Thought I had better start a new thread as the old one was about to crash

Happy 30th B'Day kbaby Wish I was 30 again but then I suppose I wouldn't even be married let alone have a house to live in or my 2 precious children. Whoops-going all sentimental now, better go!

Taking DD1 to her dance class Christmas Party so got some sarnies to be getting on with.

Happy Sunday

hi babybore

Beadmum · 10/01/2007 13:49

welcome fizzbuzz and babybore

fizzbuzz - my dd isn't rolling yet, a few on here arent yet either so ive stopped worrying about this

babybore - my dd was born on 9th july also

prettymum - lovely photos

kz and twinkle - also shocked its taken this long for the tongue tie to be diagnosed, i agree with sleep, this should be checked for at the 6 week check up

re putting in their own room, we put charlotte in her own room at 6 weeks old To begin with we put her in her moses basket and put this in the cot then after a few nights we just put her straight into her cot. looked so tiny though but she adjusted fine and have to admit dh and i slept much better, we use a baby monitor, dont think you wake with every little noise as you do when they are in your own room.

we also put charlotte down to sleep at night in her cot awake and put her mobile on (one of those that projects pictures on the roof) she normally always goes to sleep with this although we try to put her down when she is tired which she usually is after her bath/bottle and cuddles.

fizzbuzz · 10/01/2007 13:53

We binned the baby monitor, as heard evry little sigh and rustle and always went rushing in....to find dd fast asleep! After doing this about 17 times in one night the monitor had to go...

SleepIsForTheWeak · 10/01/2007 13:54

hi fizzbuzz and babybore.
My dd was also born on the 13th July, she has rolled a couple of times, but doesn't really seem to be interested really.

I am sooooo bored. Waiting in for a pushchair to be delivered. The weather looks lovely but you can bet if i go out i will miss it. I hate waiting in, i get so impatient.

Wallace · 10/01/2007 14:08

Welcome fizzbuzz and babybore

Rubber ring! Why didn't I think of that?! Off to dig it out right now...

prettymum · 10/01/2007 14:40

welcome fizzbuzz and babybore

mine is another who is too lazy to roll! he rolled front to back twice few weeks ago and wont do it again! but he sits very well.

prettymum · 10/01/2007 14:41

pinkdolly know about having to wait in for parcels!! i bet they'll come at the last minute leaving you stuck indoors all day

Ceebee74 · 10/01/2007 15:35

OMG - only been out shopping for a couple of hours and come back to tons of messages!

Welcome Babybore and Fizzbuzz (I think I have spoken to you on other threads Fizz) - My Ds was born on 14 July.

I wouldn't worry about the rolling either. Josh rolls over from back to front the minute you lay him on his back (but only to his left - never to his right!) but has only ever rolled front to back on about 3 occasions and doesn't seem in the slightest bit bothered about doing it. Also, he won't sit up either - he point blank refuses to bend his back when you try to pull him to a sitting position so he ends up standing - never gonna learn to sit if he insists on doing that is he? The word that springs to mind is stubborn!

Pink - hope the puschair has come and it is fab - post a photo when it comes as I still have no idea what a bayamo (sp?) is.

Ceebee74 · 10/01/2007 15:36

Sorry - meant to add - Pretty, Junior is fab. And Sleep - have voted as requested - let us know if he wins!

IamBlossom · 10/01/2007 16:06

I am watching CBB, cant help myself even though it is as usual, car crash TV..Leo Sayer, get a grip on yourself! "My new single is out in the US and it's going to be a smash" I mean I'm all for self belief but he is a total prick! And I have no words for the Goody family, none exist. Jermaine Jackson will never darken English shores again, fact.

KZ - I have few words either for the failed tongue tie diagnosis, apart from WTF? HV, what are they good for, absolutely nothing. Hugs. It is testament to your superior parenting that Roshi not only drank breastmilk for the length of time she did (in whatever receptacle) but that she is the chubby little angel she is, despite the challenges you have faced and continue to face with her. I also wanted to comment that although say that her birth mark (sorry not even going to attempt to spell her skin blemish thing ) is all people notice I am confident it isn't. She is so beautiful and gorgeous I am sure they see past that within seconds. And she is a very lucky girlie to have a mum that is carefully taking lots and lots of beautiful phots of her that don't show it so that she can have a record of her early life that doesn't feature it. I hope that comes out right, the written word is not as good as talking face to face

Kbaby - Toby goes down awake. [ducks] I do with him what I did with DS1 and make sure he is calm, fed, and all the tired signs are there, put him down in his cot in his gro bag, and turn the light off. In about 95% of cases it works. Having said that......have just fed him to sleep with a bottle, because we are in all afternoon, I am having a very trying day, and if he didn't sleep NOW I think I'd put him in the garage...

