a 3-bed semi, which will seem luxurious after having lived in a shoebox for 6 years. The fact that we'll have a garden connected to the house will be brilliant - I've never been able to hang out washing here, and often feel very wistful on those sunny, blowy days!

PinkTulips · 14/05/2007 21:43

ok girls, opinions on something. i would start a thread but i'm afrid i'll get yelled at!

my grandfather put a little money in a tracker bond for me years ago and it's just matured. it's not a huge amount, so little in fact that my father won't reinvest it as he says the fees would make that pointless and it's not enough to do anything majorly life changing with. it is however enough for a holiday.

considering how broke we've been for so long (although clanbouring out of that hole now thank god) would it be morally wrong to go for a holiday? dp and i have never had one together (he's never had one full stop) and we could both very much do with the boost and a break.

nbg, hope your feeling a little better babe, never mind the cleaning, a woman in your condition shouldn't be exerting herself

hoppy, i'm glad to hear everything is going smoothly. i can't imagine how hard this is for you and your dh. i love the life in photoes idea, it sounds wonderful. and well done hoppybaby on learning to crawel (almost!) caleb has decided walking on hands and feet suits him better

btw nbg... me and having a life are polar opposites so no fear there!
