Hey all!

I'm here on my new laptop.

No, I haven't won the lottery, just knocked a load of boxes onto my old laptop, totally bent it, so £125 insurance excess & I have a brand new laptop.

So sorry to hear of your sad news recently Beks. Sending you lots of love xx

Off to have a proper read of all your news. Speak soon.

GreedyGecko · 11/04/2007 21:20

Unfortunately not a pink sony vaio

GreedyGecko · 11/04/2007 21:27

Oh yes! And horrible next door neighbours were evicted today.

Sorry for multiple posts, just making up for lost time!

novadandypowder · 12/04/2007 10:23

I see GG, a load of boxes just 'happened' to fall on your old lap top, hey

babyonboard · 12/04/2007 13:41

Hello all

My gosh, soooo much to catch up on, please bear with me!

Firstly massive congratulations to the nova family!!!! I saw the photos on yahoo he is so adorable. How are you coping? How is N around him? How much did he weigh? etc etc

Chacha, also, beautiful photos, how are the boys doing? How are YOU doing? lol

Hello to everyone else!!! I hope you are all well. the tots are having a rare synchronised nap so I will make some coffee and try to catch up on your news and post ours!

ChaCha · 12/04/2007 16:29

Beks - What lovely, lovely pics The one of you and the boys together is just lovely, am I right in saying T really takes after you? What handsome little chappies you've got there!! Nice to see O and R in the pics too.

BoB - What can i say? Welcome back! Looking forward to your update. Do you S.Londoners all meet regularly then? That's great if you do, wish there were more of you nearby, would be great to meet with some of you now and then.

All okay here, have made appt at hairdresser tomorrow for cut and blow dry, is £35 the norm? Haven't been to a hairdresser for ages and that was abroad. Have bought some clothes, never thought i'd wear a pair of leggings again in my life, but there you go, I love some of the tunics that are out too, good for me at moment when so between sizes. Got another few pampering treats, mission to feel on top of the world and look best i can for DH, feel like a teenager again on a Friday night - two pregnancies have left me feeling a bit...well...dumpy i suppose and this weather makes me feel good again. Anyway...ramble...ramble...

Have that 'i want to have your baby' song in my head, who sings that btw? and i have to find out which songs contains lyrics about matchsticks or something all lined up in boxes of 10??!!! It was playing during DS2's delivery - anyone?

Think i have well and truly rabbited on enough now ... off to the Cotswolds on Sunday...hurray!

ChaCha · 12/04/2007 16:30

Oh GG - forgot to say Congrats on your laptop....what a misfortune on the old one eh? He hee!

babyonboard · 13/04/2007 16:07

Hi again! I hope I am welcome back after so much faffing around/ absence.

Chacha i'm glad to hear you are well! I hope the haircut was a nice treat for you! £35 sounds reasonable, if not for the cut then for a bit of respite and adult conversation, lol! btw Z's hair seems very much like O's, curly and fair with a hint of 'wild'. Our friends keep telling us to cut O's but I couldn't bear to remove any of it, I think it's a cute look for a little guy, lol!

I still haven't managed to catch up, i'm sorry to say. It's been a while! I will try to over the weekend when DP is home.

We are all well, loving the sunshine. We have a surrogate garden atm as we have a lovely local park and have spent every sunny day out there (and a fair fortune in the cafe!). O cannot/will not learn the concept of feeding ducks. He tends to eat the bread himself, heehee.

S is doing well, she can roll from her front and back and spin around, she tends to co sleep so i'm back to that familiar feeling of little feet kicking my back at 4am. Her and O have their own little language going on, something I'm sure will only increase as they get older and plot mischief together, heehee!

I will post my birth story on yahoo if any of you are interested, please let me know.

Hello again to everyone else , I'm not ignoring you and your news , i just sooo much to catch up on so I will have to take my time to read through.

babyonboard · 13/04/2007 16:10

Oh, chacha, that song is by natasha beddingfield (a funny video!). I've currently got that 'born in the 80's' tune stuck in my head which is really irritating. Nu rave!?pah!

