Thought I had better start a new thread as the old one was about to crash

Happy 30th B'Day kbaby Wish I was 30 again but then I suppose I wouldn't even be married let alone have a house to live in or my 2 precious children. Whoops-going all sentimental now, better go!

Taking DD1 to her dance class Christmas Party so got some sarnies to be getting on with.

Happy Sunday

Crikey people - so many posts already on this thread!

Happy 30th Birthday kbaby!!! Join the club!

CB - I wouldn't worry too much about him sleeping on his front since he's obviously mobile. I think you're not supposed to do this when they're little in case they get stuck and can't breathe, but if he can get himself there he should be fine.

Festive - Emma is a gorgeous little thing!

Welcome back Frenchleave!

Pink - what's a bayamo? [clueless emotion]

Oooh Agalch - it's such fun trying on wedding dresses. Are you going to describe it to us, or do we have to wait until after the event to see the photos?

Koshka - what a cheeky little boy?! Just like Aidan.

Well we're just about up to 3 out of 4 from the thread title. After showing no interest in rolling for ages, Aidan's now getting really good at it. He rolls onto his side really easily and he's showing signs of going over onto his front, once he moves his arm out of the way. And tummy time's hopeless now that he's mastered rolling from front to back - he's quite the expert. The last couple of days he's been getting much more stable sitting up. He can sit for quite a while unsupported and he's starting to adjust his balance. I think he's experimenting as well with how far he can lean before he falls over. I put him in his playnest with the shape sorter he got for Xmas and he uses it to stop himself falling forwards so he'll sit for ages in there.

Right that's quite enough from me. Ciao!

Beadmum · 07/01/2007 22:59

gosh, new thread and so many messages already

kosh - gorgeous photos of Jake, hes such a smiley little boy

hi frenchleave and bumpybel - im quite new to the thread, first time mum and loving it

maewest - hope all goes well with DS in his own room tonight

festive - lovely pics

kbaby - happy birthday, hope you had a lovely day

pink - bet you're looking forward to your pamper day, sounds great. oh and whats a bayamo or am i just being a bit thick

agalch - trying on wedding dresses is so much fun isn't it

kz - charlotte has 9oz 4 times a day, times depends on when she wakes up, normally 8-9am, 12-1pm, 4pm then 7pm after bath at bedtime

charlotte seems to have finally recovered from her cold and is back to her cheery self. she is 6 months on tuesday, cant believe it, time is passing so quickly. its such a wonderful age though, i love how she is starting to play with toys and look at books more closely, its so funny just sitting watching her sometimes. i had a pureeing sesh today so ice cubes all ready in the freezer and starting tomorrow, so excited

Twinklemegan · 07/01/2007 23:00

X posted Kayzed. Thanks - it's generated quite a lot of good debate which is what I was hoping. Can't believe it started up again after a couple of months of being dead.

Aidan generally has four feeds a day. I make up 7 oz bottles and he usually has most of it. Whenever I make up 8 ozs in case I'm starving him he then decides he's not that hungry - contrary little thing! I think he takes 750 - 800 ml a day on average plus a couple of cubes of veg puree. But he changes his mind like the weather and the amount he takes can vary wildly from day to day. I used to record it meticulously when I was b/f as well but keep forgetting now.

Twinklemegan · 07/01/2007 23:03

Meant to say, I've been worried he's not taking enough but he seems to be within the average range for his age and he usually sleeps through the night without needing a fifth feed. And he's not even ravenous in the morning. I'm taking him to be weighed again tomorrow so we'll see.

Beadmum · 07/01/2007 23:03

x post twinkle, looks like its not only me whos not heard of bayamo, feel a bit better now

Crap night, feeling really sorry for myself (and Mondays are rubbish). After going down at 6.30 the boy woke at 7.15, 9.30 and 1.30 before wanting to start the day at 5am. Doesn't sound too bad, except when I fed him at 1.30 he settled straightaway and I then couldn't get back to sleep for about 2 hrs . DH got up at 6, so I took the boy into our bed and had just got him to sleep when DH came back in to find pants in possibly THE noisiest way and DS naturally woke up and started doing his squealing with excitement and grabbing my hair thing. He is still awake now, but I KNOW he is tired. Now will follow a day of constant bf because he is tired and whingy and nothing else will shut him up or make him sleep for more than 45 damn minutes.

Sorry ladies, going to take my sour mood elsewhere, don't want to inflict it on you.

usandnosleep · 08/01/2007 08:04

haven't got time for a big post but wanted to add my sympathy Maewest. I'm really fed up too, Zack had a few good nights and I was so hopeful, but Saturday night he woke 2 hourly and last night he woke every 45-60 mins until 2am and then he slept until 4am getting up for the day at 5.15am.
I would be so angry with your DH, mine has gone off to work in a bit of a huff because I woke him 45 mins before he usually gets up for work to take over and I dared to be huffy
I don't know what else I can do, Zack settles himself to sleep during the day without any problems and he just isn't very hungry during the day.

