So many August bus babies have arrived already! Anyone else fancy a chat during night feeds or wondering what to make of the contents of tiny nappies? Might as well get comfortable...

We are putting DS down to bed upstairs with a angel care monitor. By 6 he's had enough and bath every night normally manages to carry him through to last feed at about 6:30, normally asleep by 8, sometimes earlier, depends how long the jiggle or rock takes! Dh has thankfully been putting the older boys to bed every night so I only have baby to deal with. He's then sleeping until about midnight and I feed him every time he wakes to get him back to sleep-know that I am setting myself up to a suck to sleep problem in the future but I will deal with it when it happens...

Still feeding on demand here. May also have been a bit harsh on poor bubs yesterday with catnapping accusations as I think he's getting another cold... the older children are commonly known as the Petri dishes in our house.

We have no real bedtime routine yet. DD usually stays downstairs with us until we go to bed about 10. She'll get a nappy change and put in pyjamas, DH gives her a bath every other evening. Then she goes to bed, sometimes she'll take a feed before she goes to sleep. Then she'll stay down until about 7, sometimes with one overnight feed about 3 or 4 but often not. I have no idea whether she's asleep all that time, but she's quiet enough to let me sleep!

Biscuits I thought a cabriofix was for the next stage? Does your dc fit in it already? Hmm do I get the pebble footmuff or the blanket. Decisions! Really can't decide on anything these days!

Sloth it was me asking about infocol. Have now decided to try gripe water but did not manage to buy it today Sad. What have I got to loose.

Whattodowithaminute · 11/10/2016 18:30

Cabriofix definitely stage 0, mine is in his too.

Biscuitswithtea · 11/10/2016 19:42

Yep, cabriofix is def stage 0/newborn carseat.

We have jabs tomorrow. Again. Am quietly dreading it. And then DS has his 3yr ones next week. Possibly dreading that even more!

Biscuitswithtea · 11/10/2016 19:44

Re footmuff vs blanket - will one last longer than the other?

peardrop2 · 12/10/2016 02:17

Biscuits the blanket says 0-6 months and the footmuff says up to 12 months. I think I'll get the footmuff just because Ds is more likely to open the blanket up then the footmuff and if the footmuff lasts longer then that's a bonus! Thanks for your help!

Sending lots of luck for tomorrow! I better find out when we have our next one as I never wrote it down. We also have DS jabs next week which I'm also dreading! I've made DH take time off work for that as no way can I handle it solo! Ive been trying to prep ds and I've told him we can go to the shop and have a treat after. It's a hard one to prep for Sad

Today I missed my hospital appointment Sad I turned up at 2 when it was at 1:30. Now have to wait another 2 weeks for physio. Spent £4 on parking. That will teach me!

On a more exciting note...the decorator turns up tomorrow to start on the nursery whoop whoop!! It better look good as we have now spent a stupid amount of money on this tiny room when you calculate the wallpaper, coving and all the bits to do it from Homebase. If I knew this at the start I would have just painted the room Blush However, I've had to wait ages for this so I'm excited to see the finished result!

peardrop2 · 12/10/2016 02:19

Really don't understand why we have a pebble and didn't choose a cabriofix and why there are two to choose from!! Oh well. I've rechecked and I definitely own a pebble.

peardrop2 · 12/10/2016 02:21

Wow hg you're super lucky that your baby sometimes sleeps through. Must feel amazing!

peardrop2 · 12/10/2016 06:28

Wahhhhhhhh I see a new pattern developing. Child has not slept since 2am apart from cat napping and then waking up as soon as I put her down Angry This is all made worse by my crazy husband who was lovely enough to offer to have her for the first part of the night but then gave me a sleeping baby at 1:30am and said "I think she needs feeding soon as it's been a while" HmmShockAngry Nooooooo she's sleeping!!!! Of coarse he was on his way downstairs before I could properly open my eyes and say anything! Grrrr!

And as I've been awake I've brought winter clothes and browsed coats for ds. What I'm going to dress Dd in is still a mystery as she's still very much living in babygrows. I have now brought her a snowsuit but also wondering if that was sensible as they're a nightmare like you all say!

BellaGoth · 12/10/2016 07:30

Oh Pear how annoying about the hospital appointment! It's so easily done.

DD has her first immunisations today. Must remember calpol!

Re preschool vaccinations. The nurse was amazing with DS and he didn't even flinch. I think it helped that I had my whooping cough jab at the same time, so he watched me go first.

peardrop2 · 12/10/2016 08:59

Thanks Bella it does seem easily done now that I lack sleep!

So, I've just been on the living with reflux FB page and read someone say that Renetindine can cause really bad wind. This does make sense to us. As time has gone by her wind is actually worse then the reflux symptoms, maybe?! I'm going to take her off renetidine (again) today and see what happens ShockConfused Still, I read their posts and TG that I don't have a baby who screams screams until they turn purple! Although if I did I would be heading straight to A&E!!

peardrop2 · 12/10/2016 09:00

Also, can I just say that as DH has today off he's doing drop off at nursery. He's not on time Grin

Slothlikesundays · 12/10/2016 09:11

Pear I think it's probably true about ranitidine and wind. I also think it slows down her stomach so she is constipated. I missed the afternoon dose and then she threw up bedtime dose last night and it was the worst night I've had in ages. Could not settle her so just prepare yourself if you are going to stop it.
I think I'm being stupid regarding winter clothes. What is she going to need? I take her out every day in the ergo baby and always worry about wrapping her up too warm. Any ideas what she can wear?

Biscuitswithtea · 12/10/2016 10:43

DD wears any combination of long sleeved vest, dungarees, tights, leggings don't ask dh to explain the difference between those two! cardigans, jumper dress tunic thing...

Back from jabs. Thank goodness. DD has dropped a little down the centile chart but not worryingly - and we are a family of short arses so I would expect no different to be honest. Anyway, she is just shy of 12lbs so that's fine.

Apparently when ds has his next week, they do two at once - one nurse on either side. Sounds horrific but I understand the logic of doing that over trying to do the second once there's already an upset toddler.

Well done on the clothes shopping Pear! I am holding off for now but feeling a bit drab in endless stretchy jersey tops and jeans (breastfeeding wardrobe).

Speaking of which, I'd forgotten how hard breastfeeding can be. I'm glad I'm doing it, but it isn't always easy by any stretch.