Rodeo · 13/04/2007 17:52

Hello!
Hello BOB! Of course you are very welcome back! You sound like you're doing fab, you make it sound very easy Don't leave it so long next time Any new pics of S? Looking forward to hearing your story!
Chacha, enjoy your day of pampering today, you deserve it! I have an irrational disliking of Natasha Bedingfield for some reason so that song really irritates me! Not sure about the other one - can you sing it for us?! Maybe post it in the chat section, someone on MN is bound to know!
Hi GG! Was just thinking you've not been on for ages, broken laptop eh? I know all about broken blooming laptops! How's your job?
I've had a friend round this afternoon with her 17 month dd, who seems to have a strange gait, she sort of walks by throwing her left leg out, and follows with a little right leg step. She also walks with straight legs, kind of a bit 'locked'. She used to 'click' when she was in the womb (like clicking fingers, very wierd!) which my friend now thinks was her hips, as they are quite clicky now. Shes been to the docs but they don't seem to think its a problem, not sure I'd be happy though, what do you guys think?
Anyway better go, Joe & Jess are destoying the sofa and have no real news! Apart from the fact Jess has developed a delightful spitting habit bye for now x

LaylaandSethsmum · 13/04/2007 22:38

Hello everyone

am so sorry i've not been on for ages , I just don't seem to get the time ( not really an excuse I know!)

It was Laylas birthday last tuesday and I was off for a week which was lovely but so much harder than going to work I have to say, i've got too used to actually being able to sit undisturbed with a cup of coffee for a while!! We went to Cariba Creek at Alton Towers which is a big swimming complex thing with flumes and lots of splashing things which she loved, S wasn't too sure he's real wuss with anything ike that!!

S has had diarrhoea all week, and awful sore bum to go with it he hasn't been ill as such though, the doc thinks it may be a temporary intolerance from when he had a virus a few weeks ago, seems to be settling now though thank god

BoB Its lovely to see you on here again its been a very long time, Congratulations btw and yes, post your birth story I like a good read!! How long did it take for you to get over the shock of the whole thing though?

Rodeo your friends little one does sound like shes got a hip problem of some sort hope it gets sorted soon.

Nova glad to hear that things are settling down now and you are enjoying G, your pics made me feel quite broody I have to say, he reminded me alot of Seth when he was newborn, Has he got a middle name?

Hello to everyone else GG, Diege Brownie, Londoner, Beks ChaCha and everyone i've forgottenxxxx

ps: Rodeo, Diege, Twinkle and anyone else , we should arrange another meet up soon , Meadowhall? Or anywhere xxx

Diege · 13/04/2007 23:26

Hellooo!! Good to read everyone's news, and sorry my posting has been a bit infreqeunt this week! Normal service will be resumed when the schools are back on Monday . Good to hear from you BOB: yes, def. post your birth story!! CHACHA: how was the pampering, and hair? Sounded v. reasonable for a cut & blow, hope you're pleased . RODEO: hmm, think I'd be a bit concerned about the hips of your friend's lo, though it may be that the 'treatment' is to wait and see until they're a bit older as the bones are still so soft and growing? My friend's dd had to wait until she was 6 before they attempted to do anything about her broken collar bone that occured during delivery, but having said that you'd think leaving it would do more harm than good??? Oh gee what do I know . L&S (who probably knows more!)yes, a meet-up again sounds really good. Can I come without children? (only joking...).
Oh and putting out first call for LONDONER...come in LONDONER...

Diege · 13/04/2007 23:27

RODEO: meant to add you have my sympathies on the spitting front...L has been a spitter since I can remember; delightful habit isn;t it

twinkle1 · 14/04/2007 07:44

Beksmum · 14/04/2007 19:28

Hi girls just a quickie from me as in the midst of a family gathering but thought I'd share some good news for a change - we all picked a horse in the Grand National and Ben picked the winner for Tom, so we are now £173 richer - hooray!!!

Hope you're all having a great weekend!!!

Will catch up properly next week and become a more frequent poster again now that the kids are back at school and hopefully things are back to normal Beks

Diege · 15/04/2007 18:17

Oh wow Beks, great news . Any plans for the spending?? You should treat yourself and family after the tough times you've all had. Hi TWINKLE! Know what you mean about holiday chaos! Will have a look at the calender and sort out some Lowry dates? Hope everyone's enjoying the sun ; t-shirt weather has certainly focused me on my lapsed slimming world diet! (she says as she polishes off dd1's smartie easter egg ).

