DTM Just look for us on the feb thread if we go missing!
Astro, have a great weekend. They wouldn't say if the boy had done this before, but I strongly suspect that he had by their reactions to my questioning If he does it again, there will be trouble!

UniSarah · 13/10/2007 20:15

playing footie, ahhhh. Boys into cricket. we discovered danceing tonight, he thinks hes very good and claps himself at teh end when teh TV audience ( of stricky come danceing) applude.

Was it something about teh moon phase or teh weather, have your kids been right pickles today.

Frizombie · 13/10/2007 21:48

Uni, well dd2 has been wappy, but blaming it on the fruit shoot she had at farm park, as they didn't have anything else for the kids to drink

Astro, I've heard the new mall is fabby from Meridian too will have to try and meet you there sometime! coffee hommage.

Astrophe · 14/10/2007 21:08

Yes Friz, lets meet up

Had a great day yesterday, not so good today as DS has been vomiting all day. He managed to keep down a BF tonight and some neurofen, and is now asleep, so hoping for a better day tomorrow.

Frizombie · 14/10/2007 21:19

Will give you a shout when I'm free in a week or two once the shop's underway, although it might be nearer Xmas....and prob a Wed! would that be ok? or a Sat/Sun? keep forgetting I have to work now
Sorry to hear about ds hope he's better for you tomorrow, bug do you think?

Astrophe · 14/10/2007 21:23

yeah, I think a bug - I'm so glad it wasn't yesterday when I was far away in Manchester -all he wanted to do was cuddle his mummy all day Let me know when you are free - I'd say it will be very busy for the next few weeks anyway, so no harm in waiting. DD is at nursery weds, but DS and I can come, and her thinking of changing her days around anyway. Hows the shop going?

Frizombie · 14/10/2007 21:24

Hoping to be open by this Thursday! yikes....got more stock arriving tomorrow and more gap filling stuff to order, then we're off scarey stuff.
Heading for dh now, or he'll get sulky! catch ya soon {{{Hugs}}} to ds

laundrylover · 15/10/2007 20:24

Evening all,

Just catching up on the thread before writing my newsletter for Tots group - cutting edge journalism you know.

Please don't drop this thread as like Astro I can't keep up with fast moving ones!

DTM - hang on in there and I'm sure your new glasses are fine.

Uni - what a tour, no wonder the boy was knackered!

Friz - Thurs is

Hope LOs are all feeling better - Tilly has had a bug too but will be going back to pre-school tomorrow - she was just out of sorts really and up all Sat night whilst DP was away at a stag do. Typical.

UniSarah · 15/10/2007 21:25

LL- cor- a newsletter for mums and tots, wow your group must be full of mums who had REAL JOBS BEFORE KIDS and want to mamange stuff again. I go to one group like that - we have single groupedly saveed our community hall from closing, got it refurbed, new kitchen, new users etc etc. I also go to groups at the surestart centre, where there a number of families who struggle to get to a drop in group at any point in teh 2 hours its on for coz that just too much like timekeeping for them.

OP posts:
Frizombie · 15/10/2007 21:58

Been so busy today, put together all the GW (whispers, games workshop) racking and filled it, had to ring them as some of the order was wrong, turns out the guy had been looking at the old, not the new revised sheet, so more coming out to me now. Got the window display units up and stock on them (bar one unit, stock to arrive tomorrow) and then had a mardy at the till which isn't doing what the manual says it should, re letting me set up clerks, vatcodes etc....have told dh he must go and sort it tomorrow night.(bound to be operator error, not a crap broken till right?)

laundrylover · 15/10/2007 22:18

Uni, the previously crap newsletter was the deciding factor in me joining the committee. It is a nice group with a good mix of people although there is a level of resistance to volunteering for washing up which is beginning to annoy me lots! I may have to start singling people out!!!

I too volunteer for Surestart (in my booby support role) and know what you mean about different attitudes....my friend works for them and runs courses that start at 11am and people cannot get there. She does point out though that if you have never had to get up and out of the house then why change if your baby will sleep in til 10am? Mind you I don't like to generalise too much as I am always running to school with Tilly and am never the first to arrive at Tots even as a keyholder. I slept in until 10 am this morning too.

Frizombie · 17/10/2007 18:58

Yay for sleeping until 10am

Shop opens tomorrow will post more later, out of time, kids to bed!

Astrophe · 17/10/2007 20:36

Everything crossed for you Friz xxx

UniSarah · 18/10/2007 19:36

sending you " teenagers spending lots of money" vibes for tomorrow and the weekend Friz.

Got a work project lined up for Jan/ feb, now need to look at childcare, so have arranged to visit the neighbourhod nursury attched to sure start centre to see whattehy are like, chat with manager on teh phone was promising baout my short termness as they have a bunch of places booked from may but empty in the new year. HAvn;t made my mind up about it yet as we used Childminder last year and got well with that, so may do CM again if they have space.

OP posts:
Frizombie · 18/10/2007 21:32

Could be good Uni, although I think sometimes a CM can be a better idea, as they're more flexiable about hours!