Are there any babies on here still be being breastfed that are sleeping well?

maewest · 08/01/2007 08:13

Oh yes, huffy dh here too (prob explains noisy pants gathering) because I asked him to change DS;s nappy before he went. We kind of made up before he went.

I know I shouldn.t complain but the days are si knackerin ar rhe mo

maewest · 08/01/2007 08:13

usandbump - that IS hardcore

Ceebee74 · 08/01/2007 08:16

Just a quickie

KZ - Josh has 4 feeds a day - and takes usually takes 7-9oz each feed. He feeds between 7-8, 11-12, 3-4 and after bathtime at 7.30ish.

usandnosleep · 08/01/2007 08:19

DP sent a text but I'm afraid I couldn't send much of one back. If it was him who had to cope with the little sleep I've been getting over the last few months he would have cracked long ago. It makes me so mad
Then I feel guilty because he is great in so many other ways, it's hard to be rational and forgiving when knackered!

AND I think you have every right to complain! xx

IamBlossom · 08/01/2007 09:23

blimey, turn my back for five minutes and new thread, 75 million posts, and best of all BUMPY'S BACK. HOOOORAY!! Wotcha Bumps, welcome back, missed you! Glad to hear William is well, and things are good.

Festive - Emma is delectable, what a sweetie! Your posts crack me up. Your back to work start sounds rocky my love, try to take a break where you can, you'll be worn out...wish I could help....

KBaby - Happy Birthday hon! I am really enjoying my 30s, 32 in Feb. Said to DH last night I want to go to New York on my 40th, can't beleive I have never been (I am rather well travelled just never made it there!) I got a grunt in return which I have taken for a "yes of course darling, I'll get straight on to the Travel Agents"

Kosh, gorge pics of Jake too.

Got Toby weighed lsat Thursday, he is 19 pounds 11 at 22 weeks. What a chubby chunk. he is scrumptious. Has lost interest in milk abit since I have been feeding him, but still taking 4-5 8 oz bottles. Have stopped giving him milk at the same time as solids as it was just becoming farcical, so now he has one first thing (or whenever he wakes up) then brekkie, mid morning milk then lunch, mid afternoon milk then tea, then bedtime milk.

He has just been put down in his cot for a sleep, but is protesting big time. I have turned the monitor off and will check him after this post. DS1 back at nursery this morning, bliss.

Things with Dh are better. I think we are bothe just fed up of bickering about the same things. He just doesn't "get" why I think disappearing fishing for three days on the trot when you have two small children at home is out of order and I don't "get" the fact that the fishing season is nearly over and this is his last chance to get the pike of the century....we did talk about things though, and I wanted to put my viewpoint across. he says that if I want to go out whenever I want (in the evenings) I can. But as I tried to make him understand, him being at home "looking after " two kids that are in bed asleep, is totally different from me being at home alone with two kids AWAKE!! Anyway, it's too boring for this thread, but we have reached a truce...

Toby is not rolling yet. Nowhere near, the little blob!

What do you think of my chances of watching the Da Vinci Code in peace this morning?? Slim to zero I am betting...

Cried on Friday re GGG. Knowing the little girl's name makes it even more heartbreaking to read. I'll be thinking of them tomorrow, poor poor family.

Love Bloss

xx

KoshkaAndJake · 08/01/2007 10:49

jake has 4 7oz bottles, about 10, 2, 6, 10, or sometimes an hour later.
the little sod is nocturnal like his dad and to a lesser extent me.

frenchleave · 08/01/2007 11:51

Hello, it's so nice to be back!

Might I just add that Thomas is doing none of the things in this thread title... He's a lazy laid-back third baby, and a boy. I'm sure that's it because my girls were both sitting before 6 months.

Cracking headache today - up too early to get the girls off to school after two weeks of lazy lie-ins while T slept til 10am! (with a night feed c. 4am, but still it wasn't bad).

Happy birthday to the thirty year olds . My 30th seems a long time ago now... But as tis the season to be pampered guess what I got for Christmas - a mother-and-baby spa week! Can't wait, it's next month. Six whole days of licking my postnatal body back into something I can call my own. DH definitely in my good books at the mo. He's coming too, to Thomas-mind while I'm in spa heaven.

What gorgeous babies you all have! Must work out how/where to set some pics of Thomas up, no idea how it all works.

Happy Mondays to everyone!

pinkdolly · 08/01/2007 12:47

hi all.

For those who asked a bayamo, is like a hauck infinity or a bugaboo. Am really looking forward to it as Jazz does like to look at me and up to now she has been using an old britax.

Jazz is still breastfed at 6 months and she still wakes up about 3 times a night, but i wonder if thats just because she's only diddy.

