Oh Astro, they are FAB! He looks like a Kid from Fame. LOL.

Astrophe · 06/10/2007 22:55

Fame?

laundrylover · 06/10/2007 23:05

Did you not atch Fame when you were a kid?? Academy for the performing arts? Leroy?

Oh I forget that you are young and australian so maybe you didn't -sorry! Basically it was legwarmers and dancing in the 80s.

Astrophe · 06/10/2007 23:09

sounds brilliant!

laundrylover · 06/10/2007 23:12

Do you not know the song? Fame, I'm gonna live forever, I'm gonna learn how to fly!??

Will have to find you a link woman....

laundrylover · 06/10/2007 23:17

www.amazon.co.uk/Kids-Fame/dp/B00000G5WJ

Try this Astro and check out Leroy (or is it your DS??) at the back!!

Astrophe · 06/10/2007 23:32

LOL! Yes thats him! I do know that song, but didn't know the background...I do remember the 80s though [pouts], I had a hypercolour tee shirt, frizzy hair, LEG WARMERS (Fluro green), the works!

I'm off to bed - feeling guilty for having spent another £17 on flames site on more training pants and another swaddlebees nappy. Also more baby legs on ebay!

Frizombie · 07/10/2007 22:01

for the spending with Flame though keeps her in business
Boy looks great Astro, and your description of you in the 80's sounds fab too, have amazing mental picky of you now I of course looked nothing of the sort

Head in a spin here, far to much to do getting the shop up and running here, you must all come and visit it, once we're up and running

LL I am so not broody dh had his post op checkup last Thurs, now has his 2 bottles to fill with samples, we should have the all clear just before xmas, fingers x'd.

Astrophe · 07/10/2007 22:24

I am a bit broody! I keep thinking "how would we rearrange our travel plans if I were to fall pregnat now...?" Madness! I would like to have another when DS is about 3 1/2, and then another following that...or so I says now! I was broody today as I cuddled my friends beautiful week old baby! Aaah! But then, on the other hand, I feel happy that I have no imenent arrivals, that I'm not puking, and that I can spend lots of time with DS and DD until they are a bit bigger.

LL, I have fallen off the slimming wagon - please motivate me. Haven't lost for a few weeks now (but haven't gained, and haven't been going to gym).

Friz, do you know flame in RL?

Hi Uni! Hi DTM! (BTW - about to expose my gross ignorance, but who is DT? )

Frizombie · 08/10/2007 08:37

AStro, yes I do! we've met twice now, once at her home town Bournemouth and once at CSWS's fabulous house in the Hertfordshire Countryside, when CSWS held a feb thread meetup and drink lots and we all slid down CSWS's dd's slide, from her amazing playhouse (the one that had a thread to itself last year if you remember?)

at your broodyness. How much longer do you have here now? will we have chance to squeeze another meet in before you have to go? we're you guys planning on going back via several countries?

Gotta go to work now actually physically off to the shop, this may take some getting used to! lots of prep to do before all the shelves arrive tomorrow!

Frizombie · 08/10/2007 21:45

So today I finished fitting the plastic bits into the slat wall, and cleaned it all down, hoovered floor, unpacked the phone and put onto charge,as apparently it needs 24hrs unpacked and fired up the stereo and brought a door mat and material for the window displays, along with lots of back at home phone orders, chasing things for delivery etc, all coming together, will be one hell of a mad final push though, particularly as I have the kids wed, and dh is working sat and sun, so I have them then also, so that's 3 days to get ready for opening and hardly any stock in shop yet, and nothign being delivered to put it on until tomorrow!! ahem......

Hope your all having fun?

laundrylover · 09/10/2007 09:54

Friz, your message takes me back to when we were opening up our little garden centre - mad rush to get stock in and everything looking just right. Are you having an opening bash? It's all very exciting!!!

Off to London tomorrow to meet with 4 clients and drum up some trade. Our bathroom is nearly finshed so DP is having to abandon our renovations and do work for other people for a couple of months. I'm hoping he can get our bedroom done before Xmas though.

Well, my computer screen is adorned with post it notes of things to do today before 2.45pm so better make a start.....maybe a bit of e-bay browsing first though whilst I finish my cup of tea!! I want a new dining room table.....

Frizombie · 09/10/2007 23:04

lol did you actually get any work done

It's mad LL, yep we are having an opening do, 27th Oct, we're hoping to be open by next mon, but tbh it's looking like Thur now, as let down today by till delivery (won't name and shame as usually good) the blinking shop fitting co, who have been late with everything.....missing tegometal shelves for magazines, half the window display, and a shops worth of hooks all promised for today, now Thur......grrrrr. There's no way, with dh working away (York) this weekend, that I'll get it all done Thur and Fri, particularly as they won't delivery till Thur afternoon you can bet your ass between 4-5........I'll send you all proper invites to the opening, once we get underway for the trial week and a bit......iron out those creases I hope! Still the stereo works! and broadband will be on soon.....

Hope your all doing great, I'm off to bed, so tired, only just stopped doing orders to phone thru tomorrow, still it won't be this mad always.

laundrylover · 09/10/2007 23:21

Friz, you're doing great woman - it'll all be worth it in the endwhen you are millionaires.

