Thought I had better start a new thread as the old one was about to crash

Happy 30th B'Day kbaby Wish I was 30 again but then I suppose I wouldn't even be married let alone have a house to live in or my 2 precious children. Whoops-going all sentimental now, better go!

Taking DD1 to her dance class Christmas Party so got some sarnies to be getting on with.

Happy Sunday

HC, Toby goes at 6pm. He is so shattered by then and becomes unbearable if I keep him up later than that. I call 5-6pm whinge o clock. He sleeps through till 4-5am, has a bottle then, then sleeps through till 7am. I expect when he gets older he will drop the 4am bottle [hopeful emoticon] but I am not bothered by it right now as 11 hours is long enough for a 5 month old to go without eating IMO.

Pink go on your pamper day. Unless you will spend the whole day stresing in which case it will be a waste. Go with your heart and ignore what everyone else says (except us of course!

Festive - Big hugs. Was wondering how you were. It will get easier (can't get much harder, lets face it!!

£200 on the premium bonds today. That cheered me up.

Bloss-£200! Wow-that is fantastic.

Just got to get DD1 into bed earlier-she has only just gone and won't stay in bed.

Following the WW points got me thinking-with BF still I thought I should be on more points to compensate for calories burnt up by feeding. Yup, I need to have an extra 5 a day so that is 25 altogether-yay!!!!!!!!!

Ooh, Corro is good.

HC - agree that if DS sleeps through, just go with it. TBH, Josh has a nap at 5ish and falls into such a deep sleep (much deeper than any of his other naps) that I always feel guilty that I have to wake him for bath etc - I am convinced that if I left him, he would carry on sleeping (not sure he would sleep all night though which is why I persist in waking him)

What are you going to have with your extra points then?? I am on 24 anyway due to my weight - imagine what I could eat if I was bf.......(how many Creme Eggs......)?

evening all

welcome lysettes & soph28

babybore - charlotte was born at 5.09pm by c-section, she didn't want to come out, think she'd still be in there if she had her way

HC - sophie is gorgeous, my tumble dryer is 'c' rating too, think thats about the best you get for them. charlotte sometimes is in bed for 6pm, other nights 7pm, i used to think it was too early too but she just wouldnt manage to stay up any later and she still sleeps through so must need it

wallace - leo looks like he enjoys his food

impy - gorgeous pics and enjoy your night out

kbaby - glad everything was ok with your ultrasound, must have been worrying for you though. been through that myself and was similar thing, swollen milk duct and strangely years before i was even pregnant.

koshka - hope your new pushchair arrives soon, im so jealous i have a bulky pushchair that causes many a bus journey to be v.stressful, doesnt help when there are so many rude people out there though!!

pink - sorry to hear your girls got the pox now great about your new pushchair, i agree with festive, how about trying to leave jazz with someone for a couple of short periods to see how she is before making your decision about your pampering day.

well done to everyone who is losing weight, you all sound like you are doing really well. my willpower is terrible just now, i am not happy with my weight and really need to do something about it, i am 11st 8lbs but should really be about 9st or less i think, however never have been that low so will aim for 10st then go from there.

charlotte had her first food yesterday, decided to bypass the baby rice so she had carrots and did really well, she was actually opening her mouth for the spoon which i didnt expect. i only gave her 1 cube of puree at lunchtime (she ate it all), should i start giving her more soon at lunchtime or add in an extra meal i.e. tea/brekkie? not sure how soon to be giving her more, also should i stick to veg/fruit purees for a while or can i give her protein soon?

good night ladies xx

KoshkaAndJake · 12/01/2007 23:12

Still waiting for my pushchair...grrr

Going to buy a new carseat and a sleeping bag aswell, he's grown out of everything all at once!

Will prob need sleepsuits as well...don't need proper clothes as he got loads for christmas, but he mostly lives in sleepsuits, they look much more comfy and I don't think I need to dress him up just for me...although sometimes I do just to go to the shops!

I had better go to bed, my mum got drunk on like half a bottle of wime and delayed my whole bottle washing/sterilising routine by deciding she needed a cup of tea and boiling the kettle!

interruptingsheep · 13/01/2007 13:16

I've changed my name (I'm Wallace!) not sure yet, so may change back. This name is from ds1's favourite joke at the moment.

koshka - hope pushchair arrives soon. Leo wears babygros most of the time too

will catch up with all the other posts later

Twinklemegan · 13/01/2007 13:17

Go on, tell us the joke!

interruptingsheep · 13/01/2007 13:21

LOL

knock knock
who's there?
interrupting sheep?
interrupting sh..
BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

It was funny at first - I read it on MN and told ds, so my fault!

