And huge respect to EaH, without whose efforts we never would have had a list

(And yes, I am one of those sad people who finds things like temperature sensors in cars really interesting. Nerd.)

Night night

ellieandhattie · 20/03/2007 08:16

I am officially sulking, logged on just to see if laughalots pic was on my email and its not

However, am very because both dd's went to bed at 7pm and slept till 6am (did dreamfeed at 10pm) hurrah hurra hurrah think we have dropped our night feed

wilkie · 20/03/2007 08:40

EAH - at the moment there is no way Jacob is dropping his night feeds and I am getting really frustrated! He takes 5oz every 3.5 hours during the day then at night has 6oz 7.30pm, 5oz 1.30am and 4.5oz 4.30am then is awake fr around 6.30-7.00am. Where am I going wrong?!?!?!? Tried dreamfeeding and it just seemed to disturb him more than help him go longer. I am knackered.....

Lizzzombie · 20/03/2007 08:41

I am such a div.
I thought that I'd carry on not having periods if I was BF and on mini pill. Apparently not. Shit. Now I have to spend my chocolate money on tampax!

Lizzzombie · 20/03/2007 08:42

Wilkie - Dylan still feeds at night too. They are still little, and apparantly some take to it earlier than others. If mine doesnt wake up for his, then I end up poking him awake to make sure he is breathing anyway!
New photos are still not uploading - grr!

wilkie · 20/03/2007 08:43

Morning Lizz - the weather is shite here today so think it will be an MN day today My period is hanging around but not actually starting properly. I keep rushing to the loo, Tampax in hand only to find nothing Expecting a mega period in a few days.

EAH - have forwarded Laughalots email to you from mine.

wilkie · 20/03/2007 08:44

X posts Lizz - I know I just feel when others are having their LOs sleep through!

RGee · 20/03/2007 08:47

EAH - what a great night! Since we put lo in her own room she has slept from 7pm - 3.30am then until 6.30am. Do you reckon if I woke her for a feed c 10ish, she'd sleep right the way through?

EAH / Wilkie / Laughalot - I see you were busy last night Hope the pictures came through. It took me all my cup of tea to read your posts!

Annie - I saw a cheaper sheepskin in Ikea a few weeks ago. Can't remember the price though - helpful huh. Think it was c £45. Maybe worth checking out Ebay.

Shimmer - my DH introduced me to EBay a few weeks ago. Only just bought something, but it could be the start of a whole new addiction BTW, can't believe you've only met your in-laws once!! York is a lovely place and worth a visit. For the pubs if nothing else!

RGee · 20/03/2007 08:50

Hi Lizz. Wondered where you'd been. It's been, ohhh, all of a couple of days since your last post.

to you and Wilkie for your nights. I can only guess things will improve. Helpful huh.

ellieandhattie · 20/03/2007 08:52

wilkie >> am not sulking anymore

Laughalot they are gorgeous

Wilkie have swapped Hattie onto aptamil as couldnt get her to budge her wind on sma (knw you are using aptamil now!) but she has 5oz milk at 6am, 10am,2pm and 6oz at 6pm and 10pm. BUT the 6pm and 10pm feed are the hungrier baby milk (stage 2 on aptamil) as it takes longer to digest it keeps thier tummies feeling fuller for longer.

Think I may just be lucky and have children that sleep through early but I do have friends that are still doing one night feed at 16 and 20 weeks think it just depends on their tummies. Have you tried to give him more milk at the 1.30 to see if he'll then strech to 6am? Hows he getting on in his fleece suit?

ellieandhattie · 20/03/2007 08:54

Rgee we are all better now so will be posting bappy today hopefully !

