LL mail me your address again as I have a copy of the paper for you!

Smiley, yep do enjoy it but it is very concentrated work, ie full on for the period the event is on, and quite a bit of prep too, so always entails late nights the week before, yawn. Means I can work around the girls though, so that's good!

Uni, fair do, as we say up 'ere!

Just had a call to say my new tent is in stock, so off to pick it up, hurrah!! now to figure how it goes up

Hope you all have good days, twisting tots here this afternoon I think. Trying not to go in the garden as we hav an ickle baby blackbird hopping around, his parents keep bringing him food, awwwww, he's next to the cat scarer, so should be ok!

Astrophe · 22/05/2007 12:43

Hi all Busy weekend with Aussies guests.

Smiley, I have a paper for you too, will post tomorrow, hopefully!

SmileyC · 22/05/2007 15:22

Hi Frizbe, Astrophe.
Thanks for getting a copy of the paper Astrophe-will buy you a coffee next time we meet.
Hope everyone is ok.
Been into town with DS this am and he did not go to sleep until we were in car coming home. Managed to transfer him from car to cot without waking him! So glad cos that means I get a rest for a while; unlike yesterday!

Frizbe · 22/05/2007 18:15

Hurrah have new tent, might take a bit longer than the old one to put up initially, but once its all together it can be kept together, so looks good so far, you can wait for the assembly disaster stories next week old one is now at the tip too, so job done!

Can someone do a no rain dance for the weekend please?

So we've done twisiting tots and I too managed to get dd2 into bed aferwards without waking her, hurrah

UniSarah · 22/05/2007 20:24

I didn't even try and get boy from bike trailer to cot asleep, I locked him the garage still in trailer! with window open into garden where I was hanging out the washing and then eating my lunch. before any one acuses me of neglect ;-)
He was still asleep when i unlocked garage and took him off to the childrens centre an hour later. Wke up on the way down the hill and had his lunch in childcare while I was in a meeting.

Just popping on to say hi...been in London for a couple of days working and back to a house full of washing up and mess!!

We are going up to Scotland at 6am on Friday morning for sister's mountain top wedding on Sat...just entered full on holiday panic mode...so much to do I can't even write a list!

Anyway my very good friend is arriving late tomorrow and we are having a kid free, list tackling day on Thurs so hopefully we will be packed up by midnight. We'll have to take it in turns to squeze in between the car seats on the journey (7 hours)!!!

I'll try to catch up before we go but we are then away for a week and a bit so may be quiet from me - makes a change!

Friz, I've emailled you my address....hmmm and just told you I'm away - you'll be prime suspect if we get burgled!

Frizbe · 23/05/2007 10:01

Promise not to burgle you LL, I'll be too busy in Wales on our event!! please don't anyone burgle us either......thinking back to last bank hols, hoping neighbour no2 isn't away, as the other side are already off at the mo.......as is over the road, argh we're prime targets

Supposed to be at my aunties right now, but bloomin dh has booked a delivery for anytime today lucky mum is over this afternoon, or dd1 wouldn't make swimming if its not turned up.......

Uni, that's very good going on the sleep front for boy, you must have been very happy I was cruel this am and left dd2 shouting in her cot for an hour from 6.30-7.30 as dd1 was still asleep and if I move out of bed, she always wakes up, so I just have to stay put

Frizbe · 23/05/2007 10:14

PS LL have a fabulous time at the wedding sounds heavenly hope the weather is great for it.

SmileyC · 23/05/2007 13:30

Hi

LL- I agree that the wedding sounds wonderful. Hope you get all packed in time and have a resonable drive up! Have a lovely time. Whereabouts in Scotland?

Uni- Ahhhh. Sleeping in the trailer sounds co sweet!

Frizbe- We are going to Wales this w/e too- to the inlaws. They were originally coming to us but we changed things around. Which aprt of Wales are you goung to? We are going to S.E. Near Chepstow/Monmouth.