FestiveAtForty · 13/01/2007 13:42

Afternoon all

Like the name Wallace, very creative

Welcome to newbies (forgot to say that yesterday)

Kosh ? hope the pram turns up soon. Re clothing, I never dress Emma in anything except babygros/sleepsuits except for VERY special occasions. She doesn?t own a pair of trousers that fit, and she has one skirt for ?best?. Her daily outfit is a short sleeved bodysuit under a sleepsuit, a coordinating (of course) cardigan or hoody and squashy elasticated boots. I think if I had to struggle with evil tights in the morning it would just push me over the edge! I suppose it will have to be faced at some time point though, can?t send her to school in a sleepsuit unfortunately

Kayzed ? lol, I?m only festive as I haven?t been arsed to change my Christmas name - am totally totally knackered, and disorganised! Also lol at the raspberries at Daddy Emma has just discovered raspberry blowing too, she?s very pleased with herself - I just need to teach her the dada bit to go along with it Good luck with the Oz preparations, not long now. How exciting, you?ll be posting from a whole different time zone

Pretty ? top bargain hunting, am impressed!

HC ? if Sophie sleeps through however early you put her to bed I wouldn?t say you have much to worry about on that front! I?m sure she?d let you know if she was unhappy.

Well done to the dieters ? am as massive flab wobbling still going on here (am 10lbs more than when I was 4 months pg), I?m (still) blaming my chocolate consumption on bf ? though I think Emma would be having to drink the equivalent of half a sweet shop a day to justify it

I have discovered a new daytime napping technique ? which I can only describe as ?dump the baby in the cot and run?. This came about because when she?s grouchy/hungry/tired she usually cries when she sees me, probably because she wants to communicate her woes I suppose. So no merit really in hanging around by the cot trying to pacify her, it just makes it worse. So the dumping and running has worked 4 times today and yesterday ? she just put herself to sleep. (This has only worked when I?ve put her down when she is tired but not already crying, and it hasn?t worked at night.) Am I a baby guru ?

Willnbel · 13/01/2007 14:53

Afternoon all...
Annieol, yes its bumpy. Thought i'd change my name shortly after he was born as i felt so fat! I was off line for quite a while when our computer packed up but i'm back now and its fab to be back on.

HC you are such a jammy sod! If i could get William down at six and still slepp through til seven then i'd definitely do it!!! He goes down at half seven til about seven though so i shouldnt complain! My main prob is getting him to have a nap in the day without needing to be cuddled to sleep! Thanks for the weetabix/food post. That sounds like the sort of stage i'm on. He eats four veg/chicken cubes for lunch and a yoghurt and a jar for tea but i might introduce some jelly after tea tonight!

What is BLW? Bloss... William cant sit up properly on his own for more than ten seconds before he keels over, thumb firmly in mouth, but i'm bunging him in the high chair to get him used to it and with the straps it seems to work ok. I still do his breakfast in his little chair though.

Wallace... like the name! Thats the sort of joke i tell!!

Weight wise i'm 5'11 and at most preg weighed 16 st. Down to 12 10now but wouldf like to be twelve to wearsize 14. i'd be happy with that. i find it hard to stop eating!

William is on my lap howling for a nap and grabbing my cheek. Looks like id better do the'20 min walk around the house'!!! growing geoff cape arms! x

Willnbel · 13/01/2007 14:56

Festive meant to ask... how many days you back in work for? i'm doing three and fibd it hard going as doing 9hour days to try and bump up my pay.

IamBlossom · 13/01/2007 15:08

Bumps - from what I can gather BLW is where you stick lumps of appropriate food in front of the LO and they pick it up and chew it/spit it out/lick it/chuck it on the floor or whatever they fancy doing. Hence the name - they take the "lead". Is that right Wallace? I think it is appropriate only when your baby is sitting up, able to hold it's head up on it's own, and dextrous enough to pick the food up in it's fingers....please feel free to correct me at any point anyone. It seems to be recommended that you start this with babies 6 months + as they are "supposed" to be able to do all these things by that age.