Frizombie · 10/10/2007 21:41

I wish, finger's x'd we can at least make a living out of it, the shop fitters are getting better and better more on that tomorrow.......have spent 'day off' on phone to various distributors, whilst trying to entertain dd2 this am, and dd1 too, after pre school
Got told off at swimming, for being 10 mins late, along with two other mums......got there in time, then realised swimsuit missing for me legged it home, found suit on floor by door, dd2 had been helping me get my bag onto the buggy earlier and I thought I'd checked I'd got the suit, but obviously not , pegged it back and was late
Hope you've all had better/more fun days than me!

Astrophe · 10/10/2007 22:25

ah Friz, I hate getting told off like that, it really ruins you day doesn't it. I got told off for being late to nursery (when dd was in 2-3s room - now she is in 3-5s and they are soooo lovely). You are a guru - I will be begging you for tips one day when I start a business myself. Hang in there.

Hi all

UniSarah · 10/10/2007 22:35

Home again. was a long way. exeter-buxton -NW end of hadrians wall, all the way across to newcastle - Teeside - durham, teeside - cotswolds- south Glous- exeter. 5 nights, 3 beds. one tired little boy who had 2 very late nights.
One chelidh with unicycles. 2 clebration meals with many many friends ( and their kids). one set of grandparents, one great gran, lots of cups of tea and slices of cake and blackberries. Boy was so zonked on eth night he was baby sat ( with friend s 2 kids) the teen age baby sitter got him back to sleep when he woke up and shouted! just as well as we were 30 min drive away and had no mobile signal any way :-)
Good luck with teh shop opening friz. don;t do it O'broody Astro. HI and hug to DTM.

OP posts:
Astrophe · 10/10/2007 22:50

Buxton is so close to us!!! Shoulda dropped in, as if you wern't busy enough! Glad you had a good time.

Don't worry, I wont do it!

Frizombie · 10/10/2007 22:52

Blinkin Eck Uni, you've gone some there hats off to you for doing that lot in one go (this is where Astro say's pah that's nothing, where I come from )

Astro, Guru, hardly, more stumbling through

UniSarah · 11/10/2007 19:52

I knew it was pretty close to some of you, but we stopped over with dhs good friend and ex memeber of teh gang of 3 from work a few years back. meant he and she could catch up on supercomputer industry gossip while me and her bloke sank a large ammount of wine and chatted about slightly less geeky stuff.

do you think its worth keeping this tread going... or shall we all go and gate crash the Feb 06 crew, might be less of an obvious place for DTMs ex to go looking for her.
your thoughts please.

Friz. Sorry your little madam is being such a little madam right outside your new shop. Boy decided he was going to lie down in middle of a road yesterday. didn't want to walk any more, or sit in buggy, he wanted to go night night right here thank you very much.

OP posts:
Frizombie · 11/10/2007 22:14

we'll you've already crashed it!! lol and of course everyone else is welcome, although sometimes it moves very fast....

Astrophe · 11/10/2007 23:41

ah no I can't keep up with fast moving threads! Could we have a new thread and call it a sneaky name?

Frizombie · 12/10/2007 22:51

Uni? Astro if you're about, read the feb thread for my post re dd2 today am about it and for her. If you don't read it, post so on here and I'll get around to copy and pasting it.

Astrophe · 12/10/2007 23:01

I read Friz - I would feel very sad and angry about that too. Poor DD2! Is the boy prone to doing this type of thing? ie is there likely to be a repeat?

Went to the new Westfield Derby yesterday. Wow. Enormous. It was so packed I had to stop and take DD aside and brief her on what to do if she got lost. She didn't thankfully! Its fab though - big new Debenhams, M&S, Next and H&M (which Derby did not previously have). No Gap though . Been a long time coming, the shopping here has been hopeless until now. Actually its all so slick and shiny that is seems rather out of place in dear ol' Derby!

I went back to the gym today - first time in about 4 weeks. Hurrah! I went back to my fave class and think I will keep going to that one, even though it is on a non-nursery day (so have to put both kids in creche, instead of just ds) - might end up changing her days.

Heading up to Manchester with a bunch of gals from my church to Nothern Womens' Christain convention - have never been before so it will be interesting and hopefully encouraging. DH is taking kids to a birthday party!

Have great weekends everyone.
x

DavidTennantsMistress · 12/10/2007 23:07

astrophe - i'm shocked you don't know who DT! is? OMG woman! dr who lol.

uni - honestly don't change threads due to my idiot H. this name is not one he'd associate with me so unless he read each post i'd done he'd not work it out (and only then would by seeing what i'd said/my typing! lol) but I don't feel at this stage he's reading them - hes' too busy reading about my life on facebook! hmm. must add about the lifeguard I was eyeing up/getting eyed up by the other day! lol.

boys' broken my old specs so have new ones. now H laughed at them tosser! lol.

anyhow i'll be sparce again on this thread my net will be cut off tomorrow (well i'll have the net but until I have a laptop/computer i'll be restricted to the intrenet cafe again so will pop in when I can (read that as usuless H has DS! lol)

you musten't go thou - and if u do soemone must tell me so I can still find you all! lol.

ooh boy's learnt to play football this week, blow kisses and also says ready! lo.l. (whilst playing footie! lol) had a fabby time chasing the birds and squirrels as well around our park. I didn't was knackered by the end of it!