Thanks for the good vibes girls, sold my first Magazine today a whole 2.10, still its a start, had lots of people looking around so long as they've all found us by half term next week, we'll be well away

UniSarah · 18/10/2007 22:16

whey hey, you had a sale on your first day. thats good. and you had more people through the door which is also good, OK they didn;t buy any thing today but you tend not to have warhammer figures on your shopping list every day on the off chancve you'll see somehwere seling them.
I assume you have flyers that teen age oiks can leave lieing around at home so mum will see it before christmas and buy her PFB something nice and bloodthirsty or suitably geeky ( depending on the teen age oik). Are you teh sort of shop that will be running games during teh holidays? Our local one does and the table is always busy when i go past at half term.

OP posts:
Frizombie · 18/10/2007 22:22

Aye Uni, we shall be doing that also at weekends too, various themes I think! Tournaments and such like, main problem is childcare on weekends! lol....roped my mum in for next sat, this weekend as per feb thread, got a mate helping me out (my cover person on hols in USA at mo!) and dh is having the girls (they have jabs sat, his turn to take them he can put up with the screaming )

UniSarah · 19/10/2007 20:33

w/emd childcare is a bit of problem when you work together isn;t it. I have a site visit to do on sunday, so boy will be with DH. I was lucky to be able to arrange it for the weekend, I'm not so keen to take him on site vists at the mo, hes a bit to demanding of my attenstion. I have to do one on wednesday with him tho, ythankfully its local and its only a school feild with a production manager I know well, the meeting afterward up at my house to talk about forthcoming shows could be messy. Last time we did that boy was only crawling baby. Now teh table isn;t safe, as hes a climber.

OP posts:
Frizombie · 19/10/2007 22:14

Hmmm might be a good idea to get a friend to take him for an hour do you think?

UniSarah · 20/10/2007 19:29

Think I'll risk it this time, I'm not sure if hes coming down with a viral thing again, so reluctant to sort childcare and tehn have to cancel coz hes ill and still have to do meeting anyway. If he is under teh weather he can snuggle and I can still talk and look at plans etc. If hes fine and bouncey then I'l see if I can gogle eye him with a DVD.

OP posts:
Frizombie · 20/10/2007 19:39

boo for possibly poorly, lets hope he's not eh.

Not bad 1st Saturday, we made money on yesterday, so as long as things keep building, we're heading in the right direction

laundrylover · 20/10/2007 21:12

Friz,

So pleased that the shop is going well already - told you all that hard work would pay off!

Uni, hope the boy is feeling better today.

Both my girls are not quite right. I think Tilly may have chickenpox which would explain why she has been so horrible for the last two weeks. Kiah is full of a snotty cold and also has teeth coming through and sticky eyes - ugh!

I'm just online making a shortlist and doing pros and cons for a holiday house for next Aug. We are going with two other families so need a big house!

Frizombie · 21/10/2007 12:25

Where you going LL, if devon/cornwall, country cottages online, have always been very good for us!
Sorry to hear that the kids are poorly {{{{Hugs}}}} Its not nice, I'm just glad we got pox out the way in one go last year.

Uni hope ds is ok {{{{Hugs}}}} to you too.

Dh is in shop today 10-4, trying to rake in more cash we're off to see him in a bit, take him some lunch. Having a domesticated day, lunch in a mo, then potter in garden, sorting out plants for winter a bit more. Take dh some lunch, back via shops, for choc-chip muffin ingredients Think I'm going to put film in dd1's camera and she can take some photos of Autumn whilst we're out too

Where is, and how is everyone else???

UniSarah · 21/10/2007 19:39

Uumm, choc chips... were they nice?

For a boy who not very well, boy had a busy day.It was a glorious autum day down here, so dh and boy came with me to my site meeting on teh edge of dartmoor, they went off for a walk with boy in backpcak while i looked at script and set model and talked to show director, only 2 weeks till I'll be riging lights and calling Cues again, havn;t done any paid work since July, eek.
Spent teh afternoon at home, bit of gardening, striped the pear tree branches that overhang our garden, did our apple trees yesterday, now have a mountain of fruit to process.
Got boy to do some colouring, made a card for friend new baby, boy played with dough left over from Dhs apple pie baking, had a bouncing on teh big bed session... I'm knacjered now.
We think it is HF&M, but not as bad overall as last time, tho the rash on his genitals is far worse( poor litttle chap is rather sore down below) don;t think I'll bother teh Dr with him tho as nowt to be done but let him ride it out. Have switched to dizzy nappies to help keep him cooler.

OP posts:
Frizombie · 21/10/2007 20:53

Uni, sounds like a lovely day It's been so nice and sunny today, I love a crisp autumn day
Glad ds isn't too bad. I've just pulled dd2's top back down in bed, and she has a rash on her belly, she had her rubella jab on Sat, so thinking its that hope nursery ok to take her tomorrow.....
Yes I did say bed we got our friends bed today! and after 3 put back in's, dd2 is now asleep in it! although she's just had a halfwake with flailing arms, I've put her head butted upto the headboard, as she likes to sleep with something on the top of her head so hopefully she'll be ok with all that space now although what time she'll be getting up
