I'm not still logged on....I'm NOT!

Astrophe · 25/04/2007 22:23

neither am I

SmileyC · 25/04/2007 22:32

Whilst we are talking of PND...not sure whether I had/have it or not but have been getting incredibly down sometimes. Always lift self out of it but felt so so low sometimes. But I'm not sure whether that's the way I am naturally. Saw a prog about Manic Deprssion a while ago and thought it seemed a bit like me-to a very mild degree. I often seem to be full of enery and eagerness or really tired and lethargic.

I put alot of this (lethargy) down to a house that needs a complete redecoration and not having a close circle of friends up this way: The house we bought up here was owned by an old lady and had (still has, in some rooms)flowery carpet/wallpaper etc etc. Also had no proper kitchen. Basically the entire house needed doing up. It is so hard to sort a house out whilst you are living in it but because we moved here from the south, we had no choice but to move straight in. Once DS arrived it became so hard to get alot doen cos he needs looking after and we have no family to act as babysitters and don't have hoards of friends to ask either. Anyway, the house is slowly coming along but it's been a catch 22-I have been so worn down by all the work that we need to do that I had no energy to get on with it!
The friends situation is improving too!

SmileyC · 25/04/2007 22:33

seriously logging off now. Will catch up tomorrow-DH just came passed to use toilet and looked unimpressed-I said I'd come in and join him an hour ago!
Toodleoo!x

UniSarah · 26/04/2007 16:27

re unisex- No dh and I have not acheieved level 11 in the unicycle skill levels. Some people have! I would say no wheels were involved in boys conception but that wouldn't be strickly true either! send ??? if you want to know more

laundrylover · 26/04/2007 21:33

Uni.....was he conceived in a caravan like Kiah??? Or a wheelbarrow maybe.....do tell! Can people really have sex on a unicycle? Do they share one or have one each and kind of bump into each other?

Smiley,
we've had this discussion about PND/exhaustion/general life depresion many times as both Astro, Caddy and myself have suffered. I really identify with you on the lethargy angle and strangely we moved into a granny house in March too! I am impatient even though I know we need to save money and time to do the big jobs. Therefore although I love my bamboo floor downstairs, I have to live with an orange bathroom suite and an electric hob - aaaggghhhh!!!

Think we need a cheery meet up - I'm up for Chatsworth again as not sure where Markeaton is but do enlighten me. Dates in May that I can't do are....next week, 15th, 21st and then we are away from the 25th.....my two days working in London were quite lucrative and I picked up some exciting (and well paid) work which is good. However my lack of childcare fior Kiah is now even more annoying....DP is having the kids next week though as I have a tight deadline on a tender document. I'm sure I'll have time to pop onto the thread but I must be strong and not venture elsewhere on MN!

Frizbe · 26/04/2007 21:39

???

Yep it could be said I like GNR too, but prefer their earlier stuff! It was me in Tenerife fab time had, and bearing that in mind, I have to dash at the mo, too, as my dh would also like to see me tonight, and I've been at the gym for over an hour of it, and on here for half an hour, so will be getting into serious bother if I don't go soon!

Re meets its looking like the Mile for Maude in Derby is the 1st free weekend for me at the mo, weekdays I'm rather busy until then too but the weeks following that are looking clearer if anyone wants to start naming dates to go out, mondays are not good tho, as both dd's at nursery!

LL the orange is very retro!

UniSarah · 26/04/2007 21:45

good news on the work front for you LL. my testing and maintenance projetc is about to finish- yeahhhhh, next friday SHOULD be my last morning on it. Hopefully I'll be able to stick with more interesting weekend events for teh summer.
Unis and sex- generaly thought to be better 2 on 1 (bloke sitting on saddle partner sat on him IYSWIM) , 2 on 2 the saddles get in the way unless you both like a knee trembler ( and are bloody good riders coz you would be bent right over to avoid bumping wheels).
NO caravan or wheelbarrow involved in boys creation. BUT I'm sure I had implantation pains from him while cycling to the eden project. That was 1st clue that we might have got our timing right that month.

Uni,think MN Towers will be censoring us soon.

Friz, Mile for Maude day is still free for me but I'm not signed up for the Derby one yet...Astro and Smiley are you going to be there?

Uni,I finally got asked to do some facilitating which is what I've been chomping at the bit to do since doing some fab training yonks ago! It's a bit scary as will be with a really disparate staff team, most of whom I know quite well. If I get my planning right though and stay ahead of the game we should all be swigging ale together and united in our vision by the end of the day. I went and bought somevery cool worky type trousers at H&M today in readiness for the big day. This is the trouble with losing lots of weight, your pants fall down in public!

Astrophe · 27/04/2007 13:24

Uni, am staggered..there is a whole world out there of which I know nothing! I'm sure I will puzzling over the logistics of that performance for weeks now!

SmileyC: PND, I also had no family friends around after DS was born, and other difficult things going on. I think though, that even though they contributed to the way I was feeling, they didn't mean it wasn't PND. Does that make any sense?

I had many people say "oh, its just that your tired and Ds isn't feeding well and you've moved to a different country...of course you're feeling down, anyone would!", which made me think it couldn't be PND, and that I was overreacting.

