So many August bus babies have arrived already! Anyone else fancy a chat during night feeds or wondering what to make of the contents of tiny nappies? Might as well get comfortable...

plimsolls I'm so glad your DD is ok. Take some time to snuggle up together and reconnect. She won't remember this, it's more upsetting for you im sure.

On the temperature discussion kstar I feel the same, my groegg is always red and angry. I'm ignoring it and going with how I feel and how baby feels. She always feels warm to me so I've hardly used her grobag - she's mostly swaddled and in with me anyway.

four glad all is well. In sure your wee girl will be skipping into school quite the thing in no time.

To all of you struggling with baby no 1 behaviour I feel for you, you are amazing! I can hardly manage one.

I've not been on too much as in really struggling with sleep again. DD has had a cold this week and has fought every minute of sleep for the past three days. I expressed for a bottle today and left strict instructions on when to give it to her with DH who actually followed them! and went to bed. Of course she woke herself up doing a poo straight after the bottle and now I've been up with her since 12. Feeding again and praying she will settle after this, otherwise I may go mad. I just really wanted to sleep through until her next feed. As it stands ice only had 2hours in a row again. I've managed to force a couple of naps on her today by putting her in the wrap but then I can't nap. Ugh. Sorry for moaning!

I might start my Christmas shopping to cheer myself up. Anybody follow the bargain thread? It's amazing.

peardrop2 · 22/09/2016 03:47

Alfie I hear you Wink DD only ever gives me a couple of hours in a row at night and it is harrrrddddd!!

I didn't burp DD at the last feed because I was too sleepy or sleeping (can't remember which) and now I am paying for it Sad Stupid trapped wind! I can't remember when DS started sleeping longer then 2 hour stretches. I only remember that he first slept through at 10 months...wow that feels like a long time away.

peardrop2 · 22/09/2016 03:52

Oooh and Alfie a bargain thread on MN or Facebook?

Sophia1984 · 22/09/2016 05:07

Is anyone getting cramps twinges in their womb/pelvic area? I'm 7 weeks postpartum and still getting these. I know I should have gone to the doctor already- going to try and get appointment tomorrow but am worrying I may have an infection now Confused Don't have a temperature and it's not that painful/isn't getting worse. Can't tell if it's internal or more like pelvic girdle pain returning. Definitely more sore when I'm moving (waltzing round room while rocking baby and pushing pram).

AlfieTheRailwayCat · 22/09/2016 05:54

sophia I still get a heavy/bruised feeling if I've done a lot in a day. Took the dogs and pram for a power walk today and definitely felt it afterwards. I just assumed it was normal though and will go away as long as I do pelvic floor exercises. Is it that kind of feeling?

On MN pear under fun and games - Christmas. People basically post discount codes/sales/good deals. I followed it last year too and got some really good bargains! It's a bit mental though, it's on thread 7 I think so they have been going for a whole already this year.

Biscuitswithtea · 22/09/2016 07:29

Oh goodness. Have just peeked into the Christmas threads. That might provide hrs of distraction for night time feeds!

BellaGoth · 22/09/2016 08:02

Did someone mention Christmas?

I LOVE Christmas. I have an entire excel workbook dedicated to it. I bought DS's main present in May (playmobil castle reduced from £80 to £30. Would have been rude not to.). Currently trying to think of some stocking fillers for DD. Just a few bits...

AlfieTheRailwayCat · 22/09/2016 09:48

I love Christmas too bella get thee over to the bargain thread! Hours of entertainment for night feeds. I love that some of you have been in and place marked. I know DD won't have s clue hit I am so excited to be Santa!

hgleslie89 · 22/09/2016 10:32

Wow, peanut butter on toast was not a good breakfast choice when I have to deal with poos like that!

So DD is 2 months today and seems to have marked the occasion by visibly growing over night. She's definitely stretching the newborn clothes and 0-3 months don't swamp her any more. I'm so pleased she's growing but I miss when she was so tiny.

Biscuitswithtea · 22/09/2016 10:39

There is something bittersweet about babies growing.

So DD had an epic puke this morning, soaking herself quite thoroughly. I blame the hideous antibiotics that I'm still on. Can't wait to see the back of them!

Should have had a decent sleep last night (found a small sleeping bag, it worked a treat) but DS was up for a while in the night with his cough and apparently only mummy would do. DH was sent away by him!!

peardrop2 · 23/09/2016 00:46

I'm now thinking after reading all your recent comments that DD is not warm enough at night. It really could be possible. With my son my mother always told me to put socks on him and I didn't listen. One day I did do it and he slept until 8am. Warmth does help. It makes sense. What sleeping bag have you got Biscuits? I like the idea of getting a sleeping bag because I find putting a blanket on top disturbs DD. Sorry that your lo reacted badly like that. I started skipping Renetidine and my DD started being very sicky this week. I think we're doing better now.

