Hmmm, hope it's not too long a title!

Anyone else watching Top Gear? - it's sooooo funny PMSL

EAH - I think J gets bored very easily too - he's so advanced . Still can't upload the bloody pictures onto my profile. Have emailed MN Towers to see if they can help. It'd nothing to do with the size so I think it must be a site error.

Come on 2Happy - what's the new thread??

DH has so far decided that in addition to laying my path he's going to: returf the lawn as well (why?), re-edge the entire front lawn (obviously once the re-turfing has been completed!!), lay railway sleepers in the back garden as a 'feature' (nice) and extend the back garden patio. FFS - all I want is a simple path in my front garden!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just keep nodding and saying 'Mmmm', he'll get bored soon....

ellieandhattie · 04/03/2007 20:35

wilkie did a little bit but my iron isnt heating up properly he he (well did say I needed a new one a few weeks ago just couldnt be bothered to spend money on such a boring thing!)

We have top gear on been half listening to it. Garden plan sounds elaborate sort of thing I say to my dad and before I know it hes sketched a plan measured up and got a price for materials, although he is rather fab and does the work really quickly he did all our decking whilst we were on holiday last year love my dad lots !!!

wilkie50 · 04/03/2007 20:37

Trouble is - [Wilkie whispers] DH isn't that brilliant but he THINKS he is. Bless him. Have visions of a mud heap for a front garden!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ellieandhattie · 04/03/2007 20:37

oh and obviously all the Jan babies will be much more advanced than any other months!!!

wilkie50 · 04/03/2007 20:38

Of course!

ellieandhattie · 04/03/2007 20:38

mmmnn let hm keep talking he may just talk himself out of doing it (although not your path out the front thats a must have)

wilkie50 · 04/03/2007 20:39

BTW - buy an Asda iron, £5 and fab. If it breaks in 6 months they are so cheap you can just replace them. DOn't bother spending good money on something so boring - save it for chocolate

wilkie50 · 04/03/2007 20:40

OOps, x posts.

He is still chuntering - he hasn't noticed that I'm not even responding anymore...

ellieandhattie · 04/03/2007 20:44

just nod now and again he'll never notice you aren't listening.

You've just reminded me that I bought a huge bag of choc buttons for Ellie think I may have to get them out and check they taste ok

vinorouge · 04/03/2007 20:44

EAH your dad does sound great !!!!

We have Topgear on too, has made me laugh tonight

Wilkie my friend has railway sleepers as 'feature' in her garden adn they do look cool. They are the edge of her flower bed which has a braeburn apple tree in it, i did wonder how many apples she was hoping to get from it. think that was a 'feature' too!Hopefully if you get new turf it will be more successful than my new turf last summer that never grew properly and is lower than rest of garden cos we laid it wrong.....our garden is a mess at the mo as 2 parts of the fence blew down when it was v windy the other month. Quite when it'll get fixed I don't know

Ellen tends to have a couple of hours sleep in the morning and then only doze in the afternoon/evening. My attempts to have an afternoon nap never work out. It was 7pm before I remembered today...oops.

vinorouge · 04/03/2007 20:45

Will there be any left for Ellie ?

wilkie50 · 04/03/2007 20:45

Ooooo, you lucky thing - definitely check that they are OK, you don't want to be feeding her chocolate that doesn't taste right

Right, am off to bath the boy and put him to bed...

wilkie50 · 04/03/2007 20:47

[one last check before I really do go...]

Vino - trust me, it ISN'T happening! He always does this, talks about what he is going to do and then gets far too busy being booked up with lessons so said project either gets a) not started or b)started and not finished!!

ellieandhattie · 04/03/2007 20:47

My dad is fab he is a builder by trade but can do plumbing, electrics, tiling, mechanic etc which is great as dh is about as good as a chocolate teapot.

The only thing is that I think my mum gets fed up that I am always borrowing him for a small job that tends to take a day or two but because dd's here he tends to linger after the job finished to play with them

ellieandhattie · 04/03/2007 20:49

Must go soon but x post after all this rapid convo - chocolate doesnt taste quite right so may have to have some more and buy ellie some different chocolate tomorrow

vinorouge · 04/03/2007 20:57

I'm going now too just tried to add pic of Ellen to profile but it wouldn't work so maybe there is prob with site. Will try again tomorrow.

RGee · 05/03/2007 07:52

Blimey! I go away for a day and it takes me all morning to catch up. Gardens, chocolate, ironing etc. Oh, the life of a MN

Hope you all have a good week. Anything exciting planned?

