I think there's only one other child near the same stage (there's only 11 in the class, four of them girls). But yes a quick note in her reading diary to say we are doing X because of Y wouldn't go amiss.

At pre school the other day I watched a child a month younger than ds write her name beautifully! I was amazed!

No chance with A! DD was about a year younger when she drew a really good 5 foot high ladybird on the sitting room wall. When A draws us we look like jellyfish!

Thanks Beasty r can kind of do a r if pushed, has done recognisable faces q few times but doesn't really want to do more than scribbles he calls racing cars. Bizarrely he loves drawing and often asks for it!

DS is fascinated by books and really curious about words, but I don't think he is actually in a rush to learn to read or write for himself... But that's what I like about Kiga. No pressure to do something, but if they show an interest it's supported.

DS had taken to making an exasperated Marge Simpson style sigh everytime I ask him to do anything.

He almost drove me over the edge at the weekend! But next weekend is daddy's weekend and I'm off out so he can strop all he likes!

Ds has been playing with his will. All. Day. Long. Lying on the floor with his hand underneath it just running himself. He gets a really red cheek from his head being on the carpet too. He wouldn't even atop when he was eating his dinner his hand was still there. I literally have had to pick him up off of the floor to get him to actually leave the house or brush his teeth. He was doing it in the bath once all the water was out and the only way I could get him up was to turn the cold tap on

Wreck I'm sorry. It sounds funny but I'm sure it isn't. I don't have any advice. I'm just glad I don't have that problem with DS I have enough already

DS has started to parrot everything when I tell him off. This evening in the bathroom when I told him to stop being silly I got: "you're not the boss. I am. And DD is too" I did my best not to react but inside I'm a mix between cracking up, wanting to give him a smack and angry. When he uses a phrase back at me I generally stop using it. Aaaaaaarghhhhhh

The staff at KiGa today commented that he isn't scared of anything. I showed them a video of DS from over a year ago, in it he gives a cow a kiss. Yup. That boy has no fear. None whatsoever.

And thank you for the hair tips for DD. I looked up the curly girl method and leave conditioner on her hair. I also am brushing it less when it is dry and it looks soooo much better. Less birds nest more like actual hair. When it's half dry all these lovely curls spring up. I don't think she will have tight curls but definitely a lovely long curl.... Awwwww she's gorgeous. I'm sure she'll hate it

nutella I would have sung the Malcolm in the middle theme tune to him. I often sing at my children to annoy them when they are being annoying - it brings me great joy (and stops me killing shouting at them)

Dh and I have just had a date at the best cinema in the world! It has sofas and side tables, and you can order beer and pizza to be brought to you! (Only cos I'm weird I had a haloumi burger and a cup of tea!)
So civilised!

There's 2 near us - Walton on Thames and Esher. I know there's a couple in London but not sure if they are national. It's called The Everyman if you want to google.

Parenting fail today - dd1s bday next week, she really wants a fish tank. Took her to the shop today, had dd2+3+dm in tow so all rather hectic. Got swept along with sales man and only as we drove away did I think - it's too big and we've spent way to much money. Got home, tried the tank in her room - yup, too big. So having shown her the delis version that she really wanted with all the accessories, I then had to take her back to the shop to swap for a smaller one and return some of the extras. Poor thing was so upset and was being so brave. She's had lots of extra tlc but made a nest in the corne of her room and is asleep in it. Poor thing.

On a happier note, my fave thing today was T pulling a funny face with her towel hood up and me saying she looked like a tortoise. When dh got home from work I told her to show him the face, and he guessed tortoise! Clearly she has a gift!

Oh no WL that sounds stressful for all involved. Thanks for that we might go somewhen

We're going to bird world tomorrow I don't think I've been before I'm looking forward to it! Wonder if I can get ds in for under three...

Hi, i've been abit AWOL. I hope everyone is ok.

H loves drawing and is showing a huge amount of interest in learning to write letters but it is hit and miss. But she is learning to identify them now. Her Nursery teacher as advised us to get her to pick up small beads and grains of rice and move them from one bowl to another as it will help her to grip a pen better. She thinks thats why she is struggling forming the letters.

That Cinema sounds amazing WL. I hope Dd1 is ok now.

hales that's great that's she's interested but don't forget she's still only a buba so she might not be able to keep up with her brain/desire. What about sticky mosaics? Dds love them and they are a bit fiddly so could be good for fine motor and hand eye coordination.

Dd1s bday tomorrow so she's asleep in my bed - bloody birthday tradition!

Struggling to form letters? At 3?!?! They're not even expected to hold the pen properly at this age (although some can)!
