Getting cooker on e-bay! It's a whole new world!! Taps are very cheap too so watching a funky set....

Put the heating on to dry clothes as obviously the rain has now reached biblical proportions and will not end until 40 days have passed! Was freezing....now I'm bloody boiling!!!

Tilly went to a pre school taster session yesterday but DP and I got the time wrong and she was late. She had a sticker on saying Matilda - how very posh!

Frizbe · 04/07/2007 21:05

Coor its odd when they use their proper names isn't it!! poor old dd2 spends all her time being called 'ickle noo' here mind you I still call my mates 9 year old 'Shroom' she used to be ickle shroom too...... but her parents do to, so its not so bad.....

In fact those same friends got their range cooker from ebay and its fab so hope yours is as good?

Might check out the taps, I was looking at glass sinks on there a while back, but we've decided to replace the whole ensuite and go white (after I broke the sink with a bottle landing on it ) its a beigey colour at the mo and you can't get a sink anywhere for it

Fingers x'd the rain does stop, its saying it will for tomorrow, so if it does we're off to the Zoo!!

laundrylover · 05/07/2007 10:48

Good excuse to go white I'd say Friz. Suites are pretty cheap anyway. We now have a bath ordered, sink bought, shower and screen in garage...toilet-to-go from B and Q will do for me -you only use it for one thing IMO! I think those glass sinks look good but would get splash marks all the time - wouldn't suit my lax cleaning routine.

So the weather might be better tomorrow eh? Yeah right!

Good luck with your zoo plans....we have a picnic party on Sat but may well be in our neighbours house at thos rate.

Frizbe · 05/07/2007 18:45

well we got in and out the Zoo without rain, just!!! started as we were loading kids back into car at 3.15ish!! everyone loved it, both dd's rated giraffes as the best thing there although dd1 now has a pink hang round your neck monkey

Dh is missing in action tonight....stuck in traffic for over an hour 8miles from M1 in warks....its another 1.5hrs to his van and another 3/4 of an hour home should he ever start moving........

UniSarah · 05/07/2007 20:44

helloooo- flying visit. I've been up to my knees in mud again today and yesterday. been driving forklifts, loading and unloading trucks, built a stage, been pulled off building a lighting rig as the tent was in danger of collapsing, pulling up pegs, poles falling over,50cm stakes pulling out the ground etc- that messed up our build schedule A LOT.
Bilding another festival tomorrow, another tent but a ridgid frame this time as on tarmac so less likley to collapse if the wind gets up.
I've been put on site for the festival closest to home for the weekend so I have a chance of popping home for boys bed time B-feed on 2 out of 3 nights. Considerate production manager.
I think it won't be loong before boy drops teh bed time feed, but hes not quite there and I don't want to force him.

Frizbe · 05/07/2007 21:30

Uni that's a very nice production manager out of interest male or female?
Hope you have an ok weekend of it lighting in the rain

Frizbe · 06/07/2007 15:00

Soo eventful is day here I think? dh off work, as dd1 had preschool eye test this afternoon, and someone has to pick up ds, so I voted it be him, so off he's gone with dd2 this afternoon, whilst I've been to hospital with dd1, who thankfully managed not to scream the place down, when they put the eyedrops in, now looks like she's taken lots of drugs, with her hugely dilated pupils
So I managed gym this am (which alarmingly had cbeebies on tv), and then went into dentist to see if I could get a repeat perscription, and they snuck me in between appts poked around a bit more, said brush you teeth better (the cheek of it, I use a bleeding elecky brush as it is ) and once I finished the anti b's to just take normal painkillers and to go back when its my appt in two weeksso great that they snuck me in, but boo for no more drugs and no filling yet.

UniSarah · 08/07/2007 19:00

Sing ho for teh life of a bear.
Festival going OK, bedlam yesterday with family fun ( free) day and world music night. Today is "ROCK" so its been a bunch of lovely middle class boys in black, willing to carry their own instruments and cabable of parking their cars tidily ( unlike teh worthless hippys playing last night.)
I've stuck home to put boy to bed. Hes currently in teh bath with dh.
production manager is male, no kids, no partner and in his mid to late 40s. he does however have a track record of employing full time parents as part time technicians. 2 of us on this local show, as one of teh crew boys has a 4 wk old son and will be full time dad when his missus returns to work.

Will try and catch up with you after tomorrow. I have one get out/ strike tonight and another tomorrow. Mucho much forklift driving I expect.

Frizbe · 08/07/2007 20:04

Oh well good on him then Uni nice to have an employeer on your side
Glad your enjoying today better.

I'll not be around for the rest of the week girls, off down south for a few days in a caravan courtesy of my folkes booking one with enough room for our little bunch too should get to meet up with Flame too, so will come back and advise she's not a hairy trucker no doubt
Catch you all soon

Oh and Astro (shouts) isn't it about time you're back on line?

laundrylover · 09/07/2007 12:20

Friz, have a lovely time down south if you've not gone already - say hi to Flame from me and snuggle a tie-dye nappy for me.
Just spent the morning arguing with DP - he's so f'ing useless. I attempted to write a week planner so we both know what we are up to but he refused to join in. Sometimes I just want to walk out the door but I'm sure the effort amd organisation invloved would be far too much for DP to handle.