Slothlikesundays · 23/09/2016 02:55

Biscuits dd also did a massive puke this morning. Had a terrible night last night, so finally went to Drs who diagnosed reflux and started on infant gaviscon. Feel terrible now for not taking her earlier. I knew she probably had reflux but as she wasn't being sick often I kept thinking it was just all day comic Blush. Got home and cried. She then took first dose - no problem and was really settled and happy all afternoon. Even almost got a smile out of her! Then she completely refused next dose, she was screaming and crying and pushing me away. Felt like such a failure for the first time. Can't wait for dp to get back from work tomorrow. It's been a very long week. Going to check out the Christmas threads to cheer myself up!

BellaGoth · 23/09/2016 04:49

My HV keeps suggesting relax as DD has had a few projectile vomits. Not many though, maybe 4 or 5 in total. We had quite a major one yesterday as I was feeding her at a local garden centre! Poor DD was covered, it was all over her face, up her nose and in her eyes. My DS had reflux and we had to fight for months to get him diagnosed. DD doesn't seem anything like he was so I'm not sure what to think. We have our 6 week check on Monday so I shall ask then.

sloth we found it really hard to get the knack of DS's gaviscon, and he was much older. Please don't feel like a failure, you really aren't. Flowers

peardrop2 · 23/09/2016 05:48

Sloth definitely not a failure! It's very common to experience what you're going through. Are you BF and having to give the Gaviscon before? If yes then you may find that you need to try a different size syringe or a rubber weaning spoon. Just to keep us on our toes they all like different things.

Biscuitswithtea · 23/09/2016 06:37

Hugs Sloth. Tiredness can make everything seem worse. You're not a failure though, I promise!

Pear it's a 2.5 tog one from Mamas and Papas, we had it with DS too...I just needed to dig it out. Size is 0-6m and it fits fine.
Will last her a while I think, still needs the underarm poppers doing at the moment. It seems to help with going back into her crib at night after a feed. And now that she doesn't tend to poo overnight I can often get away without a nappy change until the end of the night.

peardrop2 · 23/09/2016 06:49

Ahhh. I want to get this one with sleeves but I know it will be far too big for her right now. http://www.jojomamanbebe.co.uk/baby-cozy-jersey-sleeping-bags-3-5-tog-b1649.html

BellaGoth · 23/09/2016 06:52

Pear that sleeping bag looks brilliant, DS always had cold arms as a baby, wish I'd had a couple of those.

peardrop2 · 23/09/2016 07:05

Bella I'm going to exchange a gift I was given for one so I'll let you know just how big the 0-6 month size is!

peardrop2 · 23/09/2016 07:08

I brought my son one when he was 2 but he didn't like the arms as he wasn't used to it. Going to try and get DD used to it earlier as they both have cold arms. I have cold arms Smile

Slothlikesundays · 23/09/2016 07:10

Thanks for all being so nice. Feel a bit better now I've managed a couple of hours of sleep. Pear I will definitely try a weaning spoon - wouldn't have even thought of that but might be a lot easier. And that sleeping bag looks perfect. Dd had cold arms this morning. Think she would have slept longer with this - hopes of a lie in dashed this morning. Strong coffee and a pastry for breakfast as consolation!

Biscuitswithtea · 23/09/2016 08:32

That looks cosy Pear. We have (somewhere) oodles of sleeping bags, albeit armless, so I think I will just need to peg those Jojo ones as a good idea that we won't do anything about.

Sloth gaviscon is a sod to give to babies in my experience. Absolutely do not give yourself a hard time about it. If it works, great, if it doesn't then ask for ranitadine (much easier to get down the hatch).

Today we have playgroup and a toddler birthday party to go to. Then I have a GP appt to check my lungs are finally clear. Will be mighty pissed off if they aren't!

So in preparation for a busy and active day, DD is snoozing, DS is watching Ben & Holly and I am hiding for 5 mins with my coffee so that I can drink it whilst it is hot and in peace ;)

Sophia1984 · 23/09/2016 14:21

My DP is generally brilliant and does lots around the house and with baby. But today he is at home and has decided to spend it wallpapering his man cave, while the rest of the house is an utter mess and I am trapped under a clusterfeeding monster. Lord give me strength.

Slothlikesundays · 23/09/2016 15:45

Tell me about it Sophia. I have half a fridge in my garden, the lawn hasn't been cut for weeks and dp has got a new car today so has spent all afternoon faffing about with his car Hmm. Although. I'm quite jealous yours is sorting his man cave as dp's is a bomb site. Meanwhile in the real world I'm force feeding gaviscon and feeding. Worth it though. Got the weaning spoons and she is getting some of the dose and seeming a bit more settled.

Sophia1984 · 23/09/2016 15:58

Ah that makes me feel better Sloth - at least I'm not alone! We're meant to be putting the cot up but, after I've tidied the room one-handed while holding DS, he's just come in and said he 'needs a rest' Hmm

Glad the Gaviscon seems to be working :-)

AlfieTheRailwayCat · 23/09/2016 16:42

sophia and sloth must be going round my DH just called to ask if I minded him going to the pub tonight. I feel like a grumpy mare but I've said I do mind. I was actually hoping he would mind baby so I could sleep.