Hope everyone is enjoying this nice weather.

Right-gotta go wake DS!

Frizbe · 23/05/2007 18:17

weather is so fab, hoping it lasts the weekend!
am eating chocolate ice cream at the mo, dd2 is a picture has a mini cone stuck to her face
We're near Bridgend again Smiley, we're virtually always there for our Welsh events, cause its a great site!
Won't be on again today as dh taking me out for a meal was supposed to be pics (orange 241) but cause he's running late, it'll have to be food instead

UniSarah · 23/05/2007 20:23

Food again, tragic Friz Happy war gaming. I'm uni eventing again on Saturday.

Went to see cousins wife and 7 wk old DD todqy- I'd forgoten how small they are at 7 wks and how whigey they sound. I think I prefer boy now hes a bit bigger and more interesting. we took a walk to teh park so boy could enjoy teh slide- his biggest yet,and set on a mound so had stairs not a ladder and I could scamper down next to the slide with a hand on his back. he climbed up to it all by himself 3 times and looked so pleased sliding down.

Going to be quiet round here next week with so many away. Happy Hols all.

Hi. Just wanted to call in and say hello before bed!
Frizbe/Uni-Sounds like you both have packed weekends! Hope you both have fun!

Frizbe · 24/05/2007 09:48

Happy Cycling Uni

n its not war gaming that's lots of dodgy blokes with little figures around a table we're lots of mad folkes running around a wood hitting each other with weapons occassionally and talking, which involves far more social interaction that the former!! LARP if you must, far more entertaining (acting for the masses! n belive me we have a fair few lovvies come along)

Hope you got good sleep Smiley

LL, Astro, Caddy, Munz, Ski and anyone else out there, have a fabby weekend, see you next week!

SmileyC · 24/05/2007 12:26

Friz- I tried to look at your link about your job, but it didn't work. Maybe you could try again another day so I can have a nosey. I'm curious!

laundrylover · 24/05/2007 12:35

Yeah Friz, do that link again please.

What busy girls we all are this weekend/week eh?

Uni, you reminded me that the girls fell asleep in the bike trailer last Sunday, Tilly leaning on Kiah and we pulled into a pub for a quiet cappucino - bliss! The girls hold hands in the trailer and look so sweet...

Back to two legs this week though as there is no way the trailer will fit in the car!! Not sure how anything is going to fit in actually...picked up some saris and dangly bits from a friend to decorate the sports hall for the wedding reception/ceilidh - 2 bin bags full!!! Three wheeler buggy is looking doubtful but at least we have the Backpacks...can you tell I'm panicking!!!

Right off to plant out french beans and strawberries for the slugs to ruin next week.

UniSarah · 24/05/2007 19:27

LARP it is then, beg pardon.

OP posts:
Frizbe · 24/05/2007 21:53

indeed!
will re post the link next week, although web site is being re done shortly, got someone doing it for free, hurrah, something that's not on dreamweaver, so easy for me to swap stuff around on, fingers x'd anyway...

SmileyC · 25/05/2007 14:58

Huh? LARP????? Am I being dim?????

UniSarah · 25/05/2007 20:50

Live Action Role Play = LARP , not war games as i incorrectly refered to it as back a few days ago.
I get just as picky about unicycle not monocycle,A Monocycle is a very differnt beast and MUCH harder to ride , unless you are french in which case a uni is a mono and I don;t what a mono is. Confused, you will be.

SmileyC · 27/05/2007 12:25

OK. Got ya!
Hope you are all having a nice w/e.
We are in Wales, satying with inlaws for a few days.
Cheerio!

UniSarah · 29/05/2007 19:54

Bank holiday over with, now life can return to normal. Hows half term going for those with school age DCs? we had a house full at lunch time, 3 todlers and 5 parents for lunch. We JUST fitted round the table. Dh and his collegues had an extra day off today in honour of the Queens birthday.