It may work if you do a dreamfeed around 10-10.30 some babies take to it and others dont but always worth a try

Lizzzombie · 20/03/2007 08:56

Have uploaded more photos of my LO! woo hoo!
Does anyone know when we can start putting them on their tummies to roll over? Dylan will lie on his tummy for a while and lift his head up, but I dont know when they are supposed to start rolling over. [pushy mother emotion!]

ellieandhattie · 20/03/2007 08:57

nappy not bappy

laughalot · 20/03/2007 08:59

Morning girls sorry you dident get my email eah hopefully wilkie has more joy sending it

Wilkie you know on the last feed you give him at 4:30 try giving him water to make him realise its not worth getting up as he wont get any milk, lauren was going down around nine then waking at about two and then about five so at the 5 oclock feed I gave her water and since then she never woke up again it took me a few days of trying but it is worth it. I cant dreamfeed either my lo gets to restless and again it does more bad than good, im afraid each child is different my bestfriend has 2 children and both slept through from being 2 weeks old however aidan still was waking for a feed during the night at about 6/7 months hence why I know about the water thing that is what my hv advised to do with aidan and it worked, lauren isnt ready to drop the 2 oclock feed yet as she only leaves a bit so she must be hungry.

Lauren was a bit of a pain last night though I took her out of her moses basket which was in her cot and just out her in the cot last night big mistake she was fine untill first feed then it just went downhill

theUrbanDryad · 20/03/2007 09:02

Lizzz - get a mooncup. i'm going to when my periods start again!

are any of you still using breast pads? i've stopped using them as they were such a massive faff in the night but now all my bras are stained and i can't wear any other colour than black! i am a scummy mummy - but i like to think of myself as "earth mother". i was barefoot in the park the other day (although that was just so i could show off my tattoo!! need to start planning my next one now - i know what i want i just can't afford it!)

as far as i know, "greebo" is short for "greasy biker", so sort of the same as "goth" (which i also get shouted at me on a regular basis!) but perhaps less miserable! people round my way seem to think that i'm fair game for their rude comments now i have a baby - elderly ladies in particular enjoy having a go because i have Zac in a sling! i've yet to think of a good comeback for them though...

i'll be putting in my order for cloth nappies as soon as i can (MIL is paying for them which makes me feel reeeaaalllly mean about having a go at her on here!) - anyone else using them? how have you found the washloads etc? and what do you do if you're going out?

annie - looked at your profile.....you certainly look very glamorous!! everyone's LOs are very very cute...lovely to see some smiley pics on there now!

wilkie · 20/03/2007 09:14

EAH - might try the hungry baby Aptamil - is it safe to use two different milks? Makes sense though - I could use that for the 7.30pm and 1.30pm feed [Wilkie rushes off to Asda...]

Lizz - Dylan is so cute and OH MY GOD looks like your DP!!

Jacob has finally taken to a grobag so am taking the fleece sleepsuit back.

Laughalot - might try the water thing if the hungry baby Aptamil doesn't work. I am sure the 4.30am feed is habit more than need - it he could just go to 6am Wilkie and DH would be very happy I'm not bothered about the 1.30am feed.

Annie - you are GLAM! In that photo of you in hosp you don't look like you have just given birth! I looked minging

wilkie · 20/03/2007 09:14

UD - scuse my ignorance but what's a mooncup?

theUrbanDryad · 20/03/2007 09:20

a mooncup is like a silicon-type thingie which you pop up yer vag instead of a tampon, and wash it out every evening or whatever!! not sure whether you're supposed to use at night, i think i'll just use a towel at night!! but they must save a fortune in tampax and think how much better they are for the environment! [rampant eco-warrior emoticon] just need to find an equivalent for condoms now....

ellieandhattie · 20/03/2007 09:30

ANNIE just been reading your profile and read this and thought who wrote about my life hehe!!

"Despite being a bit of a wing it person, with children, I do like routine and aim for water, apples, painting and making necklaces out of pasta shapes, but often end up with Fruit Shoots, Quavers, Nic Junior and Cbeebies.

Letting children eat grapes in the supermarket is OK but I always pay for any crisps consumed on the trip around."

especially the nic jnr/beebies things and inever confess on the threads that kick off re the grapes/fruitshoot but I'll do anything for a quite life huh!

ellieandhattie · 20/03/2007 09:32

wilkie no problems mixing the milk

wilkie · 20/03/2007 09:37

Right, am going to try it then but am going to buy some ready made cartons first off to try it tonight rather than spend my cash on a huge box if it doesn't work!!

BTW - ASDA have easter eggs for £1 and not the scabby small ones, I got a terrys choc orange one and a cadbury flake one for £1 each! BARGAIN!

carrotcake · 20/03/2007 09:41

omg, I'm going to get a cup of tea before trying to read through all of these..

ellieandhattie · 20/03/2007 09:43