So far we have no plumber or sparks booked for the week I am in Scotland so the possibility of getting the bathroom done is looking remote.

ow82 · 10/07/2007 14:05

hi all, quick stop in from me, we're doing well. Joey is getting big, saying words now and generally being a gremlin! lol. I've just found out - about 10 days ago, we're expecting a number 2 - around the beginning of march I think again - but you know DS was early and impatient so will be somewhen around the same sort of time I think as his 2nd b'day.

good to see all of you guys are chatty - I will keep up I must keep up! lol. have had a bit of a MN break/computer crashed etc lots of RL things/drama's etc going on but anyhow! lol.

how are all of you girls?

laundrylover · 10/07/2007 14:42

That you Munz???
Congrats on number 2 - brace yourself!!

ow82 · 10/07/2007 14:57

yup LL tis me but shh! lol. I am fully bracing myself! lol. mum's already on stand by for a minute's notice!

UniSarah · 11/07/2007 21:15

Argh- RL too busy for words. Monday was EPIC. inlaws decend tomorrow.. Arrrrrgh.

laundrylover · 12/07/2007 11:45

deep breaths Uni.
Kiah has fed to sleep on my knee but has a bare bum. Need to locate a towel and transfer to cot without waking up....cup of tea calls but also the window cleaners eventally did ours yesterday and now I can see the years of dirt on the inside. Feel a housework binge coming on!!!!!! Look out for that blue moon tonight girls.

UniSarah · 13/07/2007 20:51

Did you get kiah into bed ok?

ins laws have gone. deep breath exhaled.
I was very rude and went to bed yoestersay afternoon while they were here while boy was naping. I was tired, I'm still catching up from teh wekend, I've been having a nap most afternoons this week.

Did also take them and boy out to feed ducks, get and ice cream and go to a playground, so I think they had a good afternoon. Boy was fantastic, no wobbles about the GPs at all, he played nicely with them ( I think) , he was knackered by teh time they left at 10.30 this morning. We went to mum and tots and he was grumpy and just wanted to sit on my knee being cuddled. So thats what I did for him.

congrats Munz, your mad, but congrats any way.

laundrylover · 13/07/2007 21:16

No she woke up. But she went to sleep in the buggy later when I nipped out for a few errands and slept for an hour and a half and I scrubbed the old leaded window in our bedroom with a toothpaste and took 60 years of black filth off! Yuk. Looks amazing though so may tackle the bathroom ones which aren't half as bad.

Good for you taking afternoon naps - GPs are there to see the boy, not you.

Spent the day with a basket of wet nappies from yesterday...went to friend's for lunch and stuck them in her drier, then up to my Mum's to put round the Rayburn overnight. Oh, when will it stop????

Kiah wee'd on my knee today so now have wee smelling jeans to add to the growing pile of laundry....may have to change my MN name soon.

UniSarah · 14/07/2007 14:06

Toothpaste! erm OK, if it works. I've had a morning of doing jobs round teh house while boy and Dh went to dads play group. Boy is now asleep and Dh has gone to play cricket, his first call up to teh 2nds this season- what a surprise its teh first w/end of teh school holdays. I OUGHT to be doing my tax return, but I';mn not.

OP posts:
laundrylover · 14/07/2007 20:59

I meant a toothbrush!!! I proof read that and didn't notice - I'm losing my marbles....

DP is plodding thru our tax returns too - we had a rent payment from our other house in March so there's a whole new section to tackle.

Guess you'll be a single mum again now the cricket's started.

Frizbe · 15/07/2007 13:05

Hi girls

Munz Congrats, flame told me on Wed whilst we were in the soft play and I had to check I'd heard her right yay!! ooh I wonder what flavour???? mmmm Boy again I think. (which will make life loads easier as you already have the clothes!)

LL, oopse re the weeeeeeeee, yep it is raining rather a lot up here isn't it? have you sorted your dh out yet? what bit of the window did you use the toothpaste on then? leaded bits? (intrigued)

Uni/LL rather you than me doing the tax returns, that's what I pay the accountant for, so I don't balls it all up!!

In fact girls, I've seen a job that I'm going to apply for prob won't get it, but the experience of doing it all again should be good. With Homestart, and if I was lucky enough to get it, dh will pack up building and look after the girls (remind me to get him some cooking lessons) and then he can concentrate on our other business too! quite fancy the job though, be nice to be doing something worthwhile, rather than just money creating, you know?

ow82 · 15/07/2007 13:11

hiya friz tis true- yes a boy again I think it will be, DH keeps suggesting girl and twins but no chance! lol. this will be a nice good boy who will sleep for 23 hours out of the day when NB and 20 hours p/d there after! - like that ever happens! lol. good luck with teh job if you can do it, would be fab.

ll_I was doing the ironing last night- DS has more than DH and I put together! lol - how do those of u with 2 cope with 2 babies/children's ironing?

anyhow hope everyone's else is OK - I cna't be the only one surly with a no 2 here since our's have been born?

UniSarah · 15/07/2007 19:23

Munz your doing it wrong. Babies do not have ironing. mums do mums ironing and dads do dads ironing. When children are big enough to do their own ironing they may wear clothes that require ironing, before that they are allowed to look as rumpled and creased as they like. they are children and will look rumpled with in minutes of donning even the most imaculately ironed clothes anyway.

OP posts:
ow82 · 15/07/2007 19:26
  • I have just worked out if you fold as soon as it comes out of the dryer it doens't need ironig! lol.
Frizbe · 15/07/2007 20:47

I can't believe your ironing everything Munz, Uni has the right theory there, only really badly creased things get ironed here and that goes for all of us!

ow82 · 15/07/2007 20:47

ah no not jimjams or vests - I used to but that's just silly! lol.
