Ah baby blondes is a cutie! And grumpette sounds like a little gem. It's such a lovely age isn't it?! They just keep getting better!

ravingroo all the very best of luck for ivf. It's not an easy process, and there are. I guarantees, but for those of us who have been lucky it's a whole other level of gratitude and love. I hope your journey is successful.

So....anyone thinking about trying again?! Mr stealth suggested it the other day and I almost clobbered him - I am SO not ready 😱 Although knowing we have the remaining frosties on ice makes thinking about any future stealthinis much more relaxed, timing wise.

HP07 · 17/10/2017 20:19

Good luck ravingroo.

I didn't have IVF in the end but I had a lot of factors against me. Endometriosis, low ovarian reserve and high fsh levels.

I have been thinking about a second but my feeling is that if it happens it happens and if it doesn't then I've got my little boy and he will be enough for me. We actually haven't used any contraception since he was born but because I EBF my periods only came back recently once he starting eating more solids and reducing his feeds. I guess we just wait and see what happens.

Can't believe how the babies are progressing. It's amazing watching them learn new things and grow isn't it?

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/10/2017 20:21

No to trying again. Forever grateful I have dd and I'm 44. She healthy and I think trying again higher risk of mc /an due to age and tbh I cantbare the disappoint and heart break if fet failed again

Clinic did email us asking do we want to

  1. pay for anothee year
  2. donate to childless couples
  3. donate to science
  4. let them expire naturally

We are going to do 3 to help other infertile people as would feel weird knowing a full blood sibling is somewhere to dd

Grumpelstiltskin · 17/10/2017 21:45

Such an interesting question timing-wise for me - AF appeared today for first time in 17 months!

Blondes that's a nice way of drawing a line under your 'journey' for lack of a better term, ugh ugh.

We would definitely like a sibling but like stealth absolutely not ready to get back on that treadmill and like HP so grateful to have DD already that it feels less imperative and also almost greedy, in a way, in hoping to be so lucky twice. So back to hoping for an ironidiff at some point I guess! If not, we're mid-thirties so time not necessarily against us for more IVF, but Grumpette was our only frostie and the thought of going through it all again stabbing and all... Confused Ask me again in a year!

stealthbanana · 19/10/2017 09:37

Ha. My periods still aren't back (still bfing). Quite glad they're not tbh!

Agree re stabbing - I think I'd be probably seriously considering stopping at one if I had to do all that again.

blondes that's a really wonderful thing to do in terms of donating. We will have to figure this out eventually as still have 9 frosties and all PGS tested so you'd hope the success rate in terms of implantation would be high. And there's no effing way I'm having 9 more kids! Grin

Blondeshavemorefun · 19/10/2017 09:50

9 wow. Assume that's not from one cycle is it? I was amazed to have 6 to freeze and used 2, think one didn't make defrost at 4th attempt so think have 3 left

4yrs ago uk clinic did 2 cycles at 3days as said wouldn't survive to 5

2yrs ago in Spain I had a 6day put back tho that failed

Dd was a 5

That clinic would ideally like to put embryos back at 7/10days so you really see how they form and pick the best - so think we will ask for them to culture to see how long they last iysism so they can learn from that

Also literally after giving birth I had mw doc nurse consultant and hv all tell me how fertile I was now after having ivf and can get preg naturally now the body has been kick started

I went back on the pill. After 11yrs seems weird but as I said I'm forever grateful to have dd and don't want to risk getting preg and have a mc due to age etc

My friend was told never have kids naturally. Had ivf and has 13yr twins but also has almost 11yr

She popped along when twins were think 11mths and got preg. She was stunned

So never say never and think you must stab to get preg iyswim

stealthbanana · 19/10/2017 10:54

Yes all from one (freeze all) cycle. I had 24 day 5 embryos - 4 weren't good enough to freeze, and I sent the 20 remaining for genetic testing and half were abnormal so I was left with 10. First FET worked. I have severe PCOS & don't ovulate naturally though so that's why I have so many eggs - and also why I needed IVF! (My cycle was meant to be an iui cycle but I over responded understatement of the century so they converted it to an ivf cycle midway through.)

