Hopefully this works...

So we can keep in touch and pass on words of wisdom!

Perhaps someone clever could link to the stats?

Ikea not Iowa?! That would be crazy

dats · 25/07/2016 22:27

I have just all but choked laughing on approximately seventeen attempts to read that out to DP!!!

dats · 25/07/2016 22:27

Still chuckling

dats · 25/07/2016 22:29

And yes - Serial, I wanted to suggest that too but couldn't remember what it was called!

birchybaby2 · 25/07/2016 23:04

Completely mad ellizardo. Ikea at the best of times is madness. Saying that we did a wedding at the weekend with 7year old and 7 day old. Hubbie got drunk so support at the end was limited and left at 10pm. We survived!!!! Birthday party and night away at my sisters this weekend!!! Had hardly been out the house at this stage when had daughter. Xxx

Bluebell20 · 26/07/2016 00:37

Ahahahaha Elliz; Iowa would indeed be a tad mad! IKEA is quite nutty too. I wish you luck. Are you feeling otherwise ready for the house move? Cheers for the rec - I had heard of Serial but couldn't remember what it was called!

dats cheers; I shall check those out. Well jell of you going to a recording. God I love Brian Cox and his shamelessly cheesey geekiness and his helmet hair. I listen to him and marvel at how ignorant I am. I do actually have an A Level in Physics but I may as well not do for how much I've retained of it!

birchy well impressed with your socialising. Ruben and I have gone down the garden a couple of times to say hello to the bantams, and I thought that was doing well!

Indians argh, thrush. That is shit. Hope it clears up soon.

Forgot to share this gem from the other day. Doorbell rings; it's the postie. I have just finished feeding Rubes and haven't actually dressed for the day yet, so am glamorously clad in nursing t shirt and my big black granny pants. I sometimes drink in the village pub with the postie and know him a bit so I think, fuck it, storm downstairs with Ruben over my shoulder and open the door. At which point, rather than styling it out, I find myself saying, "Hi Mike, sorry I'm in my pants."

He was so embarrassed he didn't even say anything in response, just laid the parcels at my feet and backed away.

primarynoodle · 26/07/2016 03:28

birchy we have a Halloween wedding with a 3 month old to attend - I'm already having nightmares about logistics!

dats love Coxy, he and mr Attenborough are like gods

indians- what an arse wanker that man is your poor mum. I hope you manage to find wYs to soothe her anxiety

bluebell LOL at that story - I nearly answered my door with one boob exposed the other day but managed to remember to wrap it back in just in time

Two questions:

  1. dd went on a 30 hour feeding frenzy last night/yesterday, no more than an hour between feeds and mostly constant. Does this sound like a growth spurt? Fairly sure it's not a supply issue?

  2. what's everyone's lochia and undercarriage situation now? Have finally managed to start pooing without excruciating pain but my lochia seems to be still ever present - it's now either bright red or yellow but very watery mucus not stringy like before - is this nor,al? Am 3 weeks postpartum now..

dollydaydream84 · 26/07/2016 06:16

Primary sounds exactly like a growth spurt they gave them around 2 weeks an 3 weeks xx it will ease up xx

Lochia now gone finally after 4 weeks but I had a section so don't know how that would compare to natural delivery lochia.

Indians thrush and break in are both absolute rubbish so sorry for you hope your mum is ok xxx

beckslovestimmy · 26/07/2016 06:50

Lochia went between 2-3 weeks here but was down to hardly anything by 1week. Everyone is different I think it can up to 6 weeks or so to stop.

beckslovestimmy · 26/07/2016 06:51

Indians sorry to hear about the thrush, hope it clears up quickly. That sounds awful what happened to your parents and more so for your mum being downstairs, how scary for them.

primarynoodle · 26/07/2016 07:27

Thanks guys... Managed to get some sleep last night so hopefully growth spurt over. Gonna go to the breastfeeding group run by the hospital midwives on Thursday for some tips and stuff so I'll share anything useful they say!

Becks is it you that is the gateway to the Facebook group?

I'm now 2 weeks 5 days postpartum after a section - how is everybody else's healing if they had one?

Mine is largely pain free but is a little bit open if that makes sense. For that reason I still can't wear my jeans, stuck in leggings Angry

Bluebell20 · 26/07/2016 11:20

primary my lochia is going through phases. At the moment it's brownish blood on the pad like the very end of a period. It was pale red and slippery at one point and felt like I was weeing it out - sorry if that is tmi!

Flossie I'm 2 weeks post c- section and the wound has healed really well - it's just a pink line with a bit of a scab at one end. Apparently my surgeon was a former plastic surgeon - don't know if that helped! It has stopped hurting when I cough or sneeze - I stopped taking painkillers a few days ago. I'm still in maternity jeans though because I still have a pouchy belly and none of my normal jeans will do up!

I just received a mystery baby sling through the post, addressed to my maiden name. I have no idea who sent it! I bet the company won't tell me if I ring them up, either, cos of data protection. Hmm.

indians My brain was scrambled last night and I failed to say how awful I felt for your poor mum. That must have been incredibly scary. I hope she feels better soon. Xx

dollydaydream84 · 26/07/2016 13:27

Flossies my section was slightly open at both ends no one seemed bothered it's now closed by itself as long as it's not oozing yucky stuff they seem not to mind. They will check it at your 6 week check x

Flossiesmummy · 26/07/2016 14:49

Dolly how long is it since you delivered?

dollydaydream84 · 26/07/2016 16:51

Sorry i meant to say almost 5 weeks it was still open at 3 xx

Flossiesmummy · 26/07/2016 17:35

That's reassuring, thank you! I don't know about the rest of you but I've had zero information about what is normal and what to expect. I've resorted to googling all about c-sections Hmm

dollydaydream84 · 26/07/2016 18:02

Don't google! I did after my first one and all it is is horror stories oune!

I'm feeling very pleased with myself. I did my first run in a very long time tonight. Only 3 miles and I was very slow but I did it!! Not too shabby for someone with a baby that's not even 5 weeks old yet.

Julfin sorry to hear you've all been poorly. Hope your feeling better now.

dollydaydream84 · 26/07/2016 22:09

Julfin how awful for you all big hug x I've got medela swing double its fab.!mam anti colic bottles were great for my two children bit fiddly to put together but once you get the hang it's fine never had wind issues with using them.
