Hey blonde my DD is 19.5 weeks, I started weaning at 17 weeks and she's loving it , mainly blended veg and a bit of organix baby rice & porridge .
This is what baffles me so much because when she wakes she is starving and drains a bottle but she is having the same amount of milk and also food in the day so why is she randomly waking hungry now ?!
I don't think LO has had reflux as she doesn't seem to be in pain and doesn't bring up lots but she does bring up feeds if not laying down while feeding which is why I was keen to feed her . Plus I fed my other DD at 17 weeks and she was happy .
How do we deal with this sleeping issue ? My DD had a feed at 2.30 am and then I couldn't get her to stay asleep after that until 8am which I was meant to be doing the school run by then but luckily DP came and took her !
Hugh our little one also puts teddy or blankets on her face (ones with holes in ) and pulls her dummy out ?!

All babies are diffeent and yes you know your own baby

Babies years ago coped fine with being weaned at 16w

Dd really watches me /anyone eat and drools and tries to grab whatvwe have If on our laps

Def think she is ready. She's 17w today - want to get past 4mths and then will try veg and baby porridge. Sure she will love

So far we havnt had the sleep regression........

I wish she would sleep more the hr x3 a day but sleeps all night (with df) and 99% have to wake her 730am so guess shouldn't complain

And we went into own room and cot few weeks ago

Have a massive Moses basket but dd likes to sleep arms above head and daddy is 6ft4 and think dd is going to be tall like daddy so gee out of ours earlier then I liked :(

But kept bashing basket then herself :(

When in own cot she slept much happier

Have angel and camera and gro egg to keep eye on her - temp - breathing etc

MotherofA · 25/07/2017 11:21

Well I ordered a cot from a lovely swiss brand but didn't realise they take 4-6 weeks to arrive haha. Luckily we have quite a big crib Smile

Carolann8584 · 25/07/2017 11:31

Cot ordered today Grin takes 3 weeks to come so gives me a deadline to finish her room Smile

purpleviolet1 · 25/07/2017 11:34

Our cot got made up last week... moving DS into it tomorrow....he is so squashed in the basket now, can't stretch properly so hoping he will like it Grin

The pulling dummy out and popping it back in is driving me insane! Drops it then moans, as soon as you give it him again he plays with it!

I don't know what this dummy thing is all about with our babes as my eldest just had a dummy and sucked it haha 😂

100yearsdotcom · 25/07/2017 17:09

Oh the dummy thing drives me bonkers! She'll pull it out then look at it in her own hand and wail dolefully that it's not in her mouth! Hmm

We had her cot sorted before she was born - reason being I am disabled and her nursery is on the same floor as our lounge (weird upside down house) and I knew I wouldn't be able to get up and down to her crib for her daytime naps so she has those in her cot instead. I'm hoping it'll mean she'll be happy with it once she moves out of our room and her crib in a few months time.

Hugh
Could you and your DH swap sides? Radical I know Grin But that's what DH and I did, because there's more room for the Snuzpod on DH's side, and we switched so I'd be next to it.
I quite like having DS in with us and I'll be sad when he grows out of his Snuzpod and has to go in the cot bed in his room. It won't be long now I don't think, he's so big and tall

My DD is the same knocking her dummy out, made me laugh earlier while she was waving her arms about in the "I want my dummy" way she actually knocked it back in and surprised herself lol

Blondeshavemorefun · 25/07/2017 22:16

Whatever comforter you use make sure you have lots of them and easy to find

Many times I see on my local fb page dd has lost her bunny /bear/cloth etc and won't sleep without it and can't buy them now .....

Dummies. Dd didn't want (happy with that tbh as annoying when spit out /lose)

She found her thumb couple of weeks ago. So cute when sucking it ansmeans she self settled easily anywhere

MotherofA · 26/07/2017 21:55

Hey thanks guys I'm in shock about it . The actual cut is not sore but the hernia is very painful . I can't exercise or anything .
Yes GP says they will repair it with an op .

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/07/2017 16:47

Sounds ouch. Hope the op managed to heal it better

NameChange30 · 27/07/2017 17:49

Mother
Sorry about your hernia, hope your op will be soon and goes smoothly Flowers

I've been having a really difficult time trying to get DS to nap, it's so frustrating when he's clearly tired and won't sleep Sad Had some luck bouncing him to sleep in his bouncer chair yesterday, but I've tried it loads since then and it hasn't worked again. It seems that falling asleep on us or in the pushchair are still our only option (and don't give us much of a break or chance to do other things!) Sad

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/07/2017 18:06

If babies get over tired they find it hard to settle

Maybe put d's down in cot /Moses basket and leave him for 5mins. Then go back to him. Reassure him if need be then walk away and repeats

This will help him to self settle

purpleviolet1 · 27/07/2017 19:03

I feel like we have come 10 steps backwards as DS has been off peak recently and we've not been following our routine. We've also just moved house and put him straight into cot in his own bedroom (from Moses basket). He is happy to be put down if very drowsy but I am trying to put him down awake.

Blondes, if we put him down, should we ignore any whinging but go as soon as he cries, even if before 5 mins is up? He takes a dummy and is doing that pulling it out/ dropping it/ crying for it to be put back in thing. He doesn't ALWAYS need the dummy to nod off, especially if he is very tired before putting him down. Do we just repeat this?

All advice would be much appreciated, tearing my hair out at the moment with so much going on.....