UD - hope the jabs go well today. I want to know what time your appointment actually turns out to be. I told the nurse I might cry when lo got her jabs and she asked if I was a first time mum. Wonder how she knew! Pippa slept most of theday afterwards, so fingers crossed for you.

2Happy - list correct for me. I'm well impressed you managed to keep it so accurate. Looking forward to the new thread!

Have a good day!

theUrbanDryad · 05/03/2007 09:34

morning all! last night wasn't too bad, only up twice, but had a massive poo explosion this morning! there was nothing for it but to change all his clothes and give him a bath!! messy boy!

EAH - hope ellie's buttons were ok after all!
Wilkie - how was your night? is your garden a mud heap yet??!

theUrbanDryad · 05/03/2007 09:34

wilkie50 · 05/03/2007 10:19

Morning all.

UD - we had a poo explosion too this morning! I actually gagged it was that bad - think we can safetly say the SMA is now out of his system!!!!! Aptamil poos are bright yellow and smell of sour milk. Mmmm, just what I needed at 7am.

Had a BRILLIANT night - went down at 9pm, up once at 3am, then back to sleep until 7am.

EAH - chuck us a chocolate button mate.

Lizz - are you the bra oracle??? Can't remember from the ante-natal thread (remember those days??). If so, when should I get remeasured? My maternity bra is a little saggy but my pre-pregnancy bra is too small.

theUrbanDryad · 05/03/2007 10:32

wilkie - i was quite proud of the sheer volume Zac managed to get out this morning! it was literally overflowing from his nappy onto his sleepsuit, poor little chap.

i'm trying new routines today, as i think we have the evenings pretty much down pat, i'm going to try and get him into nap routines for the daytimes. so now he sleeps from 8pm-8am (in theory) and then from 10-12 and then from 2-4 (in theory). won't be able to implement it fully today as he has his jabs at 2:16 (and not a minute later!) but just knowing what i'm trying for makes me feel more in control!

2Happy · 05/03/2007 11:03

We had a poo explosion this am too. Sadly it ws ds1 tho, and was before 6am and he refused to go back to sleep after and i'd been up with ds2 until 2am so i am knckered. luckily mil and pil arranged to hve ds1 today, so all i have to do is get ds2 to sleep, then i can nap (and ignore the ironing, hoovering, cooking, shopping that needs doing...).
also had fun this am, decided to give ds2 bath before hv came to weigh him (10lb 14, that's 3lb in a month!!! ). ds1 decided to help....by pulling out the plug of the baby bath and flooding the bathroom. so i had one wet, cold, crying baby; one insanely giggling toddler; one flooded bathroom; and in laws and hv about to arrive. gach!!
thanks for the list updates, keep them coming but i can't possibly let you know wht the thread title will be and spoil the surprise

2happy we're all in anticipation of what the new threat title will be!

Ellen didn't go down to sleep until after 12 last night just crying and crying I knew she was hungry but was trying to kid myself she wasn't cos didn't want to feed on my sore side....felt really bad when she had a big feed before finally drifting off and I'd really anoyed DH who snapped at me - very unlike him. Fed again at 3 and 5.45 so not much sleep for me then had to be awake to rng docs at 8. Doc thinks I have infection in boob so got antibiotics for that and thrush treament for me and Ellen plus the good old pill to top it all off. Never had 4 prescriptions at once before !! Enjoyed flashing my card to get them all for free hee hee

Doc has just rung how annoying they have issued one of my prescriptions in Ellen's name so got to collect new one then take to Boots and get it reissued. What a palava. Doc did have a cold though so I will let her off

Shimmer · 05/03/2007 12:07

2happy - freddie was born 8/1, not 15th

We've had a couple of occasions now when F's explosive poos have seeped out of the side of his nappy and got all over his clothes. Urggggghhh!!!! Wilkie I've gagged quite a few times at what comes out of my LOs bottom. DP thinks its hilarious of course! Glad to hear you had such a good night

UD I really found structuring Freddie's daytime naps helped me loads. Are you planning to wake him up to feed at all bewteen 8pm and 8am?? Or just see what time he wakes himself? He can't go the whole 12 hours yet can he?

theUrbanDryad · 05/03/2007 12:15

he wakes me up for feeds in the night, think it varies a bit. i'm also planning to "cluster feed" from 4pm onwards to help him go longer in the night.
