Flame, the site does look fab. I am especially interested as I'm considering doing similar - but only when we go back to live in Australia, so don't worry, no competition! We are planning on heading back in about a year, and there are very few nappy sellers there...so I will be plugging you for tips! My DH will do our website, but I know nothing about ordering stock, buying wholsale etc etc.

Evening ladies!

Posted on the Derby mile thread.

Hope you can make it Smiley.

laundrylover · 09/05/2007 00:14

Just finished work. Trying to ignore Kiah crying in her cot....

Flame, I was trying to think what microfibre did and you said it so well. It's funny stuff eh?

Really looking forward to Sat, not only the MfM but because this bloody bid will be gone forever.

Hope you make it Smiley - are those HUdd/Wake lot a nice bunch then? Worth joining on a meet up??

Chloe55 · 09/05/2007 08:15

She's good our Flame isn't she?

laundrylover · 09/05/2007 09:58

OMG our thread is under attack from Feb mums!!! They'll find out what genius babies we have even though they are a whole month younger - ladies switch to code 1....the parrot squawks at ten past ten...over and out.

Astrophe · 09/05/2007 10:09

lol LL

Flamesparrow · 09/05/2007 11:30

Bah, my little man is such a genius he can crack your codes for me

Frizbe · 09/05/2007 18:15

OMG it actually looks like there is life in the march thread after all oh no, sorry its just being crashed hi girls!!
Glad to see your both coming on Sat astro, I've had the girls jabs moved to 3pm tho and that's in Nottm, so will only be able to stay at Markeaton till 1pm ish, cause I gotta get back to Ripley and get dh and ss, for the Nottm trip, as we're heading to mums after......
Gonna fly for now as trying to find a map to markeaton for LL! .....easier said than done apparently......and got friend round whose juggling the kids too

UniSarah · 09/05/2007 20:11

I recon there life in the old thread yet ladies, we just don;t spend AS much time on here as some do coz we're all such super mums paying lots of attension to our kids- yeah.
I'm starting to think boy is happier when hes NOT having too much attention. Or maybe it was just teeth, but he was a grumpy little s*d at lunch time but played by him self nicely for a n hour while I was cooking later in the afternoon.

Yu'll get there with the napies Smiley, agree microfibre is funny stuff but it seems to work.
face flannels folded in 2 or 3 make decent boosters too. Boy will often end up with teh front of the nappy soaked but teh back still dry, I'm folding boosters to put extra at the front.

Bummer about the lost work files. I'm really enjoying NOT having to go to work at teh mo. I have finally finished teh PAT and maintenance project, I expect it will crop up again before teh end of teh the year tho as tech manager wants to keep on top of things better than previous.

We have the same Uni - dry back of nappy and WET front! Just bought the most wonderful assortment of nappies and wraps from horsemadgal - 10 items for £25! Some are too small (for next baby ), but am enjoying trying some rainbow tots and various wraps in our night time kit, all boosted with hemp fleece.

LL, I meant to congratulate you a while back on your amazing weight loss - you are amazing! My diet started yesterday and I am already bored and hungry! I honestly admire your determination and self control!

Was chatting to a friend who also wants to lose some weight, and we decided we would do weigh ins and try and encourage one another, and if its doesn't work we will go to SW together. We had a weigh in on Tues night and we weighed exactly the same amount! Weird! Anyway, my goal is to lose 3 lb per fortnight (well, as much as I can really!), and when I lose 6 I get to treat myself to some new clothes, then again at 12 etc.

Any fab sugestions for filling snacks? I usually eat bread/crumpets/brioche, but they are not great options I guess (especially when covered in nutella!) I got some ryvita with currents in them today which are yummy.

Flamesparrow · 09/05/2007 20:41

"we just don;t spend AS much time on here as some do coz we're all such super mums paying lots of attension to our kids"

You're just all off gossipin on different threads

I likes it on here

Astrophe · 09/05/2007 20:41

and you're very welcome Flamesparrow. Can I make you a cuppa?

Flamesparrow · 09/05/2007 20:49

Always good

Flamesparrow · 09/05/2007 20:52

Being nosey now... how much weight have you lost LL??