And yes, i too have a nice, crepey, "gather it all up in a nice skin pony tail" tummy, thanks to two ENORMOUS bumps in my two pregnancies.

first two are Toby and third one is DS1

Can't beleive I'm probably not going to be pregnant again...

xx

agalch · 13/01/2007 17:50

Hiya Blossom

I liked your pics but they are not your ds's lol.
Jolly nice bump tho

Picked my dress today so off to choose kilts for the men tomorrow

IamBlossom · 13/01/2007 18:45

sorry, that should have read, first two are of me pregnant with Toby, third one is me pregnant with DS1...

IamBlossom · 13/01/2007 18:45

oh you know what I mean.....[fuckwit emoticon]

babalon · 13/01/2007 21:07

Hi all long time no speak!!

Hello to all the new members hope you are well. Christmas was good but very manic in the babalon household scary putting up 3 stockings on christmas eve instead of the usual 2.

Logan is coming along a treat, fully weaned 3 meal's a day plus 4 bottles, sleeps from 7.30 till 7am. He's such a happy boy always smiling especially at old people when I'm shopping so I end up with his fan club following us around

I'm due back at work on the 26th feb any advice from you whov'e already return would be welcomed. I like by job it's not my ideal job but there is time for that. I'm a nurse and worry that my preggie brain has made me forget everything, is it still up there somewhere?

I've also got to find a nursery to have Logan on a friday ( my sister and I are sharing babies the rest of the week) Any hints and tips? I already found one and a child answered the phone when I rang, no adult followed so will not be going there!

Logan's talipes treatment was going well and this week he was given the go ahead by his consultant to have the boots and bars off for 8 hours per day instead of the previous 1 hour. However we have only managed this for 1 day this week because my darling boy has started kicking the boots off during the night! The doctor has told us that the reacurance rate for a child that doesn't follow the treatment properly is 16/20. I knew this was for the long term but its only just sinking in now. Logan will have to wear the boots for nighttimes and naps until he is at least 4yrs and 5yrs if we can get him there. Hopefully things will improve after his next appointment on tuesday. I'm sooo bored of weekly visits to the hospital.

How was everyones baby's after their third jabs? Logan is late but he had his on friday and has been poorly since. High temp 39 after calpol! how long till your little ones settled? Have had a hell of a day with him which is so out of character.

Have a good weekend with your los

Love the pics bloss, you were all bump and no stretchmarks

Bloss is right about baby led weaning. When I started Leo I thought they had to be sitting well "supported" I didn't realise til later that it was unsupported Also didn't know about the pincer grip thing until recently, but IMO that is something that comes a lot later, and a 6 month old baby will pick stuff up with their fist. I think one of the important things about BLW is that it is the baby that is putting the food in their own mouth.

KoshkaAndJake · 13/01/2007 21:34

Bloss - no stechmarks on that lovely bump.

I didn't take any pictures me pregnant. I try to not be in any pictures.

I'd love to try BLW but I dont have a highchair and I dont think my mum will be pleased if I get food smeared all over her sofas!

I'm still signed off work and i think I am just going to quit.
Just thinking about it gives me panic attacks.

well, id better go, Jake is blowing holes in my leg with his mansize farts! My mum still doesn't believe its him....grrr

ImpyChica · 13/01/2007 22:12

Great pix Bloss! I've got a scary "Demi-Moore-Vogue-Cover" style one of me that I'll spare you - not plesant!

So much for the big girls' night out - the babies didn't get ill but we all did! So lame. I've got a grotty cough and the others have sick bugs/cold... oh well, another time.

Have been reading loads about BLW - might give it a go tomorrow. DS doesn't seem impressed with purees unless they're really sweet. Think I'll just let him pick at a variety of finger food and see what he likes. It's gonna be messy...

I'm sure you look great in your cossie, KamiKazed - we're always too self critical.

Poor Logan, Babylon, the treatment sounds really tough for you all. Hope it goes ok. {{{hugs}}}

Think I'll call it a night (wild chica that I am!).

Hugs, Impy

Morning girls, another rubbish night in the french household. For the past week Thomas has been waking several times in the night. He's happy to go back to sleep with his dummy, but the H and I are really hacked off so we are going to have to go cold turkey... wish us luck. I'm still feeding him once at around 3am and I don't mind that, it's the 11pm-1am-4am-6am etc that does for my patience. So what is it all about? Is he just dummy-dependent (never used to be, and will sometimes go down for naps without it), or is he just starving?

ANYWAY I'm starting weaning next weekend (H is being a bit anal about waiting until 6 months ). But can I try BLW despite T not being able to sit unsupported for more than 10 seconds?

Re tights, a friend of mine used to put them on her boys in winter, under short dungarees, as a draught excluder
