Marne!! Why is everyone popping by to distract me from my deadline?? Also, not one, but TWO active convos on pegging techniques. This community group I'm working for will have to whistle for thier work whilst I do all this MNing!

More babies - are you mad??? Kiah has only just started sleeping thru. Mind you there are some fab new nappies on the market needing teeny bums to fill 'em...

munz · 10/05/2007 13:16

ooh LL - I can't wait for another one. joey's been going thru form about 7 months - we had a blip for a few weeks, but he's 7-7 now if not later so v v lucky here - the hours screaming isn't so bad as it's better at 7 than at 1am or something iycwim.

Astrophe · 10/05/2007 15:59

no 'nuther one for us yet either - Eli is just sleeping through (as of 12 months - like magic!) and I feel like another at the mo would be spreading myself too thin between DD and DS. Hoping for another 2 in a few more years though!

Great to se you Marne and Munz!!!

laundrylover · 10/05/2007 16:21

Astro, isn't this sleep wonderful? Last night I set the alarm for 7.10am just in case and to my amazement it woke me up!! With a jolt too because one of the girls had turned the volume up to the max! This is our best night yet and I slept too because a wonderful bit of software has found all our photos on the wiped laptop. Mind you none of my work or accounts.

Well, am up to final drafts on this restarted bid....we have visitors coming later and they'll have to entertain the girls and hopefully wash the brekkie pots whilst I finish off! I've managed to get two loads of washing on the line whilst waiting for the kettle to boil or emails to come in tho - priorities eh?

laundrylover · 10/05/2007 16:24

Munz, remember I have two already tho! It's easier to fight those hormones when you're a wise old hag with 3 years parenting under your belt. Actually Tilly is being a dream at the mo and we bought her a double decka dolls buggy as a treat. Poor girl can't get near her old one as Kiah loves it. For someone who can't yet walk she can sure handle a buggy - her cornering is especially good!!

Frizbe · 10/05/2007 18:51

Hi Marne!

Lol at you Flame ya just can't resist.

LL, fantastic weight loss hon keep it up!

Astro, for snacks, one that really helped me to start with was some nice low GI biscuits, mixed berry ones, by some scottish company, Mc summat! soz being crap and can't remember exact name but they come in a carboard box, and then in individual snack packs, to stop you eating too many! Also munchy seeds have helped, as I don't want to eat loads of those, oh and no cakey deserts or fruity puds (pies n crumbles), just meringues with fruit most of the time instead

Hi Uni! Hi Munz, at the grinding of teeth.....I do that myself sometimes

SmileyC · 10/05/2007 21:17

Bloody Hell! You lot have been chatting!
Have to catch up quick. Have limited myself for time tonight-me & DH watching something at 9.30......

SmileyC · 10/05/2007 21:38

Ok. Caught up.
Have to be quick-supposefto be watching tv with DH. Do any of you watch Roman's Empire (BBC 2 9.30, Thurs). Is v funny but quite an acquired taste! Also been watching Diary of a nobody on BBC4 at 10-also really goog.

LL- Yes, the Barnsley/WF people are v nice & friendly-was that a dig about meeting up with you lot????
What a lovely name your daughter has. Well done on weight loss. Might get you to inspire me. Just got back to doing some exercise tonight- started in new year and had been slack over last few weeks. Not sure what I need to lose buit just want to trim up and be fitter before trying for #2.

On closer inspection, agree that microfibre does absorb. Bought another pack y'day.

Think it was nairns cookies you lot were talking about???? Low GI. They are YUM. Not low fat but delicious. BIL got us into them cos he has issues with sugar levels.
Really must go now. Will be on tomorrow (maybe later!!............. )

Frizbe · 10/05/2007 22:00

that's the ones well done!!

laundrylover · 10/05/2007 23:24

Smiley, no it wasn't a dig at all. I was just after your opinion as I am pretty close to them and sometimes wander on to a meet up thread but have never been brave enough to join!

Are you coming on Sat then?

Just pigged out on curry, nan and beer.Got the bid emailled at 8.45 just as our friends came in with the curry - brilliant timing eh?

Astrophe · 10/05/2007 23:27

Hurrah LL! Finished!

laundrylover · 10/05/2007 23:31

Thanks Astro.

Yes, now I'm able to fully dedicate myself to threads about pegging out clothes!

Actually I'm off to bed with my over full tummy to read 'Pies and Prejudice' which is making me laugh out loud...not sure whether you have to be a northener to appreciate it though? Anyone else read it?

Flamesparrow · 11/05/2007 17:15

Enjoyin crashin your thread

LL - Go on a meet up. I have met some lovely people on them

@ curry. I want a curry. Andn beer. Or wine.

Munz... I forgot to look up slings

Flamesparrow · 11/05/2007 17:18

Poddles back... My friend who knows lots about slings saaaaaaaaaaaaays

Storchenweige, a Hoppediz or a Didymos Waves/NINO these are all a particular weave type which is perfect for 20lb + - they are wrap slings and you can use back carries etc for them (which I know DS loves but the hugabub isn't stable enough for it).

