Happy Birthday LL sounds like you had a good one.
The Derby Mile should be at Markeaton Park, so long as the park ok it, still waiting on them at the mo, they won't ok it until we get the increased insurance of 5 mill, in April......If your coming LL, you'll be the last person allowed onto it! as we can't have many people without getting into huge organisational bother (council twaddle!)

Uni the buggy sounds great! I must go shopping for a new one this week

UniSarah · 25/03/2007 21:22

Boy had his 1st haircut this morning. A number 3, which removed a small ammount of hair from behind his ears and left the rest untouched as its STILL too short. he does look tidier without the wispy bits tho.
Another milestone, our babies are growing up.

Welcome Squeakybub to our even quieter than usual thread!!

Well, it's Kiah's big day tomorrow but actually she has to wait until Sunday for her cake as I figured that she really won't know. She gots lots of pressies to open tomorrow though (none from us so must at least get a card eh).

My cousin arrived home from Bangkok yesterday so was able to give her a big hug today. She is just feeling better from her first chemo but it's due again next week. Her hair is coming out so think she is getting it clipped at the weekend. It's really good to have her back and she was so relieved to land at Manchester Airport and breathe some crisp spring air. Her sister flew back with her who lives in Sydney so we get an unscheduled visit from her too.

Are you all enjpying this weather? Washing lines fully loaded I hope!!! My nappies are looking gorgeous out there.

catASTROPHE · 28/03/2007 16:30

Squeaky, hi and welcome I am also in Derby, and have DD 2.10 and DS was 1 on the 9th.

Have a lovely day tomorrow LL!

Yes, my line is loaded! Just bought some Wambamboos and fleece wrap off MN which arrived today and look lovely, looking forward to trying them tonight!

I'm a bit coldy today, and didn't have much sleep last night as DD was up 3 times with nightmares and DS up at 6am. Sigh. Had an unexpectedly nice arvo though, as DS is asleep and DD has been playing happily by her self (hurrah!) in the sand pit for over an hour! Bliss! I have got all my jobs done, so hopefully can have an early night. zzzzzzz

Found out yesterday we are moving into a friends place when they go to USA in May. Am v excited as its a bit bigger and much nicer than our current place, and has a gorgeous big garden.

tigerschick · 28/03/2007 16:36

Hello? Please can I come in?

Dd was 1 on 13th March, can I join you please? We're nice really

laundrylover · 28/03/2007 17:00

Welcome tigerschick - nice to have some new group members now we are the proud owners of 1 year old little darlings.

Astro, sympathies on the sleep front. Kiah was up for hours last night (teeth??) crawling around the bed and chattering away. I love my wambamboos, boost them with a microfibre and they'll last through breakfast too!! Bet they haven't even dried out on the line today though. Not convinced about my fleecy wrap but do love my Wacky wraps which are fleece on the outside. Roll on summer 'cos I want them on display under a mini skirt. On Kiah, not me!!!

House sounds fab...keep us posted. We are loving having the garden here and allate lunch al fresco yesterday.

AspartameGoddessOfCatAstrophe · 28/03/2007 22:37

Hey ladies just trying my new nickname on for size. Whatdya think?

UniSarah · 29/03/2007 11:23

Bit of a mouthful astro! and pardon me but Aspartamene leaves a bitter aftertaste... not sure I'd want to assoicate with it that closely. Am wondering about changing my nick name some time as well. Unis is my top idea.

Hi to new girls. welcome to the quiet but friendly thread for new one year old owner managers.

Did have nappies out yesterday, got lovely and dry but still smell a bit so must remember to do an extra rinse or 2 next wash I haven't do so for a couple of weeks so detergent has built up somewhat, oops. I'm hoping boy will be walking in teh summer so he can show off funky airflow wraps , his knees need him to be in long trews at present as he insists on crawling across ANYTHING in his way. he has little boy legs already, covered in bruises and scrapes.
righto, while boy is napping I OUGHT to do something more construtive than drifting around MN, like e-mailing council to whinge about cycle lane access points not wide enough for trailers. My german neightbour and I have just been compareing notes over tea and shes not sure enouh of her writen english so I'm the one to write it.

Hi Squeakbub, I'm new!

I know what you mean about the old cliche 'how time flies'!

I also know what you mean about nappies. Tho I do use reusables most of the time, I have many times that disposables are just easier. I'm not, like a friend of mine is, militant about it. Dd is in disposables at night and every time we're out of the house for more than a couple of hours, and when I haven't managed to get the nappies dry in time ... and when dh is in charge ... and when I'm being lazy ...

tigersEasterchick · 29/03/2007 20:49

Sorry, squeakYbub!

AspartameGoddessOfCatAstrophe · 29/03/2007 21:16

not too late though squeaky, if you still felt like trying them. Good thing is you would only need one size from now until potty training! We didn't start until DS was about 5 months, and that meant we have only hd to buy one size of almost all nappies/wraps.

Oh yes, they are so big now, and so clever, and mobile...not really babies anymore are they?

UniSarah · 29/03/2007 21:35

Toodlers really now most of the time, even if they aren't yet toodling on two feet. Except when they are poorly or tired when they can go all baby on you again.

OP posts:
laundrylover · 31/03/2007 23:06

Well Kiah was one on Thursday so that makes all the babies a whole year old. To celebrate she stood up on her own albeit very briefly and only the once. She can also say 'Tilly' but not to command and only first thing in the morning when you nearly miss it.

We all went to my auntie's 60th tonight (her birthday is same as Kiah's) 'til 10pm. I bet the girls sleep in on the one morning I have to be up with a list as long as my arm to do as we are having a birthday/house warming open house all day. Making the cake is first on the list and the nappies are already in the washer.

OMG you should see the transformation in our living room!!! In less than a month it has gone from seventies monstrosity to chic, grown up room.DP just enjoying his first MOTD in there with a roaring fire just for the hell of it - we have a lot of bamboo flooring offcuts to burn....

Frizbe · 01/04/2007 08:30

Hi Tigers! welcome to the thread!

LL we want photos
So now dd2 is 1, your keeping her up till all hours eh is this taste of her own medicine time?
have had washing out on line all week mam!

Just looked over at the kids, dd1 is playing with dd2's toys and dd2 is trying to operate dd1's toy computer! ss is watching power rangers even though he 'hates' the new series

AspartameGoddessOfCatAstrophe · 01/04/2007 21:14

Hope you had a lovely day LL! We had a boring weekend really. DH quite likes to be at home doing nothing much on weekends, but it drives me mad - maybe 'cause while he is relaxing I am looking after the kids...like I always do...NOt that I mind looking after the kids, but I do go a bit stir-crazy when we don't get out of a weekend. LL and Friz, any sugestions of a nice day out for weekend after Easter? DH has agreed to do a proper day trip and picnic Maybe we will finally get to YSculpture park.

Must go and do some research for our proposed holiday to Ireland in June, have finally pinned DH down and got some dates, so can start sorting it out now.

AspartameGoddessOfCatAstrophe · 01/04/2007 21:17

oh friz, love those moments when they are all playing nicely and things are going well. It pays to notice them and store them in your memory! We had one this arvo when I said "both children are sitting happily at the table eating their dinner I don't believe it" - dinner included VEGETABLES!!! And whats more, DH and I were also sitting, not running around doing jobs! Hurrah!

gothicmama · 02/04/2007 20:12

Hi all,

Can you believe it they are all 1 now where has teh time gone. DS is walking now but still only has 2 teeth how are all your little ones