Morning!
The weather has been lovely, hasn't it?
All is peaceful again, B & J back at school, this morning went quite well and they were early They were usually alst in their classsrooms for the last few weeks ast term, let's see if it lasts! Londoner, how are your mornings? I remember you were struggling to find a routine that works (I'm with you there!) Any better now?
Hi L&S! Love Cariba Creek! Went last year, but Joe was a little bit small to go on the flumes, and they made Bella take her glasses off (which I wasn't very pleased about), so we're waiting for Joe to grow a few cm's til we go again and Bella's got her prescription goggles now Meadowhall sounds good, without kids sounds even better, heehee!
Beks - Well done with the winnings! Are you going to spend it on somegthing frivolous?! My horse was 2nd for the 1st half of the race but think the rider was unseated in the 2nd half, ah well.
Hi Twinkle, I'm getting fed up with the kids swimming lessons, they seem to take up all of Saturday afternoon, even though it's just an hour! We've had a break from them over easter and it's been lovely not rushing to get things done. I've been taking them up to the stables with me instead for a change. Good luck with the ttc-ing, sure it will happen soon
Diege, are you and your's back today? Did you get your application off in time? I find that's always my problem!I'm going to look for a part-time job soon(ish) I really need some pocket money of my own!
Speak later x

BrownieBells · 16/04/2007 19:55

Hello All !
It feels and seems like ages since I was last on!
Welcome back Bob - am looking forward to reading your birth story on yahoo! all the details please!

WEll - all this fabulous weather - it's brill, means we can spend all our time outside!! (which is where Thomas loves to be...) Apart from the fact that Thomas seems to suffer from hayfever, poor lamb....He woke up a few mornings, with a really puffy eye - ended up taking him to the Drs, who agreed with us and reckons it's hayfever. So he now has allergy syrup once a day, and has been fine since....hoorah!

Was in your neck of the woods this weekend GG - Went down to see my goddaughter in a RoverRang show in Southampton (their local Brownie and Guide Cub & Scout show). Was lovely - left T with his Grandpops and Nanny, he had a whale of a time, as did Mummy & Daddy

Oh and Rodeo - yes the Magic key turned up - it turned out it had attached itself to the side of the grillpan, and we had put it back in the top oven!!!!!

Brownies starts again tomorrow night - don't really know where the time goes to be honest! Weds, we have a meeting about the Camp in June, then Thurs yoga starts again! gosh it's all go!!

My friend (the one who has moved back into the area) cam over again this morning, with her daughter, and so did our other friend who has a son and a daughter - so we had a lovely morning, playing in the garden, and trashing the house!!! good job dh wasn't here to see the carnage!!!!

Right - think this has turned into the mamoth post form mamothsville!

Hi diege, Chacha, Nova, Twinkle, Londer and all those I haven't mentioned....

Brownie

ChaCha · 16/04/2007 23:08

Hi girls,

Hope everyone is well. Good to see posts from L&S and Twinkle, hope we'll be hearing from Londoner soon too. Nova, is DH back at work now? How are you all? Hope everything is okay.

All okay here, DS1 had his hair cut at the weekend, we finally did it! Couldn't quite believe the result, he looks soooo grown up, the curly haired baby has left us but there's a grown up little boy in his place Scary!

Weekend plans changed slightly due to DH's work so we went to London Zoo on Sunday, very, very busy and was extremely warm but we had a good day, DS1 had more fun running around the grassy area and sharing other people's lunch than he did seeing the animals...an enjoyable day out none the less. What about everyone else? Hope you've all been enjoying the good weather, park, garden, whatever.

We are still decluttering here too, lots of black bags just full of stuff, it's unbelievable. Going to sell all my maternity stuff too, planning a carboot next weekend. I'd love to have another now but have been warned, not for another year. I know, crazy, especially considering the fact that i have sick pregnancies and moan a lot . I just felt really sad putting all my maternity garms away...strange.