SmileyC · 11/05/2007 17:58

LL-Yes they are a nice friendly bunch, easy to talk to. I did not feel "new" at all. They are really welcoming. I agree that you ought to meet them or another group that you get on with.
I would like to come tomorrow but don't know the details (sorry, have left this all rather last minute!) I tried the link further down the page but it did nothing. I did a google search and it said meeting point is the bridge.....I've never been there, so don't know where the bridge is!!! Can anyone give me some pointers? A site with a map? Also, is it an 11am kick off? What time are people staying until? Is there somewhere to get lunch? Does it matter that I have not got sponsorship?(I can try to get some retrospectively) Sorry for all the questions..... Who else is going???? I expect the forecast is rain?

Been out from 8.45am-4pm so no washing done today and besides, it's been a bit iffy weather-wise.
How's everyone? What you all up to this w/e?

Astrophe · 11/05/2007 19:51

smiley, I don't think the meeting place is set yet - will let you know. There is one cafe which is not brilliant - ok for a cup of tea or muffin, but I'm bringing lunch (which reminds me...we have no food in the house!)

I'll post again when we know the details. It is 11am start.

SmileyC · 11/05/2007 20:03

Ok. Thanks. Will that be tonight? Any idea about where to find a map of markeaton park? Googling does not bring up anything useful.

UniSarah · 11/05/2007 20:38

LL where do you find these fasinating threads about pegging , all I seem to find is rehashes of "my kid wants..." or "havn't things changed"

OP posts:
Frizbe · 11/05/2007 20:41

If you get a map of derby (multi map) then its easier to find markeaton park, its just down the side of the university. The Mundy Play Centre is just off the road with the Uni on it, so if your coming from out of town A38 down from M1, you need to come to Markeaton Island which is on the A38, has huge esso garage on one side, go right round it and back up A38 in the other direction, then come off at 1st junction signed Uni and Mundy Play Centre, left off the island and then I think its 1st left again, its well signed anyway.
We're meeting at the bridge by Mundy
Play centre, which is the one leading from the car park. Look for a bunch of pink ladies! Kick off is 11am so we'll be lurking from about 10.45 onwards

LL has met Astro and I you know , but agree LL you should meet up with the more northern and nearer crew too!

So for dd1, she's confused, she thinks we're walking for Madeline, the poor missing girl, I keep telling her it's not, it's for Maude, someone else entirely but it's playing on her mind it seems She's also upset about her booster jabs tomorrow as well so let's hope we can shift her into better spirits tomorrow eh!

Oh Daemara is bringing the Radio Flyer, so the older kids can take turns riding in that!

laundrylover · 11/05/2007 20:45

In good housekeeping! Do a search for my name in the last few days -I'm only ever on a couple of threads at a time.

I tell you, I'm feeling a bit less OCD after someone admitted that her pegs have to be in matching pairs and compliment the item of clothing!!!

Smiley again you can find the Mile for Maude thread as above. I'm sure we'll all meet up eventually, wandering round with pink kids in the rain! I might make the next Hudd/Bards/Wake meet up if you are going then....

Tilly was really sweet tonight. We were talking about how Maude had died etc. (she is well up on death following nanny and sis's miscarriage) and she said, 'never mind mummy, you could get a another baby in your tummy and it can be called maude - or Maudes mummy and daddy could do that'. Awwww...

SmileyC · 11/05/2007 20:54

Thanks. I'm sort of ok getting to Markeaton Park. It was more the layout I was worried about. i.e. don't know one end of the park form the other and wanted to make sure that I find you all once I actually get parked up!
LL- I have a bit of OCD behaviour with pegging out. Glad it's not just me. Have to have all the nappies beside each other etc. Also have to give everything a good shake before I hang-though that's really so they don't dry creased and I get away without iroing! I also peg trousers out by the legs (that's really me being scientific cos they are not as thick as waistband and hence should dry more easily!) I have gradually come to realise over the last 12months or so that I'm quite anal about stuff like that-often tell DH off if he hangs without shaking washing first! Also have my jacket potatoes cut in a certain way and my horlicks made in a certain way.....

SmileyC · 11/05/2007 20:58

ooh, forgot to say- Do I need to wear pink? I didn't realise. Have a pink shirt but think it's seen better days so you'll have to forgive me if I look like a scruffbag!

UniSarah · 11/05/2007 20:59

don;t worry smiley, every on e hads their own favoured way of doing things like that. and woe betide the DiL who does it differntly!
Dh and I come from differnt family ways of pegging socks!
Thanks for teh hint LL, I'm off for a look, its not a bit of the board I've wondered round before. I'ma creature of nappies/ camping/ enviroment/ PN/ behaviour/SN habit

OP posts:
Astrophe · 11/05/2007 21:04

yes smiley, pink if you can manage it. If you email me I will send you my mobile number, just in case you get lost.

katisrael at gmail dot com

SmileyC · 11/05/2007 21:20

Astrophe-just emailed you. Off to hunt for my pink top!
What about sponsoring? Do you have a Derby just giving page? Could get friends & family to add to it rather than set up my own?