Just one of those days when the smallest thing seems to take you right to the edge, KWIM?? I wonder if AF is due.... Woke up late, which in itself was bliss and very rare (7am!!!!)but meant we were late for getting DS1 ready for nursery, so dishwasher remained full of clean dishes, kitchen remained a bombsite, wet washing remained in machine, dry washng remained in respective machine, beds were unmade, etcetcetc until we got back from nursery run, and I hadn't fed Toby breakfast so he was screaming and it all just got completely on top of me. Then car computer on the way back told me I had a puncture...so Dad had to come round nad change the tyre, so still have that to sort out, then it seemed all roads I wanted to travel down were closed for repairs (not metaphorically! Literally!)

Anyway, things are calmer now, Toby is asleep, DS1 is watching Chitty Chitty bang bang and I am talking to you lot.

Off to drink coffee in peace till chaos ensues again...

Bloss

Ceebee74 · 10/01/2007 16:11

Bloss - what a lovely way with words you have - I am sure KZ will be very touched - and I echo everything you have said. Roshi is gorgeous and KZ, you should be very proud!

CBB - started to watch it but although I don't mind Jade and would have carried on watching it cos I liked her the first time round, I cannot abide her 'hanger-on' mother and boyfriend so as soon as they came in, I switched off (as apparently did millions of others if the viewing figures are anything to go by!) - I think Ken Russell and that rocker bloke had the right idea!!

IamBlossom · 10/01/2007 16:11

sorry missed a few messages, hi Fizz and baby bore.

pants, Toby has woken up already...

pinkdolly · 10/01/2007 16:51

Grrr, pushchair still not here. and i've waited in all day. What's the chance it will come today now? (parcelforce)

Twinklemegan · 10/01/2007 18:11

Hi Fizzbuzz and Babybore (love the name!)

Ceebee - we moved Aidan into his own room about a week ago. We didn't plan to do it til he was 6 months but circumstances overtook us. It went really well - I think it helped that Aidan has slept in a few different places already. I have a baby monitor by the bed turned up loud - as Beadmum said I don't tend to wake as often as I did when he was next to me. Both doors are closed because we have cats. Can't risk them going in his room and they're a right pain if they come in ours. I'd much prefer to have both doors open otherwise. Oh, and I never answered your question - I'm not back at work yet, but will be on Monday

Wallace - ONLY 19lb 1oz!! Aidan was weighed on Monday at 23.5 weeks - he was only 15lb 13oz!! Is he the smallest baby boy on the thread now?? The strange thing is he looks perfectly in proportion - not fat but definitely not thin and he's quite long as well. Perhaps his head's full of air like mine . I'll post some more pics soon.

Blossom - that was really nicely put about Roshi. She is such a pretty little girl and KZ has got some lovely pics of her.

Pink - did the pushchair turn up?

babybore · 10/01/2007 18:44

Hi everyone - thanks for making me feel welcome. Have just ordered an indian takeout - so nice not to have to cook dinner every now and then.

Beadmum - our dds have a twin! What time was yours born? Mine was 2.40pm (after a 20 hour labour ).

Yes, thanks for welcome every one...forgot to say that earlier.

HumphreysCorner · 10/01/2007 21:41

Evening girlies

How many posts????????? Couldn't really face posting much yesterday under the circumstances.

Anyway, a massive welcome to babybore and fizzbuzz and congratulations to you both. We are very chatty on here unlike a recent thread I visited-they started it in July and by December they were still on it That just wouldn't happen on here

Day 2 of my diet and am already fed up of working out points-at least Tesco healthy living food has WW points written on the packets. Am trying to persuade DH to buy me some WW scales which point the food up but as yet have not had a response. Am also trying to be a domestic goddess to prove what a brill SAHM/housewife I am to stop DH making me go back to work but seem to be more like Deborah Ross the non domestic goddess in the Saturday Mail. There is a lady at DD1's dance class with 3 children who puts me to shame. Ready meals, what are they she asked-lol!

kayzed-can't believe it about the tongue tie. You have been through so much but still able to offer your words of wisdom to help with our problems-bless you.

Twinkle-I had never heard of tongue tie and now there are 2 cases of this on our thread! Hope both of you get the help you need. I have the baby monitor plugged in my side and it is so loud that DH complains. Didn't use it with DD1 but more paranoid with Sophie. Good luck with going back to work.

Bloss-what lovely words hun and so true Sophie always goes down awake as did DD1. She cries for less than 1 minute then silence until 7am ish.

Am still BF Sophie and loving it as no teeth yet-phewee! I feed her whenever and wherever but hardly ever in the night.

Annie-nice to see you back. Sorry to hear that Christmas was not so good. Hope work is going OK.