DS2 has injections tomorrow, hope he will be as good as big brother was. Will go now and finish my tea, shower and bed, has been a long day.

p.s. What toddler activities do you recommend? I posted about this last week and got some good replies. Might make Wednesday a city centre day and pick up some paints and crayons. All ideas pls...

p.p.s Rodeo can't help think of that quote you posted a while back about running a nursery with someone you used to date, it's just so true!

oh and before i forget thanks for replies, haircut lovely, was actually a nice trip out, am going to book an Indian Head Message soon, is most definitely needed.

Love x

GreedyGecko · 17/04/2007 11:05

Hi all

Good to have you back BoB, looking forward to hearing your news. Great seeing all the new photos on Yahoo.

Poor T & his hayfever Brownie , I've been suffering for a few days now.

Hope everything is OK in the Londoner house?

Works going well, the weather means it quiet, but the tips are still rolling in . I've picked up another shift & will hopefully be getting another in the near future. May need a bit of advice from you Beks re DPs work soon.

Had a good night out on Sat for my friends birthday, fancy dress again, I went as batgirl . I spent £5 on a Bar Me cocktail & that was it, had all my drinks bought for me for the rest of the night by random blokes!

Off to check if my cars ready. We've had a Fiat Panda (YUK) for the last week, so hopefully they've finished it now.

Enjoy the rest of your week & I'll speak to you soon. xx

GreedyGecko · 17/04/2007 12:49

Well my front room fire place looks so attrative! I've taped the fireguard to it because I'm soooo fed up with putting it back after Sean has pulled it down countless times a day. He's actually quiet He's eating the lunch that he threw on th efloor an hour ago. Food really must taste nicer once it's beeen on the floor.

Londoner · 17/04/2007 13:06

Hello ladies,

Everything's fine in the Londoner camp Diege, Rodeo, ChaCha, GG, thanks for asking, just sooooooooo busy!!!! Great to catch up and hear all about your busy Easters.
Diege, did you send off that application? Also lol at chocolate eating snotty teething L, have you got your little angel back yet?
Rodeo, it must be so great for you and kids to get out with the horses, what a fantastic past time to provide and gets you all, quite literally, mucking in together. Did you mention full-on little boys, yes mine were the same, have picture in my head of one under each arm marching to the naughty step at times rofl, ahh those were the days. Having a loving sweet mummy's boy is the most wonderful thing but when they hit J's age I found it also v.satisfying to experience new more independent characteristics emerging.... so to speak.
ChaCha, so glad to hear you're enjoying life to the full, woohoo, and congrats on spending time on yourself. Lovely news to hear you're planning more children too, awww. Pics look so sweet.
GG lol at batgirl evening, wow, sounds like you had a well earned ball girl!
BB, find Piriton is helpful with hayfever which a few of us have in this family but it does make some people drowsy, may be worth a go? Also, on particularly bad days if you give T a bath and hairwash and change of clothes on coming in it can make a big difference as tiny pollen particles collect on skin, clothes and in hair.
Beks, so sorry to hear of your latest loss and hope you're managing to rebuild yours and your family's confidence okay.
Hi to everyone else.
Quick update on E... she's very very busy and likes to chat alot although it sounds like she is learning Cantonese alot of the time. Her latest word is 'habbi' for happy which is meltingly cute when she looks at me and says it with a smile. She loves 'reading' and drawing, although she has been experimenting with different media...... like chairs and sofas lol, biro out of a cream armchair anyone?
Byeeeeee.

Londoner · 17/04/2007 13:19

Rofl GG, what a little monkey, he's def got that cute factor going!

Rodeo · 17/04/2007 20:33

Evening!
Welcome back Londoner, I expected you to be away due to busy-ness Before I forget - Hairspray works on Biro on leather (apparently!) E sounds adorable - can picture her quite easily PS. Good hayfever tip too!
GG, glad job's going well! Fireplace sounds very stylish the things we have to do..... And sounds like you went down well as Batgirl, eh?!
Chacha - Oh the curls have gone! You must post a picture! Bet he looks lovely, I still love it when Joe's just had his done
Brownie, Oh poor T, did he get hayfever last year? And the missing key wasn't T's fault?! Hope your Brownie's were good tonight, which reminds me - when we were in London last week, we were at a very busy underground station when a troup of 12 or so Brownies swarmed past us with their Brown Owl calling after them, me and dp just looked at each other while thinking 'I'm so glad we don't have that many children to keep safe!' Phew!