But just because you have identified some causes doesn't mean its not PND. I'm not saying it is of course, but for me, having a 'diagnosis' helped, so if you think it might be, talk to your HV or GP and don't be put off by the "oh, its just because you've moved" type arguements.

Still not sure if we can make MFM as we don't know our moving date and may be packing or moving. I will come on the day if I can, but haven't signed up.

LL, Markeaton is just outside the ringroad on the north side of derby. I'd be happy to meet there, but its very close to me!

SmileyC · 27/04/2007 13:28

LL- Glad I'm not the only person who lives in a granny house! It seems that whoevers house I visit, it's always spotless and very stylishly decorated, whereas we've had crap everywhere for 2.5 yrs, since we moved in. We have actually done quite a bit, but you forget that when there is still loads to do! Hmmm, sounds like it was a good thing you got new trousers-don't want them round your ankles at work!
Not sure about Mile for Maude. What day is it one? And what date? Did read about it but can't remember dates.....

UniSarah- Wow! I am very impressed that people have unisex! Would have never imagined such a thing! Amazing!

Should not be on here in daytime- I banned myself-but was feeling very lethargic etc again. Am making my way through 1L of high juice cos think it's due to dehydration-perking up already!

SmileyC · 27/04/2007 13:40

Astrophe-Our posts crossed!
I see what you mean about PND. It certainly seems very common-several women on another site I go on had/have it.
Thing is with me, I've always been rather up and down;either am in love with the world and think it's all wonderful or am not interested in anything, tired,v spaced out, can't be arsed and feel v low. I do get in betweens but the extremes of high/low does bother me.Suppose I never considered that it could be PND cos I have always been able to find reasons for feeling like that. I sometimes wonder if I had a sort of breakdown a number of years back-I had a very unhappy period for a while after Uni, also nearly got wiped out by a lorry-which my mum said has made me a lot less relaxed than I was before and I think arranging our wedding did a similar thing since I wanted it all to be perfect but tried to do it all myself, more or less!

Frizbe · 27/04/2007 20:45

Mile for Maude is Sat 12th May and Astro and LL, your technically already counted in on the list as possible maybes

Great news re the Job LL so can you get em all singing of the same hymn sheet quickly do you think?
Congrats on the new trews too

Uni at your colourful descriptions of unisex, agreeing with Astro, what a whole new world there is out there!

Frizbe · 27/04/2007 20:47

Ohhh nearly forgot, can now say that cousin is officially 14 weeks pregnant and all is well so far

Astrophe · 27/04/2007 23:19

Friz, thats great news. Is she feeling ok physically and emotionally? It must be very hard, as well as wonderful for her.

Frizbe · 28/04/2007 19:50

Astro, I think she's kinda hanging on in there as best as she can, putting a brave face on things. Must be so hard for her, sure things will be fine for her this time round, but I can imagine she's not feeling that.

UniSarah · 29/04/2007 19:56

Have to say that I only know of 2 or 3 couples who claim to have achieved unicycle skill level 11 ( as its known in the uni community). Unfortunatly I can believe it of them, they ARE extremely good riders. Many more boys have probadly managed level 10.5 !

Dead busy getting breast feeding awareness week stuff sorted, was at an NCT training day yesterday, got Loads of fab resourses and have to use them tomorrow for a notice board and wednesday for a coffee morning! eek.

Hi-Just popped on to say hello before bed! Recently dropped DS late feed but somehow been going to bed much later-not far off midnight most nights (yawn). Hence I'm off to bed now in the hope of waking up all refreshed and raring to go tomorrow!
Hope you all had a nice w/e

Frizbe · 29/04/2007 22:57

Ok Uni now I'm imagining, what I think is level 10.5 is, what I think it is eh?!
Good stuff re the BF awareness week, are you doing it all for NCT? or on behalf of NCT to outside groups?

Smiley, shame about the late nights, lets hope he drops em soon eh!

Sooo been to local hosp with dd1 today, doc kindly told me, she does have an ear infection (no sherlock) but won't give anti b's for it for another week, in the hope it clears up on its own 'sigh'....she's had her quota of nurofen for the day, its calpol now.....
dd2 on the other hand is happy as larry and decide to randomly bite me on the boob whilst hugging me today, ouch those teeth hurt!

Astrophe · 29/04/2007 23:02

for DD1 Friz.

Would you mind taking a quick squiz at my thread in legal/money on terminating a lease? Don't know if its your bug but...? Also, what the name of your pool that doesn swimming lessons for tinies? Thanks!

Hi Smiley and all others, am menat to be doing online ADSA and going to bed, but am sitting stressing about moving and giving notice and the fact that our child assistance/CTB just dropped suddenly by £450 a month!!!

Frizbe · 29/04/2007 23:08

Astro, just did not sure if it helps though?
I have an inventory for your new gaff if you/your new landlord needs it too?
The swim thing is at Horizions Gym in Derby I think, I'll e-mail you the details tomorrow, as I have the person's tel no!

Astrophe · 29/04/2007 23:27

Inventory?

I think we are using the lease you sent (have mailed it to the landlord - THANKS!!!) and have let them know about the bond thing, although they had also found out about it which was good - they are keen to set the whole thing up properly.

Thanks for details and info on pools rent etc, you are a foot (as my DH says)