UniSarah · 09/05/2007 21:33

ratz-found out by flame... yep tounge was firmly in cheek whan I posted that line about super mums. Hi Flame. I'm holding out to see what 2nd hand wraps show up now I've let my need for more wraps be known at mums and tots, a couple of people said they would look out their now unused ones.

OP posts:
Flamesparrow · 09/05/2007 21:37

Impressed that you have mums that have wraps!! All mine look at me like I'm insane if cloth comes up!

laundrylover · 09/05/2007 23:08

I've lost 2 stone and 2 lbs so far - hurrah. Stayed the same this week due to suprise period and also stress eating of Thorntons due to loss of hard drive/life!!!

If I lose another 1.5 lbs then I'll have lost what Tilly weighs which is pretty amazing as if I pick her up she's bloody heavy.

My next big goal is to lose 3.5 stones by the end of July when we go to see the Arctic Monkeys...may wear a skinny top!

Astro, that sounds like a really good idea with your friend, good luck. Snacks...chopped up fruit and Yeo valley fat free yogurt is actually very yummy. Snacking is the hardest thing for me to cut down on though. I do quite like Ryvita with low fat cheese spread tho. Bread is pretty much a thing of the past although I can have wholemeal rolls or toast as a healthy extra. Crumpets are not too bad (low syns) but I do have to have a bit if butter on 'em. Will pack an extra Ryvita for you on Sat. Really looking forward to it.

Flamesparrow · 09/05/2007 23:24

Wow!!!

I'm impressed

Astrophe · 09/05/2007 23:27

V impressed LL!

Thanks for those snack ideas. I really want to go well this first fortnight as I don't want to be discouraged - want to start with a bang. Problem is I don't realy have loads to lose (I think 15kg would be my ideal weight, but 10 would be fine), so I swing backwards and forwards between being bothered to lose it and not bothered to lose it IYSWIM

DS crying...

munz · 10/05/2007 09:09

hello all quick stop in from me today will catch up in a bit when the boy is sleeping. how are you all doing?

Flamesparrow · 10/05/2007 10:01

We neeeeeeeeeeeeed to meet!!!

laundrylover · 10/05/2007 10:19

Munz! Where have you been???? Fill us in on you and J - tell all....

munz · 10/05/2007 11:21

flame we really must meet up! lol - we will get there one day! lol. (i'm a bit stuck till the end of the month thou - bloody army cocked up DH's wages and we're down 1/4 of his wages - might not sound much but at £300 on a single income family it's too much iycwim) ooh and also these here reusable nappies - what would you recommend for a heavy wetter? (and trying to convince DH to go back to the resuables any thoughts?) we're currently on pampers and it's costing a fortune! lol.

we've been plodding along, the computer crashed back in feb so DH has kindly built me (him) a new one, so had to wait for his bonus before he could do it. so during that time (MN free! lol) I had loads of time to do the hosue work/get it together etc after moving (wey abck in august! lol) played loads with joey, he's been walking for ages now - is a real little monster who likes to play chase. has grown into a cutie pie - aslthou we are still having a few sleeping probs when he goes down - (we've finally stopped swaddaling!) finally at 14 months lol. which I think is causing a few probs but we'll get there - it's only a prob when he goes to sleep not staying iycwim. he's pretty much eating everything now has 4 teeth top/bottom - ones just cut and has a nasty habbit of 'grating' his teeth together v nasty! lol.

i'm still a sahm, looking about for a job - sort of if the right one comes along type thing. and we've finally decided to go for a no 2 - YAY! lol.

so what's new with all you girls then?

Marne · 10/05/2007 11:29

Hi, just thought i would post as i hav'nt for a few months.

Munz, dd2 is grinding her teeth, she has been unwell for a few days and today i looked in her mouth to find one of her big teeth has come through, this is her 9th tooth

Dd2 started walking at 10 months and is into evrything. She does'nt talk at all (can't get a word in with dd1), her sister was talking at this age.

Is anyone on this thread pg with the next one yet? i would love another but dh not so keen (im working on it)

Hope you are all well