Kz, your pamper day sounds great too. yeah, my other dd's 3 and 4 walk everywhere.

frenchleave- a whole week! now thats just greedy , sounds fab, i hope you have a brill time.

Am sorry to hear of those having trouble with dh's, hope things get back on track soon.

Well gotta go am supposed to be looking for somewhere to stay in warwickshire not gassing on here. bye for now.

pink

SleepIsForTheWeak · 08/01/2007 13:21

IAmBlossom, Sefton has the same feeding cycle as yours except he doesn't have lunch - maybe a little bit of babana or something...seems to be working out quite well. I am being flexible though, dont want to make too much of a strict routine! He is loving his purees - pear, carrot, banana and sweet potatoe are best.

Maewest and US - sorry about the sleep thing. Sleep deprivation is like a very cruel torture! These past 2 nights have been better in our household with sleep.. not sure if it is because of solids? The night before last some friends came around and the time just flew! He didn't niggle for food, and when I checked the time I realised he would have normally been fed 2 hours before (bad mommy!) so I gave him a bottle and then an hour later another one before bedtime - he didn't drink the whole thing but slept through from 8pm until 6am! Last night he woke up at 4:40 just the once. Of course I am still waking up between!!! But at least I can go staright back to sleep.

Have put him in his cot bed now which is HUGE - we really need to get a bigger place. He is sleeping better in there too because his arms dont keep hitting the sides. ALthough now that he is rolling I will sometimes hear frustrated sounds, and find him with his legs sticking out between the bars or something!

Gorgeous photos all.... keep them coming!

I prefer being in my 30s too! Turning 34 (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) in 3 weeks time. Getting my neighbour to baby sit so DH and I can go out.

Getting excited - we go to South Africa in 6 weeks time! yayyyyyyyyyy

enough rambling!

Twinklemegan · 08/01/2007 16:23

Kayzed - I went to baby clinic this afternoon and saw a different HV from normal. I'd been there two minutes when she asked if I feed him myself and if I'd had any problems. I asked why and she said Aidan has tongue tie!!!!!!! I have talked to sooo many MWs, a couple of HVs and an NCT BFC about my b/f problems and not one of them ever mentioned it! So it's definitely worth you asking about it when you next see your HV. Incidentally, the HV said that nothing would have been done even if I had known earlier, even with my b/f problems - wtf??? Apparently there isn't a MW who knows anything about it and can do the procedure at our local hospital. She said I should mention it again at Aidan's 9 month check and maybe get him checked by a speech therapist then if there are any concerns about his babbling. I really really wish I'd known in the beginning - I think we would have even gone private to get it sorted if it had come to that.

Aidan's weight has dropped down from the 50th to 25th centile - he's only put on 5.5 oz in the last month. The HV didn't seem too concerned but I am wondering now if he's taking enough milk. She said to trust him that he knows what he needs, but I'm not sure? He did go off his milk for a while though when he had that cold. Have any of you had your LOs weighed since they were poorly?

Ceebee74 · 08/01/2007 16:29

Hi Twinkle - (are you back at work this week?) - I weighed Josh last week (after 3 weeeks of not eating much due to his various illnesses) - he had put on 3oz in 2 weeks so that pretty much matches Aiden's gain doesn't it? If the HV isn't bothered, then I wouldn't worry aboutit either.

about the tongue tie business - not that he has it (obviously) but that no-one has spotted it before!! You wonder who you can believe sometimes don't you?

Evening ladies

Lordy, I have had the evening of hell with DD1-imagine the worst behaviour ever and treble it-enough said apart from I did have to leave the room to have a quick cry,

kayzed-will Roshi's haemangioma ever heal? Can't remember what you said. Roshi is eating well and proper food unlike what I am giving Sophie

More gorg piccies-all scrummy puddings that I want to eat with custard

agalch-I still remember the excitement of buying my wedding dress. Enjoy this time, you deserve it waiting this long. I told DH that if I was good enough to live with then I was good enough to marry so dragged him down the aisle.

Welcome back to pinkdolly, frenchleave and bumpy.

Hugs ((xx)) to maewest and Bloss for your lack of sleep and annoying DH's.

Beadmum-I have never heard of a bayamo either.

Yes, Ceebee-jelly????????? was my MIL visiting? Stoopid is as stoopid does.

Twinkle-how strange that nobody has picked up on the tongue tie until now.

Sophie is probably about 14lb or just under so can't go in the front facing car seat that DD1 had until she is 19lb-trouble is she is tall so squashed in the M&P rear facing seat.

I feel so sad about ggglimpopo's darling Maude-how terrible for her eldest daughter to find her sadly passed way during her afternoon nap. Just after her 2nd B'Day and Christmas and I just can't get the image of the pile of her presents still sat there in the front room like my 2 have.

Starting my diet tomorrow as my jeans are so tight I have sore bits so off to stuff chocolate now.

Hugs to all

xxx