Blondeshavemorefun · 19/10/2017 14:37

wow at 24, tho guess you are a lot younger then me

and amazing first fet worked :)

stealthbanana · 19/10/2017 19:42

Well it's the issue with PCOS - lots of eggs, but no way of getting them out naturally! They collected 37 eggs at ET - I had horrible (although technically mild) ohss- had to take a week off work.

Yes we were very lucky with the first go. Lucky all around really. I feel so grateful for it all.

Blondeshavemorefun · 19/10/2017 21:30

Sounds painful but gives you an amazing amount of chances. Tho hopefully next fet will work first time as well

stealthbanana · 21/10/2017 16:32

Absolutely. Am not complaining - am well aware I've won the infertility sweepstakes (the lottery no one wants to be in, but still!).

Blueroses99 · 31/10/2017 19:00

Hi ladies, lovely to hear how well the babies are getting on 😍

I'm in the 'never again' mindset!!

HP07 · 31/10/2017 20:00

So ladies, I have some news. I hope I don’t upset anyone but I wanted to let you all know that I’m expecting number 2! It’s really early days and only a handful of people know. After everything we went through to conceive baby HP this is like a bolt out of the blue. It’s amazing and not something we thought we would be lucky enough to experience again. I’m still breastfeeding too although my cycle came back when he was about 9 months old. We are really happy. I’m so glad I had you guys throughout my first pregnancy and I’m really hoping this one will be a lot easier and less stressful. So far so good as I had continual brown spotting at this point last time and at the moment all seems ok.

Blueroses99 · 01/11/2017 03:31

Amazing news HP, I'm so pleased for you Flowers

stealthbanana · 01/11/2017 06:32

Wow that's amazing news hp! Congrats! Hope you're feeling ok.

Grumpelstiltskin · 01/11/2017 09:38

Aw, how wonderful, HP! Great news. And so lovely of you to let us know. Wishing you a calm and healthy pregnancy xxx

Blondeshavemorefun · 02/11/2017 16:05

fab news and they do say once the body has the preg hormone and kick starts the body, that many get preg naturally months after as a surprise

blue2014 · 04/11/2017 16:40

Congrats HP Smile wow, how you feeling?

Lovely updates from everyone too 😊

Bluelet will be 1 in early Dec. He’s amazing, funny and smart and beautiful and I still feel stunned a clinic made him for me

Still Bf though and co sleeping. So yeah Blueroses, I’m of the “never again” mindset too Grin I’m actually having the coil fitted
Next week

Thanks everyone. I’m feeling ok, just a bit nauseous but not too bad. I had a private early scan on Saturday and everything looks great and baby has a HR of 132bpm. I’ve also had my booking in appointment with the midwife already, which is really early.

ruthieruthuk · 14/11/2017 20:53

Just seen this thread and checking in.

I was told I had partially blocked tubes and that I had less than a 10% chance of conceiving naturally.

We did a round of IVF which failed then I found out the following month I had conceived naturally.

We tried some time after having Dylan for a sibling, no joy, so we took on a FET and during the down reg stage I found out I was pregnant!

Have now got a 3rd and 4th child, all boys and all natural conceptions, even though I was told I could barely conceive!

Hope u don’t mind me posting but just think it’s incredible how things have turned out, I still remember leaving the clinic after the appointment in floods of tears thinking I was never going to have children of my own and now I have four!

loopylou1984 · 22/11/2017 09:40

I don’t get much chance tiheck in now a days but have just seen HPs news!!! Congratulations! That’s amazing. Hope you’re feeling ok and baby 1 is not giving you a hard time if you’re feeling rough with baby 2!

My twins are 9.5 months old now. Where’s that time gone?

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/11/2017 12:28

I know. It’s scary. My backwards crawling monster is 8mths next week

HP07 · 22/11/2017 18:41

Yes thanks baby HP is a really good boy and is pretty easy going so I don’t get too much trouble from him. I’m feeling a bit tired today though. I had a small bleed yesterday am so I have another scan book in at epau tomorrow morning. I’m hoping all is fine especially since I’ve been through all this before with my last pregnancy and all worked out well but I know that every pregnancy is different. Just staying positive for now.

Blueroses99 · 25/11/2017 23:54

Hope all is ok HP?

Blondeshavemorefun · 26/11/2017 04:52

Hopes scan reassured you all ok with bubs x