Sleep-sorry to hear that you have the Winter Blues. We are all here for you. ((xx))

Ceebee-we have Sophie's door open but have a stairgate across the door to stop DD1 getting in.

kayzed-ah, sandwiches. Can't wait until Sophie can eat those-DD1 was abaolutely ages before she could manage them.

Meant to say, when I was on Ebay searching for WW scales someone was selling some old style ones and I'm sure she must be a MNetter due to the way she had written the advert. I have to stop myself talking MN speak when in the RL world. Nearly said IYSWIM when talking to DH last night.

Have just stocked up with 10 PG tests as feel a tad grot at the mo with AF pains but no AF and heartburn and flutterings but thankfully BFN.

Have been to the hairdressers today and am trying to change my style as New Year, new (hopefully) thinner me so new hairstyle required. Went on My Virtual Model on line and you can create a model of yourself and put in your weight and height, hair colour etc and it gives you a 3d image of how big you are. You can then put in your ideal weight to see the after effect.

Prettymum-Junior is gorgeous and what a lovely one of the 2 of them-aw!

Took this one of Sophie yesterday at 28 weeks complete with sick all down her top.

Sophie

Better go as you will all nod off if I write any more-good sleep therapy though

Bye for now

could i please join this thread? jacob was born 8 weeks early on 14th july at 3lb 2oz.

we have been weaning for coming up 2 weeks and I was wondering if you could help me - we are having veg puree for lunch and fruit for late afternoon, with milk early morning, mid morning, after lunch, late afternoon and then before bed. He's taken to waking up at 1030 and then 330am then early morning again - has anyone else had this happen at start of weaning, and do you think I should be giving him a fruit in the morning instead of (or as well as) late afternoon?also is everyon'e lo's sitting up well, as jacob manages a few seconds and then keels over to one side!

ps koshkaandjake - he's such a cutie, and humphreyscorner sophie is gorgeous

HumphreysCorner · 10/01/2007 22:43

Hi Lysettes and welcome-oh, and congrats too 8 weeks early-bet that was a worrying time for you all.

I weaned Sophie in November and for the 1st week I gave her (from what I remember as forgotten already-doh!) she had the Heinz packet mix at lunch times. I then moved it to evenings in the hope she would sleep through-not! So I introduced breakfast cereals then as I was desperate for a nights sleep I gave her lunch as well. Did away with the dream feed and she sleeps like a log. She has a bit of milk when waking, some after breakfat, juice with her lunch and tea and milk before bed. She sometimes has milk in an afternoon but does use me for comfort some of time Keep experimenting and I'm sure he will get a full tum and sleep through-takes a bit of time.

Until 27 weeks Sophie couldn't sit for more than 3 mins without crashing down-now she sits for ages with just the occasional dive

Damn-have been so busy on MN I have missed half of Desperate Housewives.

well me an dp decided that it was finally time to clear out all the junk in our small flat! he gets everything out, makes me switch off desperate housewives so we can concerntrate on the clearing!!

well what does he do, he comes across all of his cricket bats and ends up playing with them and now he's taking pictures of them so he can sell on ebay!! our living room is a junk site at the moment so i decided im gonna get on the computer until he finishes playing with his bloody toys!!

Ceebee74 · 11/01/2007 08:24

Welcome Lysette - my DS was born on 14 July aswell (though he was 1 week late)

Can't help on the weaning issue as I haven't started yet but re sitting, Josh not sitting much at all - just doesn't seem interested in learning!

Josh's 3rd nursery settling in session this morning - didn't get off to a great start as we slept in so his feeding schedule is a bit off today and I am worried he won't get a nap in before we go (cos he sure as hell won't have one when he is there - too much else going on!)

soph28 · 11/01/2007 08:58

Can I join too? my dd was born on 18th July.

She is doing nothing!! No attempt to roll/sit/crawl, hates being on her tummy. She's not very good at holding things and is rubbish at eating (been weaning for a couple of weeks and she doesn't even open her mouth for food!) Think she probably weighs about 15lbs and I thought that was average/big.

My ds who is nearly 2 weighs 24lbs. He couldn't go in a forward facing car seat till he was one but his birthweight was 8lb 6oz and he eats loads! They are all different.

Those who have posted pics- your babies are SO gorgeous.

prettymum · 11/01/2007 10:02

morning ladies!!

welcome soph28 and Lysette

soph28- junior hates it on his belly now, he used to be able to lie on his belly for 10 mins before, noe he just starts crying the moment he is on his belly. he wont open his mouth for food too! i gave him some food earlier and he did open his mouth but now its firmly shut!

well whilst writing my late night post both kids ended up waking up so i fed junior and fell asleep and dp managed to clear up quite a few stuff.

but this morning dd came into our bed with junior in it, saying hello to both of us and dragged me out of bed! it took the poor girl 10 minutes to persuade me to get out!

how windy is it outside??! i think we might just stay indoors today.

pinkdolly- did your buggy arrive?