OP posts:
Cadmum · 31/05/2007 10:47

Once again I am only here for cameo appearances. Life is just too hectic (insane) all of the time and our internet is really sub-standard. It takes hours for everything to load (unless there is a time-out feature in which case it does not load EVER!!!)

Glad to hear that you are all still here.

Not too sure what we are up to in the fall. NYC and Geneve are both still on offer and despite finding it really hard (PC for nearly IMPOSSIBLE!!) here, I am not sure that I could handle another move.

DH's deadline for the thesis looms at Sept 15 and in order to help him get it done the kids and I are off to Canada for four weeks.... We certainly cannot afford it but I guess that he needs the time to finish this off. I am sure that we will love being back with friends and family. Now if I can only figure out how I will ever get back on the plane to return....

UniSarah · 31/05/2007 15:51

Hi Cadmum. I hope you enjoy your trip home, sounds like it will be hard to return from. Best wishes for teh future and those choices that have to be made.

OP posts:
Frizbe · 31/05/2007 18:37

Hi Caddy, hope you have a fab time back home maybe you'll get chance to natter to us, if the net access is better??? and family are looking after the kids?! Hope you get a better placement when you have to move again, would you like to go back to NYC? was ok bar the hospital last time right??

Hi to everyone else, Uni sounds like you had a handsfull day!! we have ss next week, as his 2nd week off! so far managing dd1 at home from Pre School ok, she seems fairly happy to although missing her best friend.

Smiley was Wales good?where were you?

We had an ok time at work, bar the Fabreeze incident.

Took a friend with us and her 3 year old son, peed on the front seat of the car, whilst we were putting the tent up.....so on the Sat we got a bottle of Fabreeze (Tescos own version) to get rid of the stink in the car. Sat afternoon, I was just off to do a character bit, whilst friend looked after all the kids, when dh shouted 'DD2 NO' in that extreme terror kinda voice.....I look over and she's pouring Febreeze all over herself.....friend looks around and grabs it off her, dh and I have never run so fast in our lives, we both ditched what we were doing/about to do, grabbed her, ran to the standpipe and lobbed her face under it, hanging her upside down, until she stopped screaming and started spluttering at the water, whilst similtaniously yelling for a 1st aider dd2 was ok after saline administered to her eyes, we couldn't spot any sign of it in her mouth, reckon she realised once she started pouring it on her head/eyes that it wasn't for consumption that and friend grabbing it off her. Her hair smelt fresh for days, but I wouldn't recommend it.......
Poor friend disolved into tears at the other end of the site, turns out that her ds (aged 3 same as my dd1) had grabbed the bottle out of the car boot, when she went into get food.....he then took the top of it and placed it amongst the kids drinks, hence dd2 trying to drink it, he did this all in the space of about 3mins,hence he was not spotted. Needless to say he got a lecture off his mum, and I also lectured dd1, who'd watched it happen Spent ages telling poor sobbing friend it was not her fault, accidents happen, lucky we spotted it before it got any worse. Phew.

Astrophe · 31/05/2007 20:51

oh Friz!!!! I'm so glad she is ok...how are your nerves?

Caddy, good to hear from you! Don't know how you cope with all this moving, you sound like you are doing brilliantly. Will it always be this way, or just for a few years? Try for a post in Australia next, will se you there .

Well things are sort of stressful here, but nothing is actually happening yet...just the thought of DD's 3rd birthday next week, moving next Friday and going on 2 week holiday a week later...will start packing this weekend, amid baking pink birthdy cake, making pink jelly etc as requested!

Exciting news for me was that after 3 weeks of dieting.gym, have lost 3 kg (thats about 7lb for all you ye olde worlde folk)! I'm thrilled, so hoping I can keep it up, especially when we are holiday. Goal is 10-12kg.

We are planning camping at shell beach in wales at the beginning of august - anyone been there?
